There are many different types of ant traps, and not all of them are safe for pets. Some ant traps contain poisonous chemicals that can be harmful to animals if they come into contact with them. Other ant traps use sticky substances that can trap and kill insects, but may also be hazardous to pets if they accidentally step on them.
If you are concerned about safety, it is best to choose an ant trap that does not use any toxic chemicals or sticky substances.

This stuff has a very strong not so good smell after u put it down. But just know use some plugin r burn some candles 2help kill the smell. BUT I DONT EVEN BUY BUG SPRAY ANYMORE!!! ITS THIS R NOTHIN!!! THIS STUFF REALLY REALLY WORKS.
EVEN IF U PUT IT IN A SPRAY BOTTLE 4THE HARD 2REACH SPOT & ADD A LIL WATER 2IT. IT STILL WORKS. I LIVE IN A 4 8 1/2 YEARS & I PUT SOME DOWN 4DAYS B4 WE MOVED IN & DIDNT USE IT AGAIN IN THAT SAME HOUSE UNTIL 5YEARS LATER!!! I HAD SOME NASTY NEXT DOOR NEIGHBORS 2MOVE IN.
BUT I PUT THIS DOWN & RAN THEM RT BACK OVER THERE WHATEVER IT WAS COMIN FROM OVER THERE!!! ITS WORTH THE MONEY I WONT B DISAPPOINTED I PROMISE U!!!.
I’ve tried other products and it just made the ants move to a new mound. Surrender works great, kills them ALL the first time. I followed the instructions to apply and it killed every single ant in every single mound of fire ants, within 12 hours or less! I had at least 50 ant mounds in my yard, which are gone now.
Stinks like crazy, but it worth it because it works! Highly recommend this product.
I’ve been using this stuff for the past few years. Before that, I tried a bunch of different things that were supposed to get rid of ants. Mostly, the ants just laughed at whatever I tried and laughed at me for wasting my money.
With Surrender, they’re gone. Wiped out! This stuff is super stinky. That said, I keep it sealed in it’s container and the container sealed in a heavy duty zip lock bag and I store it in a cupboard in the laundry room.
Ants instinctively know the colony needs both sugar and protein to thrive. Scientists have devised a dual-bait formula that includes protein and carbohydrate, in a form that’s easy to ingest and transport.
When placed where ant activity is seen, the foraging ants enter the RESCUE bait station to find food. Some ingest the sugar gel while others chew off the protein bait. Both are taken back to the nest to share with the colony.
Sugar is fed to the other workers, while protein is fed to the larvae. The RESCUE bait not only kills the workers, it also wipes out the queen and the next generation of ants.
I have been dealing with ants inside my house every single year and I’ve tried various things to get rid of them. When the weather starts to get warm, I find them literally everywhere in my house-bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen (countertops and cabinets) even on my dining room table as well as in my sugar bowl! The ants in my house are HUGE, not the tiny ones either.
A friend of mine suggested sprinkling cinnamon down but that wasn’t effective. I was afraid to try any pesticides because of my kids and dog so I was excited to try these ant baits. I set these up in places where I saw ants such as the kitchen, by the back & side doors and actually I wanted to monitor it closely so I eventually moved one on my windowsill.
I actually did notice it didn’t take long (1 day or so) and I saw 2 ants inside one of the bait traps and they were gone the next day. So yes, ants are attracted to the bait. I also did notice a couple of ants here and there and they actually seemed like they were in a fog, moving slowly and erratically so my guess is they ingested some of the bait.
These baits do work and if I do see an ant, it’s usually one here or there, nothing like it used to be where they would be everywhere. It’s a great product that I know I’ll purchase again especially at the first sign of warm weather!.
We’ve had great results so far with these ant baits from Rescue. I’ve had varying success with other methods of killing ants – made my own pet-safe bait, tried other baits, used spray killer/barrier.
Those things generally work for a bit but not completely and I hate having to spray around the entire house every two weeks. I noticed that these were for both indoor and outdoor use and decided to try them outside.
I put three around a flowerbed ants come from every year that I’ve never been able to eradicate them from. and in less than two weeks, I haven’t seen any ant activity from that bed! It’s amazing! There is no mess, the baits are clean and self-contained and I wasn’t worried about a neighborhood cat getting into them.
It rained a few days after I put them out and I was worried they might have been ruined, but they were still attracting and killing ants when I checked, they didn’t get water-logged. Just one package of 6 traps significantly reduced all the ant activity I was seeing around my house, and I absolutely plan on getting more to finish them off.
So pumped I’ve finally found something for ants I can highly recommend!.
Color: red feature: protects your hummingbird feeder from antsspecially designed moat is impassable to antssize is 3in w x 3. 75in h. Plated for withstanding outdoor elementssimple to install and maintain ant trap – trap-it moat protects your hummingbird or bird feeders from foraging ants the trap-it ant moat is the perfect addition for your hummingbird or oriole feeder so that you end up feeding your hummingbirds and not ant colonies.
The trap-it was expertly designed by engineer rex hiday in 1989 and has been a mainstay in gardens since then. Ants and other nuisance insects are hesitant and unable to cross deep or wide barriers of water.
The trap-it ant moat separates ants from your feeder by creating a small but impenetrable wall of water. Hang your trap-it from a branch, post, or house and then attach your feeder to the trap-it’s bottom hook.
Now, any ants out looking for an easy meal will find themselves drowning in the impassable trap-it ocean. Fill with only 6 oz of water and you will find your investment in bird feed won’t be carried away by a colony of ants.
With the trap-it you will have the best item to enjoy and protect your hummingbird feeder. Protect your investment and your hummingbirds with the simple addition of the trap-it ant moat.
Bright red so it attracts the birds. Ants and other non swimming bugs cannot get across the mote so they do not get to the hummingbird food as long as you keep water in it. It holds enough water so that it is not a daily task to remember to fill it.
To kill common household ants, simply place TERRO Liquid Ant Baits stations near indoor areas where ants are spotted. Ants enter the trap, consume the liquid ant bait and return to the nest where they pass on the bait to the rest of the colony.
TERRO Liquid Ant Baits are specifically formulated to allow worker ants to consume the product and survive long enough to carry the liquid back to the nest and deliver a dose to the rest of the colony.
The liquid ant bait stations prevent the bait from drying out and provide the ants with a continuous supply of liquid, day and night. Monitor the baits regularly for activity, but do not interfere with the ants or baits.
Replace with additional baits when the first set is depleted. Depending on the size of the ant infestation, complete control may take up to two weeks.
Last year I had a problem with pharaoh ants in one of my kitchen cupboards. I ended up finding out how they were getting in, and blocked up the entry way. Problem solved. Or so I thought. They ended up coming back again this year, with a vengeance.
I did speak with a pest control specialist, and he told me that pharaoh ants are notoriously difficult to get rid of, but that I should try the bait and wait 5-7 days to see how it works before engaging him.
I am happy to say that it has been less than 48 hours since I first set out the bait, and it appears to be working beautifully. I did end up pouring some of it onto a sheet of paper, to ensure that the ants could access it.
(I was concerned that they wouldn’t be able to find the entry way to the liquid, as it is off the surface of the cupboard. ) Once they found the bait, they went on a feeding frenzy. Two days in, and I am down to about 5 ants milling about.
This is a HUGE improvement from the dozens I was seeing two days ago! If I can offer one piece of advice. trust the process. It is alarming to see the bait attracting even more ants when you first set it out, but this means its working! Resist the urge to move it or interfere in anyway, I promise you will see progress within a matter of hours!.
As the weather warmed up, we started seeing a few tiny black ants on our kitchen counter every day. I couldn’t tell where the ants were coming from. I dealt with them by squashing them. One day, though, there were about 20 ants, so I decided to get serious.
I ordered the Terro Liquid Ant Baits which arrived in a few days. I put one out on the counter, but didn’t see much ant traffic. Next day I put two more on the floor below the counter. Within a few hours I had a continuous stream of ants coming from a crack in the frame of a nearby door.
It was like something out of a nature documentary. I half expected Sir David Attenborough to show up and start narrating. The ants were all heading for the baits, crawling all over and into them. I was afraid I had just made matters worse.
Would I be overrun by ants demanding food? However, the next day the ants were gone, except for a few that died in the traps. That was five days ago, and I haven’t seen a single ant since. If they show up again, I’ll know what to do.

6. Duke Dog Proof Raccoon Trap
Dog proof so that you don’t accidentally nab a pet in the process
Innovative coil spring trap features a fully enclosed design that your dog can’t accidentally get caught in by stepping on
Fully enclosed design and fast action
Powerful coil spring trap with enclosed trigger system
Tired of putting up with the damage from masked bandits? The Duke Raccoon Trap will show those pesky varmints who the boss is. It’s the humane solution designed by experienced trappers. Its simple design has a bait tube, tempered spring, lever, laser-cut trigger, cap and padding.
The 10 inch twin loop anchoring chain is strength rated to 110 lbs. No need to bury it, simply bait it, anchor it and leave it exposed. The trap takes care of the rest, so you can come back at your leisure to check for any captives.
100% field tested for effectiveness and reliability Ready to use right out of the box Shock spring prevents animal injury Ideal for fur trapping and nuisance control Measures 6 inch Weighs 1 lb. , 4 oz.
I have been struggling all season to discourage a raccoon(s) from raiding my bird feeders. Nothing was working. The last straw was when it/they almost completely ruined my vegetable garden doing a lot of physical damage besides eating or destroying an astonishing amount of produce.
I got a raccoon on the first night I set it out. A word of caution, be sure to anchor the trap’s chain VERY securely. I had mine wired to a a T post with a heavy steel wire that I thought was more than sufficient yet the raccoon managed to break the wire and had dragged the trap a considerable distance.
The dog proof design is quite clever and I believe it will prevent accidental trapping of a dog. However, I think cats may be susceptible. An examination of the trapped raccoon (after I dispatched it), revealed that the raccoon had a compound fracture of its leg.
Any pet that is caught by this trap will be very severely injured, so, if domestic pets are present, be careful in their use, location and bait. The spring is very stiff and setting the trap takes a little practice but once you get the knack it is quick and easy to do.
I’ve been using 2 of these traps for 3 years now around the garden and bird feeders. Never had one where the bait was robbed and no raccoon, and never had a raccoon get away. I’ve had egg traps, live traps, leg hold traps, and none can compare to this trap.
By FAR the best raccoon trap I’ve ever owned, and they’re inexpensive compared to others. Early in the year I drop a little peanut butter into the bottom and 10-12 kernels of corn, then smear a little peanut butter around the rim to attract them.
Later summer I use marshmallow at the bottom of the trap and one sitting over the hole on top for attraction. Bait at the bottom must be below the trigger! Also I’m trapping only on my property which is why I can trap all year.
(in Wisconsin) Definitely ordering more traps now.
Duke body gripping traps are rotating jaw traps used to quickly catch and dispatch wild animals. This style of trap was developed during the 1950’s and has steadily increased in use due to the versatility and effectiveness of the trap design.
Duke body traps such as sizes #330 and #280 are widely accepted by state and federal wildlife agencies as the most effective humane traps for beaver population control.
They came a day early! Got the traps on Monday evening, its now Thursday morning (three days) and I have already caught three (ALMOST four!) squirrels, and three rats! I just used a piece of coconut husk (about an inch wide and two or three inches long) and jammed it up onto the trigger, and smeared peanut butter on it.
This trap works very well. Its specialty is squirrels, but it also catches rats. I would use a rat trap for rats, but it does indeed catch rats. Below is a young rat with his friend, the squirrel, along with my setup, and how it catches them.
This stuff is great! I first had a neighbor recommend it years ago and I swear by it! It’s really simple to use. You just put a few drops out on a scrap of cardboard (they provide you with a few squares too), place it out of your way close to a known ant path.
They will find it and SWARM it bc they love the stuff and take it back to the nest. where it kills the whole colony. Within about 36 hrs, the ants quit coming and you can clear put your cardboard piece, wipe down the area (to destroy pheromone trail and clean up any residue) and you’re done! No more ants.
I bought a bottle several years ago, used it 3 or 4 times in the first couple years i had it and rarely see ants again (which is my cue to break back into the bottle). I still haven’t finished off the bottle all these years later!.
First, a confession. I never write reviews and am very suspicious of those others have wriiten. However, this product works so well, it deserves to be praised. As others have stated, it works just as advertised.
Put. small amount down on a one-inch square of cardboard, then leave it alone. The ants WILL swarm the bait and then return it to kill the entire nest. They leave scent trails for the other ants to find the bait.
So BE SURE YOU DO NOT MOVE OR CLEAN THE AREA AROUND THE BAIT ONCE IS IN PLACE. Leave in place for the others to find. We have been using Terro Liquid for years, and have never been disappointed.

I had carpenter ants. Tried for alnost 2 months to get rid of them. With this product, you can apply the gel directly to areas all around the outside of the house where you see ant activity. I just squeezed it directly onto a number of areas.
A tree base, around door frames, siding, outside vents to the crawlspace under the house, etc. Used 2 of tge 4 tubes. Within 3 days I saw their population go down significantly. By a week, it looks like they are gone! I have tried 2 other products first.
The ants didn’t care and actually hung out around the bait traps for weeks. That was another area I applied some of the gel. They have all disappeared. From what I’m seeing so far, I’d recommend.
Best ant bait I’ve EVER used. I used this product on carpenter ants several years ago. Took 5 weeks but got ride of them. This time just the tiny sugar ants but they were persistent. Coming up from crawl space into bathroom for water.
Exterminator treatment only lasted a week. Laid down a strip of Advion gel and they came an ate for a week and since then nothing. Not one ant. They evidently shared with their colony. Downside is that MANY come and eat and you must be patient and allow them to take over the eating area until entire colony has eaten.
could take a few weeks of seeing a LOT more ants than before, but tha’ts how it works. A quick kill would only kill that ant, not their friends. Be patient.
Attract and kill the ants you see and the ones you dont with TERRO Liquid Ant Baits. The liquid, which contains borax, is specifically designed to allow worker ants to consume the product, survive long enough to carry the liquid back to the nest.

Since this is a bait product, you will initially see more ants as they are attracted to the liquid but dont worry, this is a good thing. After the bait is consumed, insect populations will begin to decline.
Complete control may take up to two weeks. For your convenience, TERRO Liquid Ant Baits are easy to use and feature a new and improved snap-off tab design no scissors needed! To open the bait, hold the station vertically and twist the new and improved tab.

Works very well to kill pests listed on the product. We’ve used it for several years now. We use it both outside our house and inside. The quart will last quite a while if mixed according to the instructions.
We highly recommend this product- it is fantastic!! No bugs inside at all!! No spiders, no ants, and no earwigs!! We have a covered front porch & patio on back of our house, and when I wake up in the morning, there’s dead bugs laying all around the perimeter of the house!! I can’t say enough good things about this product!!.
Thus is the best product I have ever found. No more mosquitos! I can enjoy my deck and outside for weeks. I reapply every 3-4 weeks. A little pricy but worth every penny. I put the whole bottle in my 35 gal sprayer and spray the grass and use the wand to spray the house foundation and deck.
Hidden gem that is worth every penny! The difference between the neighboring yard and yours is night and day with this spray. On occasion this has been out of stock but would rather have bugs in my yard then waste my money on another product! We just wait until it’s back in stock.
