20 Best Backpacks For 17 Inch Laptops (2022 Updated)

Without a doubt this is a really nice backpack. It has a ton of space and lots of internal pockets to make organization easy. The straps are comfortable and it generally fits me well. If you are looking for a mostly professional looking bag that won’t break the bank this will fit the bill (if you wait for a sale).

For the past few weeks I have had 2 laptops, chargers, mice, a tablet, some notepads, phone, general chargers, and books all stuffed in it without much issue. Everything does get pretty tight in the middle but that is to be expected with so much gear.

Now for why I give it 4 stars: 1. The middle pocket is very deep and appears to be designed to hold a lot but, when overfilled, can make the front zipper and pocket difficult to manage. I have felt like I needed a little too much force to make the front armored pocket close.

2. The water bottle holder is pretty small. Maybe the next iteration can have a larger collar with a pull string to tighten it around the bottle. 3. The bottom and front-bottom “armor” section appears to be VERY prone to scratches and discoloration.

Mine also came with a blemish that appears to be an imperfection in the foam. 4. It always appears to be front heavy, no matter what I have in it. Overall it is a good bag that serves its purpose well for me.

Not much that I could see would improve it unless they beefed up the straps.

Amazing backpack, fits a ton of items. The read fits my ipad air gen 4 in a thick case in it’s own slip in spot, and it accommodates massive laptops. Even with a 17 inch laptop in it, it’s got tons of room spare and the padded rear is amazingly done.

As other have stated, the zippers can be a pain, but only so much as the front pouches. When it’s not filled and pushed out a bit, the zippers like to snag on the the round near the upper corners of the bags hard shell, but if you simply push it forward with a finger it bypasses the issue.

Honestly, I use this for gaming, nursing school and every day use. It’s low profile and attractive, the shell was initially a concern as was the bags bottom, but it hasn’t scuffed and the shell holds up well.

If you review this on amazon, the main issue is the front zipper issue, and second scuffing on the bottom of the bags material. You’ll also see an amazing review from someone who got into a bike wreck while wearing this, and while the shell was beat up and the stitching came undone some, the laptop and contents inside the bag were safe.

It’s an amazing bag, if you can grab it on a sale, go for it!.

Boy was the name of this product missleading. Is it armored? lolno There isn’t a bit of hard anything on it. The cover is soft plastic with a mild amount of resistance. I had expected a hard plastic panel, you know – armor, on the front and it was not.

Is it padded? Yes. There is an good amount of padding for the laptop in every direction including the bottom. There’s also enough padding from the front to back that theoretically the laptop would be fine even if you kicked the front of the backpack out of rage from buying it.

It gets 4 stars for the name. Had this actually been a hard shell backpack like made for motorcycles I’d have been raving about this thing. Only /problem/ with it is the middle zipper set tends to get stuck on itself, or the liner behind it.

A minor annoyance.

Little bag, a lot of storage space! This bag has several pockets and I surprisingly don’t use most of them. I bought this bag to use during my work commute rides and it does the job perfectly. It can fit my work boots (size 13) and food.

My riding boots (size 13) are a bit of a squeeze cause they’re the tall boys, but I can make it work. But even with all of that in the main compartment there is still the back compartment for a laptop and some folders, a couple of front pockets for various things, side pockets and a top pocket for chargers and smaller phones to fit (my iPhone 11 Pro Max doesn’t fit).

Overall perfect for what I bought it for and if needed I can even use it for overnight trips it has so much space while being small and not so daunting on the back. Only time I really notice on my back is during very gusty nights but even then the wind is trying to blow my whole bike over so I give it a pass for that.

Definitely will buy this or another in their line up again!.

This bag is perfect for my commuting needs. Fits everything perfectly – laptop; lunch; clothes. Everything has its specific pocket. Very durable, weather proof, high quality zips. Great value for the price.

Every three years or so, I purchase a new SwissGear backpack. I use my backpack for work/client supplies (I run a tech company and need to have all my supplies and personal items for a long day on the road) and for international travel.

All SwissGear backpacks have been durable and easy to use. The little things like zippers and pocket sizes are always perfect. Never an issue. Pre-COVID, if I wasn’t on the road, I was already working out of my office or home-office.

When it became a pandemic, it extended the life of my previous backpack by 1. 5 years. This is a personal replacement-timeline (every 3 years) as I put my luggage through some trials and hard times. Finally, it was time to get a new back, and I selected this one to match some recent rolling luggage I purchased on the SwissGear website.

This back’s color contrast is nice to look at; it matches some carry-on items I recently purchased which is nice. What gets me even happier is the carry handle on top is not just a strap or band–it’s a plastic handle with molded finger grips.

This may seem like a small thing, but, when you’re in a packed SUV , over the road, and or pulling your backpack from the overhead bin on a plane, having a sure-controllable-grip on a heavy backpack makes ALL the difference.

I may buy a second identical item for 3 years from now.

I owned a non ballistic 1900 backpack for years. Purchased this one and love the ballistic material! Color looks great in person too. Few things I noticed not as good as prior backpack: 1) Zippers don’t glide like butter as the older regular version.

Material covering the zipper also seems to make them drag and I’m scared it will get caught and snag on the zipper perhaps eventually. 2) The top front pocket is weirdly sized this time. Last pack it was a joy to use and open with the bottom of the zipper ouch large than the top.

Now, for some reason, the top part of the pouch is longer than the bottom and creates a hard time to zip open and freely grab and go. Weird, not sure what they did, but needs to be examined and fixed.

The top handle of the backpack isn’t as tight and well made as my last pack. This one seems to have been put on slightly weird and I can twist it some which shouldn’t be the case. Could also use some additional features.

Overall, strong, solid backpack with great warranty.

I have used many daypacks in my lifetime. I enjoy testing different types of equipment- seeing what feels right and performs adequately. This daypack is the finest daypack I have ever used. In fact, I purchased a second one after using the first one- a different color, of course.

I use one daypack for my normal activities and one pack for my swimming gear. The daypack pack is logically laid out, from pockets to zippers, and made of quality material. For the airline traveler, it is very convenient with its easily accessible interior and laptop storage space.

Everything about this pack is well thought out. Do yourself a favor. Purchase this reasonably priced daypack and enjoy the “Leica” of daypacks.

I absolutely love this backpack! It is sleek and refined on the outside; I can use it in a professional setting and not look like an intern. The zipper for the laptop section is so well hidden that I thought that I had been sent the wrong one until I saw the lanyard ring to open it up.

It is deceptively roomy; it looks so thin from the outside, but it really holds so much more than you would think. The main section also is divided into really convenient pockets that also will just fold flat if you don’t want to use them and just want one big space.

And the strap to attach it to an extended suitcase handle is so convenient, it makes it the perfect “personal bag” to go with your 1 carry-on item if you don’t want to check any luggage while flying.

I think the only negative thing I could say about this backpack is really just an aside to one of the positives, in that, because of how professional it looks it is difficult to distinguish it from others and you would need to find a way to personalize it in case there were more than one in the room.

This backpack meets most of my needs although it has a few gotchas most people should be aware of. As a general use backpack, it does its job. You can fit in a 15. 6″ laptop, although it’s a tad snug (I would be careful when zipping up as it may scratch the corners.

The external pockets are nice but I’m not sure how durable they are. The springiness of the lip leaves me a bit concerned that they will wear out relatively quickly, but for now they’re pretty good. I like the little window that you can sneak out a charging cable, and the hidden pocket in the back is a cool idea.

Unfortunately that leads to a few concerns. The hidden pocket is a separate part of the backpack. Think of it as a reverse moneybelt pouch. You will need to make sure that you put anything in there carefully as you can’t just toss anything in there.

The area between the pocket and the backpack is wide open so anything (like spare change) will fall through. Also, as the pocket is mesh, it will eventually rip (I have multiple backpacks with the same mesh and they’re all riddled with tears) from all the rubbing and friction from daily use.

I also find that the backpack is a bit narrower (width-wise) than I would prefer, but that is not Lenovo’s fault. That means I can’t have the backpack tight against my back, but need to loosen the straps a bit and let it hang apart (again, not Lenovo’s fault).

For daily use this is a decent carrier for my laptop. It is much slimmer than my previous one and does the job for the most part. For going between home and work, it’s perfectly fine.

Pros: Lots of room! I took my work laptop, personal ultrabook, 2 keyboards, 2 mouses, wrist rests, mouse pad, and even a few other items. It was a tight fit leaving with so much stuff, but I did get it all to fit and then some that I’ve left off.

This is a life saver when going too and from work or traveling. My briefcase would have caused me take 2 or 3 trips to the car. Cons: There is supposedly a port for cables to come out of the bottom corner judging by the website image, but I’ve been unable to find where the hole is to use that in the future for say charging or using headphones.

(Perhaps this is my own error and not and item defect?).

The backpack is good quality and has various pockets and zippers to store a variety of things. It is a well built bag and even comes with a rain cover on the underside to be used should it rain. It does all this while looking stylish and being a functional backpack to use on the go.

This bag is sleek meaning not bulky and clumpy which makes foe easy storage and packing. Love the colors and the fact that it is water proof. Plenty of compartments to stir my laptop (16’) as well as my two iPhones and my file folders,.

Love the overall quality of this backpack. When I bought this item it was on sale but even without the sale this backpack is well worth the price. Certainly not a purchase one will regret!

I replaced my previous eBag Pro Slim Laptop Backpack with the new version. The configuration, size, quality, ease of use, comfort are ALL topnotch. However, my old bag had finally torn at the top where the straps were sown to the bag.

I was pleasantly surprised by how many design modifications had been made that I consider to all be improvements, including how the straps are now double reinforced where they old bag tore, so this should hold up even better.

The other changes were more subtle tweaks, but it shows me that eBags learns from their customers, listens and responds with good changes. MUCH APPRECIATED! The only thing that I have found is a negative with the latest version is that the bottom is a stiffer, more durable material, which is great, but this new bag does not “lean” reliably when you set it down by a wall or chair.

It won’t stay mostly vertical, even when set next to an object. It requires about a 30-45 degree angle to keep it in place, which when you’re in a conference room, cafe, or airport, it ends up taking up too much space and getting in other people’s way.

That’s the only negative of this latest version.

I purchased this laptop backpack in 2017. It’s an amazing bag! I carry it everyday to and from work. I travel a lot as well with it. It is now 2022 and one of the straps has started to come detached.

I have sewn it/repaired it as best I can, but I don’t know how long it will hold. I ordered a new bag to have on hand for when my original one finally kicks the bucket. I thought I was ordering the same bag, but it is NOT the same bag.

I am sorely disappointed. Here are the differences: Can no longer lock the zippers with a luggage lock. These new zippers also feel very cheap, as if they could break easily. The straps can no longer be detached at the bottom to tuck them out of the way.

This was very useful for getting on/off a plane as the straps tend to catch on seats and people otherwise. The cable storage compartment no longer has the hard-shell removable case. This isn’t that big of a deal as the compartment itself is still made from molded plastic, but it’s a change worth noting.

You can no longer put the bag on a luggage handle horizontally. This was handy because it still left room above to stack something else onto your luggage if needed. This new bag can only go on a luggage handle vertically, so it takes up more handle space.

Finally this bag can no longer be carried like a briefcase instead of a backpack as it is missing the side handle. I now see a mention of the website about this bag receiving an “update” in 2019. I didn’t see that when I purchased the new version.

I ultimately ended up returning the new bag.

I’ve been using this bag for about one month and these are my reasons for giving it three stars. You can’ fit anything with any real depth(it is a slim bag). I carry a pair of Razer headphones sometimes and while they somewhat fit you can only zip the bag halfway.

Also, the bottle holder is kind of awkward. It is designed to zip up and be concealed when not in use but it makes it kind of awkward sometimes to put a bottle into. Every other bag I own has a simple elastic netting/material that is simple to use.

Another issue I don’t like is that the bag doesn’t sit up by itself, you need to lean it against something or put something heavy in it and position it a certain way. What I do like about it is that it’s a nice looking bag and seems well made.

The protective compartment at the bottom is nice and I feel comfortable putting things in their that I don’t want damaged. Also the bag is well padded and I feel safe keeping my laptop and iPad in there.

The large front zippered portion that swings open has a nice variety of slots and places to keep different size adapters, short cables, flash drives, etc. For some people this will be the perfect bag but it just wasn’t everything I was looking for.

I had an older model that finally started wearing out after many years of travel with it. It was the same style as this one but not as wide. I got a wider model this time due to change in hardware. Anyway it’s just like the old one with a couple exceptions.

The shoulder straps are heavier constructed on this one, they feel different on the shoulder. The old would infrequently want to slip off a shoulder. This one does not do that, kudos. The other difference is that the side zippered pockets aren’t as deep as the old one’s.

I had long things I carried in those that no longer fit there. So I had to change which part of the bag I carried them in. But I found an appropriate spot and love the bag, even with that minor nuisance of the shallower side pokets.

I had one of these that I purchased 14 years ago. It may of had a different name but it is the same. after 14 years, Finally some of the seams tore on the strap. I’ve shut the strap in the car door at least once and drove to work.

I work in an industrial environment. so it never had an easy life. Often carried two laptops, tools, books and journals. I mean, yes the strap finally failed but on average the thing was loaded and weighed 50 lbs.

after I finally decided to retire it. I tried using other bags. They just couldn’t get it done. so I purchased my second bag. Like and old woobie blankie, it’s as if my life is complete. First one lasted 14 years.

This one should probably last till I retire. I hate the price. But when you figure the prices vs. 14 years of service. it’s worth it. My concern is that as many things, the quality would have declined over the years.

It doesn’t feel as if it did. But time will honestly tell. I’m not sorry I purchased my second one.

Replacing this for the exact same one I got 10 years ago, great design, long lasting. New bag appears identical for everything that matters. Well balanced, great padding and supports. Makes it feel lighter than it actually is.

The only thing that broke was the plastic handle cover about 2 years in but it doesn’t affect your ability to pick it up. Current version looks like it has softer plastic and stronger. 10 years in the top pouch zipper wore out, going to continue to use it as a secondary bag as its still going strong.

This bag fits the roll of a sturdy, lightweight, minimalist day bag. I use it more for bushcraft than camping so I can’t comment on how functional it would be as an overnighter, but suspect it would be tight for a sleeping pad, bag, shelter, clothes, cook wear, etc.

But it’s worked great for day trips. I’m 5’11, 200 and the pack fits good. An adjustable yoke would be nice for fine tuning the fit…so keep that in mind if you’re on the shorter side. Also, if you’re in to lots of technical features and compartments this is not your bag.

It definitely is more on the utilitarian side. Overall though I’d recommend.

Bought this bag specifically to meet smaller requirements of carry on luggage on European flights. First of all, so many people had the same idea and I think that speaks to the practicality and durability of this product.

Perfect size, great capacity, I took it everywhere on my trip and it never felt too heavy or inconvenient. It’s cute and held up great! I used four little make up bags (like you might get in the dollar section at Target or something) for organizing and that worked perfectly with a little room to spare.

Very well made durable backpack. You will never need to worry about it ripping. It’s not very big as backpacks go but holds 4-1” binders a couple composition books and a laptop. It’s very stylish but gets dirty super easy.

You can’t clean it and if you try it will rub off the color of the fabric and make it look worse. If it rubs against anything it leaves permanent marks on the fabric. This is our 3d and I buy them because the kids insist.

However the Patagonia and north face still looked brand new after a year of use. These look like heck after 6 months. They would be great for college but if kids set these on the floor or bus it will be visually disgusting quickly.

I love this laptop backpack. It fits my 17. 3 inch HP laptop snugly with not much to spare closing the zip – which is exactly what I was looking for. I use it as I need to take my laptop and mouse home at night a couple of times a week and I walk to work – so wanted something that sits well and is comfortably on my back.

It does this and its very light so not carrying any more than I need to. It fits more than that too – when it has too (ie medium sized lunchbox etc. ) so all in all very pleased with this one.

Just the right size for my laptop. Materials are of good quality. Bought this one at a good deal. No bad side for this product. Been using it for two weeks and I was satisfied.

Purchased for high school kid, good quality but smaller than I thought it was going to be. Just sufficient for laptop, sports gear and lunch box. Not good if they need to carry more stuff for school.

Have been using it for a moth now, it has lots of storage space several pockets for pens, documents, notebooks, charging cables, I carry my table or iPad and of course a laptop, it has 3 big compartents and several small ones, I use it mainly as a backpack, you won’t be disapointed with this product, If you just want a backpack for a laptop and a few other items then look for another product.

Bought this for my stepdaughter, who will be attending college this fall. She is very particular with what she likes, and this was the bag she selected.

Purchased this to replace the other Kenneth Cole Reaction backpack I bought more than 5 years ago. This one is even roomier with more compartments. There Is a reinforced handle on top. Each pocket/compartment is line with a soft fabric.

I was looking at several different backpacks from different companies – I’m a college student so I wanted something that could fit all my books yet not look derpy. I bought the Division backpack too but ended up returning that one.

I like this bag because it has a lot of organizing compartments, especially the front pocket for a metro card and the side pocket for a journal. Also, I like how the laptop compartment is separate from the main backpack portion.

I had a Northface backpack before this and I like how this backpack doesn’t have sternum straps bc they look derpy. The only thing that slightly disappointed me was the handle material. The top and side handles are made of a strap of fabric which is neither too durable or comfortable to handle.

The division backpack was better in this regard, but the lack of organization made me choose this one instead. I also sometimes have trouble putting my standard sized water bottle in the pocket, but I appreciate how this bag doesn’t have a stretchy water bottle holder since those usually show the first signs of wear.

I use this backpack everyday since I got it and I really like it! Btw I am 5’6″ and it fits well on my back without looking too huge.

Daily commuter on a scooter here. Always looking for a bag that’s comfortable and allows me to carry all my gear. My biggest question before buying was if the lower zipper pocket on the front would function for me.

So far so good. It holds my MBP charger, wired headphones, AirPods and phone charger. In the organization pocket (corner zip section) I carry adapter cables, Moleskin notebook, 2 pens, business cards and backup hard-drive.

Likes: Access/separate pocket for MBP/Laptop is great. Also main compartment has plenty of room for a change of clothes and small toiletry bag. Only dislike: Shoulder straps are comfortable but sometimes flip around so when putting on the pack a strap will need to be turned right side up.

I used the previous iteration of the Q backpack for 4 years and found it to be the perfect pack for its dedicated laptop sleeve, roomy main compartment and random organization. I got tired of it and eventually switched to a messenger style leather bag.

Personally, I missed the backpack form factor and the laptop with its own external zipper is the BEST. I couldn’t fit my lunch in a slim messenger and so I bought the Division pack during 30% off. Nice but also too slim for random items and lunch.

Returned it for the Q 2. 0 and it’s a more stylish version of the old one. Minimal, but perfectly placed organization with the right amount of room for office commuting. Tons of padding to keep your laptop safe (15″ MacBook).

Love it. Only thing I don’t love is that I didn’t get it during the flash sale.

Identical replacement. I really like this bag. Mine gets a lot of abuse with 8-10 airline segments a month. The decorative metal buckles on the front don’t hold up to being packed full and shoved under airline seats.

That is the only negative. The [adding is great, the shoulder straps are THE BEST I have seen/found. My first bag lasted 3 years. It would have more life in it, but when I saw that this bag was still available, I snatched it right up!.

The High Sierra Access Pro is a stylish functional pack back that can go from urban groove to country hike. I will tell you what sold me on this backpack. The back section of the pack is the laptop sleeve (actually two sleeves) and at the bottom of this sleeve there are a series of straps that suspend your computer above the bottom of the bag.

It is about an inch or so, but this extra suspension will add years to the life of my computer. I have on many occasions pulled my heavy backpack off my back and let is drop to the floor and then realize that yes my computer is in fact inside and that may not be the best thing for the laptop.

I never had a computer break in a bag, but I am sure if added to the wear and tear it experienced. So, I new right away this was going to be a good backpack for me. As I mentioned before the laptop slot is actually two sleeves, the front one is a little smaller, so for me that would be a tablet holder and the back for laptop.

I often have books or papers that need a flat tight spot to keep them from getting messy and the extra sleeve will do nice for this as I only have a laptop and a tablet if I was traveling, but not for everyday commuting to work.

Being large enough to hold a 17” laptop, the shape of this bag is squared off and roomy. Sometimes bags with a square shaped main section, often may you look like a High School kid on finals day. This bag has a fairy sleek shape considering how much you can fit in the main pouch.

This was another big selling point for me. For travel, camping or hikes, the spacious main pouch will come in handy, all of these are times when you are carrying things of different shapes and sizes and a room bag is an asset.

Also for hiking, or other times you might want to bring a decent size water bottle, the very front of the bag has a easy access space that is great for water bottles. It puts your water bottle in the front and center of the bag which is a huge plus, a heavy water bottle can really unbalance the weight of a bag if it is is one the side.

There are two side slots on either side for water bottles as well. But, I would prefer the center one for comfort. My Access Pro is called Sliver Heather/Steel Grey and the look is stylish and muted, while not screaming outdoorsy.

The Silver Heather fabric on the top of the bag gives it an upscale look. This fabric is also front facing on the straps which means while you are wearing it, the heathered straps will be the first thing people will see.

Backpacks are my “briefcase” and I prefer something stylish that can feel professional as well. That can be hard to find in a backpack. What struck me at first was that the fabric feels lightweight and a little high tech.

It’s durable and a little crinkly to the touch, but still soft and pliable at the same time. It does not appear to be water proof, but seems to hold up well in light rain or getting wet in general. It seems durable and easy to clean.

On an interesting note, the tag for the product that would list what the bag is made from and how to care for it. Has been placed deep in the computer pocket and is not readable unless you cut it out.

Considering how many other pockets they could have used to place the tag, this seems like and unusual choice. This backpack feels like a upgrade to me. I look forward to giving this new pack a workout both in my daily commute and taking it outdoors to test it limits.

The High Sierra – Access Pro backpack is a great backpack for travel. There are several other small and large compartments throughout the backpack. The front compartment keeps closed with 2 magnets, one on each side of the front opening.

Once opened, it reveals a zippered pocket on both the inside and outside of the large pocket. Behind that is a large zippered compartment with a little mesh zippered compartment on the inside. I used this large compartment to store 2 days worth of clothes for my travels.

The zipper underneath the handle reveals a very small compartment, maybe large enough for sunglasses or similar in size. My sunglasses fit nicely in this compartment. Behind the first large compartment is the laptop compartment.

It has a large section with a laptop hammock that prevents the laptop from sitting on the bottom of the backpack. It’s a great feature, especially since I’m worried about my laptop hitting the ground when I set my backpack down.

There is another pocket with a Velcro enclosure that would fit laptop cables or anything else you can think of. The back of the backpack has a thick, sturdy section in the fabric to give support for the laptop and your back.

The outside of the backside has mesh padded sections that is very comfortable on my back. The straps are padded for comfort as well. The top handle is thick and sturdy, with soft mesh underneath. I have several backpacks and have traveled with them all.

This is one of my favorites. I like that it prevents damage to my laptop sitting at the bottom and I like the numerous compartments for everything that I have. This is a high quality backpack, you can’t go wrong with this one.

I use this bag each day to commute to work by bike (6 km). Even heavily charged, it is still comfortable, thanks to the pectoral belt and to the vertical shape, which helps to fit my back. I can put my lunch box, some changing clothes, some bike repair tools, a satchel, a 15″ computer, and a lab book inside.

I am not sure if a 17″ computer can fit in. The front flap hides 3 pockets: a half-height one, a full-height one, and the last one for keys and pens. This latter one is probably in excess, as it is difficult to access.

However, it is not fully waterproof under intense rain and I use an additional coating.

This is a great backpack. First of all the size is perfect – it’s not super bulky, it’s compact in a way that feels very well-thought-out, and yet there are so many compartments. It’s like I’m always discovering more! They’re designed to comfortably hold a power adapter (fits perfectly), phone (perfectly), 17-inch laptop, tablet and pens/styli, among other things.

I love that I don’t have to try to stack all of my electronics carefully on top of/next to each other in a strategic way like how I had to do in my previous backpack. The color is perfect, I like a good black/grey/charcoal so for me it has a stylish look while still being fairly neutral.

There are no straps flopping around; to the contrary, there are small clips on each side to prevent that from happening, which I very much appreciate and adds to the sense that the pack is very compact.

It’s like no matter how much stuff I put in there it still appears to be the same size, and the back side is padded so that it’s soft against your lower back. Great pack – comfortable, stylish, just really smart design.

It’s a cool product and I will definitely be using this thing for years to come!.

I needed a new bag to take with me to work at coffeeshops, and I saw this one. Eloop wasn’t a brand I was familiar with at the time. But This bag was sleek, the perfect size, and it was seemingly waterproof, which was my perfect combo.

I didn’t mind about the unknown brand. I’d rather stick out with something original anyway. So, it came last Tuesday and I’ve been using it ever since. It’s my new go-to. It has just the right amount of space for my computer (15 inch MacBook pro), my iPad, all the chargers and still has room to spare.

I saw that this same company also makes Bluetooth speakers and portable batteries, so I picked those up, too, and they fit in the bag perfectly. All this to say this is my new carryon, my new work bag, it’s light, cool-looking, and has exactly what I needed.

This bag is really built smart. It is perfectly balanced between style and function. I am hard on my backpacks. I use them to commute on my bike, trains, and airplanes. I needed something that looked a little more professional than my current pack and at the same time could stand up to the rigor of city life.

It is constructed to last with strong stitching, zippers, and handles. The design on the inside is simple yet very functional. It has space for your electronics, files, laptop, phone, battery, etc. I like to be very organized and efficient.

It works perfectly whether riding to a caf or going into a meeting. I highly recommend.

I have previously owned a basic Fjällräven Kånken which I liked a lot, so I was happy when this more environment-friendly manufactured option was launched when I needed a new bag. I have it in the color Charcoal.

I hope this will last as many years as the old one. The color of the website picture is corresponding to the real backpack, but the fabric does not look or feel that “vintage” or waxed in the pics. the webpage says that the volume is 20, but the bag is actually 16 liters (same as the original kånken) and Fjällräven’s official page confirms it.

This bag looks more simple and more stylish the white reflective logo and without the typical kånken front pocket. I love the “Carry handles” where I can put whatever I want, also my yoga mat. The ropes are also adjustable so I can change the size of the backpack a little depending on how much stuff I have.

The material feels very durable and does not collect dust or stains easily. The details and fabric inside the bag are nice. This is for you if u want to own just one backpack that you can use anywhere and for a long time.

Timeless, simple, and suitable for city and forest adventures. It’s not very big but can fit a 13-inch laptop and snacks for example. If you fill it with heavy items, the narrow shoulder straps are not the comfiest.

I ordered this for my toddler who is 3 years old and sadly I had to return as it wasn’t practical for what we intended. Wanted it for snacks and his little things to carry around as we don’t need a big diaper bag for him now.

But even just a few things filled up this bag fast! The front pocket is useless as we were only able to fit one snack bar in there, couldn’t even fit his hand wipes in there. His small water bottle doesn’t fit on the side pockets either.

Lastly, the bag is very stiff and the zipper is a little hard for even myself to open and close. Maybe with time it would get better but we need this bag right now and found it best to return. The best thing about this bag is the aesthetic- we got the color sky blue and it’s more of a muted grey/blue in person.

Beautiful color but not practical for what we need.

A little pricey for what you get, but we’ll constructed. Roomy in the main compartment, but I prefer a couple pockets inside my bag for loose items like pens. It has one exterior pocket which has room for a couple smaller items, and then two slip pockets on the side.

The side pockets for water bottles are pretty slim, especially if you have a lot in your bag or items that fit from one side to the next like a laptop. I have a couple water bottles that won’t fit at all.

The laptop pocket is also very tight with the foam pad. I will need to remove the pad. I am pretty small at 5’ and not a bigger person, and the backpack is a bit smaller. I’m a teacher, so I need to carry books and folders along with my laptop, so this will be a tight squeeze this year.

I bought this bag a few weeks ago and have taken it out a few times. I wanted a reliable bag for when I study abroad this fall, so I turned to Swissgear. I cannot undermine how awesome it is that this bag weighs nothing! This is by far the best feature.

My major concern was how much weight I would be carrying on my back as I trek through archaeological sites and cobblestone streets. Upon receiving the backpack and putting it on, I knew I would not have to worry about the backpack bearing on me.

I am a smaller person (5″1′), and it fits snugly onto my back. Definitely not oversized, and it flattens out nicely too! The zippers are nice and smooth, and the bag itself is sturdy. The laptop compartment is lightly padded, so if you have a delicate laptop (like myself) just be careful.

The size of the compartment was larger than I expected, and there’s room for probably a few laptops if you tried. I give this bag 4 stars because it does not have a support strap for the chest or a strap to pull over a luggage handle.

I had hoped for these two features to give me additional support both while walking and at the airport. However, I feel the lightness of the bag will compensate for these two things. The grey color is also lighter than it appears on the website.

It’s nothing major, I was just a little surprised. The pockets are roomy, but it does not seem ideal for stuffing as many things inside of it as possible, just because it has a lot of structure. For me this will help keep me from bringing unnecessary things, but it may be a turn-off for others.

Overall a great backpack, as I expected from this brand. There’s nothing crazy going on with it, but that doesn’t detract from it at all.

I really want to like this bag. It has lots of places to stash things. There’s a sturdy stash area for sunglasses. There’s a reinforced yet cushioned carrying handle with a metal cable inside. And indeed, this backpack will open up entirely for TSA scan with the laptop inside.

HOWEVER, it’s not big enough for my 17” MacBook Pro inside a cushioned case. And worst of all, what makes it a PITA for my every day use is that it keeps coming unzipped, dumpling the contents into the floor, my car, etc.

Sure, I could conscientiously zip the zipper to one side entirely so there’s no stress on the sippers when I pick it up, but that’s not realistic for me. I had such high hopes. I love this brand. It’s clearly made with attention to detail.

Checking out alternative at that A to Z online place, with brands that are just a mishmash of letters, I can see the difference in quality. But the problem with the zipper makes it 2 stars at best for e dry day (student or professional) use.

If it unzipped with my laptop inside I would be beside myself, since I already know a drop of 2-3 feet will crack a MacBook screen. Caveat emptor.

While this backback is wonderful in many ways it has one terrible, fatal flaw. The part that can fully zip open for an “easy TSA inspection” is also something that EASILY unzips on its own! That is what happened to me! That same space has a pouch (without a protective flap) that is designed to hold a tablet.

OK, I had my Lenovo Yoga 9 in the main laptop compartment (an ultrabook, it is light) and my VERY expensive Samsung Tab S7 256 Gb in the tablet pouch in the vulnerable “TSA” zipper part. I had a power adapter and some small cables, along with a lightweight jacket.

That is it. No heavy load on this thing at all. I was extremely careful to make sure everything was zipped up. it was. I’m walking with it slung properly around both shoulders at my back. Not running, not bouncing, just a normal walk down the sidewalk.

Suddenly, I hear a very long-sounding “Zippppppppppppppp!” Felt a jerk and hear something hit the sidewalk. I looked behind me to find this stupid backback completely unzipped at the “TSA friendly” zipper and my Samsung S7 (attached to the official $149 Samsung keyboard case) laying on the ground.

I picked it up and to my horror the screen was hopelessly shattered. THANKS, Swissgear! for FAILING in your most basic responsibility with such a backpack: to protect the delicate electronics inside.

Do NOT get this DEFECTIVE product. Sooner or later, this WILL happen to you! I am EXTREMELY disappointed with Swissgear, after being a very longtime faithful customer of many of their products. No more! They have FAILED in their most basic duty.

Just the right size got 17 inch laptop also a Smaller notebook. Perfect for what I was looking for.

Never got it to work. Wanted to store pictures on it. It would appear to download but could not open them. Even when trying a single picture.

Well made product. Easy to pack in a suitcase (lead measures 1.5m).

Lots of compartments to keep clothes separated and neat. It’s got a tech pouch to keep your chargers and batteries. It’s got Laptop slot for your laptop or tablet. You’re able to hide the backpack straps (which are very comfortable) and use a padded shoulder strap if you prefer.

Also has a handle on the side to carry more like a briefcase or duffel. The very front pocket has space to put your keys, pens, and anything else small. Expandable water bottle pouch on the side. They literally thought of everything with this one.

The perfect carry on bag that’s also a backpack.

Perfect in every aspect. Fits overhead fits under seat. It’s a backpack with the features of a well compartmentalized suitcase and so much more. It’s also quite elegant and very well made. I got so many compliments on this backpack.

Totally worth the money. In an age when overhead bags are just small, hard suitcases this bag will have you in and out of the overhead in a jiffy while others pull and tug.

Wow how did no one think of this brilliant concept sooner? This is the perfect carry on backpack. It will meet airline standards and fit all your essentials from clothing, electronics/laptop, toiletries.

It has dozens of awesome and secret compartments. Super lightweight and comfy while moving through the airport. Definitely worth the price point. Samsonite has never disappointed me.
