20 Best Accessories For Gopro Hero 9 (2022 Updated)

BIG MISTAKE OF A PURCHASE. I’m very well versed and tech savvy with audio and video production. I’ve been considering adding a GoPro to my line-up for quite some time to augment videoing live music performances, primarily of my son.

I purchased a GoPro HERO11 Creator Edition at Best Buy on Friday September 16, 2022 after weighing the options for live music performances. I own and use a wide range of great gear from a Sony A7 to my iPhone and a host of other video and audio production gear.

The portability, stability and video quality of the GoPro seemed to make sense to capture more of the action shots I was wanting from the music performances. And, the “Creator Edition” seemed like a great out-of-the-box option.

Ironically, one of the lead sales persons at Best Buy was walking me through the pros and cons of my decision just prior to purchasing. He noted there’s been a lot of complaints about the GoPro 9 and 10 overheating.

This was of great concern, but the write-ups on the 11 mentioned the “Software Update” provided solutions for the overheating issue. I didn’t quite grasp how a software update could correct a hardware problem, but I trusted this to be the case.

WRONG DECISION. I purchased the GoPro HERO11 Creator Edition with the intention of using it with the included Charging Grip. GoPro offered assurances the overheating issues were the result of a software issue and could be remedied with an update, plus not using the camera in a stationary position.

I followed along with the most recent software and kept the GoPro moving while shooting my first concert with the camera in the shade. I was so angry that the camera overheated and shut down about 30 minutes into the performance.

I literally missed recording half of my son’s first performance with his new band at a major festival because the GoPro HERO11 overheated 30 minutes into the performance. UNREAL!!! This is completely unsatisfactory and total bust of a product.

Especially when a modern “action cam” can’t handle 30 minutes of shooting live music in the shade. What a piece of useless overhyped junk!!!! Thanks for the total let-down and waste of money. Worst of all thanks for making miss half of my son’s performance.

I occasionally video long speaking events and love the GoPro because of its continuous recording! But my old GoPro didn’t have a mic input so I had to record the audio separately and stitch it together afterwards which was a pain.

The media mod works great with the 3. 5mm input jack for my microphone AND it has two shoe mounts which work perfectly with my Rode Wireless Go microphone so it all stays attached. I had to watch a YouTube video to learn how to remove the camera’s battery cover so this would fit (just pull hard), but it slides in well and has a tight, sturdy fit.

It also had a USB port in the media mod for connecting to your computer for charging or transferring files. I could not connect it to my iPhone or iPad to transfer over USB-C, but that may because of my adapters.

I think you need a special “camera adapter” for the devices to recognize it. The iPad did charge it when connected though which was nice. It also has an HDMI out port, but it’s a much smaller connection so you’ll need a Micro HDMI to regular HDMI cable if you want to use it.

Overall it does exactly what I need and seems sturdy for long use.

THis is a solid product with room for improvement. First, this gives your Hero9 or 10 an external microphone– but the audio on the 9/10 is pretty good, so this doesn’t really improve the quality that much.

But the windscreen helps. WHat really helps this is the shoe mounts and the audio in plug. This enabled me to use my professional wireless microphone, mount the wireless receiver on the shoe mount and have some wireless freedom while getting superb audio.

THe case is solid enough. Probably what stops me from giving this a five star instead of the four, is the accessibility design: You have to unscrew the gopro from whatever mount you’re using to access the battery or the card.

Also, wish they had married this with an external battery solution to give longer life.

Great concept, but the gray plastic connection on the lanyard where it lies on your neck broke within days of use. Had it around my neck and all of a sudden, my GoPro fell to the ground – when I picked it up I saw the plastic connection that connects the two sides was cracked, disconnecting both ends and unable to be used after that.

I had to tie a knot to use it to complete the trip!.

DO NOT BUY!!!! Product should be discontinued. I purchased this item to ensure I wouldn’t lose my GoPro. This lanyard is the reason my GoPro9 is GONE! Had it hanging from my neck while walking & was nowhere to be found when we got back to the car.

Because of this lanyard i am missing my gopro9 with videos of my daughter & dog on the SDcard. :(.

Very easy to put your camera in and taking it out. Doesn’t effect any control button or screen. Extra handle provides extra security and protection. Saved my camera twice upon falling down from bag & hat holder.

I’ve been waiting for this a long time and finally got it. It makes my videos super cool especially doing sports. And most importantly it keeps the horizontal level locked and that makes video looks much cooler.

The new float covering for Gopro 9 is such a hugh improvement on the older version. One, when using I can actually see what i’am recording. You can see in the photos, how the old version blocked the viewing window.

But the new version does not. They also thought of how the tighting pin would fit, making sure that the form included a cut out for this pin. Luckily I have not needed it to show me it floated yet (besides testing it).

But I know that it wont drop to the bottom of the lake or river I am kayaking on. Which this small investment, protects the larger one. If you are using ypu gopro 9 near the water, you need to have this.

Mainly for ease of mind. Because when you are diving and swiming to the bottom of a body of water for your gopro, you will wish you had.

Note: The GoPro DOES NOT COME WITH THE FLOAT. Nor does any attachments. I bought this when I bought my GoPro Hero 10 Black prior to a 4-day kayaking trip as I wanted to make sure it didn’t sink to the bottom of the lake I was going to be kayaking.

It’s a tight fit getting the GoPro into, but it keeps it in place so the buttons are still accessible. It’s a bit bulky and WON’T work with the GoPro inside the clear waterproof case. Definitely worth every penny for protecting a great camera.

Love this! Using it in Belize were I almost lost my last GoPro, not because the water was so deep where I dropped it, it just shot through the water at an angle landing 20’ away from me in only 5’ of water.

The water was crystal clear but without a mask it was very hard to find amongst everything on the bottom, but fortunately I managed. This keeps it afloat and is obviously highly visible. The only thing I would change is the ability to attache the camera from either direction, the depression only allows the attachment screw to come from one side.

While I haven’t been using this quite for it’s intended purpose, it’s still great. I’ve been using it as a way to keep my camera protected between uses until I can get a more proper storage bag or something.

The only minor complaint I have is that the lens cover, which can be replaced, requires a very specific size hex bit to remove the screws and it’s not real easy to find one in stores. Even my iFixit kit only has bits that are just barely too large or too small.

It took a little while to figure out how to get this thing open. The latching mechanism is a little tricky, and isn’t very user friendly. Once you get your gopro inside it works great. Used it on my motorcycle to protect from rocks, bugs and debris.

It’s tough and doesn’t affect video quality.

To preface, I am new to manual camera settings and filters, but excited to play and learn! I got this to capture more cinematic footage. My research began to find something to filter out propeller warp when flying.

So far I have only used the ND8 at golden hour, sunset and midday, with activities ranging from playing with my puppy, to skydiving, to photographing the sunset. For video modes I set ISO 100, 60 fps, and shutter speed 1/120.

Color and light look so nice at golden hour and sunset. I am excited to try the stronger filters in more intense light, on the water, and at lower frame rate and shutter speed. The case that holds the filters is really secure.

I find it hard to open which can be a little annoying, but at the same time I trust it to stay closed and keep the filters protected. The filters also fit very securely in the foam cutouts so I don’t have to worry about them coming loose and bouncing around inside the case.

It can be quite difficult to change the filter on the GoPro, which, again, can be annoying, but also gives me confidence that it won’t ever come off accidentally. One nitpick is I wish the filter included with the GoPro fit in this case while using a PolarPro filter.

There doesn’t seem to be a good place to store it. You can squeeze the GoPro default filter into one of the spots for the PolarPro filters, but I worry that it might stretch out the foam and make it less secure for the PolarPro filter when that goes back in.

4. 9/5, highly recommend.

Firstly. Well made, as all my Polar Pro purchases have been. Secondly – mounting problems. I certainly cannot remove the original filter as easily as your video suggests. Even after several cycles, it is still VERY hard to remove the original GoPro filter.

Lastly, and his is why only 3 stars, it would have been nice to have a design that can be used when the GoPro Hero 10 is in the Media Mount. I now have to remove the handle, remove the accessories fitted to the media mount, remove the media mount, remove the UV, fit the ND, reassemble the media mount and its accessories!.

After watching some other moto vloggers I decided to buy a set for myself. They work withe the settings in the camera to create effective motion blur. I saw my footage compared to some other footage created on the same day and I have to say the motion blur is more appealing than the super sharp version.

Highly recommended if you are looking for the motion blur effect.

I use this filter scuba diving with my GoPro 8. It attaches to the housing perfectly for the GoPro perfectly and makes a significant difference in color. I had to order a second red filter because I scratched up the first banging it into boat ladders climbing out of the water with the camera hanging from my wrist.

Since then I now attach the camera to my BCD. It will scratch so treat it like you would any camera lens you might use, otherwise there are no issues with this product. It easily snaps on and off the housing with a retaining lanyard so you don’t loose it for shots you may not wish to use the filter for.

My primary use is between 15 – 80 feet with natural lighting.

I found only use for the red filter. The filter(s) comes with no easy way to secure. Remember on the water surface and above you want the red filter off. I managed to get a thin bungy cord through the side hole and secure it to the mount.

still it floats around. The filters scratch real easy and come with no cover while on the mount. Don’t buy this product will last for a very short while. Go for one with a mount hinge. Find an old sunglasses pouch to keep the filter in while not in use.

I will say this does add more battery life for what I use it for but I definitely thought it would last longer. I will say I have the media mod on my GoPro so I’m sure that does make a difference. But going from the original battery to this one I didn’t notice that much of a difference.

I haven’t had a chance yet to try it in cold conditions but still I’m not as impressed as I wish it could be.

These batteries are so much better than the batteries that came with the GoPro 10. They probably last 30 minutes longer on 5. 3K60 mode. I bought 3 of them, which will only last for about 3 hours in moderate weather.

The 2 pack came with a USB charger that can charge 2 at a time, so I wake up and 2 of them are ready to go.

It’s actually my first time to order in B & H because this item is not available here in Canada for almost 8 months. The item arrives on time and with one-click. it works properly as expected. I will definitely order for items once I need more items for my gear.

This work perfectly and exited to try this on my GoPro hero 8.

Comes with every thing you need for the need. Its better than having too purchase separate and cost a fortune. Its real use will hope to be put to use on a up coming fishing trip to relive the outing.

For all the videos that are using the accessories its well worth the purchase.

This was really inexpensive so I did not expect much and I still think it was a pretty good deal. Some parts are a little cheaper made than others but everything seams to work except the suction cup mount should not be used.

it wont keep a seal on a glass topped table, so if you put it on a car your camera will disappear Just sayin’ The gorilla tripod does not seem to attach well but it works and the selfie stick rotates in the wind over 40 MPH and scares the the hell out of you over all a 4 out of 5 because it is so cheap to buy it is still a great deal.

This is a great action camera accessory kit comes with a whole lot of things from a selfie stick to a tripod even a float for your camera and all of the sticky pads are actually 3M the good stuff. lol will definitely tell my friends about it great accessories for a great deal.

A great extension to raise your GoPro off of any mount (e.g. chest mount, helmet mount, etc.) Compatible with any GoPro (though it may not give you the invisible pole effect with the GoPro Max).

so far so good. used along with go pro bodyboard mount to get a higher angle. can also be used as a mini mono pod in hand held situations. not a bad product for price. Gets great angles.

The GoPro Bite Mount + Floaty is well worth the premium price tag. The model I purchased has lasted well through multiple tests in the ocean with no visible deterioration. The bite mount is comfortable and provides adequate airflow when in use.

This is really simple and handy but your mouth gets tired after a while. Better suited to short periods of use.

I am guessing this would be useful for those who want to film while swimming etc. I was hoping i could use this on my head mount when out in the boat but isnt really designed for this.

I chose this one because the other is more expensive. I wish the GoPro Hero 10 came with a simple lens cap (tossing the camera in a pouch or bag with other objects and accessories, I’d feel better knowing the lens were protected.

So, I bought this as a backup. It lacks the hydrophobic aspect (AKA chemical coating) that the newer one has FYI.

OEM replacement for gopro 9, not much more to say. Compatible with gopro 10 but doesn’t have the same coating.

On my larger cameras, I usually put a filter on the lens for protection. GoPRO offers replacement lens covers so you are never stopped by a broken or scratched lens. That is a great addition of a great camera.

Couldn’t find this anywhere locally so ordering online was my last option. I’m glad a local store got credit for the sale instead of amazon.

I purchased this pack because the mount that came with my GoPro Hero 8 broke. Seems this is general quality problem as two of the mounts out of this grab bag have broken on me now.

Product was as described. Made from good quality materials. Received the product within a few days. If I need anything else for this product,I will be back. Wil recommend to others.

The GoPro Ball Joint Buckle, P/N ABJQR-001. I have 3 GoPros and I have a ball joint buckle for each one. It is perfect for mounting on modular helmets where you cannot mount a camera on top, or for helmets that won’t allow you to mount on the very front of the chin.

So to get that perfect angle so the camera is level, you need the ball joint buckle. Also, if you set up your camera angle for one bike, then ride a different bike, your seating angle may be different.

Ever ride a sport bike, then hop on a cruiser? Totally different seating positions, meaning the angle of your helmet is different as well. If you have a hard buckle, you get the joy of removing that stuck-on mount, getting new double sided sticky tape, attaching all that, and then reattaching the mount back on hour helmet at a different angle.

Way too much work. And who wants to use multiple extensions to try to get that angle? Your camera will be sticking way out like a sore thumb, vibrating in the wind! The ball joint buckle fixes this all.

The the ball joint is really tight. It takes some force to move or turn it. I’ve had two others for over 4 years and not one of them has failed or moved from where I set it. They are still as tight as they were when new.

Now, I have to say, this is a ball joint, but it is limited to just how far it will tilt, right to left and front to back. You will need to mock it up before sticking that mount plate to your helmet.

It will; however, swivel/rotate around 360 degrees. I’ve put up some photos to give you an idea of how much tilt you will get, right to left and front to back. I hope this review helps. Ride or play safe!.

This was the worst purchase ever. I almost lost the gopro out the window. I was lucky and had the charger on it. I adjusted the swivle mount just a tad and it snapped in my hand and a sharp end poked my finger and I tossed it away because it felt like I was bit.

This swivel is to stiff to be a swivel and to fragile to put a 400$ camera on.

Ball joint is capable to hold Gopro on any angle. It os simply great. Only bad thing about all Gopro Accessories, they are very expensive. Price should not be more than $. I need 4 more ball joints but I will try to by it in after market.

So I could buy it on cheaper price.

Okay, so I bought this cage for the single purpose of mounting my GoPro Light Mod to my GoPro Hero 9. Unfortunately, while the light does slide in to the top or the side, it does not actually stay. It slides around and falls out easily.

There isn’t anything in the design of the cage to actually hold the light once in place. I’m going to have to get creative with duct tape or something to make the light stay in position. The moral here is that if you are buying this cage for that purpose, it may not be the one for you.

Otherwise, it seems well made, especially for the price point.

There is not much to say about this dual battery charger. Price is Ok, there is nothing fancy around it. No cable or voltage adapter are delivered and you will need to use a standard cable. As a result it looks very basic but does the job.

The significant drawback I immediately saw: batteries get very quickly unplugged from the inner electrical contacts of the charger, while they appear to stay in place. Just the light goes off and you realize it is unplugged and does not charge.

It is particularly unpleasant when you want to take your batteries to use the camera. The battery is OK too. As I just discovered the GoPro products, I discovered how it works. One battery fully charged will last about 1h00 of continuous footage, with camera settings adapted to save power.

Looking at the size of the battery and performance of the GoPro H9, I find it satisfactory. At this stage I have no idea of battery lifetime on mid-/long-term usage.

Gopro need to make better batteries that can last longer when used, and re-design the camera so you can charge it without needing to buy a mod or replacement door. Thats probably why they did it is to sell you these chargers as you are going to need it.

The charger comes with one battery, I would buy an extra one so you have one batery inside the gopro and 2 charging on the go , works off usb so you can charge it anywhere even with a power bank. Like all gopro products they are over priced but extra batteries are needed for a full day and a way of charging it on the go is great.

This charger and battery is only for the Gopro hero black 9 and 10 only.

Everything in this ad makes it look like it comes with two batteries. It uses the same pictures as from the GoPro website and is the same price as theirs, except theirs actually comes with two batteries.

Pictures, and even pics in the reviews, but only comes with one. Should be a lot less in price for only one.

I always test this type of gear before use, and the Start/Stop Record button fell off! We will be returning this unit so I’ll rate the next one we get.

Has great flexibility in the number of bar sizes you can attach too. Comes with a removable inner rubber seal that allows for smaller tube sizes. Also uses a vertical mount that allows for quick removal and reattachment of your camera leaving the bulk of the tube mount and your installation labor in place so a re-install is not necessary.

The vertical mount also uses a rubber piece to lock it into the rest of the tube mount one in place for additional security. This item has been improved greatly from the older 1st version mounts from GoPro.

Unfortunately a bit pricey for plastic and would essentially be perfect 100% solid/secure in an aluminum version (guess we have to wait another 10 years) so minus one star if you agree and have been looking for that for years like me.

But perhaps someone will take that into account on next update. Otherwise, a no brainer and a super great solution to mount small action cameras on medium to large roll bars. Very flexible in mounting options and quick to install.

Really no better option out there at this time currently for large tube mounts.

GoPro always delivers with its gadgets and mounts and this one, like all other gadgets and mounts doesn’t disappoint! I like to crear content weather it is hiking or riding my bike. This mount helps me capture great cockpit POV content from my Salsa mountain bike.

The diameter on the handlebar of my mountain bike, right in the middle, is on thicker side, so this mount is perfect for that area because the actual handler bar mount doesn’t open up that much. Also my brother has a Can Am off-road vehicle and this mounts fits most of the metal tubes that build the actual frame of the car.

Great for does front seat/passenger POV shots.

I use this for spear fishing and it has been a valuable asset to me. I attach it to my spear gun and it fits well, easily adjustable, and easy to take off. For any pole that needs to be gripped this device has gorilla grip! Sturdy, durable, and well made.
