20 Best Adhesive For Rubber To Metal (2022 Updated)

This flexible adhesive is useful for almost any job around the house. It stays flexible for years. I always keep a tube around.

works great! I use it for jewelry, crafts & heavy objects. So far so issues, but do recommend checking your crafts stores for it. Must cheaper I learned, bought on amazon small bottles. Then bought on her thinking for the big one was a great deal.

Then later on learned that it was half the price in my local craft store. O well, still a great product to use over hot glue gun n super glue!.

I use 3M Super Weatherstrip Adhesive in many ways. Sticking gaskets in place when assembling an engine, Attaching magnets to the back of a note-pad to put a shopping list on my refrigerator. Sometimes I put a little Super Weatherstrip Adhesive on a screwdriver tip, to keep a screw on it while I start the screw in a hard to get place.

I even use it to make improvised books of computer motherboard manuals when I’m building a new computer. ( I print the pdf, then stack all the pages neatly and put a little weight on them, then evenly apply Super Weatherstrip Adhesive to the left edge of the stack of pages, to act as a binding.

) Note: I hang the edge of the “book” that I’m gluing, over the edge of a counter so the glue doesn’t get on the counter-top.

Amazing stuff: Bought this adhesive to attempt to repair a damaged window seal (small split in two places and a very small hole). With some care and preparation (cleaning & roughening the edges), the product worked wonderfully.

As it’s a similar material to the seal, I’ve been able to carefully rub it back with 800 grit emery paper, for a smooth finish. Wonderful stuff. The only negative is I wish you could buy a smaller tube but for 20, it’s far less than the cost of replacing the seal – which in this instance would mean stripping the door!!.

We had to switch to PR100 when Loctite discontinued the adhesive we were using to bond E-Laminates together for use in electromagnetic device. It performs wells but does require 24 hour cure before handling and processing.

Recently, we had issues with the adhesive not performing. We had to throw out a half pound. Discovered the PR100 is good for 30 days or less once opened to air when stored between 60 to 80 F with Humidity below 10%.

During the evening and weekends, plant temperatures are above 80 F during warmer months. The warmer months is also the rainy season and Humidity can reach 45% or more. We are switching to the 1 ounce (20g) bottles to prevent the “spoilage” of the PR100.

We also discovered that production was pouring adhesive into smaller bottles because the 1lb bottle was too difficult to work with. Switching to the 1 ounce (20g) bottles, eliminates purchasing and warehousing small bottles and the labor to fill the bottles.

We already store our adhesive under refrigeration and would strongly recommend it if you are buying this product in bulk.

The seams on my convertible (2001 Corvette) were opening up. This was very obvious when standing near the doors and looking at the roof. When they make these tops after they sew the pieces together they fold the inside material over and glue it to the inside.

I had clean out the old dried up adhesive first. Then I worked out a “deep throat” clamping solution. Once I had that conceptualized I masked off the surrounding areas and used an applicator stick to get the RT5000B in the seam fold gap.

I then clamped the seam over the entire length of the repair and left it for 24 hours. This was over a year ago, and it is an excellent repair. I had also considered the 3M Marine 5200 (fast cure) product.

But the black color of RT5000B, and other factors made me go in that direction. BTW – I keep the unused product in the refrigerator to extend shelf life. It has MANY, MANY other uses. We have also used it on leather, metal, and some plastics with very satisfactory results.

I am always skeptical about adhesives for plastics because they often under deliver. Not this one. This glue works best when bonded items are allowed 24 hours to cure. Good clean contact is key as well.

The most impressive repair job was of a seat belt buckle which is subjected to all kinds of usage afterwards.

I dunno. It’s glue. It makes stuff stick together satisfactorily. Don’t sniff it, because you might glue your nostrils together. Last week, I used it to glue a torn toenail back into place, so if you like to do household chores barefoot and you’re a klutz, this is the glue for you.

Related to that, it withstands nail polish remover, so you can redo your toenails weekly with a new pretty color and pretend that you don’t try to demolish your nails with various household objects.

I should have listened to the poor reviews on this product. DOES NOT STICK. Useless. I even used a dremel to roughen both surfaces, and it still didn’t stick. Wait time was long enough, too. Don’t buy this.

Bought in-store. Works perfectly, and much better than Gorilla Glue. For one, Gorilla expands when dried, which leaves an ugly residue, and two, bond isn’t instantaneous; with Crazy, you need only to apply pressure for less than 30 seconds, and you have a bond that’s as advertised.

A must for hobbyist who put together models.

I’ve had success with Flex Tape products in the past, but hadn’t tried their glue formula until recently. What took me so long? There’s so much to love. Application is easy, using a caulk applicator.

I was impressed with the viscosity of this glue. It stays put, and doesn’t drip or run. It helped me repair one of the original windows to my home, dating back to 1950, which had a broken glass pane.

I was able to set it in place in the garage (always be aware of off-gassing in adhesive products and use in a well-ventilated area), and within a few minutes, it was firmly in place. It’s recommended to work quickly, as it won’t move much, if at all, 10 minutes after application.

Still, I let it sit for a week to fully cure, and installed it into the home. It’s crystal-clear and doesn’t impede my view. I have peace of mind knowing it will not budge in the ice-cold Upstate winters, where we get the occasional -20°F wind chill a few times a season, as it is rated for temperatures as low as -40°F.

All in all, it’s a phenomenal product. I’d recommend it to anyone who needs a permanent bond in their projects and doesn’t want unsightly visible glue marring appearances.

This is a good product for miscellaneous construction projects or repair jobs. I used this in a few applications and while it works very well compared to others on the market there are some that are better depending on what you are using this for.

while the info commercial shows the instant gripping a brick to another brick that is not entirely accurate. They use excessive amounts and also don’t hold it up for very long. The instructions clearly state you need to apply pressure for about 30 seconds.

It will hold decent if you hold for 30 seconds or longer or in some cases temporary bracing. I used this to glue wood to the wall for making shelves and if you do not hold for 30 plus seconds it will sag of fall off.

I also used outside to fix a veneer stone that was falling off outdoors and it works very well. Overall its a pretty good product and fairly pleased in the application I used it for. If you base it solely of the commercial it may not live up to your full expectation but it is darn close.

So far this is the only thing that Ive found to be acceptable for glueing RubberCal X-Derm rubber sheet to aluminum. 3M 77 spray hasnt worked too well and came loose. The X-Derm is made of recycled tires.

I think this is called SBR rubber and nothing seems to stick to it very well but the 3M 1300 works fairly well, following the directions and allowing plenty of time for drying (24+ hours) with firm pressure.

I used this product to install new rubber tires on a woodworking bandsaw. This is the second time I have done this procedure on this saw. The first set of tires I replaced lasted 18 years of daily use in a cabinet shop.

The tire supplier recommended an epoxy for the larger sized tires that I installed. (30″) So I ordered the epoxy from them along with the tires. The epoxy lasted about a week before letting one of the tires come off.

I ordered this glue to replace the epoxy because I know that I can count on it to do the job.

The weather stripping of my car came loose and proved impossible to find at a reasonable price without buying another weather stripping. This stuff did a terrific job securing the rubber weather stripping to the metal inside my car door.

It has made it through heat and cold, and saved me quite a bit of money and hassle. Just be deliberate with it, because it’s going to stick to whatever it touches.

That glue held. It’s just too bad the plastic broke again in a different place than I had glued…lol

Ive used this product successfully on a variety or products. More specifically on small repairs inside of the car. It worked great on correcting some drooping headliner areas. I also used it to replace the center console vinyl wrap.

The cement went on easily and did not wrinkle. It does set quickly so you have to work fast. The bottle size and applicator was easy to use and open but it can make a slight mess if not careful. My daughter removed the peanut from its shell and glued the peanut shell back together to play a trick on her brother.

The glue worked perfectly on the peanut shell. Im certain I’ll have many more uses for this in the near future.

We love using Gorilla Rubber Cement for our photo collages and our school projects. This is easy for the kids to use and if they make a mistake, this can easily be peeled off or removed. I really like that this is non-yellowing and doesn’t bleed through photos and dries crystal clear.

When closed, it seals airtight so it doesn’t dry out and can be used until it is gone. The brush makes it so easy to apply and is non-wrinkling. We always have a couple of jars handy for projects. Great product!!.

The glue works well for getting pictures to stick, but it doesn’t dry very quickly and can get messy. If you over apply it, you have a mess. That’s easy to do with the brush applicator. Since the brush is attached to the lid, you got a lot of the glue on there and you really have nothing to scrape it off onto except for the edge of the bottle.

if you scrape it there, then you’re going to have a mess where are you screw on the lid. So things are going to get messy with this. It works, but it just takes a long time to dry and can get messy.

I tried this on a plastic washing basket and on a handle. Tried 3 times and even clamped the jobs on my third attempt It stuck well to my fingers but didnt even look like sticking to anything else. I rated 1 because there is no zero.

Both exactly what I needed. Mesh was invaluable for out west where flies were dense.

Great prod., very strong adhesion

Having tried numerous combinations of cyanoacrylate adhesives and activators/primers for field repairs on plastic and carbon fiber frame parts of freestyle/racing quadcopters, this is the only adhesive (used with 3M Instant Adhesive Primer AC79 or AC77) where the repairs have survived subsequent crashes.

All other brands of adhesives I have tried (with or without activators/primers) either failed to bond entirely, or the bonds were so weak as to be useless.

let’s see what happens to the bond after a few months before commenting.

Do not purchase – buy anything else. You well get better bonding from elmers glue, or even an elementary school gluestick. The strength of the adhesive is laughable, and on the bottle it says cure in 10-45 seconds which is totally inaccurate.

At best it STARTS to cure in 10-45 minutes, but will still be gummy and without structure for two or more hours. I bought it thinking it would be of similar quality to regular gorilla glue used in woodworking – but their superglue must have been designed by someone’s toddler.

So, Gorilla Glue. I knew this would be strong as the name carries weight. What I didnt know, however, was quite how strong it was. I originally bought this to fix my shoes, the sole had come away from one of them.

Little did I realise that later on, hilarity would ensue. Left out in the open, my housemates took it upon themselves to dispose of an old pan by gluing it to a door. We knew itd hold well but this pan DOES NOT BUDGE.

It is fixed there, like a singular point in time. Unmoving. Eternal. Gorilla Glue is fantastic. Everyone should buy some just to have it around.

Very good for repairs on plastic lugs and cracks to fairings and other parts. Would use it again.

I bought this to secure some bolt heads into a casing which in not accessable when in place, the epoxy set in 60 mins and was more than up to the task, going to use it to do some other jobs but am really happy with it.

Bought and used to repair a pan handle several months ago, well tested and no problems!

I was eager to use it and purchased it for a job I had putting a Moulding around the perimeter of a bedroom up against the ceiling. I cut the scarf joints and applied the products. It held as if it was permanent then it fell apart as I went to put the Moulding up!! I tried several times, I shook the activator for 1 minute, I put glue on both surfaces and none of the above worked so needless to say all my hopes were dashed.

I went back to my Gorilla glue-my reliable stand by!!.

I have the FastCap kit with all the varieties of superglue. I use them enough I had run out of the activator. Greatest superglue I have ever found and well worth the price. Out performs anything I have ever bought in local stores.

The activator makes it stick a lot quicker and is a must have item once you start using it. Would and will purchase this product again in the future.

This product works great, and it is a must for those who do a lot of woodworking. I used it for some crown and appliques I was installing, and it worked well. I used it both with and without the activator, which bonds in 3-4 seconds, but without the activator I had about 10 seconds or so of working time.

It would probably work on other materials as well, but I haven’t tried it.

Works great but keep a wet rag handy to wipe off excess…it gets a bit “stringy” when you pull the tube away. Should also include a narrow nozzle tip for tight hard to get into jobs.

This product was exactly what I needed to adhere glass to metal. Only used a small amount, it dried very quickly and has held together well.

It glues great on glass, metal and hard objects that other glues cant tame. I like the fact that it holds good and last for a long time.

This glue is a very good bargain. It’s superglue as a jelly and with this it’s very easy to work with. I use it a lot in my hobby, which is to create things in miniature size for dollhouses. It’s much easier to work with than normal thin superglue because it’s easier to control and when I pour out a blob to use (I use very tiny amounts that I apply with the tip of a tooth pick) it doesn’t dry up immediately as the thin glue does.

I highly recommend this glue for all hobbyists.

Outstanding product, quality packaging and good price. This super glue gel is very strong and doesn’t develop cracks under pressure or at lower temperatures. I was a little bit skeptic because the bottle was only 40% full, but later found out that this is how these glues are packed for easier application and longer shelf life.

You’ll still get 15g as advertised. Having said that, I recommend this product.

i have bought this glue and have been working with it for a while now and it works great and fast hold. there has been many uses i have been using it for like plastic and ceramic and it is easy to use just follow the instructions.

If you need an instant glue that sticks most things, this is it. A few seconds and its stuck. A great product, just a shame its so expensive, quite a lot of product is lost in the special mixer tube, so line you repairs up and fix them all in one go.

But its still the best I’ve come across.

Does what it says. A lot of waste product each time you use by having to replace mixing nozzle every time, but at least it doesn’t dry up in bottle like other super glue products.

It sticks everything!
