20 Best 3Ds Games Under 10 Dollars
1. Minecraft [Nintendo 3DS]
Create and explore your very own world where the only limit is what you can imagine.
Includes five skin packs and two texture packs to customize your gameplay!
Use the touch screen to check your map or manage your inventory!
It is a game about placing blocks and going on adventures. Only playable on a New Nintendo 3-DS. Explore randomly generated worlds and build amazing things from the simplest of homes to the grandest of castles.
I honestly hated Minecraft when I first tried it a few years ago on Xbox. It felt tedious, confusing, and hard to discern what was what due to the pixelated graphics. Decided to give it another go on the Switch and now I can’t put it down.
The graphics are way better on the Switch, and I feel like the overall gameplay experience is much better than it was on Xbox. I wanted to play solo, and was very pleased to be able to do so w/o making a Microsoft account.
It loads up impressively fast and is ideal for those who love creating. If you don’t love combat, I recommend the Survival Mode set on Easy. That way you have the monsters (who give important loot) but you aren’t killed every two seconds.
Also, this is a game for those who like some grind. I’m currently building a big fort and it’s taking an age, but I love it. There are a zillion options and while the in game help is limited, there is an ocean of info online.
The game does have a text only help manual you can read up on, but your brain hits overload pretty quick. So this is a learn as you go game. You learn something, use that tool/concept for a while, then look up something new and add that in.
Loads of fun, great for chilling out, yet really gives you that satisfying sense of productivity as you see your buildings forming and your processes becoming more efficient. There are epic challenges for those who want that, and there’s no rule that you have to stay put.
It’s an open world, so you can explore forever without bothering with a home base. Or you can build your own ultimate home base which you later transport villagers into. Or you can just join one of the established villages that exist in the world.
The other NPCs don’t dialogue with you, they just make noises, offer you trades, show some degree of emotion, and/or try to kill you, lol. It’s a huge learning curve, but there are plenty of rewards along the way so you can take your time.
If you don’t like the place you start in, find a better spot or just launch a new world. Each world is randomly generated. I find the detail easier to see with the Switch in my hands as opposed to squinting at a TV monitor.
And if like me, you have no sense of direction, then be sure to make yourself some paths and landmarks so you can keep track of how to get home! But worst case scenario, you can always rebuild from scratch because it’s such an open, open world.
In 2021 this version probably isnt worth it if you want it as your main version of Minecraft, but its interesting to have in your collection if you get a good deal. This version came out before the Better Together update was released and is not supported anymore for updates.
The controls are better than I thought though, and its still fun even if its limited by the graphical and technical capabilities of the N3ds. If you want the latest version of Minecraft though, I would definitely get it on mobile if you are looking for an accessibility way to play.
About the game itself, the draw distance is very low which can make it feel a little claustrophobic and makes it difficult to see over a distance. Also there are no infinite worlds. The amount of mobs you can spawn at a time is also limited.
Its still a fun way to play if you want to play an older and unique version of Minecraft, so I rate it 4 stars. You can find a more detailed review if you look this version up online.
I had a good experience buying this game! The case was without dents, scratching, etc, and the game card was good as new! The customer service was also kind and helpful. The game however does has its downsides: – The controls on the switch do take a while to get used to ( as they are more simple on pc), but once you do, it’s a nice experience if you have Nintendo Switch Online! ( you cannot go into servers unless you have the subscription).
My younger sibling took a day or two to enjoy the gameplay with no trouble with the controls ( before this game she had no prior knowledge of the controls) – You cannot upload skins or make your own; you have several options from the Mario Bros skins that they offer.
If you do plan to use them in other servers, the skin will not be visible to other players but yourself. ( Meaning that they will see the default skin) This does state on the game itself, but it’s easy to miss this fact.
Overall, the graphics are nice and the gameplay is smooth except for the small things I have mentioned above!.
March to battle under the emblem of fire. The dragon protector and the dragon destroyer have awakened, and this time they send their soldiers to war until one side is completely annihilated. The My Unit concept is adapted to suit the game, gamers start by designing his or her own avatar.
Recruit allies with different skills into your troops. Plan your formation when you reach the battlefield. The new Dual System lets you attack in chains, place your troops around an enemy, and when one of them kick start the attack, the ally closest to him joins, giving you more power.
The options of casual play and classic play come back. A gamer can decide on the difficulty level, your fallen allies are resurrected after every battle when you choose casual, otherwise, they die permanently.

Reviews From Real Customers
The game itself is one of the best in its franchise and one of the best DS/3DS games available. While the storyline itself is nothing special, the characters are written well and interact with each other in unique ways that make the story more engaging.
The service from the store was overall very good as well. I recieved the game faster than I had expected and in excellent condition. The slot in the case that holds the cartridge isn’t as tight as it should be but it still holds the cartridge just fine.
It’s just a knitpick as everything else was like buying the game new.
I absolutely loved this installment to the Fire Emblem series. Like many it was my first game and it got the ball rolling as far as my passion for the series. The characters and world are beautiful and their storylines are genuinely touching.
The game can be as straightforward or as difficult as you want it to be with Casual and Classic modes so it’s great for experts and beginners like myself. If you can get your hands on Awakening, I’d say buy it for sure :).
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is the newest installment in the popular Monster Hunter series, which has sold more than 28 million units worldwide to date. In Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, players will take on the role of a hunter that joins up with a traveling caravan to explore new lands and towns along the way.
This grand adventure will include hundreds of quests to take on a variety of extraordinary creatures that yield valuable resources used for weapons and equipment. Launching on Nintendo 3DS, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate represents the biggest leap forward ever for the series with more new content and exciting features than ever before.
Also, for the first time ever for the Monster Hunter series on a handheld system, players will be able to join up with friends over the internet via the Nintendo Network, as well as the previously available local wireless option.
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate will take players to new heights, literally, with the introduction of more vertical and lateral movement than ever. An expanded repertoire of actions will create more dynamic hunting experiences with fluid climbing motions and the ability to jump attack from walls or ledges.
In addition, players will be able to ride atop a monster for a limited time as they hang on and deliver attacks. With the addition of two new weapon classes, challenging new monsters and numerous locales, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate will be the most robust hunting experience yet.
I used to play MH3 and MH4 with a friend what seems like ages ago. I recently picked up a 3DS and decided to relive some of the magic. Im happy to say that I have not yet been disappointed! This game was/is an awesome advance in what I loved about the MH3 game.
(Im a big fan of the new jumping attack/climbing. ) New weapon types are sweeeeet. (Love the Charge Blade) The controls do take some getting used to, but Im sure Ill have it mastered in no time. Decent story to help advance the game along.
(The NPC dialogue is cute, and has its own comedic charm. ) The graphics are surprisingly good for a game boy, about on par from the MH3 game on the Wii console. (From what I can recall) All this I managed to snag for about $20.
00 (used)! I look forward to many hours of relaxing and hunting, perhaps with an old friend again.
First bought tri on the Wii to play with my friend. I’ve played it consistently ever since, now including 3u and 4u. I actually bought a 3DS for the sole purpose of playing mh4u. The game is exciting, and realistic enough to be compelling without being too bothersome.
Gameplay is dynamic, giving you lots of preference. It’s challenging, but not too difficult, and relies much more heavily on actual player skill than equipment or levels. Multiplayer is also excellent.
It’s very well structured and balanced, and there’s nothing more fun than fighting a gigantic dinosaur-like creature right alongside your best buddy. All told, an excellent game, well worth my $25.
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is a great installment in the Monster Hunter (MH) franchise. The story is slightly more complex than the previous game (Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate), taking the hunter to multiple villages (as opposed to the 1 village in the previous installment).
The monster selection is more varied as well, having more large bugs and mammal-like creatures. The game mechanics are fun and the graphics are not too shabby either. The only thing that I didn’t like in the game was that the color schemes of some of the settings were pretty irritating (too many vibrant, warm colors in my opinion).
In a continent torn asunder by warring gods, guide two armies through brutal tactical battles-as this reimagined RPG epic invades the West! Uncover the intertwining stories of heroes Alm and Celica, engage enemies, fend off dragons, and explore 3D dungeons.
Your prowess will grow as you master this melding of modern and legacy Fire Emblem gameplay. From the manufacturer Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadow of Valentia In a continent that was divided by warring gods, guide legions of soldiers through tactical battles—as this reimagined RPG epic invades the West! Uncover the intertwining tales of heroes Alm and Celica, engage foes, fend off monsters, and explore 3D dungeons.
Your prowess will grow as you master this melding of modern and legacy Fire Emblem gameplay.
Pros: Voice acting is awsome! Art is awesome! Music is good. Animations improved! Cons: Map design is atrocious Gameplay is ok, it’s a nice break from the traditional fire emblem gameplay, so I liked it.
Embark on the adventure of your dream life as you craft, cast, fish, mine, battle and explore like never before. With the innovative life system, your choices don’t just upgrade characters, they help shape your journey.
Explore a huge fantasy landscape beside surly dark paladins, slick pirate captains, regal princesses and others who share your taste for the unknown.
Liked Animal Crossing graphics? Love RPG? Then Fantasy Life is for you. – Extensive maps for a DS console game, fluid characters movements and effects – Various monsters and bosses with different difficulties levels – 12 classes: 4 fighter, 4 collectors, 4 creators –> It’s lengthy mastering all of them, especially in trying to get the best equipment.
I found that party members have higher stats than the MC at the same level even though the MC can attack quicker. – Pretty good MC character customization! Reminds me of making a Mii. – Playful storyline that’s pretty lengthy, mostly due to efforts in raising fighting power.
Two save slots. – Fighting monsters and getting drops are pretty addictive. – Only real downside is repetitive crafting until it can be mastered+automated. – Furniture isn’t as nearly expansive as Animal Crossing, but it’s decent enough.
– Tons of storage and bag space that can be increased through Bliss (essentially upgrade) system. Overall, easy to play RPG with difficulty mostly being increasing MC’s stats. Fishing is actually more difficult here! Expect to be a true patient fisher when taking on new fish bosses.
I’ve played a lot of games in my time but I must say that fantasy life holds a special place in my top 5 games of all times, let’s make this more visual Final Fantasy 6 Chrono trigger Final Fantasy 2 Legend of Zelda: a link to the past Fantasy life Fantasy life’s story is infused with quirky characters and a literal laugh out loud script that will have you returning to the land of Reveria time and time again in search for adventure.
The life system is much like a job system you would find in the final Fantasy series. Jump into the shoes of a blacksmith and create your own armor and weapons or become a tailor and create clothes for your magician job.
The combat system is a lot like Zelda a link to the past in terms of having control of your customized character to dodge enemy attacks as well as attacking freely. Combat has not been limited to a basic hack and slash, the 4 combat jobs ; mercenary, paladin, archer and magician, have the ability to expand their array of attacks by completing quests in according to their job.
I’m sure there are somethings I’m forgetting to mention about fantasy life, but I’ll say this; if you like a fleshed out customization system, crafting, adventuring, pitting yourself against huge bosses or a story with extremely likeable characters, fantasy life is definitely the game that will deliver.
Very good 3DS title if you can get it at less than $40, especially if you purchase the expansion. Great writing, characters, and interactions between lives (jobs). Very fondly remember my first playthrough and enjoying the story.
Customization is also a nice plus. Note that it WILL get repetitive if you plan to 100% all the different lives, but that can be said of most all games. Highly recommend this game for imaginative/creative teens and young adults.
Stella Glow is strategy RPG for the Nintendo 3DS system developed by Imageepoch (Luminous Arc franchise). The game centers around Alto and his childhood friend Lisette as they try to stop Hilda the Witch of Destruction and features unique “Song Magic.
” The game will contain English voices but with the 20+ songs are in their original Japanese performed by some of Japans most beloved voice actresses. As most reluctant heroes do Stella Glow-protagonist Alto starts as a country boy in a small town.
One day he hears a song coming from the forest (which is odd since song has been absent on the planet for thousands of years) where he discovers the lone Hilda. But after the chance encounter Hilda reveals shes the Witch of Destruction determined to destroy the world with her Harbingers.
As Hilda is about to destroy Altos hometown he and Lisette are rescued by the Royal Knights and whisked back safely to the kingdom. Alto joins the 9th Regiment for the sole purpose of gathering the other Witches to stop Hilda.
Stella Glow has an interesting development story behind it. It was developed by Imageepoch (a developer best known for JRPGS on the DS like Luminous Arc), however, whilst this game was finishing development, Imageepoch filed for bankruptcy, and the publisher of the game, Sega acquired the rights to Stella Glow.
What’s even more interesting is that Atlus USA localised the game it as opposed to Sega of America (which is unusual because Atlus owns Sega, yet it was published by Sega in Japan). Anyway, I digress.
This is a fantastic game. Fantastic dubbing by Atlus USA as usual, the characters are enjoyable and entertaining beyond the amine archetypes, each party member has a distinctive character trait, wonderful artstyle, and the blend of visual novel and tactial role playing prevents the game from being too monotonous.
If I had to nitpick about this, and it’s a fairly noticeable nitpick, it’s that you can tell that the production value was low even for a 3DS game. A lot of enemies are exactly the same just with re-coloured models, and some of the textures are really underwhelming for a 3DS game.
Aside from that, this is a must buy. I hope that Sega and Atlus maximise the Stella Glow intellectual property because it has absolutely fantastic franchising opportunities.
I’ll try to keep this simple. I love games like this. Sure it’s cliched and stories like this have been done in the past. However nowadays, games like this don’t come over to the west much anymore. That being said, a game like this which was once all too easy to come by, is much more difficult to find now.
As such, it makes a game as good as this, a treat to play. The music is excellent. It would have to be as it’s somewhat of a main piece of the story. The story isn’t doing anything new but what it does do, it does well.
The gameplay is rather simple compared to other games of this style out now for the 3DS but it’s not ruined by unnecessary added mechanics that only serve to convolute and overcomplicate the flow of battle.
The battles are fun and do have enough strategy to make it fun and challenging. You also have the ability to grind for levels outside of storyline battles which is always a welcome addition in games like this.
The visuals are beautiful. Crisp, clean, detailed and colorful. It’s easy to turn everything drab in this genre but the art style makes everything bright and vibrant which is rather nice to look at. Again, this game isn’t doing anything new or genre defining or breaking but then again, does it really have to? Everything it does it does much better than average so it doesn’t need to change the formula up.
So why should you get this game over Fire Emblem Fates? You probably shouldn’t. I don’t have a Fates game yet (I bought this and Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth for the Vita instead) but even without having played one of the two/three I know that those are better games overall.
However, Fire Emblem Fates isn’t going anywhere now that Awakening sold so well. It’s never going to become difficult to find and Nintendo will keep making copies so long as people want them. On the other side though, buying a game like Stella Glow tells the industry that we want more like this more than a purchase of a Fire Emblem game.
Supporting “lesser” game companies by purchasing games like this really helps this genre that the industry wants to kill off by showing them with your money that you do still want these games to be made and brought overseas.
There is also the fact that over the course of the next few weeks, this game will become more and more difficult to find. As I already pointed out, Fire Emblem will keep getting produced but this game will not.
So that means that this game will only go up in value as it sells out in stores and your only option is Ebay, Amazon or the third party sellers on Walmart. com. So you’ll not only be getting a very good game by purchasing Stella Glow, you’ll also be helping to get more games like this localized and you’ll be making a good investment as this game will only go up in value as time passes.
There’s also a good chance that by buying now, you’ll be getting the special edition even though it came out in March like I did by purchasing through Walmart. com. There’s not a lot of perks to getting the special edition but it’s nice to have and it’s more than likely to go higher in value than the standard release.
Putty is on a mission to rescue his imprisoned putty friends and it’s up to you to make sure he succeeds! In this retro platformer, you’ll test your skill and imagination while stretching, morphing, inflating, and punching your way to victory! The amazing and addicting Putty Squad adventure is back and better than ever with all new moves, game modes, global leaderboards, tutorials, and bonus stickers to collect! Reimagined with a modern twist, Putty Squad offers the best in old-school gaming while bringing you even more exciting features and immersive gameplay.
Love platformers and this one is good. I like the detail. It’s great for casual gamers like myself. Not too difficult. Biggest issue is its use of contols seem non-standard. I played and left for a while then when I went to play again I had to take tutorial again to remember controls.
He lives in a pineapple under the sea and squiggles in stereoscopic three-dee, in his first outing on Nintendo 3DS. It includes a collection of more than 100 “nanogames” self-contained mini-games that take only a few seconds to play.
Featuring characters and themes from the long-running Nickelodeon cartoon series. As in Nintendo’s WarioWare collections, many of SpongeBob’s nanogames are based on simple tasks with single-screen goals.
The challenge is often less in performing the action correctly than in recognizing which is the correct action to perform, as the timer ticks down. A main mode of play presents an endurance-testing string of nanogames in quick succession.
Touch-screen controls add to the immediacy, as players flip, tilt and drag objects and characters, through seven themed game worlds.
I am enjoying this game very much. It contrives of a bunch of mini games and the really cool part is that Patchy the Pirate is in the game (just like if you were watching him on tv!. ) He is really funny and he kind of tells a story.
It’s not a lot of words though. he gets right down to the game playing. and teases you if you fail! This game kind of reminds me of Rythym Heaven which got really frustrating. I’d much rather play this ANYTIME.
Games should be fun, not make you feel like you want to throw your DS out the window! I recommend this game. It’s just a lot of fun, nothing real serious and not real hard either (once you get used to how to play.
Finnaly, A Spongebob games that are not just generic platformer or racing. This games retains all homour from Spongebob series by making the genre as a collection of minigames (just like Warioware series, Rhythm Heaven, or Rhythm Thief).
I bought this product because I love the Spongebob TV series. However, this game is pretty bad. Graphics wise, it’s essentially all 2D (even though it’s made for a 3D device). The game consists of solely mini-games, and they aren’t very fun.
The very world is at your fingertips as you fight for survival fortune and glory. Delve deep into cavernous expanses seek out ever-greater foes to test your mettle in combat or construct your own city.
In the World of Terraria the choice is yours! Blending elements of classic action games with the freedom of sandbox-style creativity Terraria is a unique gaming experience where both the journey and the destination are as unique as the players themselves!.
So the game was okay, but the issue is I got it originally thinking I could play with my friends. But due to me having a ps4 and them having a Nintendo switch mini we can’t play together. The graphic are good and plays well.
But i would be happier if I could cross play with other systems. I would definitely recommend the game, but if you want to play with friends make sure that you have the same system.
My nephews got this for Christmas on their PS3 and asked me to come play. Up until then, I’d seen this game on the shelves, but had no interest in it (I blame the logo – I don’t know what it was about it that seemed lackluster).
AFTER playing it with them, I was immediately checking where I could get it, which was difficult following Christmas. I was able to secure this copy and have been playing with them online or at their house several times a week since then.
A note about online play – PS4 requires use of Playstation Plus, which I had no interest in. I signed up for a 2-week trial while I searched for the PS3 version of the game because PS3 doesn’t require any paid service for online play.
Either way, though, I was able to play with my nephews as the game supports cross-platform play – you can have a mix of PS4 and PS3 players all on the same online game. When playing by myself, I prefer the PS4 version.
When playing with others, I just upload my character and my map to the cloud (a Terraria feature), then download them onto the PS3 (mine for online or others’ for local play). I wrap up our games by uploading my character and map back to the cloud so that I can get that progress downloaded onto my PS4.
This game is awesome and everything about it makes for really fun multiplayer, whether local (my preference) or online. There’s tons to explore and do, along with loads of different tools, tactics, and adventures.
After seeing friends of mine laugh and have a blast while playing Terraria, I decided to purchase this game because it seemed like I was missing out on all the fun. Fortunately, I made a great decision, a decision that was worth every penny.
For someone who enjoys playing games that involve exploring and creativity, this game fits these two things/interests perfectly. I loved being able to roam around finding resources in order to make weapons such as the Excalibur.
The multiplayer experience was incredible, I was able to play online with smooth gameplay without having someone’s connectivity status interrupt or cause the game to lag. However, what I did not like so much is that other players can come into your world, take your stuff and leave with the items.
But the overall the positives, such as the free roam experience, greatly overshadow the smallest of problems and worries such as the one previously stated. If you are into games that involve extensive exploring and creativity, I would strongly recommend you to try out this game.
When Uncle Grandpa accidentally drives the UG-RV through multiple dimensions, he picks up some surprise passengers in the form of Gumball, Steven Universe, Finn, Mordecai and Clarence! Now they’ll have to band together to defeat the evil shard creatures and set things right.
Use each character’s unique attacks and special moves to conquer the elements, fight your way through all the levels and beat some brutal boss battles. Replay maps with special modifiers to switch up the fun, and unlock bonus rooms along the way.
Take on the single-player challenge or grab up to 3 friends for multiplayer action in this crazy interdimensional adventure.
Finally bought a switch for my daughter and needed to load her up on some games that she can easily get into. Not only was this game cheap but its fun and easy to get into. My daughters is 7 she easily picked up on this game.
Lots of time passes without even noticing it. The game play is simple enough for even younger kids who just button mash. Game is worth having in a switch collection. Only downside is a little reading before proceeding forward.
Other than that game is fun for kids of all ages or those who especially love these cartoon characters. Definitely recommended game when on sale.
I almost feel bad being forced to select a yes or no review of “are the graphics good” and “is the gameplay compelling”. It’s a fun kids game. (Or any age I suppose if you’re into cartoons) So it’s not meant to be “compelling” nor would the graphics be over the top.
It does look good, it’s just like the cartoons it’s based on, and it’s full of references to all the shows. Plays smoothly. I played it with my son and had a blast. (Then I went back and played it solo to get all the achievements.
So if you’re wondering, all 1000g are easily attainable). If you or your kids enjoy these shows and can catch it for a good price, then I would certainly recommend.
Nice little bonding game to play with little ones, but there is reading to do so be prepared to read if they can’t read yet. Instructions within game play for directions. Some fun simple zapping with different characters.
From mallots to vacuum cleaners, each character has their own abilities and weapons/specialty.
The walk home from school today is going to be a lot spookier than usual Your sleepy neighborhoods been overrun by monsters! Werewolves prowl the woods, Gnomes roam underfoot, and scarecrows walk at midnight.
But these aren’t ordinary monstersthey’re R. L. Stine’s famous Goosebumps monsters, released from their books and looking to wreak havoc! You’ll need to use your wits to investigate the surroundings, puzzle out clues, and outsmart the monsters before it’s too late! Survive a trek through your neighborhood, unravel the mysteries of the Dead House, and sneak through the mall after hours; only then can you confront Slappy and stop his plans for revenge!.
Not really intended for a switch in my opinion. This is the type of game where you just click through scenes rather than move around and play. If I was going to go through scenes the way this game does, I could get 2 books at CVS for the price of this game.
Like the tagline for the books, “buyers beware, you’re in for a scare”. This is really a bad game. To Port this offer from the Google Play store or Apple store and do nothing to add extra content or anything at all is scary.
The puzzles are extremely confusing and don’t make sense and the story itself is a just a messy blend of different ideas. This game can be beaten under 2 hrs. Not fun for the kids and not fun for those who are fans of Goosebumps.

I like the mobile version of this game, there’s lots of things to do, although the graphics on the 3ds version are kind of lacking. Everything else is great though, better graphics than fs16 on mobile, and lots of veicles and things to do.
Get steamed up. Launch S. T. E. A. M. , an elite team of steam-powered special-forces soldiers, to save the world from an alien menace. In this new blend of action and strategy, your commandos use steam power stored in special backpacks to move into position and fire an arsenal of distinct weapons.
Pick your team members and load out, then use strategy to decide the best way to approach this steampunk-inspired battlefield.
I tried the demo for STEAM, and enjoyed it, but when I saw how cheap it was for a new copy, I bought one for myself, and one for my Sister who lives a few hundred miles away, so we could play together.
For the price, it is totally worth it to buy a copy, and surprise a few friends with copies, so you can all play together over the internet. STEAM itself is a really nice looking steam-punk themed strategy game.
I find this to be more exciting in some ways than the Fire Emblem series, which is technically a ‘better’ game, but something about using the c-stick on the new 3DS to line up a shot is really satisfying.
You can also move the camera angle manually using a virtual control stick on the lower screen, if you don’t have a ‘new’ model. I have only played it for an hour or so, but I’ve already gotten more than my money’s worth.
I think the only reason this game is under-rated is that it is very American looking. I get that it’s all kind of a parody, and enjoy the humor, but I’m a casual gamer. Serious gamers might not be able to get past the comic-book visuals and (intentionally) cheesy dialogue, but under that layer is a really enjoyable game, with a well thought out introduction stage and difficulty curve.
Would highly recommend, based on fun, value, and multi-player functionality, I would rate this a solid 8/10. Not as deep or involved as a JRPG, it is really fun to surprise a few friends with copies and play together, or to practice in the story-mode.
It’s a pretty fun tactical game where you play as characters from American history and fictional literature. It’s a pretty unique sort of experience, and I’m sad it never got the recognition it deserved.
If you like tactical games I’d say give this one a try. You can find it super cheap.
I love this game, I bought it on the off chance I would like it along with a load of other games and its become one of my favourite and the most engaging. It requires you to think things through. I love it.
I highly recommend it. The only thing I would mention is the pauses for alien moves are slightly frustrating but they do build tension as you wait to see whats going to occur.
Nintendo 3DS – In this crazy action-puzzle-RPG, you’ll compete in sushi-eating duels. The evil Empire has outlawed sushi across the land. You are a Sushi Striker named Musashi, and your quest is to defeat the Empire and restore the right to eat sushi anytime, anywhere.
You’ll explore a colorful world, meet enemies and allies, and even befriend powerful Sushi Sprites. As you progress, you’ll perfect the ancient art of sushi-fighting called Sushido. You must battle opponents by consuming sushi and matching the colored plates and types of sushi for killer combos.
The taller the stack of plates, the more powerful your attack will be. You can play solo or take on other Sushido practitioners in 1v1 battles via local wireless or online multiplayer.
Sushi Striker starts off with arcade style gameplay, then adds several layers of nuanced strategy. In addition, there are RPG style buffs and a better than average story line. To top it all off, the production values are top notch and they are very generous with cut scenes and voice acting.
I usually do not give color matching games the time of day, but the addition of battle mechanics and strategy built into it makes this a great value, Particularly when you add in the enormous amount of content included in this game.
This game is also available for the Switch, but stylus gameplay on the 3DS is the only real way to play this.
Sushi Striker is a sorely underrated action puzzler that I first played on 3DS and the port to the Switch is excellent. The main mechanic is similar to other shape chaining games, albeit the ‘shapes’ consist of coloured sushi plates and there is a surprising amount of excitement, depth and variation to the gameplay.
Having the option to play with either control or touch is another great feature that is kept with the port. Additionally, this version adds the option for split screen local battles! Highly recommend!.
Don’t get me wrong I was hooked on this game, when I saw this at Target. And I LOVE playing it from for hours on end. But this is similar to a mobile game on the Switch, minus the transactions. It get really repetitive, even with new mechanics introduced in certain levels.
Online play is hit or miss, and puzzle mode. you better be really smart to complete puzzles with less than 10 seconds. That being said, I don’t regret my purchase and I would recommend you pick it up if the price is right.
The Yo-Kai Watch game is about hundreds of sometimes cute, sometimes spooky, and usually mischievous Yo-kai that inhabit our world. Yo-kai are not ghosts, monsters or creatures. Yo-kai are, quite simply, Yo-kai.
They cannot be seen by the human eye, but they are everywhere. Befriending new Yo-kai may not be so easy, though in many cases, you will need to battle with them and impress them during your battle.
Lovely Pokemon-style game with charming and lovable characters! There is a sense of adventure throughout and it is also just as nice to be part of their world. There are side quests and much to explore as I am still playing the game! It has been so much fun, so far, that I can’t wait to continue playing it and getting acquainted with all the characters and helping people to solve issues! It is a game to keep and to play again and again.
Yo-Kai Watch is the new Pokemon in Japan, and for good reason. It has an amazing art style and Japanese influence, unlike Pokemon which turned away from its Japanese roots to be influenced by Europeans.
While Pokemon struggles with sequels that are too similar to previous games and remakes that are almost exactly previous games, Yo-Kai is so original and beautiful although limited to the horrible resolution of the 3DS.
Lighting, art, scenery, and monster designs are impeccable. There are more fun things to do in the game and more content than all of the Pokemon games to date put together. Basically, it does all of the things Pokemon should have done with its games a long time ago.
It adds fishing, bug-catching, and collecting to the monster-catching plot and is still totally original. The translations and dialogue are funny and thoughtful and I find myself laughing out loud sometimes.
Amazing characters, gameplay, and art, unlike the Pokemon games it was inspired by.
Yo-kai Watch is such a remarkable game, and an experience I will always remember. For starters the graphics are pretty stellar for a Nintendo 3DS. Secondly, it’s a unique take on a turn based RPG, in which you recruit Yo-kai by feeding them food then befriending them, and putting them into battle.
The world map is decently big, and there is a ton of replay value. This game also has a surprisingly good soundtrack. If you are an RPG lover, than I highly recommend this game.
Frogger 3D for Nintendo 3DS presents the classic dash-and-dodge hopping action of the iconic coin-op game, with an original three-dee twist. Presented from an isometric perspective in stereoscopic 3D, the game’s stages are based on the top-down arcade classic, except that Frogger can hop up above street level in some places, onto crates, phone booths, or even the roofs of passing vehicles.
Additional levels mix up the action, including forced-scrolling sequences in which Frogger must dodge left or right to avoid oncoming obstacles, and a rotating, Tempest-like game board that challenges players to make their way to the center of a busy roundabout.
The game hops through 60 stages in six themed game worlds, including “New York,” “Casino,” “The Far East,” and “Space. ” In some stages, Frogger needs help from powered-up frog friends he finds along the way, to muscle through blockades, light up dark places, and employ other special abilities in unusual situations.
In 2050, customizable palm-sized robots known as LBX are pit against each other in battle, and now you can get in on the action. Customize your LBX to create one of more than 30,000 possible designs from over 130 sets.
Then wage robot war in real-time battles! Team up with characters that appear in the TV series, or take on friends in local 3-on-3 skirmishes.
IF you were a big fan of Medabots. this is the game for you. The story line is great, feels like you’re watching a show with interactive game play. You’re engulfed into the story and you get to customize your own LBX’s.
Unlike pokemon where you create your own character and go on your own journey, this game you’ll play as one of the main characters in the story. The only downside is traveling between the maps does take a lot of time, especially having to get back to the check point just to save your progress.
I found the product to be just like I remember it being when I was younger. It played well & had only one problem; sometimes it couldn’t be read by my 2ds. It may have been the game, it may have been my console, but overall, it was fun to play.
Based on the Nickelodeon animated series starring a quartet of anthropomorphic and acrobatic reptiles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles lets gamers brawl their way through 15 levels of classic side-scrolling combat.
Longtime Turtle foes Shredder and the Kraang are planning on releasing a chemical weapon that will turn everyone in New York City into a mutant, so players must help Donatello, Leonardo, Michelangelo, and Raphael save the day.
Gamers can take control of any one of the four turtles, eat pizza to regain health, and join up to three friends for multiplayer action.
As a huge TMNT fan I originally passed on this game. I had no faith in it being good. But it was killing me not having it so I bought it just to see what it was like. But this game really caught me off guard, IT’S FREAKING FUN!! There is a fantastic progression system in play and the four turtles are all useful against certain enemies in the game.
Making the switching between turtles fun and totally mandatory to progress. This is for sure a sleeper title, and more people need to check this out for themselves.
Both of my sons love this game, they would totally concentrate on this every single Saturday morning! I have never tried this game because I’m kinda stuck with PS4 Call Of Duty, so I wouldn’t know much.
I play eight and 16 bit Nintendo games avidly and have several of the turtle games. I bought both of the Xbox games thinking it would be an upgraded version of those. It sadly, was not. In fact, the Nintendo versions have a lot more depth.
The two Xbox versions have no depth whatsoever. You literally walk in a straight line and just punch, kick and jump. Jumping and kicking is optional. No strategy necessary. You can mindlessly just push buttons and still advance.
A two year old could play and get really far. Sometimes you can get cheap discounted games that are worth buying. The turtles games are cheap for a reason. They suck. At $4 each with free shipping, they weren’t worth it.
I’d rather buy a case of water. At least the water would be able to hold my attention longer.
Meet and interact with over 60 favorite Disney characters while exploring the worlds of Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, Aladdin, and Winnie the Pooh. When you can manage your own caf filled with Disney magic and set off on ghost-hunting quests, your life becomes the adventure.
Go customization crazy! Build new furniture to decorate your caf with, and your own personal room above it. Put together hundreds of Disney-themed outfits with collectable clothes and accessories for your avatar.
You can even plant and harvest crops, learn new greetings, and collect Disney character cards. Or, collect magic wands and battle through ghost-filled forests and dungeons. And if thats not enough, you can get extra worlds, more items, and outfits as additional paid content.
This game is a lot of fun and recommended for girls mostly and any adults who enjoy games like “Animal Crossing. ” In the game, you can farm for ingredients, do quests and help disney friends (like Cinderella and Aladdin), make clothing for your avatar and employees, and furniture for your cafe.
You collect character cards that sparkle in 3D as you greet the local disney characters. It takes time to collect all the items since there are hundreds, and the game is real time based, so the disney world changes in scenery based on the season and holidays.
Characters and ingredients (used in recipes for cafe food, furniture, clothes, and your wand) change and appear more frequently as the time of year changes. For example: If you want to collect all the “Nightmare before Christmas items” you will need to play between September and October in order to obtain the halloweenish recipes and items needed to make those items.
There is also downloadable content such as clothes (usually free), special wands, and a new world to explore (So far there is one extra world availabe for purchase: Pirates of the Caribbean).
This is the best game I’ve played on the 3ds in a while. It’s quite like rune factory – if you enjoy those titles, you’ll like this. You’ll also enjoy it if you like rounding up items to make stuff like furniture or food for your cafe or clothes.
The player is a customised visitor to the world of disney, collecting clothing to customise your character in disney designs and furniture for their own cafe, which they can customise with disney themes and throw parties for disney characters.
For things you do, you may get stickers for individual things you’ve done (a little like a scout patch. ) It does have some humour (try blowing kisses to Captain Hook when he’s unlocked) and isn’t dumbed down to purposely suit younger ages.
The (minor) disappointing factors are: the lack of disney music. Not being able to buy multiple items you need from Agrabah market, you have to buy them one at a time from the vendors. Lastly, player interactivity between players is very limited.
It’s a one player game with one save file, so if you’re intending a purchase with multiple siblings in your household who have sharing issues, I recommend more than one.
This is a very lengthy story-oriented RPG and I love the idea of bringing some of the most beloved Disney characters in an epic, that’s cool. Wonder around meeting all your favourite Disney characters.
Doing activities like fishing or farming or managing a caf, or doing favors for others which you earn money/credits in return, which is totally awesome. I said lengthy, because in order to get to get to door 60, you have to go through door 1, complete a task then you get to 2.
and 3. It is still quite enjoyable. So far, however I noticed a flaw. 1) You cannot create a guy and then some time later you go to shopping with Minnie. No, this isn’t a date. When this “guy” shops with Minnie, he will cross-dress like a girl, which is weird, and not making any sense; since the shop only sells ladies outfits, for the first time anyway.
2) Only the main characters can talk, like Micky, Minnie Ducky. and not Cinderella or Alice or Winnie the Pooh. I wish all of the characters could talk. so 4 stars is all you get. Lastly I want to mention the “magic” part.
Once you acquired the wand, you fight like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows. Not exactly like Kingdom Hearts where you get random enemies, not quite, but good actions. I wish this game was more like Disney Theme Park, because it is only like 40% magical.
Ready for Adventure! The intrepid Captain Toad sets off on his own adventure for the very first time on Nintendo 3DS through a wide variety of tricky, enemy-infested, maze-like stages to find hidden gems and nab elusive gold stars.
Explore a variety of tricky sandbox-style levels inspired by Japanese box gardens called Hakoniwa. Features: Equipped with nothing more than a neck scarf, backpack and oversized head lamp, Captain Toad finds hidden gems, coins and power-ups on his way to the gold star at the end of each tricky, trap-filled stage.
Captain Toad isn’t particularly fast or strong. He can’t jump and he has no super powers. But he knows that sometimes, it’s all about wits and perspective. Captain Toad’s world is brimming with life, with dangerous enemies, tricky platforms, nasty traps and secrets to uncover.
Each stage is its own puzzle to solve, and littered throughout are hidden items in hard-to-reach places. Can you help our tiny adventurer survive to find them all? With 3D visuals and Touch Screen controls, it feels like there’s a box garden right in your hands!.
I have been a fan of most Nintendo games, especially in the Mario World for decades. Captain Toad:Treasure Tracker is a welcome departure from the 2D platform and party games. With over 80 levels of diverse and increasingly complex lands to explore to find gems, defeat or avoid enemies and discover the all important coins to add extra lives, this game is one of the best.
Each level consists of a 3D, rotatable world, in which the goal is usually to locate 3 gems and finally a big star in order to complete the level. Various types of paths and traversable land and water are full of items and tools used to collect coins or disburse adversaries or blow up walls to gain access to otherwise hidden areas.
Similar to Mario Brothers, If Toad is caught by an enemy, the first time he shrinks a bit. If he doesnt find a mushroom to become large again, running into an enemy again means that level is over. Again, similar to Mario Brothers, there are coins located all over in the open, and hidden in plants you need to pick and caves.
Getting 100 coins adds an extra Toad life to your game. The game mechanics are unique in that instead of just running and jumping to the right to reach a goal, you must carefully follow paths and actually rotate the world in 3D view to be able to keep trackof where Toad is going.
While mastering the controls has a slight learning curve, my 6 year old niece was happily traversing through the first few levels in no time. There is a demo available in the Nintendo E-Shop if youre interested, but purchasing the game via cartridge allows it to be shared between more than one Switch if you have them.
This is a great game in which you solve puzzles and find hidden things. I am only giving it 4 stars because it is rather difficult for my kids to play. My son is 7 and got far in the game and my daughter is 4 and struggles on every level.
Other than that is fun to play and adds a different twist on puzzle solving. It really makes you think which is great. Some levels are really easy and some are really hard. I guess if you need help just you tube it.
Got this game on sale and was worth it. Just wouldn’t pay full price.
Pretty good spin-off of the Captain Toad levels in Super Mario 3D World. It has some great puzzles to play through, but it is unfortunately pretty uneven in its presentation with reused cutscenes and having what is, in essence, the same boss multiple times.
But for the most part, the core gameplay is strong. If you’re looking for something breezy while still being fun for the kids, it’s a no-brainer, get it right away. If you’re a bit older, however, you might enjoy it for its gameplay loop but it does get tiresome and repetitive after a while.
There are a few 3ds games under 10 dollars that are worth mentioning. One of them is The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D. This game is an remake of the classic Nintendo 64 game, and it’s one of the best games in the series.
It’s only $9. 99, and it’s a must-have for any Zelda fan. Another great game under 10 dollars is Fire Emblem: Awakening. This tactical RPG is one of the best in its genre, and it’s only $9. 99. If you’re looking for a great game to play on your 3ds, you can’t go wrong with either of these two.
