bought these cause the head unit on my car was going out and I suspected the speakers would not take the new head unit. well i installed the speakers first and sound improved a little. but once the new head unit was installed it really improved the sound in my car.
gone are the days of having to max out my Stereo volume to hear my music over the sound of my car on the highway. now i have a bigger issue of the sound being too loud so i can’t hear my little one in the back seat.
on top of that i couldn’t tell if i had speakers in the back doors of my car until i put my ear up to the speaker grill. installed these with the standard head unit and it was better and more noticeable.
but once the new Pioneer head unit was installed i can tell from the front seat of the car that sound is coming from the back door speakers. i was able to install them rather easily into my 2017 Nissan Versa without having to buy the speaker adapter kit.
(might recommend it for the rear door speakers. ) but managed to get them installed by taking apart the plug on the nissan wiring and replacing one of the installed slim connectors to a wider connection.
door speaker install can be a simple thing depending on the car. it’s installing the head unit that might get tricky enough I don’t recommend for beginners who have never installed anything on a car.
and if you buy a lot of tech at best buy the total tech membership would be an advantage when installing a new car stereo.
JBL for build and sound quality gets an automatic three stars. I specifically bought these speakers for the rated 2. 3 Ohm impedance. They are straight up LYING about that spec. My meter reads 3. 1-3.
3 Ohms and I even went to test other pairs at the store. You might think it’s no big deal when comparing 2 vs 3 Ohm but when they are going into a car that will only ever have the stock radio for power it IS a BIG deal.
Obviously, the damping factor will go down by decreasing the impedance but that is an acceptable trade off to get about 10% more loudness volume from the speaker by the lower impedance. Every little bit counts when you have only stock radio power to deal with.
It’s very disappointing that a company like JBL would lie about their specs like this. It also makes me seriously question the accuracy of their 1 watt SPL rating as well but I do not have the equipment to test that.
I pruchasd these to replace my stock speakers in my 2021 Volkswgaen Jetta R-Line. I did all front and back the same size. The loudness is significantly better and the clarity is still there. My main concern was I really liked the clarity from my stock speakers but I didn’t notice any change or distortion.
My speakers were professionally installed by the audio team at my local best buy location. The price was great and the sound is fantastic. If you’re looking for bass then you have to buy a sub you’re not going to get it from your dooor speakers or at least not from these.

Bought to install in an 08 nissan versa. Was extremely disappointed when I took them out of the package. Magnet and basket are smaller than the 12yrs old paper oem speakers. Surround is too small for the 35hz frequency response in the specs and had mounting holes(?) drilled through it.
Mounting was a treat as the mounting holes are slots as opposed to holes like every other speaker. Installed them knowing they are going to get replaced. With foam surround and silicone dried, low volume on the factory headunit is already showing since of the speaker’s limits.
Factory unit is 14w rms. Pioneer use to make a good product. This is worse than buying from WISH.
It’s definitely louder than the factory ones, but it’ll just crackle and pop when the volume is above 20 and the bass is up. Maybe because it’s 2-way speaker with the twitter in the middle so the woofer is actually hollow.
It also won’t doof doof without an amp. But it’s ok, shallow and easy to install, had to use shorter screws as the ones come with the speakers are waaayyy too long.
Very poor speakers. I set one up on the right side of my car and left the factor speaker on the left side. Then by flicking the balance left to right I was able to compare them. Bass on both speakers was equally bad.
Trebles were also comparable. I have a Volkswagen Caddy 2012.

I blew the factory 6×9’s in the rear deck and in both front doors and just needed something to get me by to give me the mids and highs I was looking for with the system in the trunk. These were the only decent ones on the shelf, so that’s what went home with me.
— The cutout diameter is 6- 1/16 x 8- 3/4, which was slightly larger than the holes where I pulled the factory speakers out of. I had to modify the car to get them in by bending the edges down inward with pliers all the way around.
Once that was done, they fit in perfect and screwed in tight. I didn’t use the black wire grills that came with them. The door speakers already have the inner door speaker grill, and the rear deck has a carpeted panel that tucks into place over the it.
For a quick replacement of junk factory speakers, I think they’re better than what I initially thought they’d be like. I really only needed them for the mids and highs to balance out the bass coming from the trunk.
— Speaking of bass. I got a kick out of the review left before me and will say this: These Kenwoods are only 6×9 three way speakers, 45w @ 4ohms / 400w max, and not a subwoofer fed with power. Plus, he said he is still running his FACTORY head unit in his car.
I still have the factory stereo in mine, and know that any factory unit isn’t pushing anywhere close to that 45w/400w max threshold, so no. you’re not going to hear the full potential of these with a factory unit.

Very easy to install in 1997 Ford Ranger. Perfect fit. Recommend getting separate wiring harness to avoid cutting wires. Decent speakers. Clear with bass. I installed a pair in the doors and two behind the seat on each side in existing speaker space.
Used existing grills. I included pictures of the rear speaking installed (but before covering with factory grill which fits nicely on top). Second picture is mounted on door. Again, it was a perfect fit in the space and used existing screw holes.

Bought this to replace the terrible OE front door speakers for my 2022 Ford Maverick. Replacing the tweeters in the front and the tiny speakers in the back would be too much hassle, so went with these that are much easier to DIY install as it has a tweeter inside of it.
Needed a wiring harness (Metra 72-5602) and mounting bracket from Crutchfield to keep it easy (Metra 82-5605). Fits great. Blows the cheap OE speakers out of the water, though I bet any aftermarket speaker would do that.

These speaker for the money can’t be beat. I have driven them with an a lot of power as well crossed over at around 100hz I currently have them in a sub / sat system with 400 WPC rms 1200 wpc peak power amp I have them coupled to a Klipsch 12 in powered sub and these rock to say the least.
They make a good stand alone bookshelf speaker as well. 103 spl with 1 watt makes them easy to drive as well with and power amp. I have them paired with outboard titanium horns. Crossed over at 3500 with a custom built crossover.
If ported the right frequency would be 68hz but I have them ported at 125 to control them better and I like the kick it adds at 125 hz as well.
These Rockvilles replaced, old crusty 92 db 6. 5 coax speakers that were toast. Id smoked their tweeters just doing a 1 khz test tone at rated amplifier power. These heavy Rockvilles were a pain to mount, being another 1/2 inch deeper.
The magnet diameter was also trouble, ended up cutting off the power window track for clearance. But they are worth the installation headache. After cutting a 3/4 inch ring, they cleared. The rating of 103 db at 1 watt/1 meter is to be believed.
These are astounding drivers combined with a digital crossover and a full range class D amp. A bass drum has a sound everyone has heard. But these Rm64pro drivers can reproduce a snare drum, or cymbal crash with so much authority, that Im amazed that theyre budget speakers.
Very low distortion when the frequency of 80 hz and slope are set up. A speaker to be careful with, for the sake of your hearing!.
I bought these to replace the mids in a Soundsream component set and wow soooo much better. I’m powering them with a Soundsream AR1200. 4 amp and they match up really good. I was skeptical because of the low cost but it is a steal at the price.
They crank and sound really really good. I can’t imagine you could touch these under a $100 really prob $150+. They sound clear and real punchy awesome midbass. I can run the amp on full no need to chop off any lows with the crossover they take em in stride.

Cartoys took my return for the component version of this speaker as I realized upon removing the rear door skin there was no separate tweeter (oops). Following a quick YouTube video installation was a snap (Hyundai 2018 Elantra).
The result? Clean crisp sound even at max volume (factory head) no extra amp (yet?). The front speakers are still factory, they sound bad at 3/4 to full volume. They’ll get changed out next weekend then a sub.
I am very picky about my sound, I require good range, balance, and not too much treble and no cheap sounds (poor reproduction of original sound) at any frequency. These are the best there are in this price range, it’s very difficult to get all music to sound good with one set of speakers and one receiver, so if you listen to noisy music you might pick something with less pronounced treble, but if you don’t listen to anything with tons of high notes constantly overriding your music then these will keep it sounding nice and clean with good range assuming you have proper sound reinforcement (good speaker boxes (not mdf wood!) And you need a sound dampening cloth and proper sizing on your boxes).
bought these for a surprise for my daughter and one had a faulty X-over so I had to scramble to find something local before she returned, but the one that worked sounded good. if you install as much or more audio as I have you will get a bad one here and there.
had a customer bring me a amp one time with one channel with reversed polarity. I have seen that in speakers but not a amp before. point I am making is I would buy them again unless I had herd about more that were defective so I will still give them a 4 of 5.

I’m not sure what kind of rating to give, since I haven’t installed the speakers yet, but I will say that I was very disappointed that there was ZERO installation instructions, nor were there speaker wires, nor mounting screws.
You only get speakers, and that’s it. Normally, when I buy speakers, there is at least paperwork, terminal connectors, and info about the speakers, speaker wire with connectors, even though you might not be able to use them.
My frustration comes from trying to call Rockville before I even made the purchase, and I got hung up on TWICE before I was able to speak with a sales rep. This has nothing to do with Walmat, but the company Rockville, so that’s two strikes against them.

This is not a full range speaker. Not designed for bass. Comes with capacitor that eliminates bass frequencies. About 700hz crossover. Nearly a perfect midrange. Distortion free. Very clear. I like the 8 ohm for my application.
I have this in 6″ and 8″ , I also have the rockford fosgate punch pro’s in 6″ and 8″ and this stay much cleaner when getting loud. Been abusing them for 2 years on a hifonics brutus 1200 watt cea compliant amp and still playing no problems.

WOW!!!! When I was a young lad back in the newly formed MTV Era. Blaupunkt was always known as that high end, high cost, supreme quality company that told your friends that you were serious about car Audio.
Then like so many started to live on a name. At least that was what most of us thought. I think it was actually a rumor and because what we had speakers (Blaupunkt) that lasted so long we didn’t buy Blaupunkt for a decade or two.
That and Infinity and other top shelve brands came on the scene. So I when I was in need to replace some factory equipment in my Jeep Cherokee to go with a nice mega sound/watt setup I’m doing I saw these for $14 and thought why not??? Let’s just see.

Just installed these after having them around for a good few months, when I bought them they were on rollback, and at $20 for the pair, they came in an awesome box that looked and felt great, I opened them up and they smelled like fresh rubber latex which I love, I love that new smell.
Meanwhile, after installing them in my project wagon with grilles, I gotta say they looks sleek and the blue accents remind me of Sony during the xplod days. Definitely recommend, especially on head units, I’d be weary on high powered units.

Had a set of 16 year old pioneers in my truck doors and the drivers side woofer died on me so got these to replace the blown one. Install was easy on my truck lined up with old holes from other pioneer.
Install will be different on other applications. I am running a 16 year old kenwood cd player with no amp and this works well for me.
I built a 100W Bluetooth stereo out of a toolbox with these speakers. I can turn it all the way up with no distortion and it is louder than I really need it to be. At low volume there is plenty of bass to give it depth.
I highly recommend these speakers to anyone building a Bluetooth stereo.

These are pretty poor quality. I didn’t want to spend much money as I’m considering selling my car soon. They made a big improvement over the paper speakers in my ve commodore but these speakers should honestly be about $35 full retail.
They are fairly crackly at low volume and the cone construction is extremely flimsy. I personally would either spend a few extra dollars and buy something more sturdy. The cone and cone surround which on most speakers is coated foam or rubber appears to me like a coated paper on these and doesn’t bounced back into shape well.
I’ve given two stars because they were on sale. But in all honesty even jaycar door speakers put these to shame. Go with a different brand or spend at least $80 these feel like no namers off ebay.
Well these are good sounding as you would expect, clear and crisp but lack any kind of low end at all. Installed into a 2017 Toyota Hilux to replace the awful paper and plastic speakers and while the amount of volume is much better without any distortion, at low volume the old speakers had far more low end and sounded punchier.
For me this is no issue as I have an under seat sub but if you want some half decent bass then i’d be looking for something a little more capable. As “general purpose” background style speakers they are fine.
I was listening to the other speakers at SCA and hadn’t even contemplated the Kenwood brand. After flicking between the Sony, Pioneer and JVC that I was interested in ($70+ range) none really took my fancy and all were muddy (low mids were dominate taking away any low end and ruining any clean highs).
For fun I flicked over to the Kenwood KFC-S1666 and there it was – clear vocals, no muddy low mids (leaving room for some lower bass to come through – though you don’t buy these for bass) so decision made.
They do really have a ‘Sound Stage’ sound to them. Only negative part is they are a little harsh around 3-4K so if you have an EQ you can smooth that out. Given the low RMS wattage they also work well straight off a head unit and don’t require an amp.

Cheap, and clean sound. For a budget friendly sound system, these are a very good candidate.
Bought these as my first choice was avaliable (that being Pioneer). Hooked them up and worst than I expected. The frequency range is just not there bottom line. Anyone who thinks these sounds good needs a hearing check.

It seemed to give performance but bass it was lousy, doesn’t mingy deep, leaved like a shoddy with apailling sound darn! makes me hard to rate, lousy mid-range. with my CERWIN VEGA 2500 watts amplifier at 100W 4 channel rms and parametric equalizer TIMPANO after the sync pays me rough.
All settings soundwaves frequency tests but still limited with distortion. increased volume levels on 70% cone going worsen approaching top peak power. Low tones as it does not deepen that expected density.
Rear magnet is bulky to install making it uncomfortable on Mitsubishi Lancer car hindering one sided indoor windows (chubby magnet). If I found about this before i wouldn’t bought it, exchanged them for a phantom boss mod.
P65. 4C. I no longer recommend it except that you want to invest hearing a lame audio.
I bought these to replace the rear door speakers in my vehicle. I also replaced the front speakers but used a more all around Pioneer speaker for the fronts. They may not be sub-woofers but they do have an amazing amount of bass.
I actually turn up my mid-range on my equalizer to compensate for the extra bass. Well except when I really want some thump then I turn up the base, and watch the mirrors shake. Yes these have enough bass to make the mirrors rattle.
I have tried other speakers thru the years but keep coming back to Pioneer. While they are not going to compete with the top of the line speakers, they can compete with ones that cost many times as much.
I don’t think any that are comparably priced can equal let alone surpass the sound and quality of these. I bought Pioneer TS-A1605C 350 Watt 6. 5″ 2-Way Component Speaker System for the front doors as well.
With this combo I figured it would hold me until I decided to add a sub-woofer. Now I am not a Hi-Fidelity connoisseur but I like to hear my music clearly whether it’s classical, jazz, top 40 or rap and every once in a while I really want to hear some thump.
I now don’t think I will bother with the sub woofer. I have enough of everything with just these four speakers to satisfy 90+% of my desires. If you want to have a good amount of thump with out actually getting sub-woofers these are very, very highly recommended.
The only negative I noticed was that they do have a deep mounting depth. They were easy to install but my rear window wouldn’t go all the way down any more and actually hit the speaker on it’s way down.
I fixed that using foam pipe insulation from Home Depot. I just glued it around the magnet and now when my windows go down they hit the foam and stop with out any chance of damage. Was a great solution and I am so pleased with these.
Best six and a half’s dollar for dollar on the market. Hooked four of these up to a 2000w crunch, the sound is amazing. I was worried about lacking highs with these, but these speakers are not lacking at all.
The bass is really awesome. You’ll still need a sub to really hit the deep bass, but even by themselves these speakers do an amazing job. The mounting depth is a little deep compared to most, a fuzz over 3″, so be sure to measure and make sure they will fit first.
