Background; I was gifted this coffee maker for Christmas 2020 and at the time of writing this review on 01/10/2022, I have no serious complaints! I use this coffee maker every. single. day, but I use the xl travel mug 80% of the time on the iced setting 9/10 times and the classic setting 1/10 times, the xl mug 10% of the time on the classic setting 9/10 times and on the iced setting 1/10 times, and the half/full carafe another 10% of the time on the classic setting 10/10 times.
Personally, the only things I’ve noticed as a negative are the collection of dried coffee grounds on the very top of the machine within the inner portion of the basket where the water sprays out and the fact that certain travel mugs will not fit inside of the maker which can be frustrating if I’m in a rush and don’t have a clean fitting mug at the time.
BUT, I’ve never noticed any grounds to physically spill out of the top of the basket OR leak into the carafe. I’ve also NEVER experienced a leaking problem for the water reservoir, the carafe to fill only 1/2 or 3/4 full when on the full brew setting, or have had my carafe (glass, not thermal) shatter.
With that being said, I have gone through the other reviews and noticed two things. -One: a lot, and I mean A LOT of the 5-star reviews are from people who received this product FREE and should not be completely trusted! -Two: my review DOES NOT dismiss the complaints of anyone else.
A lot of the 1 or 2-star reviews are concerning and disappointing to me as I’m a huge Ninja brand fanatico. Their reviews are also extremely similar to nearly all of the other Ninja coffee makers (water leaking, not brewing the correct amount, not lasting over time, coffee grounds spilling out the top or spilling into the carafe, poor customer service, etc.
). I love mine as it seems to be one of the few outliers of many bad units sent out. I would also recommend this product with caution and most likely recommend paying for the extended warranty. Disclaimer; I WILL BE RATING THE 4 CATEGORIES ON MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE.
PLEASE DO NOT DISMISS THE FULL COMMENT AS MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD BAD EXPERIENCES AND MINE SEEMS TO BE THE EXCEPTION.

It’s a very nice coffee machine, in that it can make both a single cup of coffee, both from a k-cup and from your own ground coffee, and full carafe of 1. 5-1. 6 liters of coffee (that’s around 55 oz in the archaic measurement system).
It takes some time to figure out how to use it, but that’s because it can do all these things: how to slide cover forward and backward to either install a k-cup adapter or to use the basket for ground coffee without the adapter; to use the k-cup adapter you need to slide another part of the adapter cover forward to open it.
The machine itself has stickers that explain how to slide the covers to do what you want, so this is simple and after you used it couple of times, seems quite logical. Also, the user interface is also quite logical, and the machine detects how it it configured (if the k-cup adapter is installed or not) and lights up only controls that are relevant for the current configuration – this is quite intuitive.
The resulting coffee tastes good – I compared brewing the same amount of the same coffee the coffee in my hairo v-60 pourover and in this machine, it tastes similar, although the Ninja machine uses twice less time to brew, (around 2 min vs 4-5 min, in pourover), which can explain the slightly weaker coffee form Ninja machine – you probably could use more coffee grounds to make it stronger.
At least, the machine does the initial ‘bloom’ of the coffee. As you listen for it to work, there is a distinct phase at the beginning of it gurgling and dispersing initial small amount of hot water to the coffee, then it stops and waits for some time, comparable to what I do to bloom coffee grounds in the pourover, so this is good.
The machine also has a milk froster on the side that I have not yet tried to use, but I’m sure I will get to it sometime soon. I took away one star for: a) it indicates all measurements in ozes (ounces) – I needed to do a lot of mental arithmetic to convert all this into grams.
b) some problems with k-cups: so far, during the time I had it, I used already around 10 k-cups in it. With one type of k-cup it just fails to pierce the top: the three thick needles it uses to pierce the top of the k-cup are just too short, and I think the material of the foil on the top of these k-cup is kind of stretchy, so the needles just stretch it not enough to break.
I solved this by slashing the k-cup top with a knife, so that the hot water can get into the k-cup. Second problem with the k-cups was, with one of the k-cups, some (small) amount of the grounds of coffee got into a cup.
This probably also could be attributed to the shortness of the needles that pierce the top of k-cup: this time the needles made the holes, but not deep and tight enough, so that the hot water carried some grounds up over the top of the k-cup and then these grounds went down into the coffee.
But so far this happened on 1 of the 10 k-cups I used, and the amount of ground in the coffee was very small, so this is not a deal breaker. I remember this happened from time to time with our old original Keurig machine that we had several years ago, we could live with this.
So, my general verdict is, this Ninja coffee maker is very nice – definitely the best that I owned so far. It’s not cheap, but I think for me it will worth it over time, if it proves to be durable.
I have purchased many pod coffee makers, regular coffee makers, very expensive specialty coffee makers, and 2 Keurig K Duo Plus 12-Cup Single Serve and Carafe Coffee Maker. I really loved my Keurig, used it a lot with my large family.
They averaged about 2 years use before their end of “coffee life”. When I saw this Ninja Dual Brew Pro maker I decided to give it a try. WOW, I love it! It is very easy to use and I love the Frother.
It froths quickly, in seconds, and when done you just twists it off, rinse, quick dry and put it back for the next time as your coffee finishes brewing. I have not tried brewing a pot of coffee yet, but based on the pod experience I am sure it will be just as good.
They only small complaint might be because of the three holes it punches into the pods for a better brew, I get a very minimal amount of coffee grinds in the bottom of my cup. Very slight, so it doesn’t bother me.
This also happened time from time with my Keurig maker. So overall, I love this Ninja Coffee maker and have highly recommended it to my family and friends, who also loved their coffee that I made with frothing flavored creamers and half & half (both reg & lite)! Best of all, I got all this for a better price then to replace my Keurig that I loved before this Ninja came along.
I also would have liked to be able to buy a service contract, but QVC said they didn’t offer one on this product. Hopefully it will last at least as long or longer then my Keurig’s did, average 2yrs.
but I use my coffee maker probably a lot more then the average home.
We are a family who drinks LOTS of coffee. Hot coffee. Our old, 14 cup brewer quit working. We decided to try this Ninja, with neat little attachments. The frother works great, but is messy if you’re planning on using it for more than one cup.
We place an empty juice glass under it to catch drips in between uses. We only use it on weekends, so it’s not an everyday thing. I think a separate, hand held frother is more practical, but if you like the idea of storing your frother ON your coffee maker, then you will appreciate this feature.
I like the removable water reservoir, it makes filling easier. The carafe lid frustrates me – sometimes it attaches quite easily, other times, it takes multiple twists to get it on, just the right way.
There are no indicators, or obvious markings to show exactly how to get it to attach in the right direction on the first try. The delay brew setting could be better. After your initial set up of: brew style, time to brew and how many ounces to brew; you have to press the “delay” button a minimum of FOUR times to set it.
So, every night, you will be pressing “delay” FOUR times. And, don’t rush through this – if you accidentally press it five times, you have to go through it again: delay/hour, minute, ounces, delay. You would think, with all the bells and whistles on this thing, you could set up the delay to work with the press of ONE button.
The k-cup adapter is nice. It’s an included accessory/attachment you will need to wash and store separately. I like the ability to set the full carafe aside (onto an oven mitt or other heat resistant surface) to brew a k-cup (you will need to insert the k-cup attachment) or “to-go” cup of any flavor and size (8, 10, 12, 15 or 18 ounces), then replace the carafe on the warming plate, back to warm.
I haven’t used the specialty coffee setting – I think it brews a 4 oz size – or the iced coffee setting. I haven’t had an issue with water leaking as some other reviewers have mentioned. I’ve only used the hot/boil water feature to warm up empty thermoses and warm up a sinkful of clean, cold dish washing soapwater.
I hand wash all the parts. I’ll mention, again, my dislike for the carafe lid; it has a tube or straw-like piece attached to the underside of it, to direct the brewed coffee down into the carafe?? – it’s weird, and a pain to wash.
You need a long, slender brush, like a reusable straw brush, to wash it. I think this coffee maker is probably better suited for people who use k-cups or don’t drink as much hot coffee as we do. Ideally, for us, a 14 cup carafe with a NORMAL lid would have been much better.
But, it brews quickly enough to make more coffee. I think it’s overpriced at $200. I wouldn’t say I LOVE this coffee maker. It does work well, but I think it’s just OK.
The Capresso 5-Cup Mini Drip Coffee Maker will help you start your morning right. Add ground coffee to the reusable GoldTone filter, fill your machine with water and you’re ready to brew. The LCD clock can be set to start brewing at your programmed time, so you have piping hot coffee as soon as you wake up.
A large showerhead with multiple spray nozzles provides even saturation of the ground coffee for a smooth, rich flavor. The mini carafe brews five 5-ounce cups (25-ounces) and is ideal for small spaces.
Internal water level indicator and glass carafe show markings for 1 to 5 cups so you can brew only what you need. A heating plate will keep your coffee hot for 2 hours before automatically turning off.
The drip stop allows you to grab a cup of coffee before brewing is complete. Stainless steel accents and sturdy construction make this coffee maker built to last. This compact and stylish design is the perfect coffee maker for college students, singles or small households.
The style is sleek and small so it will easily fit into a small space (apartments, RV’s etc). I like that it’s programmable, but prefer LED instead of LCD. The water indicator leveler is easy to use and easy to see, so no complaints there.
No issues with the carafe spilling so far. The warming plate could use some improvements. It’s a bit recessed and it ends up centering the pot under the basket, however this is a double edged sword. When you remove the pot mid-brew (which is a feature) the coffee gets all over the warming plate since the lid is a dome shape and it’s a tight fit.
It allows coffee to run over the sides before it can be removed fully or put back fully. So this can be a messy situation. The clock was difficult to set, but I got it and its a little hard to see seeing as its LCD.
One of my biggest pet peeves is that the on & off button is also used for the timer. So if you don’t happen to use the timer it can be a little bit of an annoyance when going to turn it off because you have to make sure to press the button twice to actually turn it off.
Overall it’s a three star product because it does its job but can definitely use some improvements to get rid of the minor annoyances and make the process for mid-brew easier and less messy.
I bought this little coffee maker a few months ago. I’m the only coffee drinker in the house and the size is perfect for the one or two cups I drink daily. I have had two of the very inexpensive Black and Decker models over the years, and decided to treat myself to the Capresso, which is twice the price.
It looks nice on the counter, and I was attracted by the description that this model makes very hot coffee. I had read that one of the problems with automatic drip makers is that they don’t heat the water sufficiently to extract flavor from the grounds.
The problem is that the coffee frequently, though not always, tastes “burned”. It’s a real mystery why this happens. I’ve tried using filtered water instead of tap water, made sure the unit was clean and rinsed, opened a fresh bag of coffee – all to no avail.
Many years ago when I was in college I had an electric pronged gizmo that sat in a cup to heat the water for tea or instant coffee. When it was failing, the water tasted “burned”. That’s what this coffee tastes like.
yuk! I’m tossing this thing and returning to the Black & Decker I guess.
Just like everything you purchase almost always “nothing is what it seems” or “nothing is what the seller(s) push you to believe” but, I get it, it’s their job to have to promote an item, but why overdue it is beyond me, because guess what? Back it goes if it’s not what you waisted an hour or more to promote it.
Let’s talk about this coffee machine. I got it home and the first thing that came to mind was “it’s a toy”; however, I will explain after my first thought of it, that it is true that it will fit anywhere you wish in your home, trailer, etc.
,, way, and I mean way smaller than I ever thought, I did not want a big one since I use it sparingly, I am more of an espresso drinker but I enjoy a cup of American coffee as well. I think they could have thrown in the box a coffee scooper, they are cheap anyways but it would have been a nice thing to have added to it.
The gold filter, I wouldn’t even bother with it, another disappointment, but, one of the reasons as to why I bought this coffee machine, no need for paper filter, if you want better coffee, use the paper filter and better for cleaning purposes anyways.
The other thing is that it was a headache to set the clock, finally got it, but a headache nevertheless. Also, and quite important I think, this coffee machine although it states that it will make up to 5 cups of coffee, it all depends as to how much coffee you like to drink and how full you like your cup to be for the home or to take with you, the measurement for this machine are wrong.
If you like a full cup of coffee and possibly two of them, you will need to make the whole pot of coffee, the measurements are more European measurements then for American coffee. I personally don’t like a full cup but I still have to measure it to 3 cups to get a full cup of coffee and I won’t get a second one or very little of it.
5 full cups of coffee, no way. If you have someone visiting, one extra person by the way, prepare to make 2 pots of coffee, one pot won’t do if you want at least 2 cups of coffee each. Overall, it’s ok, not great, and I do think overprized for what you don’t get, and what you get is NOT exactly what it’s advertised to be, cheap material.
Enjoy great coffee simply made with the new Mr Coffee 5-cup programmable coffeemaker. The Mr Coffee 5-cup programmable coffeemaker makes up to 25 oz of coffee, perfect for two 12 oz cups! It’s newly designed carafe with ounce markings take the guess work out of measuring.
The compact design fits nicely into small spaces. Brew now or later options to allow you to set brewing ahead of time and wake up to freshly brewed coffee. It’s also equipped with a Grab- A-Cup auto pause feature that allows you to stop the brewing cycle to pour a cup and then continue brewing until complete.
After 2 hours the coffeemaker will automatically shut off. All you need to do is sit back, sip and enjoy!.
Delicious coffee, made easy. The BLACK+DECKER 5-cup coffeemaker gets going with the flip of a switch, heating water to the optimal temperature for full flavor extraction. Coffee brews into the improved 5-cup duralife glass carafe, which is engineered for comfortable handling and drip-free pouring.
I bought this Black & Decker coffee maker about a month ago. So far I am happy with it. Just be sure to note that there is NOT a warming plate. That didn’t concern me because I drink my coffee slowly and even with a warming plate, I always heat my milk so no big deal to pour lukewarm coffee in my cup along with cold milk and microwave it.
It’s just me here drinking coffee so no big deal. However, the glass container is very fragile and glass is thin. I knocked the glass carafe on a glass and it shattered the carafe into a lot of little pieces – after only 3 weeks of purchasing.
I’m a bit disappointed in this purchase. It makes very good coffee, but has features that are frustrating. First, there are too many pieces. I wanted something simple: a carafe, a place to put water & coffee, and a good warming plate.
Second, the space for filling water and the on/off button are all over on the left side. I’m right-handed, so that’s not convenient. Lastly, the first cup of coffee is nice and hot; but after that, the warming plate seems to cool down and the coffee as well.
Had a 5 cup coffee maker for ages that finally kicked the bucket, my husband picked this one up a couple of weeks ago at the local Walmart. Pros: – I like the carafe, overall this coffee maker seems sturdy.
– Nice for people brewing direct into a thermos or mug (not a feature we use, but I can see that being a benefit to some). Cons: – Bulky compared to my last small one (would not recommend for travel).
Almost the size of my old 12 cup, just a little shorter. – Our biggest issue is – and we have experimented a lot with this – no matter what the coffee grinds ALWAYS end up in the carafe, Tried different filters, different amounts of coffee etc.
, I am not talking a little bit of grinds either. Coffee grinds end up sticking to the inside of the filter area, that isn’t easy to clean out. There seems to be some sort of design flaw or maybe we just got a lemon; almost seems like too much water going into filter at once.
Other -No hot plate, this could be a pro or con depending on the person/usage.
The Hamilton Beach 5 Cup Compact Coffee Maker with Programmable Clock features a compact design, while making the perfect amount of coffee for your everyday needs. It’s perfect for small kitchens, apartments, and any place where you’d like to conserve counter space.
It’s programmable and is packed with many great features you’d expect to find in a full-size coffee maker. It easily fits under kitchen cabinets with room to spare. The FrontFill water reservoir and swing-out brew basket make it easy to add water and coffee grounds without making a mess.
Programming is simple, too. Easy-Touch programming lets you set the coffee maker up to 24 hours ahead for fresh, hot coffee when you wake in the morning. Customize the strength of your coffee to suit your tastes with the Select-a-Brew brew-strength selector.
AutoPause & Pour stops the flow of coffee when removing the carafe from the coffee maker for pouring. The programmable coffee maker automatically turns off after 2 hours for peace of mind. The easy-view water-level window has clear markings to show the exact water level as you fill the water reservoir for precise and easy filling.
The sleek black and stainless steel design complements any kitchen decor.
I liked the design on this coffee maker but even after washing everything possible when I first got it and running 3 cycles of just water through it as directed, the coffee tasted like plastic, even after several actual pots of coffee made later.
I really didn’t want to give up on it so I ran a cycle of vinegar and water mixture through it, wiped every piece of plastic I could reach with vodka and then ran 6 more cycles of just clean water through it.
I am happy now. coffee tastes great! I would have chosen 5 stars if I hadn’t had to go through so much trouble to begin with for a good tasting cup of coffee but that said, I highly recommend this coffee maker.
I was a die hard Mr Coffee fan, but Mr Coffee is not what it used to be. Quality and durability is gone. I switched to Hamilton Beach because I have a few Hamilton Beach products and very pleased with all of them.
This coffee maker is fast, brews a good cup of coffee and is the perfect counter size. I saw some negative reviews, however, I am very pleased with my coffee maker. I ran clear water three times before using and washed the glass carafe, and it made a perfect pot of coffee.
I also like the fact that the unit shuts down after a couple of hours. Very happy with this purchase,.
to the Just Ok. I noticed that too. A solution that worked for me is to add more coffee grinds. The cone shape is like a V so the majority of the coffee is brewed downward. Producing a stronger tasting coffee.
A basket filter is more spread out, so it has more area to cover. In using the same amount of grinds for the basket as in the V cone it may seem flatter or weaker because the basket needs more. More coffee makes, A Stronger Taste.

Enjoy your favorite blend any day with Holstein Housewares 5CUP Coffee Maker!.
We love our 5 cup, especially the color Yellow. So cheerful on my counter. It makes 2 mugs (12 oz) which is enough for us early a. m. then another pot at lunchtime. You can use paper filters or just the mesh permanent, your choice,I use both.
There is NO wasted coffee. Cleaning is so simple. Worth the wait. Price reasonable.
Update. Didn’t last longer than a couple of months. Very cute. Exactly as pictured. Off and on switch. Does not automatically shut off after time. Very lightweight. Serves mu purpose as I only drink 1.
5 cups of coffee/day. I do wish it was more sturdy but I also didn’t want to pay a lot of money either.
I am single so I did not want a bulky 12 cup coffee pot. This 5 cup is the perfect size in the event I have a guest over to my home. It does not take up a lot of counter space. The red pot goes nicely with the other red appliances I already have in my kitchen.
Enjoy coffee brewed just the way you like it with Black & Decker’s 12-cup programmable coffee maker. Vortex technology evenly saturates coffee grounds for full and rich flavor extraction using optimal water temperatures.
You can even slow down the brewing process for a stronger cup of coffee.
I bought this same coffee pot about a year ago. It works great and I like that the coffee stays hot up to 2 hours (I didn’t realize it could go that high, I thought it could only go up to 90 minutes).
I’m replacing it now because I just cracked the carafe. My only complaint is that, even though it has a built in auto cleaner and you have to clean it after every 60 brews, it starts telling you it’s time to clean it after about 30 brews.
It doesn’t show you a count of how many were made so far and I didn’t realize at first that you could continue brewing more times, so as soon as I’d see the “Clean” message start showing I’d end up going through the cleaning process which was annoying.
It seemed like I had to clean it every couple of weeks. To clean it you have wash your carafe first, then brew 6 cups of water and 4 cups of vinegar which takes about 30 minutes, then it takes another 10 minutes or so to rinse the pot by brewing it with 12 cups of clean water.
Then you have to wash the carafe again. Other than that, I really like this coffee maker. Since it’s sleek, it takes less space on my counter and it makes delicious coffee.
I bought this new version of the B&D coffee maker with the Vortex technology. It truely makesa a great cup of coffee. I set it for the dtrong brew, and the cofffee is always good. Now for the bad part.
First, as soon as the clean reminder happened, I did a cleaning cycle. Worked OK the first time, went through about a quarter of the pot, then sat and continues the cycle as described in the manual. Next time it needed to be cleaned, the unit shut itselt off at the break point in the cleaning cycle.
I had to turn on a brew cycle to finish processing the water in the resevoir. Then, it started to shift to the 120 warming timer long before the full pot of coffee was brewed. This continued to happen so I returned the unit for a new one.
This second one started doing the same thing after about a month. Most times, the pot is about a quarter done when the 120 minute countdown starts. I am sure this has to do with the chip in the unit, as the pot of cofffee brews if you just tunr it on, takes about 15 minutes, and then you get about 100 minutes on the warmer timer.
Seeing I have seen this happen on my two, and a friends unit also, they are likely all like this. B&D needs to check into thier program in the processor and fix this very anoying issue.
This is our second coffee maker of this model. The first one lasted a little over a year of two brew pots a day before it just stopped working. Figured we’d gotten our worth. I like that it lets you know when it’s time to clean it with vinegar and water.
Makes a decent pot of coffee. It will be a year in two months since we bought this one. Accidentally broke the glass carafe this morning. Fortunately, we had kept the original carafe from the old pot.
$29 just to replace the carafe is a bit much. Glad we saved the old one. This model is currently out of stock. Not sure if it will be replaced.
Choose your brew! This 4-in-1 coffeemaker brews into a standard mug, a tall travel mug, a 5-cup* carafe, and it works for pour over coffee. The adjustable stand allows for brewing versatility, and the unique, removable brew basket lets you control the strength of your coffee when making a pour over into a mug or carafe.
The improved carafe is designed for comfortable handling and drip-free pouring, and the lid is removable for easy cleaning. Plus, you get a 14-oz. stainless steel travel mug for taking your coffee to go.
It is excellent coffee station and does fit a small house hold of 3-4 easily. The product is easy to unbox and assemble. It says 5 cup, but serves 4 regular coffee cups/mug portions. May be a little smaller portion could make it 5 cup.
The water gets heated in 10-12 mins when making for 4 persons. The filter is very easy to use adn easy to clean. No mess at all. The brewed coffee comes out very hot even with this 10-12 mins time. I even tried making tea using the tea bags and it came excellent.
You just need to place the tea bag in it and it brews effectively. We liked a lot, however there is 1 drawback. There is no indicator to tell if the coffee is ready. You need keep checking until it is ready.
A few checks helped us to figure out the time it could approximately take. As mentioned in the product, it is suitable and fits the 4 sizes.
Black +Decker 4-in-1 coffee station is a pretty basic one cup coffee maker. Even though it has a 5 cup coffee pot there is no hot plate to keep the coffee warm. So for me that was a downside because my coffee got cold before I could finish the coffee in the pot.
If your looking for one cup at a time coffee maker this is a nice little coffee maker. The coffee make has a adjustable stand to accommodate the coffee pot and the different size coffee cups. It has a lighted on/off switch and a easy view water window which is really nice.
This coffee maker comes with a permanent filter basket. You can not use k-cups with this coffee maker. The coffee maker is small and does not take up Alot of room. So it’s great if you don’t have Alot of counter room.
This 4-in-1 coffee station would also be nice for a Dorm room or a Home office.
Program this high-end Bonavita coffee maker for up to 8 cups of coffee whenever you need it. The Bonavita BV1902DW also includes a non-stick heating plate that heats your coffee for up to 40 minutes before automatically turning off.
Other features include the pre-infusion mode for the most ideal coffee taste, large showerhead for consistent brewing and an easy-to-use digital display.
I’ve tried a number of coffee makers with good reviews in the past, and found they all failed me. Quality-wise, they often failed me, either being defective or suddenly having a turn for the worse in regard to flavour due to who-knows-what kind of reason.
I drink my coffee black, so balanced and representative flavour is what I am after. I wanted something as close to my local coffee shop brewing, with the same beans I love, and this one finally got me near perfect.
Before taking the dive on this one, I did my research and this one (BV1901TS, which is the newer model) was featured in almost every list I could find. Reviews always seemed stellar, but I am also pretty skeptical of typical internet lists.
After a few days of mulling it over, I decided to give it a go anyways. I made the right decision. Saturation of beans is very good. Heat is perfect. The carafe is simply and efficiently designed (great thermals and insulation), and is easy to clean.
The taste is fantastic for automatic brewer, near-perfect replica of a good cafe. This was a massive upgrade over what I had bean used to and absolutely worth the money. I can easily recommend this one.
I was disappointed to pull this out of the box and find the reservoir measures by cups instead of liters, which is what the product photo on the website shows and was one of the main reasons I went for the Bonavita – so not a great start.
Nearly all coffee recipes use milliliters, so to measure by cups is disappointing for me, not to mention they make it difficult to convert (a standard cup is 8 oz but Bonavita says “their cup” is 5 oz).
Further complicating things is the chart in the instruction manual that “converts” the 6 and 8 cup lines to mL; it gives you 1000 mL for the 6 cup line and 1300 mL for the 8 cup line, neither of which fit their 5 oz/cup standard.
I assume the change is to fit the American “standard” of using cups rather than fitting the coffee world’s standard of mL, but the original design filled both needs and it’s disappointing that they’ve gone away from that.
As far as the coffee goes, it brews decent coffee. Given the awkward water measurements, I am still working on finding the right ratio, so that may be part of the issue but the flavor has underwhelmed so far.
It’s good, and better than the old Mr. Coffee models I used years ago, but so far not as good as my V60. For the convenience, it does okay.
So disappointed with this coffeemaker. This is my second Bonavita, when the first one died, I bought the connoisseur model. My main complaint is that the coffee is not hot enough and the carafe does not keep the coffee hot at all.
The temperature I measured right after brewing is 165 degrees Fahrenheit and loses heat quickly. When I complained to them, they just offered excuses that were irrelevant. So I do not recommend this coffeemaker at all and my next purchase will be a different brand altogether.
Fill up your Cuisinart Coffee on Demand 12 Cup Programmable Coffeemaker once, and enjoy fresh-brewed cups throughout the day! This incredible carafe-free coffeemaker uses unique Coffee on Demand technology to brew cup by cup, ensuring fresh hot coffee is always on hand.
With the removable water reservoir, Coffee Gauge counting down cups remaining, 24-hour programmability, and adjustable auto shutoff. Fresh coffee has never been so convenient!.
We love our Cuisinart 12 Cup Coffee Maker. More importantly, the brewed coffee is delicious! Place your cup on the tray, and a watch your cup fill up under the lighted lever. It is easy to take apart to make the coffee, and the water reservoir is sturdy and clear.
The coffee is much hotter than our previous Hamilton Beach. Don’t forget to set it for 4 hours! I ordered additional charcoal water filters, to change the recommended every 30 days. However, Cuisinart, the weirdest thing is the very short power cord.
But no matter, I ordered a short 2 ft black extension that gives me the length to pull the coffee maker from under the counter to make the coffee. Another weird thing was the basket for the coffee has a handle that actually interferes as you dump the grounds into the trash.
I removed the handle and it’s still easy to remove and empty. Even for these flaws, it produces the best tasting coffee. You will not regret your purchase.
I am disappointed with my purchase. I thought I could fill the water reservoir and then program the machine for how many cups of coffee I wanted to brew. That way I would t have to fill the reservoir every day before making coffee.
This is not the case as all the water gets used as I found out the first time I went to make my 4 cups of coffee. Another disappointing feature is all the crevices and angles of the coffee holding area.
Makes it very difficult to clean. Also when you lift the lid to pull the coffee grounds and coffee reservoir out to clean, water left from the top of the lid runs down into the heated area where the coffee reservoir goes.
So you have to make sure you wipe out that area before replacing everything. I wish I would have purchased another brand.
I love the design because no pods are required. Eliminating all the plastic choking our oceans is very important to me. I gave 4 rather than 5 stars because the basket always over flows, leaving grounds scattered outside the basket.
Grounds also accumulate on the inside of the top where the water dispenses over the grounds. This happens even when only 4 cups are brewed. I havent brewed 12 yet but assume a bigger mess of grounds would be the result.
I think the basket is too small to hold all the water and grounds as it is brewing + a larger one would elimate this problem. Other than that this issue, love dispensing one cup at a time during the day.
Brews quickly + stays warm for the 6 hours I have set it to be on.
Make Mornings More Caffeinated With the Cuisinart 12-cup Coffee On Demand coffee maker you can drink your first cup of coffee without spilling a drop-no matter how tired you feel. Simply program this coffee maker up to 24 hours in advance and wake up to fresh-brewed coffee stored in the brewer’s double-walled reservoir.
Coffee is neatly dispensed, cup by cup, at the push of a button. You can tell at a glance how much coffee is left on the easy-to-read Coffee Gauge.
This coffee maker works well. I previously owned another brand that was similar to this one but developed a leak. I decided to upgrade to Cuisinart with better features. The other machine developed a “sometime” leak.
That is it would sometimes leak but not every time it was used. When it did the counter would be covered in water. I have other Cuisinart products that are excellent quality. This product has a lot of nice features I like.
It may not seem like an important feature but the light over the pouring area is very nice. If you have cups with dark insides you will know the importance. It has easy to read and use features that are not complicated.
The Moccamaster cup-one is a pod free, Single serve, coffeemaker. The cup-one features a specially designed brew-basket to steep Coffee and produces a 10oz cup in just four minutes. The cup-one has a removable cup holder which allows you to fit different size Cups under the brew-basket.
Once the cup-one has completed a brew cycle, The Coffee brewer shuts off for your convenience. All Moccamaster Coffee Brewers are handmade in the Netherlands and backed by an industry leading 5-year.
I had a similar issue as one reviewer below with aligning the rectangular piece that water flows through and the carafe (which is fragile thin glass) (custom carafe to this machine). I similarly had coffee all over the floor a number of times, but finally figured out the alignment and that the basket must sit flat, and you must make sure it is all the way seated down, in the platform.
The water reservoir is flimsy plastic, and it is cool that you can watch the boiling water, but when I moved, it broke, and it was $99 to fix it. Not really complaining, though, since it makes really great coffee.
It was worth all the above trouble for the better tasting coffee, in my opinion. Not sure why, but it definitely is better coffee than the backup Oxo and even my old Bonavita, over which I finally had to say last rites to.
The Bonavita was probably a good compromise (not as satisfied with the backup Oxo machine, but it worked while the Moccamaster went to rehab). The Moccamaster is really a master at making coffee, and I would rate it 5 stars, if it weren’t for the plastic reservoir and fragile glass carafe, and its finicky nature until you figure it out.
The Technivorm Moccamaster Cup One made the top of almost every review I read so it made the buying decision pretty easy. But what I didn’t anticipate was just how good a cup of coffee could taste. I’ve been using a Jura superautomatic for years and wanted something simpler and easier to make one cup at a time.
It’s amazing how simplifying the brewing process makes the other independent variables stand out and how easy it is to dial them in. Two independent variables. Beans and grind. I went back to a couple of my favorite super dark roast beans to use as a control.
It was downright amazing how changing the grind size contributed or took away from the final product. After some trial and error I got the grind size down so I’m back to experimenting with beans. Very, very cool.
The best cup of coffee from a non-espresso machine I’ve ever enjoyed. Super build. Super warranty. Simple perfection.
Absolutely fantastic. Hands down the best drip coffee maker on the market with the history and craftsmanship to back it up. Technivorm is built to last. Each part is replaceable and high quality. The coffee is perfect every time due to the copper heating element.
Impeccable. I love my morning Moccamaster ritual. Buy a coffee grinder and scale to accompany. Also Moccamaster filters and descaling tablets.
Features: 2 easy-fill reservoirs and easy-view water windows Single brewing side lets you brew into a cup or 8″ tall travel mug. Carafe side with programmable timer and auto shutoff. Bold or regular brew strength options.
Brew a full pot of coffee the way you always have. Easy-fill reservoir and water window. Programmable timer with 2 hour automatic shutoff Automatic pause serve. Brews up to 10 oz. with K-Cup pack or 14 oz.
This is the best coffee maker for the price! Love the dual features. You can make a single cup with a pod (takes standard Keurig style ones) but it also comes with a reusable pod that you can add your own grinds to.
Like the full carafe side, the volume of the single pod is determined by the amount of water you dump into that side (goes up to 12oz). The bottom of the single side is removable for taller travel mugs.
The machine is incredibly easy to use with only a few buttons for programming and it takes just a few minutes to brew a cup. The only downfall is that you have to pour water into the top at each use, so if you have this under an overhanging cabinet you have to pull it all the way out to fill up.
Also the tops of the water cover part has warped a bit with heat but nothing too bad. Overall excellent machine.
I really love this coffee maker. It has so many easy to use features such as bold or regular strength, k cup or ground and one cup side or choose to use the pot. This maker is expensive at full price but, I got an amazing deal at Khols before Christmas and only paid around $65 for this almost $200 maker! I wish someone would invent throw away small filters for ground k cups.
I hate cleaning the reusable filters. Take note though that the pot side only uses throw away filters and doesn’t come with any starter filters, a to go cup or sample coffee. So be sure to buy filters if you do decide to buy.
This maker also has a huge plus, it makes very, very hot coffee. I’ve never had a maker that makes coffee this hot. It’s a plus for me!.
I have had this coffee pot/k-cup making station a few months shy of 2 years and I’ve never had any issues with it. I’ve made many k-cup coffees and even loaded the reusable k-cup that you can load with any coffee on that side, never had any problems with it.
If the pin that goes into the k-cup starts looking a little dingy, I just wash everything in hot soapy dish water. I’ve used the regular coffee pot side a lot too and I even brew my tea for making a gallon of sweet tea in it.
I love the programmable feature where you can have ready to drink coffre when you wake up at whatever time, the fact that you can adjust the brew strength, you can use a tall to go coffee cup in the k-cup side by just removing the piece where a regular size cup would sit and you can make either 1 serving or a whole pot.
For the value, quality and functions compared to other more expensive name brands that do exactly the same thing, this was a great buy and actually the best coffee maker I’ve ever owned.
I have only had this coffeemaker for a couple of weeks. So far it is working fine. It is easy to program and is quite quiet when brewing compared to other brands. My only complaints are that the carafe feels very fragile and normal size filters are too large.
You can use them by bending them over the top of the back of the coffee holder otherwise they get folded down when you shut the filter holder. The smaller paper filters are not sold in stores in my area so have to be ordered on line.
Ideal for coffee aficionados, this coffee maker delivers the quality and performance that fans of Bonavitas innovative brewers have come to expect in a smaller package thats great for a few cups at a time.
Impeccably engineered to deliver a balanced cup, this compact coffee machine is the perfect addition to your morning routine. Manufacturer: Bonavita. Model: BV1500TS. Includes: Unit, carafe. Material: BPA free plastic, stainless steel.
Care: Hand wash carafe. Descale regularly following manufacturers instructions. Use: For use with #4 cone shaped filters. Dimensions: 12. 3″ x 6. 2″ x 10. 6″. Capacity: 25 oz. Watts: 1100 W. Made in China.
FEATURES: 1100 watt thermal block heater, quickly and efficiently raises water to the ideal brewing temperature. Engineered to deliver the perfect brew in smaller batches of three to five cups. Specially designed showerhead completely saturates the grounds and is optimized for small batches.
Optional pre-infusion mode wets coffee to allow proper bloom before brewing. Water tank features a wide opening and clear markings for precise measuring. Heater shuts off automatically a few minutes after brewing.
Carafes trigger lid ensures mess-free, one-handed pouring.
I love the low profile size, and the fact that it makes a perfect cup of coffee, at 25 oz capacity. This is needed for someone who wants to make a great pot of coffee, but not for a crowd. And the price is amazingly affordable.
There are people who complain that the thermal carafe keeps a few ounces of fluid retained, but it is really a negligible amount. Some complain it leaks; it has not for me. The Carafe keeps the coffee at an acceptable heat for about 1 hour, so perfect for a one hour relax-time.
I’d buy it again, without hesitation. And the BBB 20% coupon makes the deal even better!.
I expected so much more from Bonavita. I was originally looking at the 8-cup BV1900TS, but thought the 5-cup would work better as I most often only prepare coffee for myself. But this unit is no better than some generic discount, crappy coffeemaker.
I purchased the Bonavita specifically for its ability to get water to a precise and ideal brewing temperature, and pre-soak beans before brewing. But once brewed, the water temperature decreases steadily; one would think the Coffee Brewer would have a heating element which could evenly maintain coffee temperature.
Instead, if I slow down my drinking pace, I have to microwave or otherwise reheat now tepid coffee that’s sitting in the carafe. Further, the design of the carafe is bafflingly awful. The rim of the carafe, rather than facilitating easy pouring of all the brewed coffee, has a lip around the edge that actively prevents the last 1/4-1/2 cup of coffee from being poured out; the same thing happens with lingering water when you wash out the carafe.
I have to dry the inside of the carafe manually every time. It also doesn’t pour well; coffee leaks down the side of the carafe when pouring. What a complete waste of money!.
I don’t drink that much coffee—just 2 or 3 cups in the morning— but I want a good non-bitter, low acid brew. Grinding fresh Sumatra or equal quality beans gives me a low acid coffee; brewing it at around 200° for less than seven minutes with an efficient showerhead(and no hot plate) makes it robust but non-bitter.
The Bonavita essentially got that job done, but with annoying quirks and none of the features offered in like-priced competition. Quirks: Due to the design of the plastic collar on the stainless steel carafe, all the liquid CANNOT be emptied.
The brew basket of grounds sits in the carafe. It must be removed and the lid screwed on before pouring. The unit must be left plugged in to retain the “soaking” option when selected. Lack of features: No clock; no delayed brewing.
Pretty much an off-on switch. I am returning this unit, and probably will buy a Behmor Brazen Plus(adjusrable temperature control), a Zojirushi Fresh Brew Plus(24 hour timer delay and brew & pause) or a Bunn Velocity Brew(basic, no frills coffee maker), all comparably priced.
The refurbishing process includes functionality testing, basic cleaning, inspection, and repackaging. Separate water reservoirs. Each brewer has its own water reservoir thats easy to fill and features a water window, so you always know which brewer has how much water.
I always had just a keurig, but wanted to make pot/drip coffee. On the weekends me and my husband both drink several cups of coffee and we were using so many kcups it was such a waste. We found this Hamilton Beach 2 in and 1 and couldn’t be happier.
Love that we have both options and it is an all in 1. I hate clutter and having to many appliances so this was a perfect find. I love everything about this coffee pot and k cup machine except the fact that it doesn’t have a thermal coffee pot.
I wish this model I purchased included the thermal pot so it keeps the coffee hot for longer. I also can’t purchase the thermal pot separately which is annoying. That would be the only downfall of this 2 in 1.

Was a good little coffee maker, first one lasted 9 years. It is called “5 cups” but it really makes 2 big mugs full which is enough (no one else in my house drinks coffee). Got another brand as a replacement but it is terrible.
Disappointed. My last coffee maker was a better quality and cost less. Always leaves a little coffee in part where coffee drains into urn and drops on counter when removed to clean. Have used Black and Decker for years.
This small coffee maker works fine. It brews the full carafe (5 cups) in about 5/6 min. which is averege time for most machines( 1min. per cup). The only drawback was it doesn’t have the pause feature but, for the price it works out.
Start your busy morning with this five-cup Bella Pro coffee maker. Its pause and serve feature lets you quickly grab a cup before it finishes brewing, and the keep warm function lets you enjoy a second hot cup when you re done with the first.
Pour without spills thanks to the easy flow carafe spout of this Bella Pro coffee maker.
The BLACK+DECKER 5-Cup Coffeemaker, Black, DCM600B was ordered to replace a similar Black & Decker 5 cup coffee maker I have. The previous coffee maker carafe was dropped & broke, and I decided to buy this one.
The major difference is that the older coffee maker did not a hot plate built-in, and thus could not keep coffee hot after it had been brewed. This is just a basic hot-plate coffee maker that holds 5 cups (6 oz each) of coffee.
We have owned various coffee makers over the years from large 12 cup makers, percolators, Keurig, and other types dependent on the year and type we wanted. This can be said up-front, without any bias whatsoever,.
this Black & Decker coffee maker produces better-tasting coffee than any of the other types we have used. Obviously, the type of coffee used can make a difference, but overall we use this make as our everyday coffee maker.
It makes 3 cups (6 oz each) of my wife’s regular coffee quickly, and then it makes my 5 cups of decaf. The coffee pot is small, light, and easy to wash. We use unbleached coffee filters, but smaller wire mesh filters are good too.
Both are acceptable. Another asset to this coffee maker is that it can be used in a travel situation without taking up too much weight or space. If there is a negative to this coffee maker, then it might be the materials used in the product.
The plastic in the coffee maker is much thinner than in the previous Black and Decker. This is just an observation and not necessarily something that reduces the quality of the product. The other positive about this product is that it is inexpensive at about $26.
00. BOTTOM LINE: I would buy this product again without hesitation. We don’t need a large, bulky, coffee maker for our morning coffee, and this Black & Decker definitely fits our needs. We have been down the road with the much pricier, 1 cup insert makers, the pressurized coffee makers, and others,.
It works awesome! I love that it’s compatible with my Alexa Echo Dot. I had a bigger, better coffee maker that was fully programmable and had safety features, but unfortunately those safety features prevented it from working with a smart plug.
I like that this one brews the coffee hotter, but make sure to serve it right away or it will scald. It’s pretty simple and doesn’t have all the bells & whistles, just an on & off switch. Don’t buy this if you’re the type to forget to turn off your coffee maker, as this doesn’t have safety or auto shut off settings.
To avoid this I turn it off immediately before pouring. As someone stated, pouring can be a challenge, but that’s only because you have to do it very slowly to avoid spills. The one thing I HATE about this is it definitely has a slightly plastic taste to the coffee.
Someone else mentioned this, and I’m hoping it will go away with time. I’ve used it everyday for a month and it’s still there. It’s definitely concerning, so I’m going to try running a cleansing solution through it.
I’ll update this review if that ends up working. It’s also a bit loud while brewing, but I use it at home so that’s not a big deal. To save money you can still use regular size filters, instead of the small cone ones.
You’ll have to adapt the filter by folding it in half, then almost in half again, to form a cone. It comes with a reusable one, but those can be a pain and others stated that it leaves coffee grounds in their cup of coffee.
I am comparing this against a Black & Decker 5-Cup coffee maker that I bought for $9. 95 at Big Lots. I had bought this Bella coffee maker only for the stainless steel looks, but I’m switching back to using the Black & Decker, for the following reasons: 1) The carafe of the Bella is unusable.
I simply can not pour with it without spilling, even if I try hard. This is no issue at all with the B&D. 2) The reusable filter is too coarse for the coffee I use (cafe bustelo, relatively fine grind).
But when I use a paper filter, the cone shape makes the drip slow and taste differently. The B&D has a flat (round) filter type and brews much faster (also because it does not have a drip stop, which can be considered good or bad).
3) for some reason I tend to overlook the illuminated power switch on this one (because of the protector around it) and already left it on over night once. 4) the heater plate on this one is not as easy to clean, because I can stick a couple fingernails in between plate and plastic housing.
There is absolutely no gap at all on the B&D. In short, I would not recommend the Bella, not even for $10.
Enjoy great coffee simply made with the Mr. It makes up to 25 oz. of coffee, just right for two 12 oz. cups, and the compact design fits nicely into small spaces. The updated, ergonomic carafe design with ounce markings takes the guesswork out of measuring.
Brew Now or Later options to allow you to set brewing ahead of time and wake up to freshly brewed coffee, and Grab-A-Cup Auto Pause allows you to stop the brewing cycle to pour a cup, then continue brewing until complete.
After 2 hours, the coffee maker will automatically shut off. All you need to do is sit back, sip, and enjoy!.
Coffee filter holder is too small for typical 4-cup filters (two inches), so the filter always folds inward. About one in five times, the water pushes a side down, which causes overflowing coffee grounds.
So annoying! Called the customer support number to figure out what size filter to use, and the lady said that a 5-cup filter was recommended. (Never seen such a size. ) After I pressed for specific brand recommendations, she gave me the number for official coffee filters, but the person on that number had no recommendation, either.
She said they get calls every week about this problem! My solution is removing the device lid, and watching the brewing process to ensure the filter sides do not fall into the water. Incredible that this obvious design issue continues to exist.
Just like a tin-can lid, a bigger circle is never going into a smaller circular hole without folding. I had been using two different 4-cup mr. coffee machines for over a decade. They were simple, affordable, and brewed good coffee.
My experience with this 5-cup has been so disheartening, as cleaning coffee grounds out of the machine is the worst.
The conclusion of the 5 cup programmable coffee maker is that it is a great coffee maker for those who want to have fresh coffee at home without having to go through the hassle of making it themselves.
This coffee maker is also great for those who want to be able to control how strong their coffee is, as well as how much coffee they want to make at one time.
