20 Best 6X9 Marine Speakers For Motorcycle (2023 Updated)

What can I say, I have been playing these now for 32 weeks and the sound quality is the best I have experienced. Many people complain that when they get these speakers they lack specific frequencies.

They do not lack any frequencies it is the music player or the music. Far from lacking frequencies they can generate lower frequencies than most 6x9inch car audio speakers, starting at 27Hz all the way up to 38,000Hz.

What makes them sound so great is the 4 speakers that are built with a variety of materials that resonate low and high frequencies with greater effect than any 2 way speaker combination meaning that when you fine tune them with a GRAPHIC EQUALISER they can handle all the important sounds in the audible range and have great sound separation.

The speakers at full WRMS barely move and the MICA MATRIX MULTI LAYER is so stiff they could handle peak watts with less risk. The drivers are big and large enough to generate 100 WRMS. These things are the business, I can feel hard bass on the floor and in some locations smooth sub bass.

I can hear mid and high frequencies that I have not heard from my music coming through and I am playing them on 65-20,000Hz amplifier. They generate lower than 65Hz. Remember that all new speakers take 6 x 4 hours to warm up and as the atoms in thewires and circuits pole positive there is less resistance to current, if you do not understand the science you will think there is a problem.

Remember too that an audio amplifier needs time to warm up before you get the most out of it, at 4 hours it will peak and have less resistance in a warm circuit/wire. AWESOME SPEAKERS.

These Pioneer TS-A6886R speakers were a great choice for use in replacing the Ford Premium sound 50W (4 ohm) two channel speakers on our 2010 Ford Focus SES. The Ford speakers from that time period tend to degrade early.

The new speakers fit perfectly in the door cavity but make sure to tie the wires near the speaker to avoid the window from hitting them. The sound quality was slightly less than the dual channel Premium sound Ford OEM speakers but for the price we were very satisfied.

These Pioneer 60W (4 ohm) speakers were easily driven by the original radio that came with the Ford premium sound package. The speaker bolt pattern matched well with the Ford 18808 speaker bolt pattern and the original screws also worked on them.

We used Metra 72-5600 wiring harness adapters. Some reviews indicated the polarity of the wiring harness was reversed, so we took apart one door and tested the speaker and original speaker and original wiring receptacle.

We confirmed that indeed the wiring harness on the Metra product was WRONG with the large spaded white wire going to the NEGATIVE pin on the receptacle. The positive pin is the pin next to the alignment ears on the receptacle.

We reworked all the harnesses by cutting and swapping the wires and the speakers came to life! Now they produced GREAT sound rather than just good sound. We plan to use another four on our Ford Escape.

The original Ford speakers came with a foam cushion where these do not but there are aftermarket kits that you can add to the speaker, if you so desire. Speakers come in a box of two (a pair). Highly recommend.

Needed to replace a broken front door speaker in a ’02 Mazda Tribute. Replaced the fronts as a set, and was impressed with the sound quality. I’ve installed car audio for years, and the four-way design suggests poor high frequency performance, as a single tweeter with a decent crossover does the job much better than the 3 and 4-ways, which are more for marketing.

They want you to think 4 is better than 3, 3 is better than 2, you get the idea. 2 super tweeters on a 6×8? Wasted money that the manufacturer could have put into a better single tweeter. That said, I knew this before I made the purchase.

I bought them on a whim because I didn’t want to wait, and this is for a work beater where I’ll keep using the mediocre stock head unit. The performance these speakers deliver for the price amazes me.

The bass is outstanding– punchy, clear and deep (for a 6×8). The mid-range has awesome clarity, and the volume these reach without distortion (on a stock head unit) is above and beyond what I’d expected.

They’re in a whole different league compared to the stock speakers. The only thing that disappointed me, is the lack of brilliance on the high end. There is no sparkle that a nice tweeter normally delivers– the high frequencies are very “grey” though a decent head unit with an equalizer could probably improve things.

I’m still not disappointed in my purchase. They are worlds better than stock speakers and the price was right. Can’t ask for much more.

These were a huge upgrade to my stock bose audio components. My tweeter was blown so decided to pick these up and not pay the extra money for components for a cheap car like a miata. I did alot of research and alot of ppl actually disliked components in the miata and it’s a convertible anyway.

Lot of the road noise drowns out good sound. I got an aftermarket HU to go with these and added in some gtmat to the panels and I have to admit that i actually like listening to the radio in the car now rather than just my own media.

These aren’t like crazy amazing like those 150+ dollar coaxial speakers but they’ll do just fine as an upgrade from stock speakers. Only thing i disliked about these were the brackets that came with them does not line up at all with the holes in the door so i had some drilling of my own to do.

There’s only 3 screws holding the bracket in place instead of the 4 like original factory speakers. But it’s whatever to me. Not much of an issue since this was cheap and the cars old and cheap.

I installed these speakers to a 40 quart useable ice chest, one on top and one on the side. Powered by a mini pyle 100 rms marine amp. With the ice chest closed and the volume cranked, the highs and mids sound great and the bass is really good with no distortion.

When I crack open the ice chest a little for the speaker up top, the bass sounds even deeper and no distortion. I also installed these speakers to a costum 9x9x22 box I built. When sealed the highs are great, the mids are great, the bass is great.

When cracked open the bass is better! Bottom line is that these speakers work great in a sealed application but sounds even better when ported or has more room to breath like the rear deck of your car, or even your front doors if applied right.

Love my Polk Audio 6. 5″!!! I was looking around and went into a old family owned speaker shop locally. After exchanging many stories he informed me of the Polk audio speakers and how they have spread from just home audio.

After a demo I was hooked! The clarity of these speakers are amazing and incomparable to any other I have heard, and I’ve heard many! The Con now a lot of Mids but to be honest the front placement on the vehicle doesn’t need it (Not to mention the marching band in the trunk).

Adding it to a newer Impala the difference is beyond 300%, I purchased the 6×9 but haven’t installed them yet. If they have good mid along with the same excellent highs, LOOK out Alpine! I’m an Alpine man for life, however I will consider polk the “Smart” little sister, and keep it in the family!.

Having bought new helmet with nice cut outs for earphones I decided to buy the Sena smh5. It’s well packaged and looks good. The speakers fitted perfectly and the rest of the assembly was straight forward.

The switch and dial are easier than expected to operate with a glove hand! It does everything most would need but I have niggles. The main issue is the sound from the speakers which is not very good , have it turned low it’s inaudible and turn it up and it turns to mush and is very tinny, there is a very annoying clicking sound when it’s changing between phone and music.

I’ve spoken to Sena and done an update but it’s no better. Secondly, if you make a phone call whilst listening to music I have yet to discover the magic button press to activate the music again. Tonight after a phone call, I rode home in silence for 20 minutes only to pull into the garage and the music came on again ! All in all its not a bad set but I wouldn’t say great or worth the money, but I have no experience of any others.

All though alot cheaper than the kit intended for my particular helmet.

I actually bought these to fit in my summer helmet. I recently bought a new Sena Bluetooth unit for my main helmet as replacement for the old one I passed onto my son. I didn’t want to buy a complete unit for each helmet especially as I have programed it up for my phone and bike.

Now I just clip the main unit on whatever helmet I’m wearing. You get two different microphones with the main unit a boom and a stick on one so all I needed was the speakers and wiring loom which comes in this set.

The sound is slightly different from helmet to helmet but I expected that as because of the cavities inside of them.

Everything you need comes in the box, including comprehensive instructions. Fitting took about 20 minutes, but most of that was playing around with the lining of the helmet to find the best place for cables and the microphone.

On the move the sound quality really isn’t that bad, music is lacking bass but for under 100 whose complaining! Voice instructions for Sat Nav are really clear and even phone call quality is really good.

I am mega impressed.

Didnt arrive on time but they definitely sound good for the price.

So I purchased these speakers to replace my factory speakers in my toyota camry. The sound is excellent with these speakers just running on the factory head unit. In year 5 of these speakers, I noticed that 2 out of the 4 speakers now have a cracking noise when on low.

I read reviews on other sites concerning these speakers and it sounds like a common problem. Other than that, you won’t be disappointed.

I put them into an antique radio case and I’m driving them with a class D amp that sounds amazing with an old pair of Alpine’s thought these would be at least as good given that they’re newer tech but they sound hollow in comparison.

Using Spotify’s equalizer they sound passable – will try a different amp at some point.

I bought these speakers after digging about on the net as I wanted to replace the oem ones in my car, as one of them had blown. The sound quality is far superior than the standard Nissan ones, even at higher levels.

The bass isn’t great but that doesn’t matter as I’m running a sub but the clarity is there. Also they are a very reasonable price. The supplier had shipped them out to me in next to no time. Happy all round!!.

Bought this as a replacement for the OEM rear car speakers which has passed useful life. I have given it 5 stars, based on on-line reviews, although I still haven’t installed. The price was motivating factor for purchase – on sale and with inflation, today is cheaper than tomorrow!.

BIG SOUND FROM A SMALL UNIT. AWESOME COMPACT MINI AMP. VERY LIGHT WEIGHT YET BUILT TO DO THE JOB. IT’S GREAT THAT IT ONLY USES A 15 AMP FUSE TO OPERATE THE SYSTEM. THAT SAVES BATTERY DRAW DOWN ON BIKE ELECTRONICS.

the specifications of this sub works very well with my system, this infinity reference 1070 out performs my old Rockford 4410 sub by a mile, matches my infinity kappa 6×8’s great bye

Love these 6×9 Marine Polk Speakers. They made me a true believer when I got them installed on my 2018 Harley Davidson Street Glide. These speakers SLAPPPP. Let me put that in English terms they sound great.

Loud, clear, no distortion and have great bass to them. Plus they with standed the rain/hail storms here in San Francisco California. The Polk Speakers are still working and jammin.

In fairness, at 60 you can’t expect much. But just to clarify now I have bought them and installed them I realise that for that price it’s never going to be amazing. These speakers are fine for replacing a broken existing speaker but if you want to ‘upgrade’ and get a great punchy sound – spend more money!.

They are the correct size for a second gen Dodge ram but you might need to create a custom spacer or cut around the edges of the metal inside the door to make it fit. The basket is slightly wider than the OEM speakers.

Other than that they work and look great. I have them hooked up to my Alpine head unit and sound good in any type of music. Definitely worth the purchase and the wait. Im planning to run a 4 channel amp to them just to give them some extra power and for a better sound quality.

Im not sure how theyd play if you have a very low wattage amp but it is true, the more power you put to a speaker, the higher you can crank it with cleaner sound and without distortion. I had a set of these along with three sets of mid/tweeter components, two 10 and one 12 competition subwoofer all hooked up to two Mobile Authority (A1606) 1,600 watt 6 channel amps, and ran 250 watts/per channel through them.

Obviously they were not rated that high so when I I only had to crank them half way and when I cranked them to about half power they sounded incredible! LOUD as all get out, crystal clear and absolutely NO DISTORTION at ALL! Ive played them for over four years and they can take anything Ive thrown at them and I get out of the car some times with my ears ringing sto take my word for it when I say they are awesome.

I just bought another pair for my brothers boat and they are awesome in the boat as well. Ive had super loud stereos in my car since 1977 when I was in highschool and I can tell you that these speakers really take the punishment.

Just dont use them or any speaker with low wattage folks or youll be pushing distort through the speaker, head up the voice coil, and fry it. Buy good power to accompany it and you cant go wrong! And no matter how old you are, CRANK IT UP MAN!!! Nothing like LOUD AS S*** MUSIC going down the road doing your own thing!.

These 6x9s have a great full range sound. I have mine crossed over at 80Hz hpf with a 12db slope. Which gives them even fuller and richer sound. Definitely recommend these speakers. Quality product at a great price.

Huge fan of these mids. The 3-way function can handle anything you throw at it. Worked perfectly as an upgrade from my factory door speakers. I bought tweeters to get a little higher but ended up not needing them cuz the tweeter on the speaker is perfect.

I dont want any bass coming from my door speakers so I set them up strictly for mid-range and with my bass knob turned off the sound still sounds amazing. You can clearly hear different instruments and parts of the music.

The 90 Watts and 45 arms are easy to see. You wont be sorry to buy these speakers if you like your music clear at any level. Great speakers.

I have purchased Rockford Fosgate Punch amps for years and they were strong, reliable and efficient! When my daughter blew the speakers in the car that we gave her that my wife had been driving we looked for some good reasonably priced midrange speakers.

Well, we were surprised, these were definitely reasonably priced but the sound quality was comparable to much higher level speakers. I tend to run toward high level Infinity, Polk, Alpine etc. and if you do as well you will be extremely pleased with these Rockford Fosgate speakers!!!! When it is time for new speakers for my other vehicles as long as the long term quality is there then I will not hesitate to use these as replacement for my current speakers.

I drive my speakers hard and both daughters do as well and these are taking the power and delivering great sound! I definitely recommend these speakers either as replacements for blown factory speakers or if you are building a system!.

Speaker housing is slightly too big for the door liner housing. Need 3/16″-1/4″ spacer for it to fit properly. Dont go bigger than that or the door panel will hit the mid and high range speakers because they stick out so far.

TRUST ME. Anyways they sound way better than the factory speakers. I did not have the upgraded alpine system. The sound is clean and not so distorted. For the money it was a great buy!!!.

Like all CT Sounds products, extremely well built. I continue to be impressed with the look and feel of all their speakers. I found these to be very pleasing to the ears using head unit power only. Great for sound quality.

Compared to the 6. 5 coaxials and separates (I have both) they sound just as good as the separates for higher frequencies, but not as much midbass as the separates. I would imagine feeding them some real power would make them shine.

What I can say for certain is I’m extremely impressed with how they sound as a direct factory replacement. Great job, as always!.

I discovered these are the same ones as the Cerwin Vegas at 1/3 the price! The important comments of a speaker are the magnet weight and size, spider size, type of surround and x max factor. Only about 2 or 3 speaker manufacturers exist around as all the names are attached on final assembly.

If your looking for big magnet, spider, and good surround, this is the speaker to get!.

I’ve never heard of this company before but I was curious and looked them up. I was already researching for replacements and thought I’d give them a try since they offered a nice return guarantee if I wasn’t happy.

Upon arrival, I was impressed with the quality of materials and design of the speakers. They looked great and couldn’t wait to install them and rock on. I have yet to fully fine tune my system but so far overall, the speakers definitely hang with previous brands that I’ve used before.

The mid bass is not the best but the lows hit good and the highs are not harsh. As for price, they are competitive and their good customer service is caring and attentive. I plan on purchasing some front speakers too so that all are matching.

So. yes, I recommend giving them a test drive and listen for yourself. You won’t be disappointed. :0).

These r best 4 the money u can get. Would definitely buy again. My only problem is that they would not fit in front door panel of my 2018 Ram 1500. Audio shop wanted $1300 for custom install. They did fit in rear door panel after minor modifications to old mount.

Again, great speaker for price, but check 2 b sure that they will fit where stock speaker is if that is where u plan 2 put them.

I was recommended Skar Audio by a friend and I have to say I’m so happy. By far the best sounding speakers I’ve ever heard in a car. Automatically made my car so much cool and they sound AMAZING, clear treble and mids, no distortion or trouble handling a good amount of bass, they get so loud.

Can’t wait to show off to my friends. The tweeters and 6. 5’s were excellent from this series as well but these are my favorites.

I am so impressed by the quality and sound of these speakers. I replaced a two separate pairs of JBL Club 9632 and installed these Skar TX69 in the rear doors of my Ram 1500. I had my father on looking showing him how easy it is to upgrade the sound of any vehicle using Crutchfield’s $10 dollar write up.

The sound difference is polarizing throughout testing one against the other. My main reason for the new Skar Audio install was an impedance issue, the new Alpine KTP-445 Amp is 4-Ohms and the JBL’s are 3-Ohms & lower in the other pair, my new amp would shut off at high volume, and I didn’t want to risk having to replace it.

Dry disappointed. This is the second set of Skar 6x9s I have bought that do not perform well. Of course I will continue to use Skar because everything else has worked flawlessly. I wish I still had the box I would return them I will just order some 6 inch speakers with a set of tweeters and crossovers.

For the price. The best speaker on the market. I’ve had skar audio for a long time. And never had any issues. Been great. These 6x9s have been great so far

Sound awesome but they are just a factory replacement on a aftermarket headunit. Can’t wait to see how they sound with a little more power put to them. But they plop right in the factory location and screw holes with ease.

And fit behind the factory grill.

I bought these cheap speakers trying something new customer, didn’t won’t to spend a lot and I understand so I purchased these speakers from local BPS in Myrtle Beach. Sealed the speakers double the required amount as always with 5200 and liquid tape on power tabs.

After proper drying time, I always water test my work , no leaks speakers working great. I go across front of speakers with a little spray of water, instant popping and loss of volume!! Speakers would probably do you well in the house, apartment or condo in the desert.

This product has no business on a boat!!As long as these water resistant speakers are not near water they want probably do fine. I’m surprised the water painted on the box didn’t kill these 6. 5″ waste of plastic.

Sound quality is not that great but I wasn’t expecting much so it is what it is. Didn’t send warranty card of because boat didn’t leave the shop. If you are looking or boat speakers it’s best to come off the hip a buy the best.

I would of been better off drinking turpentine an urinating on a brush fire!!.

Easy Install. Good sound for the money. There are better speakers on the market however, I wasn’t looking for high-end speakers for my 30 year old boat. I just wanted something to listen to on the water without having to break the bank and having to listen to crackling sounds.

Bought these to replace the outside speakers on my camper trailer. Have only used them once since installation. They sound ok and look a lot nicer than the original ones that came with the camper. The only problem I had was my hole was 5″ diameter and I needed a 5.

5″ diameter hole to make them fit. I had to take a skill saw and make the hole bigger which wasn’t too hard to do. I also had to drill 4 new holes for the mounting screws that hold them in place. I wished I had known all this before I purchased them.

The big test will be to see how long they last. Time will tell if they will hold up to the weather, but for the price I won’t be out much if they don’t last.

absolutley love the quality of the construction really a well built product. 0 complaints on sound quality. I am an audio enthusiest and entry level audiophile can deffinetly hear the difference between the DD speakers that were previously installed (yes am running external amp) love the crispness with a well rounded mid bass.

Cant speak of bass power on own because am running 2, 12in subs lol. Overall great speakers.
