20 Best All In One Printer Under 150 (2022 Updated)

When my HP 5640 gave up the ghost after nearly 10 years of reliable service, I needed to replace it with a printer of similar quality whose cost would not break my piggy bank. I found this printer, the price was right, and it had several features my now departed printer did not have (such as scan and copy).

When I received it, I was surprised by how lightweight it was. But setting it up was a snap (directions included for doing so were clear and easy to follow). Inserting the ink cartridges was a new experience since they required being “snapped” into place instead of closing a spring-loaded cover.

However, when I loaded it up with paper (the feeder is substantially smaller than what I was used to with my previous printer), turned it on, and then had my laptop print its first page to it, I was satisfied with the result.

I was pleased to see that I could also “print” to a PDF format instead of paper, if I chose that option. This printer also has the capability of using a Wi-Fi connection via a router using Bluetooth protocols), and that means more than one device can use it from anywhere within range PLUS one can use a cellphone or tablet (with Wi-Fi capability) to print out a document to it.

I did not try that option, so I do not know how well it works. But the best featureis that the printer can order additional ink cartridges when it senses they are getting low–provided you set that option up with HP when you register the printer AND as long as you leave the Wi-Fi connection open.

I also tried the scan and copy functions, and they worked quite well. However, both those functions work only with standard paper, so things like framed photos and the like cannot be done. All in all, this printer will serve my needs AND the ink cartridges are substantially less expensive than they were for my previous printer (like about a third the cost), so that definitely makes up for any “inconveniences” there may be with this printer–as in paper loading is not quite as simple as loading a tray and the receiving tray does not extend out long enough to properly hold the printed sheets without them slipping off onto the floor.

Also there is no reverse print option, so printing out a series of pages that are meant to be in order will need to be reversed by hand. And while the software accommodates two-sided printing, that must be done one at a time by hand (while the printer waits for you to flip the sheet and then it in the paper tray a second time) as each side is ready to be printed.

I will also be interested to see how long the ink cartridges last compared to what I used before. However, the two supplied “beginner” cartridges (that supposedly held much less ink than the “regular” ones I will need to buy did provide me with two good weeks of printing, or about 150 pages total.

The regular cartridges claim to produce at least double that. The unique aspect was that the software needed to run the printer had to be downloaded from a dedicated website and not from a disk, but once installed it identified my printer and all worked well.

It includes features like choosing specific pages to print (helpful when you only need certain pages–like from a multi-paged digital document), adjusting margins, adjusting print quality (draft, normal, best) and resolution (up to 1200 dpi), and having access to a wide variety of paper sizes Including envelopes, index cards, etc.

I found the printer even worked well with label sheets and photo paper, but I doubt that anything thicker or stiffer than that would not be handled by this printer. So if you’re looking for a printer that can handle relatively light printing demands from home uses, then this one is perfect.

If you are looking for something to handle the level of a typical office’s output, then I would suggest looking for a different model. But either way, I can say that HP is a brand I totally trust for reliability.

I bought this printer thinking it would have the basics for an older couple with an up to date Windows 10 PC I was helping who do not have WiFi, but just wired internet. All printers I have ever bought have either worked by just plugging it in by USB, or by downloading a driver from the official website.

I went through the HP Smart App Prompts several times, and the printer was “Setup” and “Ready”, but all I could do was print test pages from the app. I even tried setting it up through Windows Printers/Scanners List, but still would have issues.

In all other applications like Microsoft Edge or Microsoft Word, the print jobs would get stuck in queue and go no where. As an IT, I tried several ways to get it working with printing from other apps, but it would not work.

Removing the printer, then re-setting it up. There was no way this older couple I was helping was going to figure this out if I was having a hay day with it. I like the printer, and it printed clearly, that part is great.

it just doesn’t support Windows 10 PCs from my knowledge, and nothing on the HP website I tried worked, and so I ran out of drivers/programs from their website to try. I have used the HP Envy 5070, and the HP Envy 7855 that use the very same HP Smart App as this 3755.

Those work, amazingly, almost to the point that you can plug and play. So the issues with 3755 was baffling. I went ahead an returned it, as it won’t work with Windows 10 computers it seems. If you are looking for a decent printer, look for a higher number of model than 3755 and spend the extra money.

I recently bought this printer/scanner for my mother-in-law. The idea was to get her a scanner that she can easily connect with her smartphone (she does not own a laptop) to scan and save all her old print photos of herself and her family.

I didn’t want to get her something fancy that offers lots of features she won’t need and is too expensive for someone who uses the scanner maybe once every few months. Practically every store I went to recommended this HP printer/scanner, so I figured we’d give it a shot.

After scanning a whole photo album I have to say I am not impressed with it. The colors of the pictures appear significantly more faded on the scans than they actually are, the HP Smart app keeps losing the connection to any of the smartphones I’ve tried using (Apple, Samsung Galaxy), all scans need to be cropped manually within the app, and the scanner does not always „grab“ a picture correctly or gets stuck halfway through.

Printing seems to be alright, I’ve tested printing some documents without much color and haven’t noticed anything off about it. To summarize, if you are a techie that knows how to deal with apps and wireless connections or mostly use the product for printing it should be a cheap and decent option for you.

But for my 70+ year old mother-in-law and her autistic daughter, a simple task as scanning a picture with this product can turn into an almost impossible task. Would not buy this again, not even for myself.

I’m several weeks into use, but to date I find this to be an excellent choice for a B&W laser printer with manual scanning if you don’t need (or want) a document auto-feed feature. My usage level is light, home-based, less than 10 pages per day.

If you’re looking for auto-feed, then the corresponding Brother model is MFC-L2750DW. The absence of auto-feed reduces the machine height somewhat and provides a basically flat top surface along with a smoother opening of the top to access the glass scanning surface (for manual scanning) compared with the MFC-L2750DW, when I compared the two models side-by-side.

The printer works with a Window 10 driver (I believe) for easy printing. In any case, after installing the Brother software, I have been able to print directly from open documents without having to open separately a Brother program.

The printing is a bit noisy, but it’s nice that the paper delivery remains securely inside the machine body (as portrayed in pictures) rather than shooting out as is often the case with less expensive machines that are strictly printers.

Regarding the scanner: I don’t think there is a built-in Windows driver. I installed the Brother program, which has multiple options for different types of documents and colors. The program though does seem a bit more cumbersome to operate compared with the Epsom scanning program that I used previous (on an Epsom machine before that machine became inoperative).

It does have more features, though. (Remember that while you can scan a color document to create a color electronic document, you of course can only print in B&W. ) I’ve not used the copy function. Thus over all I rate this 5-star so far, as the shortcomings I’ve encountered so far are based more on comparison with an ideal standard rather than representing any technical issues.

I bought this Brother’s model because I gave my wife a nice, new Apple Mac Pro for her birthday and discovered my trusty HL5370-DW would not print anything from the kingdom of Apples. And, like that model, that has chugged along, creating literally tens of thousands of perfectly printed copies (cards, notes, letters, envelopes) over years and years, this one works perfectly.

PLUS, I now can replace my old HP 3-in-1 (that was only used for scanning) and an old Xerox (that was only used for photocopying), with a model that will not only do what the 3 machines did, but does it faster, with memory for the printing, a nifty little screen to tell it what you want to do, and all for the same footprint.

My only (slight) complaint is a little “crack-buzz” as it comes to life and warms up – which it does quite quickly. I have yet to try the scanner function – I use my phone for so much of that these days.

But, when I do, I’ll try checking back in and keep you updated. One thing I wish it had: the 5370 took a very high-capacity toner cartridge that easily printed over 8,000 copies. I could not find such a high-capacity cartridge for the L2395.

Still my wife has retired from teaching (that generated vast numbers of papers) and I am also doing far less correspondence. Plus, now I can print directly from my iPhone and my wife’s iPad, as well as the new Samsung (Windows11) machine I just got from BestBuy.

So, this is an all-around winner in our household. I waited a bit before reviewing to be sure that the machine would perform well. Have printed cards, envelopes, photos (b&w proofs), copied, 1-sided, 2-sided, card stock, and thin stock.

I’ve used every phone and other device that prints and it talks to them all and does a great job. Would recommend to any friend who wants a good, b&w printer that will NOT cost a lot to operate for years to come.

I have worn out a lot of printers in my time — Panasonic, HP, and Brother. I have come to massively prefer Brother. I bought a Brother printer (printer only, no scan or copy) when I went to graduate school in 2012.

The key feature that sold me was the paper tray capacity of 250 sheets. Wonderful for printing drafts and drafts of papers for my classes, and my master’s thesis. That printer gave excellent service for several years, until it finally gave up the ghost just last year.

It lasted longer than any other printer I have had. As I said, I can wear out a printer. This current printer also has a 250 sheet paper tray, again a big selling point for me. I have made good use of the scanning function, and some use of the copy function, and they have worked just fine.

The scanning needs to have a little bit bigger field, as the right margin gets cut off just a tiny bit, but not a big problem. I haven’t had to replace the toner cartridge yet, so we’ll see how big a bite that will be in the wallet.

One complaint I have is a complaint I have about all software these days — no printed manual. I’m 75 years old, which means I am old school. Having to go online to get to a manual sometimes is a royal pain in the sitting-down place.

Having to leave the screen I’m working on to get to the copy of the manual I downloaded is also a pain. I’d rather have a printed manual, like we used to in the early days of home computers, that I could hold in my lap while remaining in my workspace.

That way, I don’t have to switch back and forth from the manual to my work, and forget the instruction I just read while I’m getting back to my workspace.

This printer has some good features and some bad features. Starting with the installation it is far below other printers in ease of setup. Part of this was due to the problem that my computer could not find the printer over wireless, even though the printer was right next to the computer.

Finally, I had to go to the printer itself and use its controls to connect wirelessly. This caused another problem in that the printer’s physical interface is rather primitive and entering the WiFi password was cumbersome.

Once connected next (at the printer), it asked if I wanted to update the firmware. I began the process when I was asked to enter the WiFi password at the printer again (or so I thought). I eventually found out it was not the WiFi password being requested, but instead a password that is on a label on the back of the printer.

I found this out when I updated the firmware from the computer interface and the installation software at the computer told me it wanted the password from the back of the printer. Bottom line is that although this printer has a more affordable price, the printer controls should be updated and also the software in the printer should be updated as well.

Now on the good side. This is a well-made printer that does print well and is very sturdy. It does not print very vibrantly but its printing is satisfactory. The printed documentation to setup the printer was clear enough to get things installed not withstanding my comments above.

I would recommend this printer as an entry level unit at a very nice price considering the printing features it provides like fax, scanning and document feeder. You also get some nice utilities via the ‘Brother Creative’ application which is included.

I decided to start my own business and work from home. I needed a new printer that I could use my phone with the printer. I came across this brother printer and decided to purchase it. That was the best decision I made for my business.

This printer is absolutely amazing. It is so easy to use you can control everything with the printer from your phone which makes everything so much easier and faster. Sometimes I do not have time to sit down and get on my laptop to do everything I need to use my phone and carry it around to get test completed and it helps to be able to type what I need into my phone and the printer delivers what I’m asking for.

The quality is absolutely amazing with this printer technology has come so far and once again brother has done an amazing job with another great product.

The printer was advertised as coming with installation CD and manual, however neither was in the box from HP. There was only a page referring you to their on-line set-up, which would be a problem if internet is not available.

It did not come with a printer cable, although that was indicated on box. After much trouble trying to install the printer via the Wi-Fi options, and downloading the necessary software and instructions, it would not work on the local network where we were staying.

Locating the necessary files and information was challenging on the HP support site, which directed you to unrelated help pages if you used the search function. Once installed, any attempt to print a page using the local wi-fi port option crashed my computer completely, requiring a hard shut-down and restart to regain control of the computer (Windows 97) after a page partially prints out.

The same result if any attempt to scan a document with it. Only by shutting off all wi-fi functions of the printer and using a separately purchased USB cable could successful printing and scanning be achieved.

That said, once the horrors of getting the unit set up were done, the print quality and speed is good, as is the scan operation, if somewhat cumbersome to access via their interface. The printer is compact, and easily portable, and the battery power is likely to be useful, although I have not used it so far, other than having to spend the two hours to charge the battery before being able to set it up.

However, be aware that if you are traveling and not on a home or business network, the wireless functions are useless, and operation is only possible using a direct cable connection to the printer. If you don’t need the scan and copy functions, I would look to a different manufacturer.

I would expect the problems would be the same with the HP print-only version as the set-up software appears to be the same for both the OJ-200 (printer only) and OJ-250 (all in one) versions. If you do purchase it, get the extended Staples warranttee on it, as based on my other experience with HP printers, they fail after a year or so, and it is expensive compared to non-portable units.

It does NOT come with all items needed to work after set up!! I do not mind needing additional set up since it is a multi-function machine. But come on now! No user manual with instructuons, no printed sheet with easy set up that lists AT LEAST the LINKS NEEDED to DOWNLOAD more set up just to simply PRINT A DOCUMENT.

No cord to connect to laptop! (Only wireless printing!). Ok but more downloading for since it is “wireless”. Hum, still can’t use it. I HAVE NEVER PURCHASED A PRINTER REQUIRING such work to set up. Over an hour of set up time and still cannot print a single document.

Followed all instructions and nothing, nada, zero.

After un-boxing the Epson XP-5200, my first impression was WOW – the compact size of this thing for all of the advertised functions (print, copy and scan) is impressive. I could easily see this being great for the small, makeshift work-from-home office setup or a great companion for a student’s dorm room – both scenarios where space may be considerably limited.

The setup was easy enough and then it was off to print some test pages. Text looks great. Almost laser-like at a quick glance. Color is good, but I wouldn’t say that prints are on-par or better than photo lab quality.

Although if you were printing graphics in a report or say a letter-sized poster or sign, this would likely be more-than-sufficient for that. In addition to the compact size, this printer is pretty quiet and fast.

The AirPrint (or printing from my iPhone/iPad) was pretty seamless to setup. Once, the printer is connected to your WiFi (which this process is greatly simplified due to the ease of the menu layouts), you go to an app that supports printing on your iPhone/iPad and once you tap on the printer you get all sorts of customization options for the print job at hand.

Also worth noting, this printer supports direct connection in those scenarios where you may not be able to connect it to traditional WiFi — for instance some dorms (for security) do not let you have your own WiFi networks, so you can have the printer broadcast it’s own wireless signal and your iPhone/iPad can [wirelessly] directly connect to it.

There’s also an app from Epson that gives you a lot more control and functionality but I did not personally test that out (although it has great reviews on the App Store). The other great thing about this printer is the paper tray design – it loads from the front which means if you end up having to put this on a shelf, the paper input and output trays are easily accessible from the front of the machine.

To conserve paper, the printer also supports duplexed (or double-sided) printing. If I had to be picky, here are some things I’d improve about this printer: (1) the screen is a little small. I feel like instead of the buttons around the screen to control what’s on the screen, a large touchscreen would’ve been a better use of the real estate.

(2) I LOVE that this printer uses individual inks – so you can just run out and get whatever color runs out, versus tri-color systems where if you only used up one color you’d still have to toss the whole cartridge because all the colors are in a shared tank.

So why are the inks a con? Well printers are interesting – if you go smaller on the printer, you inherently have to go smaller on the size (and capacity) of cartridges that go inside the printers – simply put, you may be saving by having individual inks, but you’re likely going to end up spending more over time because the cartridges just don’t hold a ton of ink to begin with.

This is especially true if you’re going to print photos since they require a ton more ink to recreate than say a mostly-text-based document and also because to get the best photo prints, you should really purchase the appropriate inkjet photo paper — which again is adding to the cost and going to use more ink to saturate the paper.

(3) Inks are pretty hard to find at this point – could be because this is a newer model, but before I go into buying something like a printer, I’d like to know the true operating cost and a part of that is knowing how much ink refills are.

It also doesn’t appear that they offer high capacity cartridges for this model. TLDR summary. It’s a great everyday printer. It’s fairly easy to use and the resolution (or print quality) is impressive for the compact size.

I’d improve the screen size and functionality (full-touch screen) on future models and make inks more accessible and focus on maintaining a low operating / ink cost.

Great printer. However! The serial number on this Canon printer was not acceptable to Canon to register the printer. I called Walmart and they told me to call Canon to see what was the problem. I tried to call Canon but they would not talk to me without being registered, which was what I was trying to do.

There is something wrong with these printers that Walmart is selling. The serial number does not match what is acceptable in the US and Walmart seems unable to help. I don’t want to send the printer back.

Walmart, can you help?.

A few of the reviews of this printer state that print paper can be fed from the front as well as the rear. This model is rear feed only. Since it’s impossible to mis-state this if you own one, it is reasonable to conclude that is that some of these review are bogus.

Whoever has the biggest incentive to assure genuine reviews really needs to address this. The idea of separate tanks is appealing, since it creates a sense of economical operation compared to the unified tank designs.

But you can still expect to use a lot of ink, per my own experience and according to cost-per-page comparisons I have read online. I don’t have a problem with this – every printer sold neds a strategy to make money and this is what happens with low cost printers.

Finally, if you want to avoid the wireless setup but also want to print from two computers in the same room, consider a 2. 0 Manual Switch Selector, such as the Newlink sold elsewhere on eBay. The auto selector switches are in theory a better solution, but there seems to be a fair number of complaints about them.

Without breaking the bank, this compact printer does a fine job. It is perfect when you don’t want something the size of a Mini Cooper. Using the Android app, the wireless capability was a snap to set up.

After aligning the unit, I was completely satisfied with both the B/W and color printing. Checking out the photo capabilities was the big surprise using the enclosed photo paper. Photos were coming out looking better than those printed by Ye Local Drug Shoppe.

Experimenting further, I purchased the Canon Pro Paper Sampler pack to test out the quality on high grade paper with different finishes. The results are excellent. Colors are vivid and deep with first-rate sharpness and clarity.

The scanner also provides high quality imaging for standard copying and digital storage. The unit is very simple to use. If you don’t need a bunch of bells and whistles, like duplex printing, collating, or multiple paper feeds, this printer handle your needs.

I bought this printer 13 months ago. I just started a small business and use it primarily for printing out black and white documents and color documents every once in a while. I used to have an hp desk jet 15 years ago that lived to be 10+ years so I felt confident buying this brand.

Big mistake, as with most companies that date back everything has turned subscription based. I am not a fan of their cartridge program because I do not like the fact that hp has access to the documents I print (highly sensitive).

I declined this feature for security and left me with the inability to get help when my printer was having issues. Another big issue with this printer is the cost of the cartridge if you aren’t involved in their program.

The printer really doesn’t print that much for each cartridge and it would have been cheaper to go to a fedex and print there. The bluetooth portion of the printer has been a complete joke. Each time I want to print, none of my devices can see the printer’s bluetooth.

I have to go the printer restart it completely and then restart my device each time. Not really sure the bluetooth is working properly. I also have a Macbook and apparently hp is not compatible so you can’t get into any settings without downloading their app.

But even the app cannot pick up on the bluetooth. The worst part about this printer is that in this 13th month of having this printer, it started taking 10 mins to print each page. I went to customer service but because I am now a month out of my 1 year warranty I don’t qualify for any customer assistance other than their virtual assistant which only answers up to 4 questions.

I would have expected better support. With all that said, I buying a new printer (different brand) and going to destroy this one ‘Office Space’ style before I have an aneurysm.

I was looking for a new printer as my previous Canon wore out (bought in 2004) after a very long reliable service being used several times a week printing photographs. I contacted Canon & spoke to a very helpful gentleman who suggested several options.

However, Canon was unable to provide any of these models, John Lewis was recommended me. As I have used John Lewis for other appliances, I was happy to contact them. This model was in stock and was delivered in two days.

The instructions to set it up were clear, although I must admit as I am of an older generation, I had some help from my son. I still find it easier to follow a paper booklet A basic introduction paper instruction was included.

The quality of the photographs it produces is excellent It is a neat, compact machine; I still have to see how long the inks last. So far, I would recommend this printer.

This is a perfect printer for crafting. I purchased this printer from HSN about two years ago. Wireless printing with a mobile device was a little tricky at first. But if you follow the online manual it’s rather simple.

There is also a PDF version available. You are not charged by Canon to print from your mobile device as another reviewer stated. You can print from your home network for free. You simply turn on WiFi on your mobile device, and connect to the same network that you printer is connected to.

Printing on 12×12 cardstock is no problem either. Load your paper in the rear tray, adjust the guides, and select your media in the printer dialogue box.

I got this printer after seeing it advertised on HSN during a craft day. As an avid hobby crafter, I wanted a good printer for printing my own die cuts as well as some pictures. It does the job pretty well however, there is a very, very limited list of paper to select from considering it can print up to 12×12.

there isn’t an option for Labels or Sticker paper. just a basic generic setting for cardstock. I probably won’t be getting another Canon after this one eventually dies. My prints are not up to the quality they could be.

Disappointed in that respect. I’m not sure if it is a Mac issue or just a Canon Pixma TS9520 issue or what. No really updates to firmware that address this issue.

Pros: Very easy to set up in wireless mode from marrying up with computer and server and printer. Fast printing from computer interface through wireless server. Set up process well described on the CD ROM and passwords as well as the descriptions in the hand book.

Did not make assumption that a person was fully IT Literate. Well packed for transit but see the improvement point relating to certain items being able to be missed. Machine itself good value for macro business and general home use, but as mention in the improvement points, would be wary of high voloume useOnly two cartridges for toner/ink supply so cheaper to run, BUT at the moment the longevity of those two cartidges unproven.

Given the capicities it has indeed very quiete in scan and print modes. (Unable to comment about faxing as not used function yet). Nice and light, but as in improvement point adjacent, concern would be that if nudged around too much that could be equally a negative point due to the potential sensitivity of the Print Head as the machine may not have the weight to keep in position if nudged too hard.

Certainly for a small busines/ private operation good value for money; larger commerical operation possibly could use a lot of ink and again get too hot for voloume printing. Cons: A bit fiddly unpacking, need to be very careful that ALL the packing, particularly the little tapes to keep the glass and internal mechanics from moving in transt.

Although in a light red still a lot of “bits” to take out and could be easily missed. Not sure if I would rely on the life of the cartridges in heavy use, inview with issues with similar TS Products Print head could be a bit too fragile if high voloume printing and could get too hot.

Speed in opening up from “cold” ie. not used over night can be a bit slow, but once first print out and even if used intermitently in the day, no real issue. I am not sure if it would take “rough handling” i.

e. being nudged or moved too much. Ironically a rare occasion where it actually could do with being heavier for stability reasons.

Shipment: Was quick and to the agreed pick-up-point (don’t laugh – I had packages sent to different ones, as well!). No damages on the outside – no damage or missing parts on the inside, too – Good start! Installation: Was easiest on my Android phone.

Download the app – connect – done. My two laptops were a bit more tricky, as the websites did not always work. My private laptop required 2 runs – installed – had to kick out the first installation – re-installed – then it worked.

The work laptop worked only the next day after using a website from another country. But now all 3 devices are connected wirelessly to the printer – and I can print 🙂 Print Speed: So far I mostly printed black and white documents.

nothing to write home about – but acceptable. The DOULE SIDED PRINTING is r e a l l y s l o w. but it works. Paper feed: For printing – the paper is pulled in from the top of the paper stack you insert.

my previous printer picked from the bottom of the stack. Yes, you cannot close the printer while paper is loaded for printing – no clue why they constructed it that way – but the “footprint” of the printer is nice and small considering that it has a paper feeder for scanning and copying on top – and that is probably the price you pay with the paper feed for printing jobs.

Print Quality: As mentioned – I have not printed much in colour – just one test print while installing the cartridges. That print (of a portrait-shot) was on normal paper – and not actually knocking me off my socks.

However I ran the alignment after that print – and since then the quality has improved also in black/white somewhat. Hence I am not sure I can recommend this printer if you are mainly looking to printing pictures you took with your camera.

I mean. consider the price of this printer – and apply common sense. The general impression is in accordance with that price I paid: It is not a rock solid machine. It is made using a lot of cheap plastic.

Then again – 1 set of ink cartridges were included – and 2 sets of ink cost almost as much as the printer. what do you expect? But it works for basic printing.

So far, so good! I have terrible luck with printers and they just don’t seem to last. This one replaced another Canon PIXMA that I was never able to get connected wirelessly and would constantly give me errors that it wasn’t connected or offline.

So, understandably I was a little hesitant to get another Canon. This one had decent reviews which were on par with or better than the others I was looking at, and since it was on sale for a fantastic price, I thought I’d give it a shot.

I’m so glad I did! Setup was a breeze, and this is the first printer that I’ve had that not only easily connected wirelessly, but has stayed connected. Even adding my smartphone to wirelessly print was a piece of cake.

This printer practically set itself up every step of the way. It does everything it said it would do and is easily meeting my needs. So far I’m extremely happy.

Purchased a week ago. Smooth, easy wireless set up. Quick B & W printing. Prints card stock, photo paper, both glossy & matte very well. Rear feed great for cards & photos. Scanning is easy with numerous functions.

Would give 5 stars if it had an ink system that was more economical. So far, I think this is an excellent printer and a good value. I had purchased a Brother printer in the store that was $100 more because it was in stock, and the Canon was not, but it would not print cards without jamming, so I returned it.

Staples credited my visa without any questions or hassle. Had to order the Canon online, but it came overnight, and it is a much better printer, for a lot less money. Will continue to purchase from Staples due to this excellent customer service experience.

This Canon printer works just fine for me. The set-up was pretty much straight forward. Put it on my network and connected two computers and two smart phones to it and we can print from any one of them, effortlessly.

This printer replaced an HP printer that would just look for reasons to not let you print anything. Every time I went to use the HP it was offline and it would take 40 minutes of trouble shooting get it to print.

I am SO done with HP. This Canon seems to be the answer to my problems. Only time will tell. 5 days in, I’m happy with the Canon.

So I received my HP – Deskjet 4133e Wireless All-In-One Printer a week ago and have been trying it out in my home office. HP usually impresses me especially with their laserjet printers and I knew going into this the quality probably wouldn’t be as good as the normal laserjets’ that I’m used to, but I was going to be open-minded about this deskjet.

So upon opening the box, you will find: * HP Deskjet 4133e Printer * Power Cable * Tri-Color Ink Cartridge * Black Ink Cartridge * Startup Guide & User Documentation Setting up the printer is fairly simple.

Just plug in the printer and follow along with the REQUIRED HP Smart App that’s available in the App Store for iOS and the Google Play Store for Android. Once you have installed the app, follow along inside the app to setup the printer.

This process is fairly easy and takes no time at all. Though I did have a couple of issues with it connecting to my home wifi. I had to shut the printer down and then restart it. Once it restarted it automatically connected and skipped the whole part for me to install the cartridges.

That was kind strange since, I’ve installed HP printers in the past and hadn’t had any issues. Once I got the ink cartridges installed it still wouldn’t recognize the ink and required me to shutdown and restart the printer yet again.

After the final reboot, the printer was ready to go. Started off with a few basic printing functions and it did well. My favorite part about this printer is the ability for it to AirPrint from my iPhone.

That’s amazing and its fairly quick also. The colors are a lot better than I actually expected from this printer. They did not appear to be faded or streaked. And the print time was not long either. Something that I do not like on HP printers is the requirement to have the HP Smart app.

I believe this is only just for HP to continue to push their HP Ink+ delivery ink subscription program. The number of times I got bombarded with them trying to get me to sign up was ludicrous. However, I do love the printer as is and it has worked out well for me over the last week.

This would be great for someone entering high school or for a small home office where light printing is conducted.

I bought the original HP DeskJet a few years ago, and have been a fan of the product in all its wonderful iterations and improvements. The 4133e does not disappoint! This DeskJet is perfect for low to medium usage, like, two reams of paper a month max.

This printer is very securely packaged! We saw the delivery person toss it over our fence! I was fearful that the printer was damaged, but was happy to find that the all-in-one was in perfect order! Taking it out of the box, there was a small cardboard container that held the power cord (don’t throw that away!) on top and then the printer.

Instructions are printed right there for quick setup. My recommendation to anyone with an HP printer is to make sure you have the HP Smart App on your computer first as this makes the whole connecting experience seamless.

You can connect via your home intranet, over the internet, direct wifi or cable (cable not included). My whole farm is on the same intranet, so I chose that method to just connect through the router.

This printer comes with a black cartridge and with a tricolor cartridge, which are easy to install. Printing is at a moderate speed and is one-sided. You can scan or copy from the glass or from the feeder, again, it’s one-sided.

Speaking of being at a large place, I already have an HP OfficeJet printer in my office, and can print on it from anywhere on the farm, but I needed something at the house for those times I want to print or scan something and don’t want or need to go to the office building.

This moderate priced printer is just perfect for the tasks I have in mind!.

Setup was a breeze. It’s all done through the app but the process is over in a matter of minutes. As soon as I plugged my unit in and clicked “add printer” in the app the printer appeared and was ready to go.

You’ll be waiting for the print tests and the alignment process to compete. The form factor has changed slightly from older budget printers but this is still relatively a small footprint. Printing is quick, at least for documents.

The color is something of an eggshell white which is nice and modern. The process of scanning using the top lid, document feeder or apparel extremely convenient for anyone working from home. The ink cartridge type this unit uses are very small, I’m not entirely sure how many sheets these will print or how many more will an XL model add.

This is an overall nice printer all around but there’s a few areas I need to mention. The top lid to scan pages has no locking mechanism. You just lift it till gravity takes ever and it stays there. A simple bump from the rear is close to enough force to send the lid closing on you.

This might be of concern for users placing this on an island or a desk with foot traffic around it. The rear paper tray is finicky and loading paper doesn’t slide in all on its own. Most of the time you have to press it down into the printer for the feeder rolls to be able to grab it.

The specifications connectivity section states USB 2. 0. This is a Type B USB along the back of the printer. Not really to print off your flash drive. (This USB also isn’t included) (This last one is an entirely opinionated preference) The longer I use HP+, the less I like it.

Going in with it the first time almost 2 years ago I didn’t see as many walled off features. Setting this up once more presented so many disclaimers. Opting out seemingly gives you a “dumb” printer.

Good Printer, overall I like it, some things to consider. Pros *Awesome Borderless Prints on 8. 5 x 11 😀 *Fantastic print quality *Duplex (Double Sided Printing) *Wireless Printing and features worked great once setup *Accurate color representation on photos with some profile tweaking to make it “pop” *Good scanner, hi res, worked great for a basic flatbed.

*Relatively fast printing for inkjets in this price-range, with good quality, and also pretty quiet, sure beats the old MX-80 😀 *Small screen but better quality than the “postage stamp” they have on other models (really dislike the postage stamp screen) Epson this should be the standard screen on those.

Cons -212 Starter Carts were just about worthless, enough to prime, clean and print a document set or so. Eh why? -212 Standard carts seem to go quickly, OK for low volume, but not compelling enough / page.

Wouldn’t Recommend, Ughhgg, I need more carts already??? -212XL were the best value, but still no where near page counts estimated, did OK in here, better than 212 standard carts! I was underwhelmed by what I got for what I paid, but it was “better”.

(Bottom line, cartridges are expensive (overpriced), but Epson isn’t the worst, so there you go) -3rd party, those firmware updates are basically locking you out of 3rd party carts, so forget it here, they probably won’t work or won’t for long, don’t update the firmware, its a printer you don’t need to (didn’t they get sued for this? I remember an Epson cart debacle a while ago.

(Same printer head and scanner and basic imaging tech, so yea uh that’s better). Its not bad but consumables make it “not that great” either. It was in stock so there you go.

If you want a printer that is sleek and doesn’t take up much room nor is heavy then this is for you. Other then these positives there isn’t much else I can say. Purchasing to replace an old printer, I don’t print all that much maybe a few documents a week if that.

So figured this would be perfect… boy was I wrong. After printing 5 sheets of black text (not even a full page) the black in was empty and wouldn’t allow me to continue printing to use the remaining coloured ink.

So off I went to get the black ink cartridge…. Get home install it and to a no sale Alignment to then find the lines are all broken, and I need to do a clean and another alignment getting contact with customer service and they tell me that I need to do that three times above the time I’ve done it three times it’s now telling me all 4 ink cartridges are empty….

but I’ve just replaced the black the black ink so it’s brand new, but because all New inks need to be aligned and they need to print out a summary thing I now have no ink again!!! With the ink cartridges themselves costing more then the printer it’s not economical not affordable.

I would not recommend this product nor any of the other apps and products of a similar product unless you have an endless pit of money to spend on ink cartridges. Because most likely you will use all of your ink before you print anything of importance just by setting up the cartridges in the first place taking money elsewhere EPSON you really need to review this and correct your cheap and unaffordable and uneconomical printers!!!!!.

I almost purchased the equivalent Workforce model for the same price, but chose the XP4100 as it was slightly smaller and took up less space in the corner of our living room. My daughter remarked that the graphics printing was much better than the old printer.

I had used the Workforce 4630 for the past 5 years, and had been spoiled. The XP4100 does not have a paper tray. Paper must be slotted in the rear feed, and thus the paper will bend over time. Even the old XP 630 had a paper tray.

The set up of the XP4100 is tricky, especially loading the ink. Almost all the ink in the initial printer purchase is used up priming the print heads. With one of the ink cartridges, I had forgot to remove a small yellow tag.

The colour didn’t print, and it took quite a few attempts to figure out why the printer wouldn’t print that colour. Then I replaced the black cartridge (as it had run out, still during set up), and the black did not print.

Small matter as I forgot to shake the cartridge. It would be good if Epson reminded the user on the set up screen as these points are hugely important. Also the maintenance box is now almost full, even though I have had the printer only a few days!!! Finally, the Wifi set up could be improved.

I went to print this morning, and the Wifi settings had disappeared. Do the settings disappear when I switch off the printer? Not sure. But for sure I had to reinstall the Wifi in a hurry to so my daughter could print her assignment.

I would gladly spend the money to get a WF model and refund for the inks I had purchased if Epson offered it.

I’ve used a ton of printers over the past few years, both in my job and personal life. My wife is a teacher, so inkjet printers tend to get worn out quickly in our house and it seems like there is always something new on our shelf.

When I received the Canon PIXMA TS6420a for review, I was hoping it would compare favorably with similarly priced printers I’ve used in the past. What I found was a bit of a mixed bag. First, the good: after a pretty ordinary out of the box experience, I was impressed to see Canon includes a sample pack of their high quality glossy photo paper (4×6 size) and also that the quick start guide is really just a QR code for you to scan with your phone.

This isn’t new, of course – what was new is that the QR code took me directly to a page with a link to the Android app which made setting up and using the printer SUPER easy. Huge kudos to Canon for that.

I was also extremely impressed with the quality of the photos I got with the included glossy paper. Regular color prints for a presentation and office document were just ‘good’ – not mindblowing but good enough that I’d be fine printing something to hand out at the office.

Also, the manual feed slot that flips up from the back of the printer is a pretty good design and makes it really easy to print envelopes or photos without opening the main tray. There really isn’t anything “bad” about the TS6420a, but there’s just too much compromise for me.

The color ink is a single CMY cartridge for all 3 colors, which means you’re going to waste a lot of ink unless you always print the same amount of each color somehow. When Red runs out, it doesn’t matter if you have yellow and blue left – too bad.

For me the real dealbreaker is the size of the paper tray, though. The main tray only holds about 100 sheets and it just feels super tiny. Yes, the rear flip up tray can hold plain paper, taking you to 200 sheets, but it’s all just too small.

If you’re looking for a printer primarily for photos that does a few other things, the TS6420a does reasonably good quality photos for a reasonably low asking price. I think the costs of buying the tri-color ink will add up over time, and the low paper capacity makes this frustrating to use for home office tasks.

The Canon Pixma is a wireless printer, copier, and scanner. This one has a heavy emphasis on wireless. Not only does it not come with a USB cable, the USB-A port is practically hidden. And honestly, it’s been a very long time since I’ve needed to use a cable with a printer so seeing this almost disappear means wireless has become a first class feature.

Continuing that trend, you get a pretty basic black and white OLED screen for basic status and menu control plus some physical buttons on the screen. I go back and forth with phystical versus touch sensitive buttons.

Done well, touch sensitive screens are great. Physical buttons however work well and save cost. And in some ways, they simplify the interface as there are buttons that directly control an action rather than needing to go a layer into the on-screen menu.

As usual, every printer manufacturer has their own app though I tend to use those almost only for scanning. Printing just goes through the normal driver once the printer is joined to my wireless network.

Setup for wifi was a bit of a pain point. This is probably something Canon can fix with a firmware update but the printer had issues making the initial connection or perhaps recognizing that it had made one.

I found the best thing is to connect to your 2. 4Ghz SSID (I have a split 2. 4Ghz and 5Ghz router) using the on-screen menu for setup. When loading paper, make sure to use the aligners especially on the back feed tray.

While it can be nice to use that and quicker to load, it seems more finnicky in terms of needing the extenders fully out to feed paper correctly. That said, once setup, the printer works pretty flawlessly.

The printer looks good and the black color fits in nicely with where this is positioned, on a table along a wall between the kitchen and living room. Gives a nice transition from the microwave (also black) to printer while not looking out of place.

While I tend to get white printers, this is a good look given it doesn’t reside in my office. This is a color printer and so it comes with both color (one for all the colors) and black ink cartridges.

Print speed isn’t supoer fast at 12 ppm for black and white and about 7 ppm but this is decent for my intended use – a printer for other home users so my office printer isn’t contantly being raided or has important print jobs that require interrupting a zoom meeting to retreive the output.

In this regard, some features, almost expected with the Canon name, are a nice touch. For example, where this printer squeezes a second paper tray, instead of being a single sheet tray (which my office printer primarily uses for duplex printing or odd paper sizes), this one can handle a full 100 sheets in the rear paper tray and can also take photo paper.

Print resolution is pretty decent to regular paper and pretty nice with photos. I suspect this printer’s color cartidge will get more exercise than we normally see at home. Black and white printouts look good, the paper comes out nice and dry – I think I only really noticed that initial damp like texture when printing a full page color image to normal printer paper.

While I honestly don’t use it that much, a feature that would be nice is the ability to scan to a sd card or usb drive. It annoys me a bit that I’m forced to use a specific app to scan but I can print from almost anything.

Aside from initial setup, the only other pain point with this may be ink. I can’t tell how much is left, but based on the paper “weight” after color prints, this seems to use more ink than my office printer which suggests refills may be more frequent.

The Canon PIXMA TS6420a All in One is a good, basic, easy to use home printer. With it you can print, copy & scan documents. It is compact so it has a small footprint on your desk. This model doesn’t include an automatic document feeder, so that adds to the sleek look.

However, it DOES have auto-duplex so you are able to print on both the front & the back. Also small is the paper tray – it is quite small holding approximately 100 sheets of paper. The tray sticks out about 2″ from the printer.

You can push it further in, but then you can’t print from it. On the plus side, in addition to the front tray, you can feed various sizes/types of paper from the back – such as your photo paper. I find the printer to be solid, but I find the parts to be somewhat flimsy.

The paper tray, paper exit tray and rear paper feeder all feel as though I might not want my 12 year old to handle them. They seem like they might easily break – but so far, so good! Setting up the printer was very easy – I used the suggested website and the set-up was a breeze.

My network easily found the printer and WiFi connected on my one and only try. That is a nice change from some other recent electronic devices that needed multiple attempts. The set-up process forces you to look at the VERY small 1.

44″ OLED display, which at that size, is not a touch screen. Personally, I needed to be right up on it to see what it was telling me. Once I got through the ink installation which was easy & intuitive, the printer needed to do its alignment.

Using 2 sheets of paper, it was a slow process, but everything came out great. Once all of that was done, I was easily able to print from my PC and my iPhone. That made me happy! Copying was easy as well.

Unfortunately, I have not had the occasion to scan as yet. This printer is definitely on the slow side, however after printing/copying a variety of documents and photos, I find the print quality of the Canon TS6420a to be surprisingly good! After printing stops, I do find that there are a lot of sounds coming from under the cover – on its own.

I don’t know what is moving around in there, but it stops after a bit. Somehow I equate slow with less than, and this printer isn’t that. It is making a great little home/office printer for us. We don’t need super fast, we need quality.

In that area, this Canon printer doesn’t disappoint.

This printer works great for about 15 pages before the print jobs begin streaking. The streaking will continue to worsen for another 20-30 pages of printing or so. We then run through diagnostic prints, the alignment prints, and the smearing/cartridge cleaning prints.

The diagnostic prints always say that we are using genuine HP ink and that the levels are good, so there shouldn’t be a problem. Yet, the problem persists. None of the diagnostic or print quality tools solves the problem.

So then we get a new set of cartridges and hope for the best. At this point, we are on our third set of cartridges which comes out to an average of 75 pages per set (the HP website advertises between ~165 and 200 pages per cartridge).

That isn’t even 75 pages of actual printing, about a quarter of those pages are attempts to clean the cartridges or the print heads. The other two quarters are streaked. What that means is that each page costs about $0.

60 per page. If you exclude the number of diagnostic pages, you’re spending $1. 27 in ink per page. And if you exclude the streaked pages altogether (which we often have to when you’re printing for official purposes where legibility is important) then you’re spending $2.

93 per page on ink and the rest goes to recycling. This is painfully wasteful. It isn’t common that we have something important to print, but when we do we would really like a printer that can do the job.

I also don’t want to have to sign up for a regular ink shipment after a handful of print jobs. If I knew how much of a pain this printer would become I would never have considered HP.

Setup of this printer using a smartphone is a good experience, and the quality is great. Wirelessly printing from a Mac over AirPrint, or from a smartphone is very easy and delightful. Double sided printing works wonderfully.

However, wirelessly printing from a Windows desktop is basically impossible. The driver for Windows is broken, so even though the computer can see the printer on the same Wi-Fi network, it believes it is offline.

Alternatively you can try printing with Wi-Fi Direct, but I was never able to make this work, probably because of the same driver issue. The HP ENVY Photo 7855 is not supported by the HP+ cloud printing service.

It seems that the only way to use Windows with this printer is via a wired LAN or a USB cable, which is very disappointing. The broken driver is a huge letdown. Scanning to Google Drive from the ENVY Photo 7855 works well if you know where to find it.

On the printer’s screen, you won’t find it under Scan. Instead, you navigate to Apps -> Drive -> Choose a Google Account -> Enter your PIN -> Scan & Upload. (This is unintuitive and not a great user experience.

) HP’s support documentation leaves something to be desired, and the virtual agent is awful. Their ultimate recommendation is to install an additional “HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows” which is no help whatsoever.

I don’t expect this model will receive much support in the future, as newer models that support HP+ cloud printing will be preferred.

Absolute worst printer I’ve ever owned in my life. If I print black and white, I have maybe a 50% chance of it actually printing the document. If I try color, 0%. It doesn’t even throw up an error, it just prints maybe half a page and quits.

No error message or anything. I used to spend hours troubleshooting it just to get the most basic job printed, but now I’ve given up. There’s always some new problem. It’s an absolute crapshoot whether anything prints at all – most of the time it says it’s printed successfully while the printer does absolutely nothing.

I would try to return it, but frankly, after all the frustration and stress it’s caused me over the six months I’ve owned it, I’d rather accept the wasted money and at least have the momentary pleasure of violently taking a sledgehammer to this insanely irritating product.

I purchased this printer to replace another Canon printer I had for several years that served me well. One major feature I required was the ability to print on CD/DVDs. The old printer did that and had an 8×11″ cassette and a photo cassette.

This printer cost twice what the old printer cost but not only has the 8×11″ cassette but feeds other sizes from the back. I now have the ability to still print photos but also legal size as well as tabloid size(11×17″).

My wife does a little crafting and it also prints 12×12″ size papers. I have read some reviews where people have stated they wish they did not have to raise the panel to print. You have to raise it to get to the slot to print on DVDs so that wasn’t an issue for me.

This printer also connects to wifi a lot quicker than the old. Overall, I am quite satisfied with this printer.

After 11 years, I needed to replace a Canon MX. This TS95 had all the features I wanted including the ability to scan or print multiple pages, a rear paper tray for various size paper and individual ink cartridges.

It was extremely easy to set up the wifi. I also like the ability to print from multiple devices. It has a low profile with a touch screen on the front panel and it has large large print so it is easy to change settings.

The choice of two-sided printing appears on the main print settings screen, not buried down several layers. It is Alexa-enabled but I haven’t tried using that feature. And I still need to research the many other features offered.

I would recommend it to others.

I received my Epson EcoTank ET-2850 Wireless Color All-In-One printer and was quite pleased to start it going as I was in need of a good printer that didn’t use expensive laser cartridges. The box arrived with the printer packed nicely inside.

You’ll find the printer, 4 ink bottles and a power cord. If you are looking to use this connected to directly to your computer via USB you’ll have to purchase a cable as one is not provided. I already had a few so that was not an issue for me.

It’s nice that this printer offers both ways to connect instead of just all wireless. I have a Mac Mini computer (the 2020 model) and an iPhone Pro Max phone so after unpacking everything I downloaded the Epson Smart Panel and my phone found the printer right away after going through some setup steps.

The quick start manual that accompanies the printer is easy to follow. When I plugged the USB cord into the back of my computer and the printer, restarted it all, the printer was found right off. just like it did with the wireless connection.

However you should NOT connect the printer to your computer until the unit is completely setup per the instructions. Online you will find a 259 page very detailed manual as well. I was wondering how the ink tank chamber filling was going to be since the ink is liquid in a bottle but everything is color coded and you do one at a time.

You can see the chambers on front of the printer and once they each are full the ink stops flowing automatically. You will notice a little ink left in each of the bottles and once the printer goes through an initialization process you will be able to pour the remaining ink in to completely fill.

It took about 10 minutes to initialize the ink and you’ll see a bar across the 1. 44″ LCD screen (not touch by the way) that shows when it’s all complete. I find that LCD screen to be VERY difficult on the eyes, however being able to at least angle the front panel makes it somewhat easier to see.

After all that I went to Epson’s website and downloaded the software updates and a firmware update. You can select Apple Airprint or the Epson and the site takes you directly to an Express Registration that already had loaded my printer serial number on the form.

Really simple. It has a Quiet Mode, which actually is really nice, but it takes slightly longer to print pages. The printer does about 10. 5 pages of black and 5 color ISP pages per minute. It also features auto 2-sided printing and holds 100 sheets in a top feed design which I am not fond of.

You load paper in the top rear and it leaves it exposed so paper can often start to get a limp look, especially if you are in a humid environment. A separate storage area for the paper, usually under the printer.

would be ideal in my opinion, but that certainly wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me. I was able to print right from my phone using the Epson Smart Panel app and it worked like a charm. just pick your network and you’re good to go.

After testing all the functions from copying to scanning I found this printer to be so very easy to use with decent print speed, great colors if you pick the higher resolution and picture prints were excellent.

You have options to SAVE – ATTACH TO EMAIL – SEND TO GOOGLE DRIVE – SEND TO DROPBOX – SEND TO EVERNOTE or PRINT. Aside from the little LCD screen and the top feed design mentioned above, I definitely would recommend this printer if you are in the market for a wireless or USB connected printer.

I really am quite pleased all around!.

My old printer finally went, so I started looking for a new printer. I didn’t know it was going to be such a chore. Printers have changed, you have to do some research on what printer you need, home, business, photography, high volume, low volume and so on.

In my case, I just need a color printer for home use for my wife and I. She just prints emails and some articles. I print drawings, graphics and photos. After looking into some printers I definitely wanted to go with the large ink tank printer, like the rest of you I’m tired of messing around with ink cartridges.

So the bottom line is I settled on the Epson EcoTank ET-2850 printer. So far it’s been excellent, setup was easy but a longer process. Epson has an app you can install and it takes you through the setup step by step.

I think the only thing I had to type in was the password for the network. Loading the ink was a breeze; just snap it on and it loads itself. The print quality has been very good. I have used both plain and card stock paper, everything printed well.

Photos print real good, not as good as a dedicated photo printer, but know one would be able to tell the difference. I highly recommend this printer; you won’t be disappointed.

Came across the HP Envy 6020e after deciding that it was time for a new printer. As someone who was using an outdated printer previously, I was highly impressed by the 6020e’s modern features, such as the little sounds that play upon turning the printer on/off, the lights which display different colours corresponding to the printer’s status and the control panel which is activated with the touch of the finger.

However, the function I enjoy the most is the wireless printing which is a total game-changer if you’ve been using a printer that relies solely on USB cables for an extensive amount of time. Setup process was relatively simple.

The HP Smart App guided me step-by-step. I experienced a minor issue trying to sign into my HP account, but that was quickly and easily solved by myself. Some parts of the printer light up to help the user locate them easier, which I thought was convenient.

The design itself is minimalistic and compact. This was the main reason as to why the 6020e caught my eye. The printing quality is great. Starter inks are included so that you can test everything out first.

The printing speed is decent. I use this printer every now and then, so speed wasn’t a priority for me when I was deciding on a printer. Overall, I enjoy using the 6020e and am satisfied with all of its features.

Would definitely recommend this product to anyone who is after a simple printer for casual use.

note: many details have been left out for brevity and because it was all so painful i’ve forced myself to forget. This machine is the most mysterious, confusing and frustrating piece of tech i’ve ever had to deal with!!!! How could they screw it up so badly?The setup instructions were confusing , the whole machine has no noticeable buttons,and the sign in insanely stupid.

Why must i input two stages of cipher generated numbers -which are printed by the very machine you’re trying to setup- just to print something? Why must i sign in online at all?? It has no clearly marked buttons.

Everything must be done through the ‘HP smart’ app. Added to all this we needed to connect via USB cable,which made the whole experience so much worse. After fighting the HP smart app for many hours we gave up and tried printing via a windows program.

That worked but no matter what we tried the scanner refused to work. In the end i walked away. It was so torturous i couldnt bare to go near the machine again. Tonight (now many months and many attempts later) i tried again to get it to scan.

I tried HP support for help. It got off to a bad start when i input their requested info (including which country we’re in) only to be told later i was on the wrong support site. Started again and found out THEY DONT EVEN HAVE PROPER SUPPORT in australia! You have to leave a message on their community pages and hope.

Then weirdly i tried the same thing i’d tried many times before and it worked! But i don’t know why? But will it keep working. ?? It doesnt matter either way. I’ll never buy another HP printer. Losing one’s sanity isnt worth it.

Off the bat, setup was maybe a total of 35 minutes from the time I started unboxing it. After that great start, I also found The Epson ET-2800 printer easy to use. The quality of the printing has been perfect for my business and personal use.

I work from home (graphic design) so this comes in especially handy for me because sub-par quality is not an option for my customers and they were not disappointed. I’ll cover that more a little later on the review.

Another amazing feature, and in some ways the best one of all is the ET-2800 comes with more than enough ink so re-ordering toner as frequently as I normally do is one less thing I will have to worry about.

Loading the ink tanks was easy and without any hassle. You can load paper into the ET-2800 via the front tray, rear paper feed or automatic feeder. The wireless capability made it so I could use it from any device in the house which is super convenient for schoolwork, my business, or just for fun.

There are even voice-activated commands that both me and my daughter got a kick out of, not to mention it makes it extra convenient when I need an extra set of hands that aren’t available. The ET-2800 features a small colored screen that makes faxing, scanning, and settings adjustments a breeze.

The print quality is top of the line. Accurate colors, no smudges, and clear as can be. You’d think that a machine with all of these capabilities would take up a ton of space, but it doesn’t. It fits right next to my desktop in my home office and takes up even less space than my other inkjet printer that held far less ink and wasn’t as productive as this machine.

I highly recommend this for home use, especially if you work from home. This is a review for the Epson EcoTank ET-2800 Wireless Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

I wanted a printer that allows me to print checks and envelopes, as well as photos and note cards. I have been reviewing printers for over a month and really had my heart set on same brand, but the higher up version because this one doesn’t do auto two-sided printing.

But, did I want to pay more for that feature? Thankfully, I have access to a b&w laser printer that does auto two-sided printing and I don’t print a lot of documents anyways. This printer saved me money, was in stock, and was discounted on sale.

The other advantage over other brands is the ink tanks. I got the printer home, unpacked it and plugged it in, added the ink which was super, super easy plus there is still a tad bit of ink in the bottles and the lids lock tight for storing.

Setting up the printer via the app on the phone was spot-on, too. It is guided and it is done through what looks like a chat window, helping you through the steps with diagrams. I honestly didn’t have to access the screen on the printer, except to confirm paper size.

I would have preferred tray loading of stock paper, envelopes, etc. but instead, all paper is fed through the back. After working with the printer on. a few prints, I realized that this is better than paper trays for my purpose.

I printed a few envelopes and they printed beautifully. The only exception is if you have only one envelope in the feeder, then it can smudge a little on the leading edge. Solution is to always have more than one envelope, even if you print just one.

Loading was intuitive, too. With other printers, I have problems trying to determine orientation of envelopes and checks. With this printer, it was so intuitive that I got it right the first time and confident.

I won’t have issues in the future! After I printed envelopes, I decided to print a check. I only loaded one check and got it right. The quality came out really well and no smudges. Totally professional.

I did print some documents and they looked stunning, too. The speed is “ok” and for my needs, it works out just fine. Setting the printer up on the Mac was so easy. It found the printer and with a minute, was able to print a test document wirelessly.

I can check on ink levels, etc. Even though the printer is advertised in various ways that this doesn’t have auto two-sided printing, I am giving it four stars. I feel that if Epson really cares about the environment, that they would not make a printer that wasn’t auto two-sided printer.

Not saying they don’t care… but it isn’t representative in the product you are making. Save on ink and plastics, yes… but paper and trees. it’s on me to manually flip to save the trees and bees! I also gave it four stars because there are too many variations of the same printer and it adds complexity to deciding which model works for me.

Each has their pros and cons and if they narrowed their product line down to less models, maybe they would have more in stock? I do really like the screen on the printer. The whole screen and buttons are on a panel that flips up so you can look at it from above rather than squatting in front of the printer.

Love it! The printer does sometimes doesn’t print until I interact with the printer if the paper size changes. Not a big deal… I click OK and confirm yes/no via the up or down arrows and it starts printing correctly.

I went with Epson because of the ink technology and seems that they have a solid line of printers. The printers that has the ink tank technology does cost more, but it looks like refilling will be cheaper than the cartridges.

I would recommend this for the home or home office. Using the printer on a daily basis would not be an issue with this one. If you print two sided a lot, you may want to look for a higher-up model or do what I have… a secondary b&w laser printer.

Epson is a good brand. They are putting a lot of focus on ensuring that they have a quality app, instructions, setup, and features on various price levels.
