20 Best Adjustable Bed For Back Pain (2022 Updated)

This is my second Lucid adjustable bed, and as the previous one did, it is tearing up in less than 2 years. As an elderly disabled woman it wasn’t easy to set up but I managed. For the first 18 months, it was fabulous.

Then it started leaning to one side. If this one does as my previous one did, the arm will break within 6 months. The company will not do anything until after it completely breaks. Unfortunately, medical conditions dictate I not be without one.

So once again I will have to do without needed items to save for a replacement.

I like it very much. It’s quiet, has a good range of adjustability. I specifically did not want a wireless remote to have to keep track of. My remote is conveniently attached from under the bed with an ample length springy cord.

The bed was easy to assemble and the electrical parts are an obvious plug and play design. 1 strong person can do this alone. 2 people required if you are going upstairs. The frame does not have holes drilled for attaching headboard/footboard hardware.

I have been researching adjustable bases at various furniture and bedding stores for about a year. This base came across a Walmart advertisement on my social media page. We’ve only had it for 3 days but it works like it should.

The height is just right. I like the additional features on the base such as the plug-ins to charge your phone as well as the flashlight on the remote. These features were on a mattress company’s base I reasearched that cost way more.

The price for this base was great which made it very affordable. I also purchased (separately) the L300 headboard brackets so that I can attach a headboard to this base at a later date. Now, I do have to agree with the below review about the set up.

The video shown makes the box look fairly light when the couple took it up the stairs. This box was NOT light. Once upstairs we installed the legs and cord of the base with ease but to pick the base up and over the platform bed took the two of us.

You definitely need 2 strong people to get the box up the stairs and flip the bed to its upright position. Overall, I would definitely recommend this adjustable base.

Okay so my review title might be a little dramatic but this bed frame has been a large piece in the role of changing my sleep, health, life, etc. This powered base is better than my previous and also replaces the box spring.

Its easy to assemble, easy to use, adjustable, and comfortable. I absolutely love this base and can not believe how much better I sleep just by changing the base. Shipping-it is huge and heavy. Itll take 2 people or a furniture dolly to move.

Its well packaged and shipped nicely. Overall very impressed with this base and zero complaints so bar. A big improvement over my sleep number base.

I really love my Selene Adjustable Bed! It was very easy to assemble. I love that it comes with a wireless remote. The three leg heights are wonderful for me when my legs are swollen and I need to elevate them.

The bed is so much more comfortable than any I have ever owned with all of the wonderful features. I can adjust it to comfortably watch television, or for reading. It’s a very beautiful and well made bed.

IF a you don’t like the mattress, it is not returnable, I found out in the hard way. I talking about a very so very hard mattress bliss series 14 plush they call it. I will count my loss, they will not help me.

The 30 days trial is a lie, they want you to try the place where the mattress sit on, what weir is that not the mattress, in another way, they can help you if you paid more for another mattress for your convenience, and go on and on with mattresses until you make them rich, bc they will never accept you mattress back, my best advice go in a place where you can lay and try the mattress, Do not buy it online, specially in this place, maybe it is other web sites with good customer service that you can try.

I got my sven and son bed and frame a couple years ago now. I went with the split king platinum with all the bells as whistles. To this day I tell everyone that it was one of the best purchases I have ever made.

I did extensive research like alot of people. I went to every show room in my area. I even asked the people at the showroom if they had anything comparable for the money they just looked at me and said they can never sell something for that price.

So I decided to try and let me tell you it is quality I mean top of the line bed and frame. And the customer service is real USA customer service. I accidentally broke my remotes I called them up. And they switched to a new system so they were having trouble going back far enough to look up my order.

She said screw it took my address brand new remotes at my house asap. I mean truly great customer service and they really listen and know what they are talking about.

King bed size frame with all the bells. This frame is very well made, very heavy (200+ lbs) so carrying it upstairs must be done by 2 people, once the bed is taken apart by removing 2 bot nuts (#13 nut size).

Also note how QUIET the motor is when lifting. Have heard other brands and this is the quietest by far. Has 2 USB chargers on each side if bed (so 4 total), bed light under bed, remote control with many functions, 3 massage settings for upper and foot.

It has 7 METAL legs that screw into frame nut (3 head, 2 middle, 2 at feet) adjustable in 2 sizes. (so no plastic legs that break). Delivered on time by ABF trailer in front of garage, large heavy box unloaded by pros with pallet jacks.

You will love it. and it’s affordable.

LOVE THIS!!! I get a lot of leg aches, and it helps me a ton to be able to raise the foot of my bed to elevate my legs. We have a king size Purple brand mattress on it. I worried it would be too heavy, but it works perfect.

One word of caution. When the bed is laid flat, there is no motion transfer (which is one of the reasons I got a Purple mattress). When I raise any part of the bed, you feel every movement. I still love this and only wish I had gotten it sooner.

Great price. Easy to install. Works well. Really tall legs (as tall as my previous bed risers) so you can store things underneath it. The cord is a little short but it’s not too bad. Would definitely recommend!.

In early 2020 I bought the Lucid Advanced Power Adjustable Bed Base, King size (had to buy 2 Twin XL bases). I also bought the Lucid EVO 11” Gel Memory Foam and Innerspring Hybrid mattress Twin XL (quantity 2).

And since my husband and I like a soft bed I also bought two Twin XL 3” memory foam mattress toppers (had to buy from Sam’s Club). The delivery was fast and very simple to set up the bed base. It took more time getting it out of the large shipping box than it did to setup the bed base.

After using this bed for 2 years, we are still very happy with our purchase. We have had 0 (zero) problems with the adjustable bed. Everything continues to work exactly as expected since the day I bought it.

It was the absolute best bed purchased I’ve ever made in all my 58 years. I read a review someone wrote about worrying about the underside of the bed with cables and motor “exposed” and they thought their pet might chew on the cables.

I have 6 rescue cats (ages 3-14 years old). They like laying under the bed (nice height floor to frame) and they have never bothered with any of the underside. Even when we raise and lower the bed they ignore the sound of the motor (low noise) and the movement of the base.

When we have severe storms in the area they all congregate under the bed! LOL. In 2021 I bought a third Twin XL base and mattress for our spare bedroom. It also has performed perfect since the day I bought that one.

I do have one issue and that’s with the mattresses. Don’t expect this type of mattress to last for years because if you are a heavy person then the mattress will eventually lose its “sturdiness”. They are holding up okay for now, but I do notice a difference now and know I will eventually have to replace them.

But as for the bed base, I still give it 5 Stars after 2 years of use.

I can’t speak to durability yet as this adjustable bed is brand new, but I love this bed. A few weeks before I purchased the bed I trashed the rotator cuff on both shoulders and reignited an old neck injury.

Sleeping flat was not working for me. The zero gravity position on this bed has its own preset button and that position is divine. It really does feel like the pressure is taken off body parts. I” use it most of the time.

There are other wonderful features as well. This is a great remote. It is well lit by pressing any button so you can see in the dark. It is very easy to use with great preset. There are presets for massage of both the head end and feet end of the bed and it has several variations on the pulse of the massage.

Sometimes 10 minutes of massage helps put me to sleep. The two USB ports on each side are very convenient for charging your devices. I purchased a 5 pocket bedside caddy that holds a water bottle, several remotes or eyeglasses, and a tablet.

The tablet can be recharged right beside the USB port. There are some LED lights that can be turned on to help you see to get out of bed. Mine go off on their own in about 10 minutes. Honestly, I believe this would have to rank right up there aong the best purchases ever in my long life.

My opinion is not purchased or swayed by anyone. If there have been promotions concerning this bed other than it being well priced for Black Friday I know nothing about it. I paid for my bed. I believe this is the same Lucid bed that is offered elsewhere as being part of the Lucid Comfort Collection.

It appears to have identical features.

It is amazing. I love it. This is the second set I purchased. First set is in my main residence. This set is in my guest cottage in another state. Both sets are great, but I like this set even more than the first set I purchased.

Wonderful! Great price, and very comfortable. I was afraid of setting it up, but it was as easy as plugging it in and screwing on the legs! Hardest part was getting the heavy box into the bedroom. Quite motor.

My son is disabled and having the adjustable bed is something that is really helpful for him. The construction is really good for the price, I’ve seen other for much more that aren’t this good. Putting it together was really easy, I did it by myself with my sons help.

Had the installation instructions (owner’s manual) and order information for head/footboard brackets been available online prior to delivery, you would have received 5 stars. Having that information earlier would have made the whole process much easier and possibly able to have been done all at once.

The installer tried every which way to make the base work with my existing head/footboard and rails, but in the end because of a spacing issue they had to be removed. The base is assembled and working, but as brackets had to be ordered, the headboard/footboard are still waiting to be reattached.

That said, the bed itself is awesome. Changing positions is very quiet and very easy with wireless remote, which backlit on a keypress and easy to operate in the dark. The massage feature is awesome, too, with variable intensity and a timer.

With the “both” key and high intensity, it feels more like a full body rather than just a head and foot massage. While the USB ports are a nice feature, having 2 at the head and 2 at the foot made me scratch my head.

What USB devices would you have connected at the foot, and who has long enough cords? With the split king (two XL twins), too, only half the 8 ports are available as one set of ports winds up on the inside.

The pillow tilt feature is pretty useful for watching TV. The best thing, though, is that as a side sleeper with back and shoulder pain, the zero gravity position has really taken the strain off both and is a welcome upgrade from sleeping badly in a recliner.

My existing hybrid king 12-inch mattress was so firm, it took a 3-inch memory foam and 2-inch feather bed type topper to make it comfortable. By then, the bed was so high I had to climb in and out. It had also developed saggy spots and It was resting on 35-year-old twin box springs rather than a platform.

Once this adjustable bed was assembled, the memory foam topper tended to slide with motion, so I removed it and with the bed in the zero gravity position, the old mattress felt fine — no pressure points at all! My sleep has improved with lessening of the back pain and spasm.

Now that I’ve learned to sleep on my back and can do so without pain, maybe the shoulder pain will improve as well. In any case, it seemed like a lot to spend on a bed base — weighed against the cost of possible surgery, not so much, and money well spent.

I would recommend this to anyone with back issues.

This is an excellent bedframe! Assembly was quick and easy, although you’ll need a second pair of hands to help you out. It fit inside my previous bedframe/headboard, which was a relief. The remotes work very well, and the whole setup was very easy to get going.

This is essentially a package of two twin XL bedframes, which hook together to make a Kkng sized bed. You’ll need two sets of twin XL sheets, or you can purchase a “split king” set, which includes two twin XL fitted sheets, and a single king top sheet.

This depends on whether you want to share a sheet with your bedmate. The king topsheet option makes the bed easier to make, but your partner can disturb you by moving the top sheet in their sleep, hogging the sheets, etc.

I appreciate the massage function, which is why I bought the “premier” model. I have to say, I do not understand the benefit of the pillow tilt bit. As you see in the product photo, the top 5 or 6 inches of the head of the bedframe can be angled up.

This is adjusted electronically, like the rest of the bed, and operated through the remote. I have no idea why anyone would want this angled up, or why this feature exists. The area that tilts is not big enough for your head to comfortably fit on, and even if it was, I don’t understand the appeal.

Fortunately, you can simply not use it, but it seems like an odd thing to include. Although the instructions do not mention it, there is an app available for Android phones (and maybe iPhone, I’m unsure) that will allow you to control the bed from your phone.

This is a nice option, in case you lose or break the remote, or simply want to put it away for less clutter. The app is ABSOLUTELY AWFUL, one star. If you can navigate the broken English, the complete lack of instructions, and the unintuitive and god-awful interface, you can get the app to control HALF of the bed at a time.

Normally, your partner would control the other half from their phone. In the instance that you need to adjust their side of the bed (e. g. : they are asleep and snoring), you need to go through the whole puzzling setup process again, and then a second time to restore control to your side of the bed.

It looks like a non-English speaking person who was new to programming spent all of 20 minutes creating this app, and never looked back. Still, the option is there, which beats not having it available at all.

Ill be honest, we didn’t expect a lot seeing you can easily pay over 2x the price for these. Now ill be honest, its our first adjustable bed. So that initial shock is there. I told my wife “i think your gonna like this WAY more than i will” (she initially said she didnt think she would like one) She typically will watch a little tv before bed.

She LOVES this thing! She says “i cant wait to get home and get in bed!” So funny. I read all the reviews (yes im one of those). The foot elevation probably could be a little higher i agree, but what i discovered is that if it were higher, it would bend you a bit too much.

Also, if you raise the top too much you realize you need to lower the feet a bit or you end up getting a bit uncomfortable from “being bent too much”. I thought the “head tilt” was a gimmick when i first saw how little it moved.

But it actually does work. If you raise the back to where your not too upright, it brings your head to a perfect tv watching position! Wow! Ok so we first used it in “sync mode” with our 12″ thick 20 year old inner spring mattress.

It worked, but it was not ideal. When you got up with it adjusted, the mattress would “lift” on that side. Not a deal breaker but weird. Well we opted for a gols organic latex mattress because this nonsense chemical crap they add to mattresses.

It is insanity! Why would you want to spend 8 hours a day just a sheet layer away from toxic chemicals? Why is everything so backwards and stupid? New mattress is 9″ thick and so far we are finding it to be very nice.

but we need more nights to be fair. Had to add frame risers to get height correct but I must say. we get very comfortable adjusting and watching a vit of TV in this combo. The latex adjusts perfectly unlike the inner spring.

However a new individule wrapped inner spring appers to be compatable with these. The sync worked great. We now have split with two dual twin xl’s sp we unsynced and they work great. Unknown Tid bit: at night, press the “flat” botton once to back light the remote then again to go flat.

Nice! The phone app works although its very cheesy looking. I did it on android. We added a switching extension cord and mounted rhe switch midpoint on headboard just below mattress out of sight. Having a Bluetooth received just under your mattress is probably not a good thing to sleep on every night for 8 hours.

After we go flat for the night, we flip the switch to kill the power. Overall, we really like it! Hope it holds up!.

About 15 months ago, I found that sleeping flat caused pain in my back. I tried an adjustable frame that didn’t work well, tried numerous pillow types, none of which helped the situation. I slept on my recliner.

This was not a good solution so I searched for an adjustable frame that would replicate the angle at which the recliner rested. I found that the IDeal Bed 3i could be raised to the same angle at which the recliner was comfortable.

Since receiving the frame, I have slept better (and in bed) that I have for the past 15 months. It can be set at a comfortable sitting position and with the foot being able to be raised, I do not slip out of the sitting position at which my back does not hurt upon getting up.

Ok I have a torn disk in my lower back and deal with the pain every day. I haven’t had a good night sleep in several years until I got this bed frame. The way I can raise the feet and the head takes all the pressure and pain away for me.

The first night I slept a solid 8hrs that hasn’t happened in a long time. Thank you for this bed frame and it being half if not more than half the price as the other beds I thank you even more. It is very quiet and easy to set up.

Just open the box unfold then put on the legs. Truly awesome.

This product is much better than described, be ready to have your expectations just crushed. The engineering and construction on this adjustable bed is just amazing. There is no assembly needed, I just removed the box, the base is then unfolded, put on the legs then flip it over.

The base’s construction is very solid made of some type of steel and titanium mixture as it was light but more sturdy than regular metal. The motors operate so quiet and smooth that you cant even tell your operating them until you move.

The zero gravity preset button is a really nice feature, it’s really nice to just lay back and relax in that position. The memory buttons are really convenient. This adjustable works great with the mattress I purchased with it.

If youre looking for an adjustable that has the essentials and more without massage and other bells and whistles, this is definitely the best choise. Trust me, this is my third adjustable bed purchase and I’ve researched them for years.

I have ME/CFS and have never slept more than 2-3 hr. consistently for over 25 yrs. I have been using my bed for 18 nights and most days in pain. On day 10 I slept 7 hrs without waking and the next 5 hrs.

This past week wake once but do not have to get up out of bed. Just an adjustment and able to go back to sleep. Like in title the bed and a new mattress is Life Changing. I am in several CFS groups and have told them all about this bed.

I researched the top adjustable beds and they are so expensive and you get a stripped-down version. This one has all the bells and whistles and I am beyond pleased.

This is a split king so it came as 2 sections. One of the sections was perfect. The other section was put together by someone who did not care. There we bolts laying in the box and I had to use the 1 good one in order to assemble the bad one.

ALL the hardware on the bad one seems like it was just put together temporary but nobody had finalized the assembly I know that there is going to be a Would you recommend this product to a friend. Well the real question is what ones are my friend going to get? If it is 2 good full assembled ones, YES – but a half and half deal like I got or worse than No.

I’ve had this adjustable base going on 3 weeks now. I wanted a little time to try it out before writing a review. Rest and a good nights sleep is something you cannot put a price on. I haven’t slept this good in YEARS.

I am a side sleeper and tend to sleep lying on my stomach. I can sleep in any position comfortably on this adjustable base. Also, nearly every morning I was waking up with headaches and puffy eyes due to allergy and sinus issues.

I no longer have that issue. Bonus, it has a lifetime warranty. The massage feature helps put me to sleep. Plus, I love that the remote has a built in flashlight and/or you could turn the light on under the bed.

I ordered a Puffy double bed in March of 21. Now a little over a year later time to tell the truth. AWESOME!!!!!! I read review after review after review trying to decide if this was the bed I wanted.

So many adjustable beds are sooooooo expensive. Sooooo I finally took the plunge and got a Puffy adjustable bed. It has been a monumental life saver. Besides being an adjustable bed the massagers are very nice.

If I would change anything in that catagory I would make the motors quieter when in the high speed. This Past January I came down with Covid and ended up in the hospital for 33 days and rehab for 14.

I truely believe that if it hadn’t been for this bed being able to adjust to lift my head up I might have died before ever getting a chance to get to the hospital. Having my head up because I couldn’t breath is what gave me time for the ambulance to get here and take me to the hospital.

After so long in the hospital I could not wait to get home into my Puffy bed. It was like heaven. ( without actually having to go there yet) All I can say is THANK YOU!!!! besides the doctors and nurses I think you also had a hand in saving my life.

Overall I’m pleased with the bed, however I wished I had chosen the full rails and not the half rails. The half rails dont adjust, they are fixed. I had to take them off because they got in the way. I may try to send them back and get the full rails.

There isn’t really a good place to hang the remote control. It has an L shaped hook that is attached but it won’t really stay on the round railing. I bought some hook & loop material (velcro) and have attached it to the railing.

I upgraded to the therapeutic mattress and my husband says it’s comfortable.

Bed works well. The instructions were very confusing. Pictures didn’t match. Parts were missing. Need to update these instructions with pictures showing all parts. Watch the video over 20 times and not once did it say the motor connection that attached to the bed needed the insert moved so the head and foot could be activated.

If you just snap it in and not check to see if the inside levers are not moved out of the way the connection is not made. Once everything was figured out it is a nice bed that I hope will last for many years.

Bought this bed for my husband as he recently broke his hip as is non-weight bearing on that leg. It’s been a lifesaver and a back saver. Full electric allows me to just lower or raise the entire bed to facilitate transfers.

The queen is 100 pounds so be prepared to deal with a large clumsy unit to assemble. It’s best to have two people put it together however I did it myself at 80. To ease in sliding the bed in the future for cleaning etc, I installed sliders under each leg.

The base height is adjustable with 3 inch long sections for each leg that screw into each other to lengthen or shorten the legs. No head-board hardware is included and is an expensive add on. The assembly is a little confusing because the pictures are very small for the area where motor linkage is installed to the frame but color coded dots help sort that out.

The reason for two people to assemble the base is to keep from damaging the frame where the legs screw into it. To get around that I installed the legs on one side only, then flipped the frame over to rest on a foot stool high enough to then screw the remaining legs into the frame.

The queen will fit in a medium sized SUV like our 2019 Mazda CX5 at an angle with rear seats down and passenger seat forward enough to fit the box, rear hatch will close. I would buy this base again.

I purchased this for my mom who is 78 years old. After a recent stay at the hospital from Covid and a couple of nasty falls related to it. She need a different bed. So I wanted to get her an adjustable bed base.

I found this one here. My mom loves it!! She doesn’t have to worry about things under her bed now. She is able to use the remote and lift the base with the mattress and put things under the bed for extra storage.

She is able to adjust the head and the foot to positions that make her more comfortable to sleep. If there were to be a Emergency Situation the EMS could actually raise her mattress up to be even with their stretcher making it much less strenuous on themselves as well as my mother.

But I think it’s worth the investment. The Adjustable base will sit down right inside your bed frame and no more box springs. It’s worth the investment.

I have never had an adjustable base but always wanted one for reading. I fractured my shoulder so it was time to get one as I could not lay flat in bed. I opted for this « cheaper version » that was on sale for $325 (Serta).

I have zero complaints! This thing is great!! I bought the cheaper version thinking if I didn’t like it I would sell it after my shoulder healed. Now I realize what a bargain I found! It is so comfy.

It’s very quiet and glides very smoothly, up and down. Definitely worth the money.

We’re very happy with Basic 200 adjustable frame. It operates quietly and smoothly and makes watching TV from the bed more comfortable. The mattress does have a tendency to shift a little. This could be prevented if there were somewhat raised corners at the foot of the base.

The lift mechanism does not extend much below the frame of the base and, therefore, maximizes the amount of storage space available under the base. A set of three-part legs is available if you want the height of the bed to be somewhat lower.

This adjustable bed mechanism was too high with the new mattress–we had to jump up to get on the bed. Even though we can order shorter legs and install, then we will not be able to use the mattress and mechanism for our current bed frame.

And, after spending over $4000. 00 for the frame, mattress, and pillow–we have to pay extra for the shorter legs.
