20 Best Air Conditioner For Vertical Windows (2023 Updated)

My central air conditioning system died in May (it had a long and rewarding life) just as the summer heat was starting (a little early this year, of course). Replacement was weeks or possibly months out (thanks to supply chain issues), so off to my folks’ garage when they have accumulated several window units over the years – all various name brands piled up and collecting dust.

They worked fine for the bedrooms, but I needed something of a chill monster to cool my family room and adjacent kitchen. So, off to my trusted advisor, Google, to hunt for this beast. I searched for the sales first, which led me to my local membership club (the Berkeley Jensen folks).

They had a large variety of brands of window units, but I was able to filter the search for 10,000+ BTUs. Reading through the results, I needed to further refine the list since I read most every review and it would have taken me until the end of the summer to get to them all.

I liked the idea of an Alexa-enabled unit, because, well, I’m an American and getting up to change the thermostat or grab the remote all-the-way-over on the end table is so unnecessary. Four results left! The Frigidaire 12,000 BTU seemed to be the best deal, offering a nice sale price for just a little more than the 10K model.

I’ve heard or Frigidaire (unlike some other brands with strange-sounding names and all seemed to all look alike). It wasn’t in stock in my local club, so I traveled a few additional miles away and picked it up (literally, it was hEaVy), brought it home and popped it in to one of the two double hung windows in my family room.

Installation was not bad – just screw in the side-accordion things and peel off all of that plastic tape that apparently keeps the whole thing together while in transit. It was kinda pretty – especially when compared to the older units I borrowed from the ‘rents.

BUT I WASN’T DONE. Now it’s time to connect to Alexa, which never seems to go as well as I always expect it should, and this was no different. Instead of touching a few buttons to add the device in the Alexa app, I had to download and set up the Frigidaire app, which was fine, but shouldn’t really be necessary, right? I mean, I can practically connect my Alexa toaster just by saying “Alexa, connect my toaster so I can make some, y’know, toast” or something like that – so why do I need this other app? But I’m kind of used to it by now – not everything is easy, but in the scheme of the internet of things, it really wasn’t that bad.

It took only a few minutes once I found my reading glasses, and BOOM goes the A/C! I was pleasantly surprised that the commands were simply “Alexa, turn on the air conditioner” and “Alexa, lower the thermostat to 68 degrees” instead of having to rattle off some stream-of-consciousness list of instructions (although maybe if you have more than one, you may have to call out the location or something – or perhaps you can them?! (“Alexa, turn on Beverly”).

So, how does the unit itself work? Exactly as it should! It cools pretty quickly, and keeps the temperature consistent by cycling on and off as necessary. During some extreme heat, it seems to ramp up to warp speed but doesn’t rattle out of the window.

I don’t have much to compare it to, but it’s really not that quiet, although it seems to be make about the same level of noise as the older, small units. Sometimes I have to raise the TV volume a little bit, but to me, that’s a small inconvenience so I don’t have to sweat while binging (bingeing?) “New Girl” episodes that I somehow missed.

After running it for over a month now, performance is still as good as ever. I did lose connectivity to Alexa once, but I think it was my Echo Dot because it came back after I unplugged/re-plugged it in.

I also found that keeping it on all the time with the thermostat a little higher during this past week of 90+ degree weather was better than cycling it off and on after leaving and coming home. It’s still working away, my Frigidaire cooling machine.

Doing what it’s supposed to without complaint or without any regret that I didn’t buy the extended replacement contract. I expect to have my central air replaced within the next months, but I’m happy I purchased this A/C to get me and my family through this abnormally hot weather we’ve been having.

It was also A LOT cheaper than moving to the Embassy Suites which was my wife’s first solution. I’ll return my borrowed units but will either keep this one or may seek out a new home so it can run free and condition air in some other friend’s home.

TL;DR: I didn’t seek out to buy a Frigidaire Air Conditioner, but I’m glad I opted for a name brand unit since it’s been working great after 30+ days of near constant use. Sure, there are some other well-known brands out there, but I couldn’t justify the much higher price tag.

Installation was easy; Alexa set up was a little annoying but fine. It’s not loud but it certainly isn’t quiet either – but at 12,000 BTUs, I don’t know how it could be. You want quiet? Get a mini-split and pay through the nose to hang that big white thing on the wall somewhere.

I had the older model of this for almost 10 years and it worked like a champ despite the grueling conditions it was subject to. I work at home on the third floor and it gets HOT up here and stays that way for two thirds if the year so the AC runs pretty much from March to November/December.

In fact, it still runs fairly well given its age and usage but I felt it was time for a new unit. Because of all this, I decided to go with another Frigidaire of the same type and boy, did I make a good decision! This AC is great! It’s fairly quiet, all things considered and cools very well.

Despite being on the third floor of an older home with a metal roof directly above the room, it has no trouble maintaining a nice 71° at all times. The WiFi is an added bonus and integrating it with Alexa and Google Home (yes, I have both) was easy and works very well.

With the addition of a temperature sensor I was even able to create routines to turn the fan up and down depending on the temperature in the room! One thing I was surprised about was the remote control being included as it wasn’t mentioned anywhere in the product description where I purchased it.

It’s nice to have the backup in case the WiFi goes down or I just don’t feel like talking to Alexa/Google. I’m also impressed by it’s energy usage which is below what my last AC used and yet manages to out perform it handily.

I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good, solid window AC even if they don’t want or need the WiFi aspect. I look forward to buying another Frigidaire AC in another 10 years or so!.

Bought this (twice) from BJ’s. First one was physically damaged. It is a great AC that cools a LR DR Hallway and part of a Kitchen totaling around 500sq feet pretty well. Bottom of unit is awkwardly uneven with a bump out midway towards the back so it puts additional stress on one bottom spot midway up the support bracket pushing it further down than it needs to.

All the other Frigidaires I have are flat on the bottom with just a single bump out on the back which isn’t an issue for support brackets. Also, this unit turns off the display after 60 seconds which there does not appear to be a way of turning this feature off.

So the unit will always look like it’s “off” until you touch one of the buttons for the display to come back on. Not sure if this a power saving feature but it’s annoying when glancing over at the unit to see what it’s set to without having to hit a button first.

I checked the manual it sounds like this is by design(at first I thought it was defective). Also +1 for being a Swedish parent company, my Volvo approved after seeing it installed in the driveway. Other than that, its a great AC.

I had begun to give up hope re: window AC units. We live in a Cape Cod style home, so there is no duct work for a central AC. nor space for one of those cold/hot units that attach to the wall and run a pvc pipe to an outdoor unit.

Last year we saw a ‘new’ design that the window AC hangs over your window sill and into your room, so the window would only be open about 10 inches. But if you have furniture in front of it – that would be the only thing getting cool.

Then we saw Windmill – WE LOVE the look, it literally just disappears in our living room. Looking at it from the outside of the house looks clean and doesn’t hang out three feet! There is nothing else out there that looks like a Windmill.

And whoever designed the box it arrives in, is a genius. It is the best packed piece I’ve ever seen – the box is heavier than the unit itself! It was easy to install, the remote control is handy, but the phone app is fantastic.

What I didn’t expect was the instant freshness. What I mean is the air in the living room smells fresher, cleaner which is amazing since we have four dogs! It is a breeze to clean (no pun intended, or maybe the pun was intended) a damp paper towel and any fingerprints wipe clean.

It is quieter than our old units too. My daughter bought one for her bedroom and we hope to buy two more units for our upstairs bedrooms as soon as we can. We already recycled two of the old ACs at our local Recycling Center.

When I told them about the $50 savings, they wrote down Windmills information. Our ConEd bill in NY these past years have been obscene. I’m anxious to see how much these Windmills save us AND keep us comfortable during what is supposed to be a brutal summer.

This is the most beautiful, modern A/C unit I’ve ever owned. I was ambivalent initially, but the aesthetics and functionality of the Windmill matched with its stellar reviews won me over. I live alone in a NYC studio apartment in a four story walkup.

Having an adequate, quiet air conditioner during the warmer months is not a luxury, but a necessity, especially when the humidity is unrelenting. I love how gorgeous this looks in my window and how it blends with the rest of my minimalist design.

Whomever designed this product deserves props for creativity, thinking outside of the box, and delivering something to the consumer with discerning taste and needs. Yes, it is a bit more than your average A/C unit, but imagine not having to contend with additional noise, repairs or a monstrosity hanging in your window.

The Windmill is a good investment. I have issues with my spine stemming from multiple surgeries and thus hired someone whom professionally installed it for me, which was an expedient process. Treat yourself to this sublime AC.

You will not return to anything else.

Interesting new air conditioner – first one we received had a faulty display which would change the temperature setting to maximum or minimum by itself (annoying!!!). PC Richard replaced and reinstalled with a new unit and it’s working.

Be aware that cooled air does not exit the machine’s front, but instead is lofted to the sides and forward. If you are used to being able to direct the air to or away from a particular area, this unit won’t allow that.

The machine, however, cools well with more of a central air kind of feel. It can run off the Windmill app, which is cool and allows for remote turn on/off. I find to keep the room at 70 degrees, I have to set the machine at 68, but it does the job.

If you don’t know which size machine to get (6,000 btu vs. 8,000), I would go with the larger machine. The unit isn’t terribly loud but is not super quiet either. Installation is clean and the cut-yourself side panels are easy to install, attractive, and give a cleaner look than the usual accordion vinyl ones that seem to get dingy quickly.

Filter cleaning and access is easy as well.

Bought one of these 6200 ultra quiet GE window units. Wow. On high it’s 54 db and on low it’s 42db. Measured with IPhone app 4 foot away from unit. Mounted in our bedroom that’s 12/16 with attached bathroom.

Turned. On and set it to 68 and woke up with 68 temp. Ambient temp was 85. During the day it held the room at 68 with ambient temps of 102 and spending most of its time (about80%) on low. Wife and I were so impressed we bought another one the next day and installed in the kitchen.

Both units are perfect. Though these were a little more expensive than the 6000 btu GE’s, the low db (noise) make them the best choice.

This is a good air conditioner especially for the price. It does run very quietly. Quietist window unit I’ve ever heard. The only downfall is where the side panels connect to the unit is really really flimsy.

Broke a lot on one side just trying to attach it and some on the other. They need to improve that. Disappointing but still worth the purchase. The main unit seems to be good quality. Just the side panels especially where they attach to the unit aren’t good quality so I used duct tape to secure the attachment.

I Installed the ac unit in my bedroom window and run it at night in its quiet mode. No clunking compressor or other loud noises. Usually the fan and compressor start at a very slow speed and gradually increase to the quiet mode operating speed.

A few times, the fan got confused and started at full speed and then slowed down to quiet mode speed but that only happened once or twice. I am able to sleep during the night as the unit cycles on and off.

The initial box was missing the top rail that you are supposed to screw to the top of the ac unit. Lowes would not give me just the the missing part, I so had to carry the ac unit and packing materials down stairs from the second story of our house and return it to Lowes.

They exchanged it for another boxed unit that included all parts and, has been working well since I installed it a few days ago. Lowes exchange process was easy once I got the unit back to the store.

I would have given a 5 star rating if the initial box had not been missing to top rail.

My top complaint is that the smart features on this unit just don’t work and that was the main reason I chose this unit. Every time I give a command, Google replies that the AC is offline even though it’s on and connected to the Wi-Fi.

I don’t have the same problem with any of my other smart devices on the same Wi-Fi in the same room of the house. The signal can’t be blamed unless the AC is just very bad at picking it up. It also struggles to cool down this tiny room even though the description says it would be more than adequate to cover this square footage.

Going up in BTUs might fix that for you if you decide to buy. Third problem, the controls keep changing from what I set them at. And this is not a matter of automated controls kicking in like smart routines or smart triggers.

Sometimes I’ll click on ‘follow me’ or turn off Eco mode and 15 minutes later notice that it’s been switched. And that’s even when I’m using the remote or pressing the buttons right on the unit. The “Temperature Timeline” only worked on the first few days.

Now it’s glitching and saying that the AC has been running for thousands of hours (not kidding or exaggerating). The sleep routine never worked and that can’t be attributed to Wi-Fi issues because it would never actually save the routine to begin with.

The weather based triggers always fail to run. I would provide more photos but the relevant screenshots are inaccessible because it won’t let me get past the offline message. I would return for a refund but it’s too much trouble getting it out of the window and installing something else because of my bad back.

one issue that turned out not to be an issue was that when the air condition compressor went off because the desired temp had been met, the unit stopped vs continuing to keep the fan running. what i found out was this was because i inadvertently had the ‘smart’ or ‘eco’ temp feature turned on.

clearly to save energy, this feature will click everything off when the correct temp has been reached. which i likely will use when i go to sleep. however, when i’m in the room with the air conditioner on, i wish to have the fan remain on.

and am very happy to have discovered what was causing it to go off. i’ve noticed other reviewers thinking the fan normally stops, but that is true only when you have the energy saver mode on.

The Good- Its got a small footprint. Works good in a 20′ by 15′ room. Its energy efficient. Its 8000 BTU’s. It was packaged very well and arrived without damage. It’s Wi-Fi enabled and Has great instructions that allowed me to easily connect to my phone.

It was easily installed and worked right out of the box. The Bad- It’s got a small footprint. This is not an extremely powerful unit. The filter area is small and doesn’t completely cover the inlet area letting in debris through the open areas.

There is no room temp readout only a set to temp readout. The plastic the front of the unit is made of flimsy not very high quality plastic.

Early days, but it was avg to install, looks good, cooling well so far. But, I live in a very humid area and the sounds from the water pinging inside the unit were so constant and loud I wondered if there was an electrical short or mechanical issue like a fan rattle, etc.

Sounded like loud frying bacon noise!! Outside, it’s even louder, so sounds like a repair need. But, I’m waiting to see if it reduces/goes away when less humid (not often here!) to be sure it’s the ‘water pinging’ referred to in the owner’s manual as a ‘normal noise.

‘ I understand the reason not to remove the drainage plug and that the unit will do better and last longer if I allow the water to be removed by the natural heat/evaporative process within the unit (cooling the condenser).

But, this morning with 83% humidity the sound was distracting to say the least. But if it’s normal (and I’ll see this if the sounds decrease with decreased humidity) I’ll stick with it to be sure to run the unit better with the cooling function on the condenser.

That’s the only issue I have so far!.

I bought this unit to use in my home office since I work from home now and didn’t see the point of cooling my entire house with a central HVAC when I only need to keep one room cool. The air coming out of the unit is around 50F which is very cold, so no complaints there.

The remote is very handy and I don’t have to get up if I want to adjust the temperature or fan speed. The remote has buttons for every option that is available on the main unit. One thing that disappointed me a little was that the larger 8K BTU unit does NOT come with the extra insulation panels weather strips that the 6K BTU has.

Installation was a bit of a pain and definitely is a two person job for the 8K BTU unit. I bought this unit because it was consistently rated as the most quiet AC window unit. Its still louder than I would like because of the “wet fan” setup and you hear the fan hitting the water to cool off the condenser coils.

I’ve thought about pulling the drain plug out so it wouldn’t be as loud but haven’t gotten around to testing to see how much that reduces the cooling efficiency. Fortunately the noise it does make is just low enough it doesn’t get picked up by my webcam when I’m on zoom calls but I can definitely hear it.

The thermostat appears to be off by about 3-4 degrees. I have mine set at 73F and it keeps the room around 77F. Not a big deal but just something you might want to know. Final thing I would point out is the vents for the air are definitely on the cheap side and don’t offer a lot of room for adjustment if that is important for you.

The air primarily blow up which works fine for me, but if you want your AC to blow directly on you, that might be a problem with this unit. The adjustments for blowing the air left or right are very limited and only offer about 15 degrees of movement.

The first couple weeks I could not have been happier with this a/c, it cooled as expected and was almost too quiet. Living in an apartment I enjoy the a/c drowning out some of the ambient sounds from the neighbors.

In quiet mode, the cooling was still great and near silent! The good things first, I love the positioning of the blower because I have a chair next to the window. I can still sit comfortably in my favorite chair without the a/c blowing directly on me.

The area I am cooling is just under 300 sq ft. I don’t run the a/c all day, I typically will run it for a couple hours in the morning but definitely all night once I am ready for bed. At night I have been putting the temp at 66 on energy save and auto.

The first couple weeks checking the temp with my infrared reader my room was a chilly 65-67 degrees, perfect for me to sleep well. The past couple nights, I woke up feeling very warm. Using my infrared temp monitor much to my disappointment, my room was a stuffy 74.

I changed the settings to cool and the fan to high and didn’t notice a substantial difference in the blower fan or the unit’s ability to maintain a cool temp. My infrared temp showed the blower at about 62.

Usually it hovers somewhere between the 30s to 40s. Having only had this for a month, this is very disappointing. I will be reaching out to customer service for troubleshooting and perhaps a service call.

Certainly I would expect this product to work for years to come, not just 1 month. The not so good: The installation was a bit of a challenge because the bottom of the a/c is not completely flat which left me trying to make some adjustments with my window.

If you look closely at the pictures I posted you will see I had to add some wood to the bottom of the a/c for support and balance. This made for a challenging task of sealing the area to keep as much warm air and bugs out.

The accordion closers were not wide enough and I ended up having to add to them so that they would keep the elements out. Please make the accordion closers at least 12 inches, better to be to much than not enough.

A couple of other observations, it would be nice if the temp reader either on the a/c unit itself or on the remote would provide the estimate temp in the room at least briefly. The remote is impossible to read especially in the dark when it is most needed.

There should be a backlight on it when a button is pushed. I had high hopes for this unit because I have the smaller version in another room and it has worked beautifully for the past 2 years. Maybe I just got a lemon.

When it cools it is FANTASTIC, I am hopeful that what ever is wrong is an easy fix. Based on my experience with the smaller version and the early experience with this one I would recommend with caution.

I live in Wisconsin on a lake. It get hot and humid. This air conditioner does what it says it will do. I have a 380 sq. ft. room to cool, and it does it within 30 minutes. The outside temperature was 92, and when I set this air conditioner at 72 for cooling, that’s what it reads as actual temperature in the room! I could even go lower if I wanted to.

Also, I don’t know why people complain about the noise. I can hear everything from my TV in the room. The ECO setting is great. comes on and off when needed, and regulates the fan speed to match the conditions.

The installation was simple. about 30 minutes to set in the foam insulators. The remote control is accurate. the air conditioner and the remote are in sync. it reads the temperature off the remote and sets the room cooling as needed.

Also, i appreciate the early delivery. Now. let’s see if it functions as good next year when I re-install it in the room. I won’t know about the electric consumption until next month. the the giant old AC units I was using sucked a lot of power.

This unit seem to be very powerful with little effort. I can still lift it into the window even though it weighs over 60 lbs. I would only suggest that the make the printing of the controls and their control LED’s of the controls larger, and make the styrofoam air duct used for the fan could be made with a stronger material.

I noticed a small crack in the foam which did not effect its operation, but it was disappointing to see that when it was new. Those of us who are 68 years old have weak eyes, and it difficult to read the print on the remote and the AC contol panel.

I received only 3 months of use from this air conditioner after purchase. When I reinstalled it the next year, it just blew hot air. The filter and coils were clean and the control panel, thermostat, and compressor worked correctly.

I assume it must have had a refrigerant leak. Unfortunately, it was one month past the 1-year warranty when I reinstalled it and found it no longer worked. I spent approximately 5 hours on the phone over two days trying to get assistance from Frigidaire.

After jumping through all of the hoops their representatives told me to pursue, I was ultimately told it was an “auto replace” unit, meaning there were no parts or service available. I was extremely disappointed by the poor quality product and poor service I received.

I have already replaced the unit with a competitor’s and I will not do business with Frigidaire again after this experience.

I live in a very old house that is incredibly poorly insulated, and the HVAC was essentially just blowing air underneath my house as opposed to into it. I don’t plan to live here much longer, so I didn’t want to put a ton of money into home reno, but I needed to stay COOL in these hot southern summers! This A/C has been an actual godsend.

It was super simple to install and get running. I’m a single woman of short stature. I was able to get this thing installed and running all by my lonesome within a half hour. Granted, I was fueled solely by my burning hatred of the hot, sticky feeling that’s one of the least charming things about the humidity in the rural south.

I was able to get a pretty good seal with just the insulation strips provided with the unit, and so far I’ve not seen any stray murder hornets find their way inside. I had read some reviews stating that the app was hard to set up or hard to get to connect, but so far I’ve had minimal issues.

It was pretty quick to set up, and it doesn’t even have to be on the same wifi band as my phone, so I keep it on the 2ghz while my phone is on the 5ghz, and it’s not given me any trouble, which I was stoked about.

I’m even able to check it while I’m away from home and set it to whatever temp I’d like, which has been a favorite feature of mine, as well as my Siberians. I think my tundra dogs hate the heat almost as much as I do.

…almost. The features have been great, and I like that I can check the ambient temperature of the room from the app. The remote is also great because I don’t always want to have to use the app, but I want to have to get up and walk the three feet away to the unit itself even less.

You can schedule the A/C on a timer, and there’s even a night mode, which is really cool if you’re energy efficiency minded or trying to keep your power bill in check. That said, I think I’m spending significantly less on the reasonable power use of this window a/c than I was with the HVAC, which was really only keeping the strays that live under my house “cool cats and kittens.

” Sadly, I don’t have a rich husband to off, so it’s not really feasible for me to continue running the HVAC just for them. This was advertised as one of the “quiet” models, and I do still feel like it can be a little on the loud side, but like I said, I usually only sit about three feet away from the thing.

It’s not loud by any means, but it’s also not near-silent. It’s a lot quieter from across the room, but honestly, it could sound like a sixteen year old learning to drive stick for the very first time and I really don’t think I would care because it works so well at keeping me cool.

For the price and the amenities, I really can’t complain about this unit in the slightest. This is my second Frigidaire A/C, and I’ve been pleased both times. So long as Frigidaire is in the business of making A/C’s, I can hold off asking myself “Why do I still live here?” for the eight months out of the year it’s hotter than cornbread cast iron right out of the oven.

At WM’s price as of 03/21 there really is no choice; if price is less of a concern I’d go with LG’s smallest inverter. It took a brutal NE humid summer to challenge the historic commission with a window AC on the street, moved a mid sized LG inverter in the 15×20, needed something for the 15×15 kitchen, curtained from an always open dog door glass doors skylight 10×15 plant room with grow lights in winter.

I had a Toshiba/Midea feature rich which hid its packing styrofoam as internal baffles well; LG has rotomolded plastic; this Frigidaire doesn’t hide its clearly loose fitting styrofoam, through which you can see daylight.

Since installation it’s been ~65-70f days, 40-60f nights, so I don’t know how well this will work mixing at least some outside air with cold this summer, but, when I cook temps rise at least 10f quickly which puts me in a homicidal mood, and in March/April ’21 this thing keeps me calm.

Used the app first night with no issues; manually set it to 65f eco, haven’t touched it in three weeks. Kicks on when it hears me coming (I raise temps by 5f just breathing. ) Disappointed we’re now at a point when we wish the manufacturer would splurge on *plastic* parts.

Or even better styrofoam. PS moved into a Mitsibishi Mr Slim, zero literature, numbers nor remote; I hate humid heat which the Mits is pretty anemic against, though it’s great as supplemental heat against LED grow lights two rooms away winters.

If you want cold, get a big window unit and offset the cost by getting an inverter unit, relatively not much more cost.

Our old window unit finally died after 4 years, so it was time for an upgrade. We had a 10,000 BTU unit for an 830 square foot house, and it just didn’t quite cut it. We saw this 15000 unit, and corcthe price, couldn’t pass it up.

Best decision we ever made! This unit is a beast! Install was simple, purchased the window bracket as well, due to the larger size and weight. Bracket comes with all necessary accessories to make sure it fits your window frame, and the Ac units directions were fool proof.

Purchased in May, and this thing has been a life saver 10 times over so far. Reaches every room with ease, and it gets too cold sometimes, but the thermostat works flawlessly, fan on Auto, Eco mode, and it’s perfect.

Connecting the Frigidaire app is seemless, and perfect for when you’re in bed, and want to adjust temperature without having to get up. All in all, this unit is exactly what we were looking for, and I only wish we found it 4 years ago! Highly recommend this unit if you have a small home, or a large room 800-1000 Sq.

It is great! I can control it from my phone due to it being connected to wifi, so wether I am in bed or away from home, I can adjust the temperature or set schedules for when to have it on and off and at what temperature and setting in general.

Between this AC and a 12000BTU AC it keeps my entire house cool with doors open (Living Room, Game Room, Guest Room, Kitchen, Office Room, Bedroom, even both bathrooms). So cold, everyone wants blankets or something hot to drink.

Now you don’t have to have it that cold but we love it. And this Frigidaire 15000BTU AC helps make that happen! We Love It! I recommend. You can control it from either phone app, remote that it comes with, or even walking up to it and changing it.

The display light turns off so you don’t have to worry about that annoying little light. It tells you when filter needs to be changed. The air vents give you the option to have it facing/blowing two different directions.

This unit has zero problems cooling my entire 850 sq ft downstairs. I did the installation by myself, which probably isn’t recommended as you have to take out the AC unit from the cage, install the cage into the window, and then lift the heavy AC unit into the installed cage.

Would definitely recommend 2 people to lift the device to be safe but I was alone and just needed to get the unit in ASAP. It takes a little bit of time to install but is definitely worth it after you get it in.

It’s also nice that you can control the unit from anywhere with the app, which tells you the temp in your house and gives you full control over the unit from wherever you may be. You also do not need any adaptors or any changes to electrical work in your home and can be plugged into the standard house electrical outlets.

I bought this to replace an 18,000 btu unit from Frigidaire. It is so much quieter plus it cools faster. We also use it to cool 2 different rooms. The 4 way directional airflow works so much better than the Frigidaire.

We can feel the cool air on the sofa in the living room and in the kitchen which are in completely different directions. It’s also a very modern, attractive unit. The ThinIQ app is also great, being able to control the unit from your phone including starting it remotely in hot weather is awesome.

I bought this about a month ago and have not regretted one minute of purchasing it!. The unit has many different settings and the remote control makes it very easy to change them. At 22,000 btu’s its surprisingly quiet even when its set at maximum fan speed.

But the best thing about it is the sleep mode. In sleep mode you can barely hear it. And you can set it for 7 hours of very quiet cooling. I live in a 900 square foot apt. My old A. C. was so loud I could not hear my TV it was so loud.

It also did not cool my whole apt. This unit cools my whole apt even on the lowest fan setting. I can not say enough about how great this unit is. Living in California where there has been record heat waves you need a unit that will preform well.

This unit is the best on the market hands down.

This is been installed now for over a month and after getting my first power bill since I switched I was pleasantly surprised. It’s powerful – 22,000 BTU and yet drawing under 1500 watts (1300 I believe) makes this a viable alternative to a central system.

The unit it replaced was louder, less powerful, and seemed to use more power. It cools the upper floor and can cope with the hottest of days. The other reason I bought this is the remote control so I can use the mobile app to monitor the temperature of my house when staying with my partner an hours drive away.

This means that if I want to cool the house in time for my arrival I can do that easily via my iPhone, and sometimes just turn it up or down that way too. The app it easy to set up. This is a very heavy unit and took all my strength to get it up the stairs on my own.

I would have got help but there is a pandemic going on. I managed to get it installed but highly recommend two people for the job. That said, everything you need including an outside support for the unit in included.

I ran a dedicated power line for the high voltage and all good so far. Note that there are some lower powered units that run on regular voltage. I registered the unit online which was also easy for warranty purposes.

Can’t report on support or customer service have not needed so far.

I found the installation of the stylish LG 10,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner to be fairly uncomplicated. The unit comes with an installation kit, and an easy-to-use remote control. This marvelous dual inverter AC offers outstanding performance.

It has two compressors, multiple modes (including an energy savor mode), and useful smart features. The unit effectively cools a room faster and more efficiently than my previous traditional AC. The thermostat on the model is very accurate.

Temperature regulation is superb. The sleep mode turns off the unit after a set time. The fan can go in different directions. You can adjust how bright the display is, so the light doesn’t keep you awake.

I also like that the AC alerts you when its easily accessible, washable filter needs to be cleaned. This standout unit has proven to be quite energy-efficient, and I have experienced a welcome drop in my electric bill.

Additionally, this smart AC connects easily to Wi-Fi and features LG ThinQ, which works with Google Assistant and Alexa. I appreciate the ability to control the unit with the app or by just my voice.

Being able to remotely turn the AC on or off and change its temperature settings from my smartphone is a handy perk when I am away from home. I am also impressed and really happy with the noise level of the model.

Both the compressor and fan operate extremely quietly with minimal vibration even on the highest setting. Thoroughly satisfied.

This LG 8,000 BTU air conditioner is fantastic. First of all it is super quiet and efficient. It cooled my master bedroom in no time, and actually made the room smell better. {we installed new wall to wall carpeting} The dry feature actually takes the dampness out of the room on those humid 93 degree days.

The Energy Saver feature has the unit going on and off at different intervals throughout the day to regulate the temperature. It also has an “auto clean” feature that you can set that evaporates any moisture generated inside the unit that may have accumulated, thereby making it more efficient and leaving no stale scents other air conditioners get over time.

The remote control is an added feature if you don’t feel like getting out of bed to change the temp in the room, or turn the unit off or on. I haven’t used the wifi feature from my phone so can’t comment on that.

Overall this will not disappoint! One side note, it has 3 settings F1 F2 F3 for power, with F3 being the highest, it isn’t full force in your face, but it apparently doesn’t have to be. because the room is cooled in no time.

I’m guessing the inverter is responsible for that. Its a weird phenomenon but it works! I highly recommend this unit! I used to buy Freidrich but now I am all LG!!!.
