20 Best Affordable Stackable Washer And Dryer (2022 Updated)

After reading all the reviews I had high hopes that this washer/dryer would do an adequate job but it seems like that isn’t the case. As others mentioned the controls take a bit to get used to but after using it for a couple of weeks my view is that it’s not too flexible when it comes to customizing the wash/dry cycles.

I’m hoping that it’s just me not knowing how to use it but I don’t think that’s the case. For my washes and drying I usually don’t use the default settings since it’s either not at the temperature I need or the length of time I need the cycle to last.

With my old washers I can easily change the settings manually but with this unit I have to go through a somewhat extended process to achieve what I want. There really should be a way to save my choices as a custom setting so that I don’t have to do it every time but it seems like there isn’t.

Another thing that’s disappointing is that I don’t think it’s washing the clothes clean. I even used they heavy soil setting but it didn’t help. My kid is in basketball and lately the clothes have been soaked with sweat.

I used to not wash it right away and as you can imagine the smell of the clothes was awful. I had to presoak the clothes to get rid of the smell. This time I decided to wash it right away. Knowing that the sweat drenched the clothes I added Lysol pretreatment to the wash and set the soil level to heavy.

When the wash was completed (to over two hours) I started emptying the clothes into the dryer but noticed that there was still some lingering scent is sweat. This leads me to think that the unit isn’t doing a good job with the wash.

As for the drying, similar to the wash there’s not custom setting to save my choices. What’s even worst is that I can’t seem to find a way to manually set the unit to dry my clothes for longer than 60 minutes.

If I known how restricting this set was I might have not purchased it. I’m hoping that LG can update their software to this unit so that it’ll allow more customization. I doubt it but I can hope, right?.

When we decided to move our laundry from the basement to the first floor, we thought we’d have to choose either side-by-side machines or the small, ugly over/under units we had seen. Stackable units weren’t an option, because the dryer is too far off the floor; a stool would be needed to reach deep into the dryer, and even to reach the controls.

The WashTower was a surprise! With a vertically central control panel, operating either machine is easy; the dryer is low enough that we can reach the back; the capacity is greater than the units we replaced; and it looks good, too! The decision was made easier by comments from friends who had WashTowers; all of them told us how much they loved them.

The only downside is that the smart features may not work with all wi-fi systems. At the moment, it seems the smart features aren’t essential, so we’re using the basic functions available on the control panel.

If you’re going to use the steam dry feature, you need four hoses. Although we’ve had it for only a short time, the WashTower is impressive, and works well.

I wouldn’t purchase these again. You have to leave all of the doors opened when not in use to prevent mildew. That’s not great for narrow areas. I’ve noticed that unless the prewash is selected, clothes don’t actually get that clean.

I like the sanitary setting, especially if you have a sick person in the house. It doesn’t destroy or fade clothing, probably because it doesn’t do that good of a job cleaning the clothes in the first place.

The stupid signal from these appliances interrupts any other wifi devise in the basement. It’s so annoying and so unnecessary. Unless it can put the clothes in the dryer, that feature is completely useless for the consumer.

I’ve owned these now for about three years. To their credit they have not broken down. I paid for the installation through Warner Stellian. They failed to hook up the mini washer. This washer can be purchased separately, but the larger washer sits on top of it.

I had to put work on hold twice for the installation, as they had to send a tech back out again. Then the manager at the Nicollet store tired to charge me for it. I should charge them my hourly billing rate for them wasting my time.

I have been a loyal customer of Warren Stellian for many years. Don’ know anymore.

Once again, tomorrow morning I will call the appliance store where I bought this unit about 9 1/2 months ago. A technician has made a service call at least 5 or 6 times. When I first got it, I loved it.

Larger tub and dryer than the unit I replaced. However, I. had the other unit for 14 years, never had a service call and it was still working when I replaced it. I was remodeling my house and purchased all new appliances, but I regret buying the one I have.

First service call was because the only way I could get it to drain was to manually select the Drain & Spin cycle, after the wash cycle, then run the wash cycle again with no detergent to substitute for the risnse cycle.

The technician said I was using too much detergent so the sensor wouldn’t allow the washer to drain. He also told me I was mixing light pieces with heavy ones and I couldn’t do that with this washer “which was not meant to operate like a full size washer, was intended for apartments.

Anyway he got it working properly. I( have carefully measured the detergent has he instructed and for a while if I only washed a set of twin sheets, it worked fine. But if I did a load of towels–one bath towel, a reversible fabric bath mat, my light weight waffle weave towel wrap, a hand towel, a washcloth and a turbo twist very small hair drying towel, it wouldn’t drain.

I didn’t dare add anything to either load except for those items and NEVER mixed sheets and towels which I find ridiculous. Sometimes the speed wash cycle would work but even that wouldn’t drain and finally not a single cycle works.

As soon as the washer with the loads I have described above, fills to the level I have selected it immediately starts to drain, but never goes into the spin cycle. My warranty expiration is the last of September I am beginning to get really nervous but not to the extent that I will extend the warranty at $90 a year! I want this unit fixed or replace with the service call I will request tomorrow.

And I am really anxious about the French doors refrigerator, the kitchen range, and the microwave I bought at the same time. All of the other appliances I used for 14 years with never a single service call is what I expected for these GE products.

If the other appliances had still been available I never would have switched brands. For 60 years I had a succession of that brand of appliances that lasted for many years, totally trouble free. To say I am disappointed in my GE purchases is an understatement.

This is the worst washing machine I have ever had. These High Efficiency machines use very little water. But this one is beyond the pale. If you look inside this machine as it’s running you can barely see any water and not all the clothes are even wet, even if you use the “bulky items” setting, which according to the user guide is supposed to fill the tank with water.

Result is that it beats the clothes to a pulp as it washes. Even after one washing of cotton tee shirts you can see the wear on the fabric. And then there’s the spin cycle problem. Because there is not enough water the clothes often distribute to one side and the spin cycle turns into an out of balance condition – just about every time! Left to it’s own the machine will then do another “rinse” (rinse is in quotes because rinse cycles on this machine don’t use enough water to actually rinse out the soap), further beating the clothes to a pulp and then going into another out-of-balance spin, and then repeating ad infinitum.

You have to be there to stop the machine, redistribute the clothes and switch it to the “drain and spin” cycle. I have tried faking the machine out by adding a few quarts of water with the clothes before it does its load detection in the hope that the machine will think I have a bigger load and then add more water.

This helps a little, but not enough to solve the problems. Also, you have to dilute the detergent with the water you add before the machine starts because otherwise there is not enough water in the tank to dilute the detergent and you find detergent on the clothes when the cycle completes — which you then have to wash off by hand.

I am very sorry I bought this machine and plan to replace it very soon.

We had been reviewing this and other laundry center units for over a year. After much debate and discussions with salespeople in several stores we decided to purchase this unit. I was looking forward to having a washer and dryer with more capacity.

This unit does have that however the number of times I have had the machine go out of balance since the purchase has been absolutely infuriating and unacceptable. It does not matter how we have loaded the machine, large or small, clothing or bedding or towels, every third load or so it goes out of balance.

We made sure the unit is level and followed the instructions on how to load the machine correctly. We have spoken to the store where we purchased the unit several times and they have been as helpful as they as possible, but we are still having the same issue.

You have to sit by the machine to make sure you stop it before the drum breaks through the front of the machine. We have a limited area in which to place it which happens to be right next to the hot water heater and we simply cannot take the chance of the machine pushing it over.

We have spoken to GE and the store where we purchased the machine and have been told not only by the store but other stores as well that this is a very common problem with these new units. After checking other laundry centers except for a front load machine, the drum is loose and has a tendency to unbalance.

I do not understand why anyone would make a machine that does this. We are now trapped and have no recourse; I do hope in the near future your engineers will rethink how to build a machine that doesn’t unbalance like this.

We have had 2 other laundry centers prior to this, the last one for 16 years, and NEVER had a problem with unbalanced loads.

We travel extensively and rent condos, most of which have one brand or another of a stackable washer dryer. The most common complaint on all of those was that they were noisy, so when buying one for our home, a quiet unit was our first search key.

After that I reviewed comments from owners of these type units. I started with the lowest ratings and found many common themes among those who didn’t like them. The same can be said for the top ratings and common themes from those owners.

Overall, many of the low ratings had more to do with the local retailer, delivery/setup, and slow service complaints on the units that had out-of-the-box failures and what turned out to be improper operating by new owners.

After much research, I settled on this unit. Have had it a couple months now and can say I’m completely satisifed. Our dishwasher is rated at 43 sones and the bathroom exhaust fan rated at 60 sones. This stackable has a sound level somewhere between those two.

Closing the door to the room where it is located is all it takes to get nearly unnoticable noise levels. It is not soundless, and by just focusing for its running noises, it is easy to tell when either the washer or the dryer cycle has completed.

The self-balancing feature has engaged only a couple times, and it works beautifully. The location of the electro-mechanical controls at the midpoint between the two units makes them easily accessable.

The wide variety of selectable cycles and features meets the needs of the gambit of loads. I like the fact that the controls are not electronic, but mechanical. Eliminates the possible failure and cost of a combined electronic touch panel.

The unit does have onboard diagnostic routines however that will greatle aid in any future troubleshooting. The dryer dries quickly. Overall there is a solid construction. I noted that the dryer door is much more substantial than most units I’ve previously used.

The space above the washer door is adequate for filling and removing articles from the washer. Although the very top panel of the unit appears to have been damaged in shipment because of the way it is bulged out, this is actually the design to make room for the dryer tub.

Not noticable unless you stand behind the unit which is usually against the wall. There were some reviews that mentioned eventual failure of the spline/clutch (affectionately called splutch), but that would make sense since this is the main mechanical operating link between washer cycles.

Review of repair procedures for that looks like something I can do myself if it ever becomes necessary. All in all, very happy with the quality, performance, and price. Would buy again.

All-in-all, the units are doing ok but my wife has shared some frustrations on how the dryer will not shut off on its own, therefore she can’t just leave something in and leave. Also installing the brackets, not included, was almost impossible in our RV due to the limited access and confined space you have in most RV’s.

I am sure there are applications where this is not a problem but it is impossible in our unit. And regarding installation, the dryer has a plastic adapter for the vent hose to attach to and it has a tendency to pop off while sliding the units in place requiring that I tape all of the fittings to the unit.

It washes and drys about as expected, the details are just a little lacking.

Long story short the programming went bad after the 4th wash and would get stuck on wash and never drain. I have yet to receive a new one from warranty and I have yet to receive a refund or exchange from home depo.

I have this expensive product hooked up not functioning for over 4 weeks and I don’t have the money to just get a whole new set when I have not even paid this set off. Got a home depo card specifically for this purchase to make it in payments.

I love the color, design, features and capacity of both washer/dryer. Clothes wash well and dry well (I have electric dryer). This unit would have 5 starts but. My only complaint is when using the unit, the water won’t dispurse without the lid down and locked.

I like to put my laundry soap into the basin while the water is running before adding clothes. I can’t do that with this machine unless I wait for the water to stop (which also means I cannot use precise fill).

I don’t like adding laundry soap on top of clothing. With the inability to add soap to water because of the lid lock (with no clothing added), there should be a soap dispenser feature. similar to the bleach and softner dispenser feature so the laundry soap dispurses evenly in the water/clothes.

I know I have the option to buy pods, but I use unscented laundry soap for allergy purposes so I am reluctant to try another brand. I might be old school, but I’m not a fan of the locking lid except for when the basin is spinning.

I like the machine for the most part but I’ll have to get used to this lid lock. (Obviously it’s been a long time since I bought a new machine as I’ve never owned one that locked). GE I hope you take the laundry soap dispenser suggestion into consideration.

Also, the agitator noise at the beginning of the cycle is a bit obnoxious. I would never buy this unit if I didn’t have a room with a door to block this sound. I was surprised by this and hope with more use, it quiets down (wishful thinking?).

I like the unit, but I expected more for being brand new and GE brand. I have all GE appliances throughout my home and rate them all 5 stars, except for this one.

It’s a bummer because I really love this washer/dryer stack. We have an old home and needed something quite slim to fit in the laundry nook and this is the PERFECT fit. When it is working, it’s efficient, fairly quiet, and a shockingly solid capacity for being a smaller unit.

We always have fresh smelling and clean clothing. The issue I have with this unit is we purchased in August of 2021 for our house that we were fixing up to live in and didn’t start using it outside of construction rags and super small loads until December 2021 when we moved into the home full time.

Right before Christmas, the machine stopped draining and spinning due to a broken lid-lock feature. it would click a whole bunch trying to lock the lid, and then just turn off. Had a tech out, had to wait 2 weeks to ship the part, and finally got it fixed early Jan 2022.

Now it’s march 2022 and the lid lock seems to be failing again less than 60 days after replacing the first time. Consistently the loads are not draining and spinning on their own. I have to manually set it to drain and spin and it does the multiple clicks trying to lock to engage the cycle before it starts.

Its still starting for now, but I don’t trust it. I have a tech coming out but its frustrating that with less than a year of ownership, and less than 1 box of tide pods worth of loads, it’s breaking TWICE.

Terribly unhappy with this product and wishing I would have spent more elsewhere or just not with GE at all.

I had to replace my 5 year old front load washer. It needed a tub bearing which was very expensive. I was excited with the prospect of once again owning a Whirlpool washer. The old washer was a name brand that I was never happy with.

I am so satisfied with my new Whirlpool 4. 5 Cu. Ft. Front load washer. It is such a pleasure to now do laundry. The control panel display is easy to navigate and understand. Unfortunately, there is no way to clean the filter from the front of the washer.

I do miss this feature but not enough to ever again buy another brand. I highly recommend Whirlpool appliances. Not sure why I ever thought another brand could come close to Whirlpool’s quality and standards.

I bought this on July 15 and it was the same day in the upstairs laundry along with a matching dryer which works fine. The washer functions mechanically but will not complete the washing cycle (stops with about 1 minute on timer and requires unplugging from wall and manually initiating drain/spin cycle).

Registered product and called Whirlpool on July 16. After having to endure endless “covid issues” recordings finally talked to a Representative who took my info, advised that there isn’t a “qualified” service person in my area and said Whirlpool would get back to me (which they never did) regarding getting service.

I called again on July 27 and received an apology and a promise that I’d be contacted within five business days which means that around three weeks will have transpired before I even get a glimmer of what Whirlpool is going to do.

Needless to say, I’m not happy. Have a house full of Whirlpool products and I prefer to buy American, however, I’m very likely to change my attitude after this experience.

We’ve had this washer for a little over a month and it’s been great so far! It’s soo quiet compared to the old top loader we had. What’s more is that it’s really efficient since it’s a side load and so you don’t have to worry about doing smaller loads and wasting water because it doesn’t need that much water.

It also spins super fast, so the clothes come out needing very little drying. The other thing is that it doesn’t destroy our clothes the way the top loader would with the agitator. It’s a great washer and we hope it will last a long time.

I highly recommend this one.

Absolutely love the washer/dryer…washer washes a normal load for a small washer and the dryer dries the clothes very quickly! They are both super quiet and you hardly even notice the spin out cycle. I can not stress enough how the washer washes the clothes so thoroughly, I wasn’t expecting such a great wash when I purchased them.

You’d think being RV rated they wouldn’t be as good as your home systems…but I was pleasantly surprised by how well they work and get your clothes clean and quickly dried. Don’t waste your money buy the splendide brand you’ll be amazed and happy you did.

We purchased this W/D combo for our RV and I am so glad we did. They are amazing! The clothes and linens come out clean and smelling nice and fresh. Also, I was surprised at the amount of items that I could launder at one time.

As a new RVer, we’ve had to make several purchases for our camper but I can honestly say this W/D pair has made a huge difference. If you’re undecided about this pair, don’t be. You won’t be disappointed.

My overall experience was pretty good. Our products were shipped quickly and the products were very economically priced compared to other companies. Working with their customer service by email was great.

The warehouse did ship us the wrong washer, which can happen but what puzzled us was that the shipping company was not able to pick up the wrong washer at the same time when they delivered the correct washer so we were out a complete day waiting for the pickup company to pickup the wrong washer.

They were not timely at all. That is the only negative experience I had.

Delivered on Tues, Aug 23/22. I was worried about size of Tub but it is more than large enough for ONE Person’s laundry. I wanted impeller type but also needed Left Hinge dryer door. THIS Model YWET4024HW is the only “all-in-one” laundry centre with a left hinge dryer door.

I’ve done one load and I’m impressed. I did first load on Normal, next load I’ll see how the Heavy Duty Performs. I must dispute reviews that claim very noisy and that machine moves on high spin. It is quieter than my 11year old compact Frigidaire Front Load Washer which sounded like a jet taking off at final high speed spin.

I recommend my Whirlpool Laundry Centre (No Agitator) but it is early days! I also suggest that buyers purchase the Whirlpool 4 Year service plan for 5 years of peace of mind.

The dryer felt seal had a factory defect and needed to be replaced less than 5 months after installation. Thankfully covered under the factory warranty through Whirlpool. I’ve read other reviews about loud noises caused by the filing or rinse cycles that sound like a banging.

Please look up what a water hammer is. That’s what’s happening. The valves are closing too quickly. This can damage plumbing over time. My old machine wasn’t an HE model and didn’t do this. Newer machines have much faster closing valves that are more prone to this issue.

Not a DIY fix unless you’re super comfortable with plumbing. The valve problems aside, it’s very noisy when sensing for water levels. Despite this stuff it washes well and is easy to keep clean. I didn’t have a lot of options due to space constraints.

I bought this machine a few months ago. It’s a good machine but it’s loud and noisy and it doesn’t wash as well as my other machine did. It does wash the clothes good enough, but when I start comparing it to my old washing machine I think that washed the clothes a bit better.

I wish it was a bit quieter. I used to have an LG and that washed the clothes better and it was way quieter, it was actually totally silent. Overall, it’s a not a bad machine but it requires some improvement, both in terms of quality of washing and in term of the loud noise.

The size is very good and I love the glass lid. In terms of aesthetics is very nice and a like it a lot, specially the glass lid.

This unit looks sleek and modern. I love the lighted drums, the cycle finish tunes, and the easy to reach control panel. It is quiet, both washing and drying. However there is quite a learning curve for me and my laundry routines to accommodate the Washtower operation.

This unit was a replacement for front loading pair vintage 2004. In most cases my laundry was 2 cycles and 2 temperature combinations for settings for both wash and dry. Now I pine for the simplicity of my “old fashioned” machines and find the features that are supposed to be helpful are not.

For example, the most frustrating part of this unit is the inability to fully program loads to get the combinations of washing and drying temperatures. From the fabric care tags (which I follow diligently) most wash loads are warm or cold wash in normal or delicate cycle and drying on low heat.

Washing can usually be accomplished by selecting some garment category which may or may not exactly describe what is being washed. Drying however is a much bigger problem. The only way I can get a low temperature dry is to use a delicate cycle and adjust from there to get the clothes dry.

Often parts of a load require 2-3 trips to get dry (particularly waistbands and thick ply construction around pockets). I felt I could overcome this with the ability to create my own settings on a downloadable program, but as yet I have yet to be able to find how to do this, even with the Thinq app and wifi connection.

Descriptions of the feature abound but I have yet to find actual instructions to accomplish this. The larger openings make getting clothes in and out easy, however the large door swing has made my laundry room setup much less convenient than before and I’m contemplating having to have the space revamped to provide easier access.

I’m trying really hard not to be an “old dog” and learn some new tricks, but often I pine for my familiar, functional 15+ year old set. My recommendation of this product would come with the caveats explained above.

We recently moved into condo in downtown Toronto and inherited an early 90’s vintage Maytag Laundry Centre. I put a few repair dollars into the washer but the dryer was failing with no option to repair as the parts we needed were longer available.

I had done a fair amount of research on which new pair we would invest in and it kept coming back to the LG Washtower. It fit the tight space and covered all bases for what our family of three needs are.

Most reviews I read were positive and the people who wrote them were very commonsensical people. Seems any bad reviews I read were written by people who either did not know what they were doing, had poorly researched the machine, and or did not have the machine properly installed.

Lowes brought and installed the Washtower correctly after they removed the old one. I had supplied new hoses as per their requirement. We bought the white cabinet version and although it has less bells and whistles, it was $200 cheaper.

Less is more in my way of thinking. There are enough load type choices for the laundry you need to do and all customizable. If you want more, use the App but I find the machine pretty much covers everything.

The thing is easy enough to use. It’s almost anticlimactic once you use it a few times. Purely and and simply, the washer washes fine and the dryer dries the way you would expect. It’s relatively quiet.

I have read some silly complaints about little things that some people find annoying but in the end it’s still just a washing machine. If all else fails. follow instructions I’ve done towels, bedding and regular clothes washing.

It all came out clean and dry. There are other potentially better machines out there but also more costly. This one seems to be a good blend of cost and performance and seems uniquely suited to tight spaces.

It does the job. The App is the only thing that needs work but it is helpful to some degree. But using it will not make your clothes any cleaner.

This washer dryer stackable is nicely designed. The center menus are accessed easily. The aesthetics of this machine are clean and I like the color (dark grey). The cubic size for both are perfect for the two of us.

I feel like it cleans better than my old setup. There’s only one drawback at this moment. The instructions say to wipe down the washer after use. and to leave the door open for 24 hours to avoid mold/mildew.

There are many folds in the rubber where water can/does get trapped. We do wipe it down but, it’s a bit of a hassle. We are complying with the suggestions and additionally wiping down the interior with distilled vinegar once a week to boot.

I saw this on YouTube and feel it’s a good idea. We’ve had ours for 4 weeks and the mildew smell is already present. I think it’s a design flaw personally. Anyways, doing these three things to prevent mold is a pain and I never had to do this with my old machine.

Hopefully, we don’t end up with black mold inside despite our vigilance.

The unit itself may appear to be desirable however, when the spin cycle is running the machine is very loud and unstable. If there is the slightest imbalance it is very disturbing, The material used to build the unit is thinner and cheaper than my Kenmore unit I bought twenty years ago.

If the part that wore out on that was still available I would have rather had that fixed and kept that machine. There is no SOAK choice on the washer dial. Instead there is a quick wash. That I do like.

I also like that the control panel is above the dryer and no lint can get in it like my old machine. The installation was also frustrating, the installers did not want to take my old unit even though I had confirmation for them to take, in addition the installers were not able to complete the installation since they are limited to make any necessary adjustments to the duct work to connect the dryer and I had to have a technician come out and do it.

The installers also did not connect the hoses properly and caused a leak. Initially, the free consult also did not do a proper evaluation and did not provide the measurements for me to order the unit.

Overall, would not recommend their services until improvements are made. I was left for four months without being able to use my appliance. The sales representatives were very good but it’s unfortunate that their support team (Geek Squad) and the initial consult could not do their job to completion.

Also, the payment process is not great either. You either pay by phone or by check in the store. I wanted to pay online but had multiple difficulty with the website. The products looks great but don’t be fooled.

The quality over the past two decades has been compromised while the price has escalated.

The washer does not work. It goes through the sense and fill cycle and then stops. I have tried some suggestions from the trouble shooting section of the manual, but to no avail. There seems to be a warranty issue.

I believe that the problem may be that the lid lock function is not working. Will I need to contact Whirlpool re this or is this something the geek squad could handle free of charge since I have a total tech membership?.

I purchased this a few months ago for a small older rental unit I was upgrading. It became obvious to me after a few showings the only negative was that it didn’t have a washer/dryer. something people expect these days.

I had just enough space in a closet to fit a system like this in. I carefully researched different manufacturer’s options but they were largely from companies whom I had formed a negative reputation over the years.

Whirlpool, however, has been a brand I’ve found to be excellent in quality and long lasting during my 30 years of experience. I saw this model advertised. it looked interesting plus was made by a company I have confidence in.

Reviewing its features I found it technologically advanced just as all my Whirlpool products have been. It’s also made of good sturdy materials. I had it installed and during the final 2 showings of my property each prospective renter were ready to fill out the paperwork! Had the home been on the market a just 2 more months I would have lost more in revenue than I spent on this attractive unit.

I absolutely luv this GE frontloading washer. It is quiet and easy to use. Our clothes come out so very clean, unlike my last washing machine which was top loading. I’ve had the washer less than a month and have washed everything except comforters, and it has done a fabulous job.

Washed several blankets together and it handled the load easily. You set the washer for what you are washing, like towels or mixed loads, and the time and temperature is built in. However they can be changed.

I like that you can set how dry you want the clothes to spin. Might take a little trial and error. My 1st load of jeans came out super wet. I had them to spin again but the next time I washed jeans, I set them for a different spin dry level and it worked.

I have not set up the WiFi and am not sure if I will. My washer is in the garage and I know ahead of time how long the clothes will wash as the machine tells me when I set it up to wash,. So its no big deal to me.

My only ‘con’ is that the drawer for the detergent and bleach stays moist. You open it up and it has water droplets everywhere and that bothers me as I am afraid of possible mold. I keep paper towels in the garage so once I have finished washing, I dry the drawer out as much as possible.

The drawer has water even after you have run the Ultrafresh Vent cycle which you should run after you have finished your washing, to help remove any excess water. The manufacturer says the drawer should be cleaned out once a month anyway, but I still worry about potential mold, especially with my washer being in the garage.

Please note that I haven’t seen any evidence of mold, just concerned about it. My family and friends probably think I am nuts because I have told everyone how much I love my new washing machine. I have wanted a front loader for a long time and I hope this is built to last for years to come.

This washer is by far the best washer I have ever used. My favorite feature is the Ultra Fresh Vent System. Being a front loader washer it has to be propped open after use in any other brand. GE washers have the Ultra Fresh that you can turn on after use and you will never get any orders.

The reason for the 4 stars has to do with the WiFi which really sucks on these washer dryer pairs. I have the pair next to my router so it’s not a connection issue. So either the app is that bad or the WiFi on the washer dryer combo is that bad, I lean toward that.

Machine runs super quiet and has a multitude of cycles and options for our lifestyle. The ultra vent feature is amazing. We wanted a model with the anti-mold option for the door gasket. Our old model had mold and smelled and was impossible to keep clean or rid of the mold.

The pedestals are taller than our previous machine and allow for more storage of items and taller detergent/softener containers. We have been very pleased with the variety of cycles, the quiet operation and we enjoy the WIFI connectivity flexibility.

4-2-16 The South Miami Brands Mart store was wonderful in exchanging this for a First Class LG Stackable Washer/Dryer Combo. Currently, The Manufacturers, ALL OF THEM, do not make a 27 x 27 unit(square unit with a full sized wash basin/tub)as they did in the OLDEN Days.

Our beloved Maytag Unit(23 Years Strong)could not be replaced by this style because it simply does not exist. After reviewing our options,at the store, the most excellent sales staff consulted with us to provide the solution we are very happy with.

Also, the LG Stackable cost was only slightly higher than the first purchase; which was our fault alone. We Presumed that we could buy something online = wrong. Thank you Brands Mart !.

We bought because we had the same model for twenty years and were very happy. Unfortunately, the new model was very much louder than the old, especially the washer. After having a tech come to listen to it, he said it sounded normal and that the manufacturer wasn’t using as much insulating material in an effort to keep the price down.

There are only 2 manufacturers that make a 24inch combo, GE being the other, and we required a dryer door hinged on the left, as that was the only way it would work in the laundry closet in our condo.

I had to buy this particular unit due to my condo building’s rules. I was a bit concerned about the 3 inch decrease in capacity. However, I have not had to change my load sizes. The washer’s cleaning prowess is impressive – does a great job removing ground in dirt.

The dryer is a little noisy, and I wish I could turn off the buzzer. It does a great job, though. I did have to put a piece of blue painter’s tape on the dial arrow, because it was hard to see.

I’m so happy I decided to buy this unit! I just purchased a home that has a very small kitchen and laundry room, so this unit sits perfectly beside a new shelf unit and everything has its place. Both the washing machine and dryer are quiet and get my clothes, sheets, and towels clean.

It’s very easy to move laundry from the washer to the dryer. The controls for each are easy to understand. I was not able to take advantage of the extra settings, because I don’t have reliable Wi-Fi in my home, but that’s fine; the standard settings are perfect for my usage anyway.

I do adjust the dryness level up one, as the “normal” setting leaves the clothes too damp for my liking. The whole unit installed quickly and easily, replacing a standard washer and dryer. I was worried about the hookups, but there were no issues at all.

The dryer hose does run out from behind the dryer into the old exhaust, but the shelves cover it up nicely. I recommend doing your homework and preparing the area for installation ahead of time, but the guys from Home Depot were very knowledgeable and efficient.

They had to remove the handles from my refrigerator to get the unit into the laundry room, but there were no issues and had it done in no time. Overall my whole experience with this unit has been awesome! I gave my daughter my old LG front load washer that is about 14 years old, and it is still going strong, so I expect nothing but years of great service from this one!.

Bottomline: A nice improvement over our top loading stand-alone units. When we relocated to a smaller home we purchased a ‘top tier’ set of laundry equipment. These were the typical configuration: stand-alone washer and drier.

Two and a half years in, these were proving to be problematic. The washer had required a service call, and the drier had developed a periodic annoying rattle. After a lot of research we decided to cut our losses and replace them with this LG laundry center.

We liked the smaller footprint as it would free up space in a small laundry room, and saw that having a front loading washer would offer some benefits: the existing washer was a top loader and the tub was very deep.

Removing wet laundry was challenging at times; better energy efficiency, reducing water usage, and better spin drying performance. Having now run about 15 loads through the LG laundry center we are happy to report that it has exceeded expectations.

It is easy to load and unload. Washed items are just damp after the spin cycle and dry quickly. We expect this to have a positive effect on water and energy usage. The controls are readily accessible, a very nice difference from other stacked units.

The best washer and dryer wash tower you can buy for the money. If you’re looking for a space saving, high quality, reliable, and aesthetically pleasing unit then this is the one. If you just want something to wash your clothes and don’t care about anything else, this can do that too! However, this unit is SOO powerful for its size.

Yes, it’s full size but it’s also moderately compact. We have done about a dozen loads and each load has been incredibly clean with no issues or quirks. There’s the “100” and “200” model (which is in the serial number), and we recommend the step-up.

Why? Not because it’s the most expensive but rather it has some pretty sweet features. For example, there’s a turbo wash that really makes washing small loads or quick loads enticing. I find myself doing quick loads more than full loads, which also saves water and money.

Secondly, the dryer has a steam feature that is absolutely incredible. I didn’t initially think it was worth it but if you need to freshen up some sheets, linens, light clothing, or anything before pre-ironing (or not) this feature will do you wonders.

I could continue but I think this unit speaks for itself. For the price and what you get, including the control panel being centralized between the washer and dryer, it can’t be beat.

I bought this item because I was trying to accomplish two things: save space in my laundry area with a stacking unit, and increase my wash/dry capacity (by volume). Unfortunately, this product is broken after less than a year, so I am back where I started.

Based on my experience, this configuration is not suited for anything but installation on a cement first floor or basement. First, the bad: the washer volume is 5. 0 cuft, but it is not capable of a very large load without destroying the bearings for the washtub.

The wifi will only allow one user at a time to be linked to the unit; the spin cycle (even when the unit has been perfectly leveled) is ridiculous for vibration. Figuring out how much detergent to use is like trying to adjust the vertical hold on your tv with a blindfold on, the dryer vent sensor is VERY finicky, the dryer moisture sensor is VERY sensitive and will constantly adjust the dryer time without notice, the unit is HEAVY and BIG, the wifi app is constantly a problem (freezes and gets hung up on a single page), it is so new, there are no parts available.

The good: there are a multitude of wash cycles on the app to choose from, the app will give you status of the washer and dryer cycles in real time, it is a HUGE energy and water saver over a regular washer dryer set, it looks nice, it is a stacking unit.

Bottom line, for this price point, I think this unit has a LONG LONG way to go to be ready for primetime. Unless you are going to use this on a concrete floor in a basement or on a first floor and you only have very small amounts of laundry to do, this unit is not for you.

I would keep shopping.

I am an interior designer and have specified this unit a number of times for my clients. When renovating my own laundry room I purchased the unit and asked the vendor to ensure both the washer and dryer units would hinge on the right as all other units we had previously purchased hinged on the left.

The specs I was sent say the doors are reversible and I was satisfied with that answer. When this unit was installed in my home last week both doors hinged on the left and only the dryer door is reversible.

What possible good could it do to have the washer and dryer doors going in opposite directions? I called the 800 number to see how to order a unit with right hinging doors and they said it was not offered.

Why the heck not? Not all laundry rooms are set up the same. When I called my vendor they said as the unit has been unboxed and installed a return or exchange would be difficult. I will address that with my vendor but LG needs to step it up and either make both doors reversible or create right and left handed models.

Now, the reason I have specified this unit before and ended up purchasing the unit for myself is because of the innovative design and intuitive functionality. It has some sleek good looks as well. Other review are not wrong about the lint build up on the inside of the dryer door but I was willing to overlook that due to its other attributes.

First of all, it took forever to get this in. I ordered the beginning of November and had paid for it and BB indicated it would be in by Dec 22nd. I could deal with that. Then when Dec 22 came around, no tower.

Called the company and they said they were setting deliveries for February now. I was not happy they didn’t contact me and they had my money already and were not going to compensate in any way. Wasted my day.

Customer service was poor. As for the washtower, it was very quiet for the first few loads. It has gained some noise with time, which is discouraging. The washer does a great job, but for what you put into the washer, the dryer cannot handle a good size load.

I think the extra room in the washer is better for getting clothes cleaner but don’t think you can make it a decent load unless you are going to split the load for the dryer. I don’t like that I do not have more ability to change the load settings for the most part on the machine itself.

You have only so many settings on the unit, then you have to use the app to find the load setting you want to use. I find it a pain to deal with. If my mother is in town helping out she can’t change the settings unless she gets the app and then once she is connected to my tower, she will know whenever I am doing laundry, since it notifies when a load is done.

there are a lot of things for the company to rethink when they update the model/software. I can say that I do enjoy the fact that I am notified when my loads are done since I have the volume turned off on the machines.

There were two settings for volume, off and on. On is very loud. My last LG had different levels which was wonderful. All in all, I can’t say I’m in love with this set. I only had to get it due to space issues in the house.

I would definitely say that the noise is drastically reduced in having the unit attached solidly as opposed to stacking separate machines which I had before. The load dry sensing needs improvement. I end up with damp clothes or just damp clothes on the very dry setting whenever I use low or medium low heat.

I have to run it on a timed setting to ensure it is dry after the sensing load. I really don’t want to shrink my clothes so I have always used lower heat settings. Would I buy this set again? Not unless a lot of improvements are made.

It’s a little concerning when the instructions for the installation check for the dryer don’t work. Even the “alternate instructions” on the website, and the THIRD alternate instructions on the phone don’t work.

At least with the types with dials and push buttons there’s a bit more. well I don’t want to say reliability, but – clearly something is not working the way it’s meant to with this device. Otherwise, I needed new equipment and had a small space to work with plus I’m short, so regular stacking washer/dryers were an option but this has the controls in the middle so.

Black Friday pricing was in my favor and it does seem to work well where I put it. We did have a problem with attaching hoses – if you’re using the kind with 90 degree elbows so you can push it further back, I guess the “collar” is too shallow and it leaks.

The standard rubber hoses fit, but I wish they actually had high efficiency burstproof 90 degree hoses that would work with this, for peace of mind and ability to nudge the tower back further in a shallow space.

I’ve run a few loads so far. I’m 50/50 on this – it doesn’t really save a lot of time compared to my old equipment, but the energy savings should be good, and it’s a larger capacity (which I didn’t strictly need but it’s a nice bonus).

The manual really leaves it up to the detergent manufacturers to tell you how much liquid to add, although there is a “max line” in the tray itself. The detergent bottle I had (Purex) doesn’t really have clear lines so I’m kind of having to tinker a little.

Just be aware of that when you’re picking HE detergent to go with it. I have not tried the ThinQ app, partially because it’s difficult to pair.

Went and picked this up from the store. Guys that helped me load it weren’t quite strong enough to lift it in. I would like to reiterate this thing all boxed up is HEAVY. Once I got it home me and my fiance were able to handle it decently once unboxxed.

Washer and dryer are very quiet and I’m impressed with how efficient they seem to be. Dryer has no issue drying a large load of mixed clothing in 40-45 minutes. A note of caution, there is a big piece of styrofoam that goes up into the washer/dryer unit to support the washer drum.

If you are struggling to get this off the styrofoam base, it seems it’s very easy to have this snap off and stay up in the washer. I did exaclty this, and the first time I ran it the washer was shaking bad and making a peculiar squeaking noise.

Tilted it up and sure enough a piece of styrofoam was still in there, squeaking like crazy. I’m hoping this continues to treat me well in the coming years, but the first few weeks have been a great experience.

One other note, if your dryer plug in is any distance away from the dryer, you may want to spring for a 10 foot dryer cord, as the 6 foot doesn’t make it much further than down the back of the unit. Hunting down a 10 foot cord was a task in my town, so I ended up building my own new cable.

Dryer does work with both 3 and 4 prong outlets, but is initally set up for 3 prong, which worked perfect for me.

It’s quiet and it handles a lot of clothes, but I still can’t get any hot water out of it even though the machine was replaced. They attempted to deliver five times and it took three weeks to get my second machine.

It says it does everything but you have to choose options that limit you and you have to try to work around them. It takes forever to do laundry. One can experiment but it took me 5 1/2 hours to do two loads.

That seems quite excessive. You have to babysit the machine because it needs to go on a special cycle every month with special detergent otherwise I was told your clothes will come out black or green.

You have to wipe out the machine and the door seal which is deep every single time. The manual I was given I was told was not the current one even though I just bought it and that I should ignore a number of maintenance requirements and only do certain ones that are different than what’s in the book.

I don’t know that they’ll post this because everywhere I look at gets a 4. 7 and I can’t imagine how I would prefer my 20 year old machines where I had control and could have a rinse cycle or could easily drain the water out of the tub if it became necessary.

Good luck. I chose this because I have a narrow space and they were only two options. All the people at Best Buy have been very nice and I’ve tried to help.

The first Maytag washing machine which Best Buy delivered had a cup of water in the tub when they left, and it never did drain properly. Two weeks later they delivered a replacement. The replacement washer seems fine.

I have had Maytag washing machines for 50 years, and they seem to get progressively worse. Next time I will consider another brand. The good things: The washer is quiet, & the Lock is optional. The bad things: It doesn’t spin out water as well as my last 3 Maytag washers, the end of cycle signal is so low, you can barely hear it if you’re standing right in front of it.

The door & rubber seal are covered with water at the end of each wash and have to be dried to keep the water from dripping in the floor. The Quick Wash cycle is only 23 minutes long– 8 minutes shorter than my last Maytag washer.

The drawer where the detergent/bleach/fabric softener goes is extra small and barely pulls out far enough to add your liquids. The Whites cycle takes well over 2 hours to wash. Those are my first impressions.

I bought this and the accompanying dryer as a package. Nice design, decent on noise. So far I’ve had it for about a month and it is a significant upgrade from my last front load washer. The smell is very fresh and clean and it’s a large capacity washer which is great.

It’s also eco-friendly which is something I was looking for. The only issue I’ve had so far is that sometimes it seems like a standard drain and spin cycle isn’t included in the regular wash cycle so the clothes are much wetter than I’m used to and I have to run that cycle separately to get the additional water out that sometimes ends up in the bin.

I intend on checking the manual to see if I can make that part automatic and reduce having to run it separately.

It’s been almost a couple years since we purchased this washer machine. It was also our first maytag appliance we’d ever purchased and we were excited to give it a try. Well, we will never purchase anything Maytag ever again.

The first time we used the machine it kept giving an error message with a spinning cycle and that went on for a while and all of a sudden that problem goes away and it starts leaking water. In the manual it says if the machine is overloaded or has too much soap it could leak.

So I always made sure not to do that and the machine would leak randomly like 3 out of 5 times I wash. I finally called the customer service a few weeks ago to have somebody out or to get a solution but nobody answered.

It didn’t tell me how long the wait was or how many people were in front of me but rather it just rang rang and rang and I finally gave up. It’s been a headache to deal with this machine and I don’t know what to do with it since Maytag doesn’t even want to answer their phone and I don’t want to purchase a new machine when we only bought it a couple years ago.

this machine is also very loud that I never owned anything louder than this. The touch buttons are so sensitive we always have to lock and unlock all the time. very disappointed in Maytag.

Mostly good. However, had a few times error code pops up (looks like it’s DR. which sorta makes sense) and washer won’t start until door is opened and firmly closed again. Provided documentation doesn’t list error codes.

Product website also doesn’t have this info. Perhaps is the door sensor. Will see if need to use warranty fix. Wash cycles are also much longer than in prior model (which we had for just over 16 years).

Hope this replacement is as durable. I would recommend this to a friend.
