20 Best Airless Paint Sprayer For Contractor (2022 Updated)

The first time I painted. I used the regular hose that comes with the titan 440. It is a lot harder to make rapid moves when you are in tight places. This hose is a little bit flexible than the regular hose.

Not too flexible but just right. I grab with my right side the gun and on my left hand the whip hose to control where the hose goes to, so it would not touch the surface I just painted. I used the titan 440 with the Graco green tip fflp 310 on Sherwin Williams emerald urethane satin.

You can’t spray to slow if not you get runs. Paint finish is like automotive. Would extremely recommend.

I’m so glad I finally ordered this for my husband. He absolutely LOVES it!! We refinish farmhouse furniture & due to our HOA regulations, he does his painting inside our cargo trailer. He says the whip makes things so much easier for him.

No more battling the constant tension of the hose and he could instantly tell the wrist fatigue was greatly improved. I wish I had ordered this sooner but I’m so glad he has it now. It arrived sooner than promised. I was quite surprised though. It doesn’t feel any more flexible than my stock Graco hose. That was unexpected. I’m quite familiar with the more flexible hoses in compressor air hoses so expected something more supple.

The extra 5′ length is a big help though as I didn’t want or need another 25′, so I’m happy about that.

I chose this Wagner Home Decor Sprayer to receive and honestly give my opinion about it as a Walmart Spark reviewer. I’m so glad I chose this product. it was just what I needed! Firstly, it is so easy to put together- basically attach the hoses, fill the paint container, add some water (if you are using a water based paint/stain as I was), plug it in and go.

The Owner’s Manual is very detailed with all the instructions on how to fill the container using the notch guide to add water/mineral spirits to thin the mixture by 10% – which makes the spray material the perfect consistency to flow smoothly thru the unit while giving you awesome coverage on your project.

I love that the manufacturer also provided a big poster to use for practice using the sprayer. to get a feel for how to adjust the spray pattern (by turning the ‘air cap ears’ you can adjust to wide, tall, or narrow areas) I actually used just plain water first to test it out on the side of my house (my son said- “hey, it’s like a mini power washer!” :)- I wanted to check it out and get a feel for the sprayer just to practice without wasting any paint.

The motor is powerful and thankfully very quiet. This sprayer worked awesome for the project I had given up on previously when I got frustrated trying to use a paint brush to refurbish an old, large cooler stand my husband had found on one of his neighborhood “treasure hunts” (as we call his garbage picking 🙂 The wooden slates on this portable cooler stand are fairly close together (closer than stockade fence pickets).

Trying to use a paint brush to get in between the slats was impossible. The old raw, weathered wood was too unsightly to leave unprotected after I had sanded it- the inside of the slats had to be sealed along with the rest of the top/sides/underneath parts.

I even, unsuccessfully, tried using paint on cotton swabs to paint in between those slats! This Wagner sprayer was exactly what I needed. I used the narrow setting to get in between the slats and then easily switched to the wide pattern to give the whole wood top a nice, even once over.

Applying & drying time were also pleasantly reduced compared to the hassle of the first hand painted coat. Clean up was a breeze (unlike trying to clean paint soaked brushes). The sprayer looked like brand new when I was done- everything cleaned like Teflon 🙂 As a bonus, the manufacturer also enclosed a card for a free paint storage cup and lid if you complete a short survey- so worth it not to have to keep/store a small amount of leftover paint for touch ups in a gallon container.

First off, why use a spray gun at all? Well, vs. a paint brush or roller – it’s a lot faster and a far more even coat. Better yet, it’s quite a bit faster on awkward items like wire mesh, round chair legs and a host of other difficult to paint items.

OK, why not a can of spray paint? Although there are similarities, the spray gun allows for a more precise spray pattern and volume than the can – which tends to be a single, circular pattern and non-adjustable volume distribution.

Additionally, you can’t always find the “perfect color” in a can, but you can always have some mixed for you. Are there any limitations to a spray gun? Yes, specifically this spray gun. The fact that it uses a container for the paint suggests a limited amount of “raw material”.

In other words, with this small amount of paint, you’re definitely not going to paint the house – or for that matter anything requiring a lot of paint. Commercial spray guns use a tube that can be inserted into a 5 gallon bucket of paint which stays on the ground or floor as you walk around with the sprayer assembly.

With this product, you carry the gun and paint all in one package. That said, there are a limited number of jobs for which this sprayer is useful – but FOR those jobs it is an excellent tool! Assembly couldn’t be easier – slide one end of the hose into the compressor, the other into the gun and plug it into an outlet or extension cord – done! Perhaps the most common paint used around the house is a water-based latex.

This will require thinning in order to permit a decent flow through the nozzle. The thinning gauge is really helpful in determining the amount of thinning required and eliminates the need for secondary measuring container.

It’s also calibrated such that you can easily determine the amount of thinner (water, in the case of latex) regardless of the amount of paint you intend to use. Typically, the second most used is a stain of one kind or another – thinning is not required.

The adjustable spray volume ensures decent coverage without over or under paint usage and the spray pattern adjustment helps limit the paint to the desired areas without coating everything in sight. (It can adjust for a vertical, horizontal, or conical spray pattern.

) Speed of application can be regulated with the pressure knob – but I’d highly recommend you do a few test sprays first. I’d recommend a cardboard box – try both the outside and inside – just to get a feel for how (and how much) paint will be applied.

Like canned spray paint, I’d also recommend more than one coat to ensure accurate color throughout. Cleanup is relatively easy, but I’d recommend you do it as soon as you’ve finished painting. Getting dried paint out of the nozzle (or thickened paint from the feed tube) is considerably harder when it’s allowed to sit overnight.

So clean up right away – THEN pat yourself on the back for doing an outstanding job. Bottom line, it’s an excellent tool for smaller jobs (limited mostly by the amount of paint it can hold) and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone with those kinds of projects.

This is my first sprayer and it was purchased to complete a home cabinet project. I was dissatisfied with the results of roller and brush finishes. After three careful attempts, I decided to try a sprayer.

I am very experienced with using brushes and rollers and own quality products and used a high quality new, latex paint. I was upset with my first attempt using the Home Decor paint sprayer and considered returning it.

However, after reviewing a few youtube videos and practicing with this sprayer, my results now are top notch professional quality. The following only works if you have taken the necessary steps (cleaned, sanded and removed all dust) to prepare a suitable surface.

You MUST understand the following to be happy with this product: 1. know the consistencies of the products (paint, stain) you are using, that work best for application: with a little practice you will know how the paint looks and feels rather then just going off a predetermined measurement.

2. Stir the product well; make sure it is fully blended (latex / water or oil base / mineral spirits). 3. Use a paint strainer for older paints. I now use a strainer for all products. -costs a buck for four strainers.

4. Know how the sprayer works: practice application, setting adjustments and technique and wait for your work to dry in order to see the finished product. Then, make any necessary adjustments. Repeat this until you’re satisfied with your work.

5. Sand smooth between coats. I use 220 grit. 6. Clean your sprayer immediately after you are finished with your work or as soon as you see signs of clogging. The cup that comes with the Home Decor Sprayer covers a large surface area.

If you are using multiple cups for your project, you probably need a bigger sprayer. I disassemble and clean mine after each cup application. It’s fast, easy and saves you time and aggravation in the long run.

Bottom line: If you put in the time (practice) you will be 100% satisfied with this product. Brushes and rollers still have their uses but, I only wished I tried a sprayer sooner. I’ve used this sprayer several times now and have become confident with it’s use and very satisfied with the overall quality.

I would not consider using it to spray my entire home but, it is perfect for: cabinets, doors, windows and furniture and perhaps a room or two.

I like the consistency with this sprayer, once you’ve got the flow rate and spray pattern dialed in it is easy to keep spraying with good results. This isn’t the first sprayer I’ve owned, my previous sprayer (Graco Ultramax) ended up on ebay because I spent half the time troubleshooting it.

When I pick up the Fuji I can basically trust it to spray the same as the last time, which was something I could never do with the Graco. The downside is the noise, it is definitely not quiet. I put the turbine outside the window, which you are meant to do anyway so it sucks in clean air rather than paint mist.

The key to success IMO is to spend the time getting the paint viscosity correct. Can be a bit of a faff but it’s worth it. I aim for between 38-40 seconds run through with the viscosity cup for water-based paint.

Used Leyland Acrylic Primer, Farrow & Ball Eggshell and Dulux Diamond Eggshell all with great results using the 1. 8mm cap. I learnt the hard way not to leave the gun and cup standing on the workbench, the hose is quite heavy and tends to pull the cup over the moment you turn your back.

The hook on the top of the gun is there for a reason! Put a screw in the side of your workbench and hang it on that. I do spend the time.

I haven’t yet owned this for very long but have already managed to achieve a level of finish on a set of kitchen doors that has surpassed all expectations. I started out hand painting a set of kitchen doors that I have made but it was so slow and the finish, whilst not bad, wasn’t what I wanted to acheive.

I sold an old Earlex 5500 SprayStation and bought the Fuji. I also bought the 1. 8mm set up for spraying water based top coat (just Valspar from B&Q) and primer (cheap primer from Screwfix) which it does very well.

The primer is the heavier of the two and just needs a little more thinning to make it more spray-able. The supplied viscosity cup (ford #4) and the timings given in the manual make it very easy to get the paint to the correct consistency.

I am currently finishing one batch of doors with water based varnish using the included 1. 3mm set up. It is so quick and the finish is fantastic. I am only an amateur but it is making me look good, which is always a bonus.

I have no hesitation in recommending this setup to anyone who either needs to or wants to get into spraying.

I am an artist (acrylic painting) and varnishing was always stressfull and often has created damages to my painting. I paint large canvas and acrylic mat varnish dry up so fast that I never found an easy way to do a layer fast enough and, the overlaying brush strokes always become a problem.

So i decided to invest in a spray system and what a fantastic decision!! It was a big investment but worth it considering the job is done fast and always flawless. It gives an amazing finish to my painting and the work went from stressfull to playfull! Thanks to Fujispray (my only reserve: turbine way louder than I expected and the remote control is a must).

The can is a solid, heavy, well built monster. It is ferrous, will attract a magnet. I’ve owned this over a year and it hasn’t corroded. It’s been outside in the rain, frozen, thawed, etc and no corrosion anywhere.

It looks like it did the day I bought it. I have to assume some sort of stainless variant with high steel content? Unsure. It is not aluminum tho.

I use this as a vacuum and pressure chamber. It is also used to extract oils. It holds vacuum for days, literally. I’ve left it under hard vacuum for over a week with no slow leaks. It holds pressure well, I’ve taken it up to it’s max operating pressure during testing.

No leaks.

Everything you expect. No complaints. Includes a gauge that does the job. Keep in mind if you are using this for casting (not for painting) you’ll simply need to cap the paint outlet. Very easy.

I had a need to paint some trim for a remodel project that we were undertaking. Instead of painting with a brush I really wanted the finish that you can only get when spraying. Since I had never done this myself but in the past had professionals do some painting and I wanted to match the smooth finish that they were able to achieve with their expensive spaying equipment, I researched and found many positive reviews for the Flexio 3500.

Along with the size and capabilities it possessed it seemed to be the sprayer for my needs. I would consider myself to be a reasonably accomplished DIYer but had never used a paint sprayer I wasn’t sure what to expect.

I thoroughly read the manual so that I would get the best possible results. I started by prepping my garage by hanging plastic sheets to contain the overspray. I then setup the sprayer following the detailed instructions found in the manual.

Next, I tested spraying some cardboard, scrap trim and lumber to get a feel for sprayer and how it handled the latex trim paint. After making a few adjustments to the pressure and nozzle, I found the coverage and quality to be satisfactory and I was ready for the trim for my project.

Now that I was spaying 12-foot trim boards I had to adjust my pace and make sure I could smoothly move along the board surface without pausing to avoid applying too much paint in some areas and too little in others.

With some practice I was very productive and completed my 1st pass on all trim in very little time compared to a brush application. After three total coats, I was more than satisfied with the results and achieved the smooth surface I was looking for to match the rest of our home.

Cleanup was slow the first time since I was reading the manual and doing each step by step. Cleanup is not difficult and once I went through the process subsequent cleanings have become routine. Overall, I give the Flexio 3500 high marks and look forward to my next projects in the near future.

First off I will give the performance of the sprayer a 4 rating & not a 5 because although it says you do not have to thin the paint I find the if you don’t it will not spray an even coat and secondly although they cut the weight of this sprayer by shortening the electric cord I find that I am always dragging the plug across the newly painted service.

Otherwise it works very well. Now the reason that I gave it a 2. In their orperating manual they give recommendations on air flow setting for different surfaces that you are spraying and for someone who has no experience spraying they will rely on these recommendations.

This is where the problem lies. The dial that controls the air flow has numbers that you set to adjust the air flow and amount of paint that you want to spray, but when you set the dial to the number that is recommended it is not truly that number.

If you look at the picture the setting is actually at its highest but shows it at its lowest. I called customer service and explaned the issue and ask if there was anything I could do to correct this on my own like remove the knob and reset it.

I was told by the customer service representative (who was very nice) that there was nothing I could do because the knob was not removable and that they were aware of the issue and were working to correct it.

If they are aware of the issue why are the still sending them out for sale knowing there is a defect in their product. I went to the big box store that I bought mine from and their display still has this product with the defective knob.

At the end of the coversation with the service rep, she suggested I peel the label off of the top of the knob and reapply it in the correct location. This is not possible because if you look at the picture there is a notch in the lable that lines up with a tab on top of the knob.

Hopefully they will get this issue resolved and reach out to everyone who has the sprayer with a solution to this issue. If they get this resolved then I would highly recommend this sprayer.

The first time I used my Flexio 3500, I was an absolute beginner with a paint sprayer. I have quite a bit of varied DIY experience, but had never used a sprayer before. I had the interior of a wooden garage door (pine and plywood) that I wanted to coat, and while I was at it, I was testing to see what kind of coverage I could get on several other building materials.

I’d picked up a fresh quart of a combination paint/primer product, which turned out to be a bit thicker than the average acrylic latex I’d used for past pad-and-roller painting. I was concerned that although the manual says you don’t need to thin out most products, it might be too much for the spray gun.

Happily though, that did not turn out to be the case. I found that using a higher turbine airflow rate, along with a moderate paint delivery rate, was key to getting a good pattern. Otherwise things went quite well.

It’s a pretty simple sprayer to understand and adjust. Following the manual, I used the larger of the two spray heads included in the kit. After experimenting on a sample piece of cardboard to dial in the settings, and get a good spray pattern and adequate coverage, I was able to paint the two single-car garage doors on one side, in about 40 minutes.

I could have gone faster, save for my relative inexperience level. I used about a pint of the paint in the process. Since I had a quart on hand, I used up the other half to paint samples of a few different types of OSB, particle board, spruce lumber, and XPS insulating foam, just to see how that turned out.

Overall I was quite pleased with the results. The only one that didn’t go as expected was an MDF shelf board that didn’t accept the paint/primer well (it didn’t stick well at all). but that’s a paint issue, not a sprayer problem.

When the painting was done and it was time to clean up, I found the process a little more difficult than claimed, and much slower than the 5 minutes often mentioned. Most of that was on me, though, being unfamiliar with the disassembly process, and deliberately taking my time.

Next time, with more experience, and an array of plastic-safe nylon bristle brushes on hand, it’ll probably take 10 minutes or less to get the gun all cleaned up. Don’t forget to allow time to let everything dry before putting it away.

Final thoughts: In the future, small jobs might still get a brush or roller treatment. But when I need to do a 10×10 foot area or larger, I’ll definitely be using this sprayer again. I got good coverage, even using a thick product, and laying down the material is FAR faster than using a conventional brush, pad, or roller.

Nice little DIY machine. For the price it performs well. Easy cleanup. Great for rough surfaces where a brush will take forever. Battery lasts about 40 minutes just about one container of paint. Let battery cool down before recharging or the charger will blink red.

No where near the power of a air sprayer but a lot more convenient. Works for me when I need something painted fast. Practice thinning the paint if needed to get a nice spray pattern. Dont know about auto painting, maybe touch up but you’d have to know how to get the right mix.

I had fairly big project (staining my backyard fence – about 2000 square feet) that I’d been putting off for weeks, due to weather, COVID, and various other reasons. I had the Behr Semi-Transparent Stain & Waterproofing and in the past, had used a hand-pump deck sprayer to stain the fence, with marginal results.

This time, decided to research a power sprayers and landed on the Control Stainer350. What a great choice! Easy to follow instructions and the videos were helpful as well. Since I was using a semi-transparent stain (a bit thicker than the transparent variety), I wanted to be sure if I needed to a) strain and b) thin the stain for best results.

I called the 800 number and connected with Tim – very, very helpful. Tim suggested that I thin the stain at the rate of 4 oz per gallon, and strain it, to remove any clumps or other particles that might block the sprayer.

His last suggestion was to wipe the spray needle with a clean cloth, every two or three fence panels, to prevent stain buildup. All great suggestions – I just finished this project in about 3 hours (a WHOLE lot faster than my hand pump deck sprayer method) and the results were excellent.

The sprayer did not clog once and I found the adjustments (vertical and horizontal spray orientation and spray density) easy to adjust, even on the fly. Clean-up was easy too. While I’m not necessarily looking forward to the next project, totally happy that I have the right tool for the job next time a paint or stain job comes up!.

I have been staining my fence and deck for years with a brush. It takes at least a full day of work and I find myself putting it off because I hate doing it. I picked up a Wagner Control Stainer 350 really hoping that it could shorten the amount of time to do the work and also save my back from bending over with a brush the entire day.

Taking the Control Stainer out of the box, I read the instructions which were straight forward and was able to figure things out quickly with attaching the spray nozzle and container to the front of the unit.

I use a semi-transparent stain and I didn’t have to dilute it at all, I just dumped it straight into the cup. Wagner sent a large paper with the sprayer to test the spray pattern and get the amount of stain being sprayed dialed in.

I have never used anything like this so I was a little hesitant at first and that was quickly changed to surprise when I saw how easy it was to use. It took another minute to get the correct setting for the amount of stain I wanted to apply with the dial you can turn on top of the unit and then I was able to start moving along.

It applied a smooth even coat and I couldn’t believe how fast and easy it was. I was able to do each section of the fence in about 1 minute which would take me about 15 minutes with a brush. The nozzle on the front can be turned to spray a narrow or wide spray.

I used the narrow spray to get the top 2×4 on the fence and then turned it to the wide spray for the rest of the fence. I saved myself hours of work and had no problems with my back because it was so much easier and faster than a brush.

By the time I got to my deck, I felt like a pro using it and got the deck done in no time at all. The unit disassembles so that you can get everything inside of it clean. I am very picky with taking care of my tools and was worried that it would take a while to clean up after use, but they made it so easy to take it apart and soak everything that it was a breeze.

I highly recommend this to anyone that is tired of staining all of their outside wood with a brush. My only regret is that I didn’t use one sooner.

After much delay due to being on vacation and corona virus, I was finally able to finish my project and get to use the Wagner 350. The project was the building of two full size wooden Adirondack chairs.

These chairs would be the ideal subject to test the abilities of the sprayer. Upon opening the box there were two items that were helpful in setting up the Wagner 350. The first was a clear instruction manual.

The manual had very specific instructions how to set-up the sprayer. It also explained how to use and clean the machine. You don’t often find instructional manuals that are this helpful. The second item was the practice sheet.

This proved helpful when it came time to learn how to spray properly. The box even included a small cleaning brush which was helpful when it came time to clean the nozzle and a small envelope of Vaseline lubricant for the O ring that attached the paint container to the motor housing.

As far as the ergonomics of the Wagner 350 goes there were two problems, I found, that made the machine awkward to hold and that caused fatigue after a short while using it. The “Lock N Go” tap rested on the middle finger knuckle.

Because the knuckle was directly under the tab any motion used to manipulate the sprayer caused the knuckle to become irritated and I had to stop frequently to take the pressure off the finger. I finally adjusted my grip so that the index and middle finger were on the trigger leaving the ring finger under the “Lock N Go” tab which still became irritated but not as much.

When gripping the machine, most of the weight balanced on the webbing between the thumb and index finger. The webbing became irritated after using the 350 for a short while. The machine has a good overall balance and even when filled with liquid it didn’t tilt up or down but stayed level.

Of course, the ultimate test of the machine would be actually using it. I finally completed building two full size Adirondack chairs. They were made from 1 inch cedar wood. Because of the number of slats and curves the chairs would be difficult to paint with a brush.

This made them an ideal candidate to use a spray gun on. Before actually painting the chairs, I practiced using the Wagner 350 practice sheet. The sheet was very helpful to learn the correct way to apply the “paint”.

You learned the correct way to spray horizontally and vertically. How to adjust the width of the spray and the correct distance to hold the sprayer. If you have never used a sprayer before, I suggest you not skip this practice test.

The chairs were to receive 3 coats of outdoor spar urethane varnish. Each coat was left to dry 24 hours and between coats the chairs were sanded down with 400 grit sandpaper. The day I started it was clear, windless and in the high 70s.

Before staring on the chairs, I sprayed a couple of boards just to get the feel of the spray gun. Once I felt confident using the 350, I started on the chairs. What was amazing was how easy the machine was to use and how fast it took to do one chair.

The first one took 20 minutes and the second one about 15 minutes. I let them dry 24 hours, sanded them and did the spray job two more time. The final result was chairs that had no streaks, no drip marks and looked beautiful.

Clean-up was easy. The container was rinsed with warm water as per the manufacturer’s instructions and I sprayed warm water through the nozzle to clean it. Pros for the Wagner 350. Clear instructions regarding set-up and usage.

Machine was easy to use. Easy to adjust the spray from horizontal to vertical. Easy to adjust the width of the spray. Quick learning curve. Cons for the Wagner 350. Need to modify the grip and the Lock N Go tap area to prevent hand irritation.

Over all I was pleased with the results of the Wagner 350 and recommend it for light spraying projects.

I bought this to replace my five year old Graco Project Painter Plus. I’m a Landlord and small time property investor. I use it about a handful of times a year. This is a much better sprayer than my PPP.

Perhaps the best feature is the auto-prime. It brings up the paint and creates pressure right away. I no longer have to mess around with getting the sprayer primed and going. It is also VERY nice to have a stand for a sprayer; easier to move and you can wheel it around with the paint hanger.

This sprayer also has more power and sprays paint better than my old PPP. I wish I had spent the extra $ the first time for this sprayer. Even though you might be an occasional user as a home owner or a part time painter, I would recommend spending the extra money for this sprayer over the lower end models if you can afford it.

In the short term and long run you will be much happier. I’m sure their higher line sprayers are better, but I couldn’t justify the extra $ for my use and purpose. I have a couple of important suggestions if you don’t already know.

You must always strain your paint or primer! The strainer screen on the bottom of the suction tube is not sufficient (I actually leave mine off because I always strain my material). I use the inexpensive 5 gallon strainer nets from HomeDepot.

Also, you should always thin your paint or primer with water (for water based material). You can look up online recommended amounts of water for thinning. If you don’t take these two steps, you will likely find yourself constantly turning the spray valve to “clean” very often.

Taking the time performing these two steps up front will save you lots of time and frustration while you’re painting. One last note, it is common for the suction tube check ball to get stuck after storage.

If the sprayer won’t suck up paint right away, simply remove the suction hose and use something like a nail (upside down) to push on the check ball and make sure it’s moving. I also found that the outlet for the spray hose also has a check valve.

If the sprayer won’t pull paint and the inlet check ball is not stuck (and you have the primer knob in the correct position), unscrew the out let housing and make sure the check valve moves. I would also recommend using Graco’s Pump Armor to preserve the parts and pump.

I’m not a full time painter or professional, but all in all, I think this is a very nice sprayer. I’m happy I spent the extra money for this sprayer. I highly recommend it.

Graco X7 airless, grade C. Product came with 1 year warranty as a brand new one would have and all manuals, as a new one. To be grade C, it looked almost new, which surprised me! I have sprayed an entire metal roof with it so far and it worked 100% like a new one.

Absolutely no issues whatsoever! Couldn’t be happier with purchase!.

They are reliable and cost effective to the point where I could throw them away if they ever break. Graco sprayers are wonderful. After two years I bought 2 more. I still have all 4.

I am writing a review since I was really torn on buying this product, but glad I did – however, after extensively using this I think it’s better suited for certain projects and needs to be diligently cleaned.

We used this sprayer to paint 5 metal outbuildings including a barn on our ‘fixer upper’ farm property and feel we got immense value from it! I also used this to paint the interior hayloft white, and used it for some stain as well.

The larger nozzle works really well – however, it’s not perfect and can spatter, leaving a less than smooth finish. I think this is great for projects that don’t require an ultra-fine finish – outbuildings, etc.

I wouldn’t use it for things like cabinets, or maybe even interior paiting. I had no luck using the fine finish nozzle at all, and only used it unsuccessfully once. It is critical that you clean it well, and at the end of cleaning spray water through it to really clean it out.

It takes about 20 min to clean, but it will get gummed up and perform poorly if you don’t so take the time.

When I was younger I had several years of experience painting with both air and airless paint sprayers, so I’m not completing green to a airless sprayer. Before purchasing a DYI paint sprayer for small home projects such as redoing a chair, and other small home projects, I did my due diligence reading on-line product reviews and YouTube videos.

Finally I decided to purchase the FLEXiO 3000. Do with you as you want with your money; if my opinion or post means anything DON’T BUY IT. I used the FLEXiO 3000 twice. The first time the sprayer spit paint on everything.

Back to the provided manual and YouTube to trouble shoot. Okay – okay I thinned the latex paint and tried again. Paint dripped from the nozzle, spray nozzle clogged etc. Finally disgusted and disappointed, I cleaned the sprayer which is another mess and conversation.

Regrouping, a week goes by and I think I will try it again – with open mind. Wow, everything is going pretty good. I get one-half of a wooden chair painted when the nozzle started clogging again. Cleaned out the nozzle and tubes, back to painting, when the motor (or I believe Wagner refers to it as the turbine) just stops.

I checked the power source, no problems; the motor had just stopped. I put all the sprayer components back in the provided case. Threw everything away. $160, two weeks old, used twice. hard lesson learned – friend save your money and don’t buy this paint sprayer.

These older Graco tips work well and leave a fine smooth finish, however they spray at a high pressure resulting in a lot of overspray, waisted paint and runs on vertical surfaces. Graco has a new line of tips (FF LP) that allow you to spray at half the pressure with much less overspray.

The new tip will pay for itself in the paint you will save. Also saves a lot of time with not having to fix flaws on vertical surfaces.

Worked well to spray kitchen cabinets. Only clogged once. Always clean it well after spraying.

Just bought my third hose whip. I have one of these for each of my sprayers. Makes spraying much easier. No problem whatsoever spraying latex paints -I know some might say it’s too thin but it has worked for me.

I spray interior and exterior paints and no problem at all. Highly recommend this product.

Just your average homeowner handyman with an inexpensive Avanti unit. So glad to find that this whip fits perfect. Let’s me know that in the future I can go with even better spray guns and tips. I learn all I know from the PaintLife video’s.

Be patient, do the proper research, and properly prep the work pieces. For the money this sprayer performs very well. Just finished the kitchen cabinets and Master bath vanity and woodwork, I used Sherwood Kem Aqua Plus waterborne lacquer and the results were amazing.

That being said, I downloaded the product data sheets for both the Kem Aqua Surfacer and Kem Aqua Plus Tintable, and talked to Earlex Customer Service, as the product data sheets listed HVLP as a spray method using an air pressure of 8 to 10 psi (3 stage sprayer minimum) and a needle/nozzle set of 1.

5mm. my sprayer came with both 1. 5 and 2mm needle/nozzles. Earlex Customer service mentioned that the HV 5500 Spray Station only generates 2. 2 psi (2 stage), so in light of this information, I used the 2.

2 mm needle/nozzle set to compensate for the difference in pressures. Experimenting with flow adjustment knob and this pressure of 2. 2 psi, I was able to generate the necessary spray intensity at all 3 pattern settings, and the finish turned out very smooth and flawless.

One very important aspect above and beyond the sprayer is workpiece preparation. My items were clean, dry, free of grease, oils, other contaminants, and properly sanded to manufacture recommendations, with additional sanding in between primer coats.

All of this work paid off big time. So at the end of the day it’s not just buying a sprayer, filling it with paint, and spraying items, don’t think the average person would be very impressed with the results.

So in summary this sprayer as a tool can provide exceptional results if patience, research, and proper workpiece preparation is employed. Hat’s off to Earlex for an awesome entry level HVLP sprayer.
