A 200 watt solar panel kit is a set of solar panels that together can produce up to 200 watts of power. This is typically enough to power a small home or RV, and can also be used to supplement a larger home’s power needs.
Solar panel kits usually include all of the necessary components for installation, including the panels themselves, mounting hardware, and connecting cables.

I purchased a 200-watt system with an optional 40-amp MPPT charge controller. I also made individual purchases of cable connectors, fuses, tools, and cables. I chose to mount the solar panels to stainless steel Unistrut to ensure I hit the roof trusses and not just the roofing plywood.
I also learned that it was easier to make your own cables versus buying selected lengths. Everything fit together very well and it worked great. My main purpose for installing this system was to keep my batteries topped off due to the heavy power drain from the hydraulic leveling and slide systems.
I haven’t have an issue since. I left the door open to add another panel or two in case I upgrade my batteries in the future. Renogy offers some great videos on how to set everything up so it wasn’t hard to figure out what you need to know to install and use this system.
Great product, everything works together, and fast shipping on the purchases.
Two Renogy 100-Watt monocrystalline solar panels can be connected in parallel by a pair of branch connectors. The charge controller has been upgraded to Renogy’ s new 30A PWM Negative Ground Charge Controller — the Renogy Wanderer.
The system can be extended up to 400-watt in parallel connection.
Taking a trip in your RV can create lifetime memories. Don’t let traditional gas powered generators or power hookups slow you down. Unlike traditional gas generators, Renogy 200W Watt 12 Volt Solar RV Kit silently recharges your batteries so you can enjoy the great outdoors without the extra noise.
Solar panels also allow you to run limited low watt electrical equipment without a power hookup. Renogy RV Kits are carefully arranged to meet your RV needs. This kit includes two 100W 12V Monocrystalline Solar Panels, an Adventurer 30A PWM Charge Controller, a 30 ft 10AWG MC4 Adapter Kit, a 16 ft 10 AWG Tray Cable, a pair of Branch Connectors, and two sets of Z Brackets for mounting.
The kit was well constructed and shipped promptly. It’s working fine and has achieved the desired goal of powering my garden shed lights and recharging my battery-powered tools. The one “flaw” I feel needs mentioning is the way the cables connect into the controller – they’re simply exposed multi-strand wires that get screwed into the controller ports, and can too easily come out with very little effort.
That mechanism would be better served by some form of plug-in connection rather then the existing screw approach (particularly as the instructions say not to tighten the screws too tightly or the plastic will break).
This part of the installation is very flimsy and needs a re-design.
This portable solar panel is perfect for the adventurous traveler, providing both convenience and dependability when venturing off the grid. The 200-Watt Solar Suitcase comes with two 100-Watt Monocrystalline Solar Panels, one 15 in.
set of wires with MC4 connectors, and one protective soft case for safe portability. With its adjustable aluminum stand, latches, and heavy duty handle, this 200-Watt Solar Suitcase will change the way the world looks at portable power.
100 Watt 12 Volt Monocrystalline Foldable Solar Suitcase with Voyager SKU: RNG-KIT-STCS100D-VOY20-US Have just used it in my driveway charging 2 different type batteries so far but seems to work great.
Charges from 2 to 6 amps depending on time of day, cloudiness, angle, etc. Hit 7 amps on a full sun, middle of day, optimum angle. On average I would figure around 3 amp charge rate. It would be nice if the legs had more vertical height adjustment, but its easy to set them on some blocks when the sun is lower.
As far as the negative reviews, I think Renogy has addressed most of them. My unit purchased in May 2022 direct from Renogy has sturdy well attached clamps, large sturdy leg mounting plastic blocks with large bolts, and the controller is attached to the frame with hinges with a velcro pad to hold it in place when folding it up.
When the panels are set up, the Voyager controller hangs down where you can monitor it. I’ve had no issues with the connectors, they seem sturdy to me, just don’t step on them when unit is set up. This updated Voyager controller does not have to be connected to the battery first then plugged in like previous models.
Just unfold and set up leaving the cables always connected, connect clamps to the battery and then set the battery type (critical). I purchased directly from Renogy on sale with a 5% off coupon code.
I think a lot of the units with bad reviews were purchased from Amazon or other sites where you may be getting a returned, damaged or refurbished unit sold as new. This is a problem when buying from Amazon.
With expensive, fragile items, I usually always buy direct from the manufacturer to avoid this. Plus the manufacturer will be much more helpful with issues when buying direct. I will be using 2 high quality, high amp hour AGM deep cycle batteries charged independently when boondocking on my remote property.
Where the camper sits is pretty shaded, so the solar panel and extra battery will be up the hill in full sun when recharging. Just make sure you figure your electrical needs carefully as you may need the 200 watt unit.
The latest version of this suitcase (with no charge controller) no longer comes with a hinged mounting plate on the back of the suitcase to attach your own charge controller. Previous versions did as seen in many public pictures/videos.
There are now simply 6 empty holes in the top frame of the suitcase where previously a mounting plate was attached. Only the more expensive suitcase model that comes with Renogy’s charge controller and other extra wiring has this mounting plate now.
Please be aware of this if the mounting plate feature is important to you and you buy direct from Renogy. The latest stock they have of this suitcase version does not come with the charge controller mounting plate.
I have my own charge controller and wanted to attach it to the built-in mount that I thought was going to be included. I will have to figure out an alternate way to attach my charge controller to the suitcase.
Otherwise, this seems to be a good product, although a bit heavy at 20+ lbs.
I have used this suitcase product once so far, and it works very well. I use it as a supplement to the built-in rooftop 190W panel on the roof of my trailer. Because I can’t point the rooftop panel toward the sun it takes days to fully charge my 2X6V golf cart battery pack.
When I connect the suitcase directly to my battery (via the included solar controller) and point it at the sun, the combination of both batteries charged the battery in a few hours. The only reason I haven’t given this purchase 5 stars is the fact that one of the alligator clips fell apart as I disconnected it from the battery.
The rivet holding the two sides together simply popped out. Customer support says they are sending me a new one. Given the apparent quality of the rest of the system I am surprised at the flimsiness of the alligator clips.

I installed this on my 30ft toyhauler just before hunting season in Colorado. I hunt in November and it tends to get a little cold in the mountains and we were in temps below 10 degrees overnight. I installed just like the manual said, wasn’t as easy as it could have been but that is because I chose to run the wires from for the charge controller in an inconspicuous location which made things more difficult.
The only thing is I wish they included the inline fuses that are needed and that is why i gave it 4 stars. So I have 2 – 12 volt deep cycle batteries (122 AMP hour) on the trailer which is adequate to run the furnace through the night even at temps around zero.
The 200 Watt panel kit was able to bring my batteries from 11. 6 volts in the morning to a full charge by mid day around 14. 2 volts mind you while it was still powering the furnace and the other draws like radio and smoke and lp detectors.
My panels are installed directly flat on the roof. I am impressed to say the least even seams to be able to charge on the cloudy days. But i put it to the test for 8 days of straight camping in November in Colorado and at no time did i feel that i needed to start the generator.
The other best thing about these is no more trying to remember to go put a charger on my batteries inthe winter to keep them up these should do just fine. I am also planing on putting float chargers connected off an inverter to keep my atv batteries up while while inside the trailer over winter to keep them up as well.
Also no more need to plug the trailer in before we head out on a trip. If you are like me and prefer to boondock in mother nature for this price it is a must have.
I’ve had these on the roof of my camper for over 3 years now. They work AWESOME. Self installation was pretty easy, although it’s not simply something the average Joe can just throw up there. You do need some basic electrical knowledge and be VERY intimate with the inner-workings of your RV to do a clean install.
I added a 2nd deep cycle battery and 3500W inverter. At some point I’ll likely switch to golf cart batteries, but for now the 12v deep cycle batteries are doing just fine. This year I FINALLY replaced the batteries in the camper after more than 5 years.
Without these solar panels and the charge controller, the batteries would Never have lasted as long as they did. These are the perfect addition if you dry or boondock camp. I take a generator with me, but short of needing the RV’s Air Conditioner, the solar setup keeps the batteries charged for everything else.
I installed three panels on a small camp trailer. found I still had space for two more panels in the future. They are relatively light weight and are producing 16 amps at 1,600 ft in the heat in Phx.
(should net almost 20 amps in the cool mtns at 7,000 ft. ) I had hoped the controller would have shown more at a glance and wish it had a selectable backlight since at times it is hard to see. I question whether it is a true PWM.
The Grape Solar 200-Watt Off-Grid Solar Panel Kit is ideal for a variety of applications, including RVs, boats, 12 Volt battery charging, small pumps, charging small electronic devices and operating LED lights.
Made with high efficiency crystalline solar cells for years of service, this solar kit is easy to install and virtually maintenance free. An anodized aluminum frame and a sealed junction box make the panel weatherproof for outdoor use.
A two diode bypass minimizes power drop caused by shade. You can easily add additional panels for more power. This system will provide approximately 600 Watt Hours or 50 Amp Hours of charge per day. The kit includes: 2pc 100-Watt Polycrystalline solar panels, a 35 Amp Xantrex charge controller, Xantrex 450 Watt modified sine inverter with two AC outlets, Cables and manual.
Great quality and packed well. Easy to install instructions. Bought 2 additional Grape Solar panels. One thing to know is that this kit and panels do NOT come with mounting brackets. You will need to purchase them separate.
And unless the panels are close to your inverter you will need extension solar power cords.
The panels leaked water into them after 3 years and Grape Solar is no help with warranty. Two of my four panels of there’s have noticeable water and corrosion happening inside. I didn’t modify them Olin any way.
I mounted them on the side of the garage with the existing holes, but they leak. I highly recommend another company.
I installed the 200W system to manage two lights and a 12v battery in my barn. The system worked perfectly in the summer and charged to 100% each day. However, as the weather changed in the NW it dropped off dramatically.
I added another 100w panel to minimal effect. End result is the system on charges to about 30% each day and the lights only run about 4hrs. Terrible in low light or overcast days as we see all winter long.

I’ve installed two kits on homemade houseboats. Installing was straight forward and pretty much everything you need is included. Not sure of loads or anything but I can have the radio cranking and lights on (all 12v and led) for hours and hours and barely make a dent in the batteries.
2. 5 years on the first and 2 years on the second, still going strong.
I installed this solar kit on the top of our slide-in truck camper. Installation was easy with easy-to-follow instructions. It has fully charged the deep cycle 12 volt battery with no problems. It would be an added benefit to have a light on the controller read-out.
We have not fully tested the system since we haven’t gone camping since I installed it, but it appears that it will keep the battery at full charge. It will be great to be independent from the truck’s electrical system.
I may add another 30W panel at some point just to recharge the battery a little quicker.
It’s working great so far. I am charging a single 92ah AGM battery daily (in sunny FL) for use with my desktop computer/monitor/printers with the panels mounted on my van roof. Installation was straightforward and the 20 amp controller seems to handle bulk and maintenance charging well.
I’m just a couple weeks in so can’t speak to the longevity yet. I will likely add an electric food cooler soon which I’m sure this kit will power as well.

I didn’t realize how much extra in tools and accessories (wire, connectors, etc. ) I would need to put the system together according to instructions. Instructions aren’t comprehensive for a Do It Yourself person.
One panel was delivered shattered (there were visible footprints on the box). To FactoryPure’s credit, I got a replacement quickly, but the replacement looks quite different than the other two panels.
I realized at time of installation that my other two panels were damaged, as well. They had been hit on one end with something hard that put a small crease in the frame. The damage created some discoloring running down the middle and full length of the panels.
I tested them and they’re giving the proper output, so I didn’t try to have them replaced. The panels are installed in a visible location and they don’t look good. Just a note to Do It Yourself types, you’ll need to have more than a rudimentary knowledge in electrical systems, parts and testing or the or the desire to spend the countless hours in time and money to learn.
I gave two stars because of the panels. The packaging wasn’t adequate to protect the panels from a minimal amount of rough handling. Also, no where on the packaging did it indicate the contents contained glass, may be fragile or deserve special handling.
Great beginner pack. I have solar power now and Im super happy with the kit. There are a couple of things that won’t come with the kit. You will need 3 fuses in all. Its not needed but recommended. Save your gear! 1.
ANL fuse to match the inverter. For instance for the 3000 watt inverter one would need a 250 anl fuse between battery and inverter. Check there website for specifics. 2. 2 ATC fuses depending on solar kit size for example 2 20 amp fuses for a 12 volt system at 200 watts.
One between panels and controller, and one between controller and battery. I would of given this 5 stars but finding out I had to have all these fuses after I had travelled out to the site with my kit was a huge time waster so I hope this helps someone before the fact.
The inverter works fine. The fan turns on and off every minute however I don’t know if thats how its suppose to work or not. It is climate controlled. Not a problem for me. All in all Im happy I bought this Kit.
its the beginning of a beautiful relationship with the sun!.
I installed this on a hand wash trailer used for fire camps and disaster relief. It was an easy installation, Directions were straight forward and easy to follow. I am so satisfied with this solar package I ordered a second one.
The Renogy 200W Solar Starter Kit is easy for you to install, and it is the most economical choice for solar beginners. This Renogy Solar Kit includes the equipment necessary for building a new system: a solar panel, a charge controller, needed electrical wiring, Solar Y Branch Connectors and Z-brackets, making it an ideal choice for both off-grid and mobile solar power applications.
This Starter Kit will produce an average of 1000Wh of electricity per day (Based on 5 hours of direct sunlight conditions). The 100W solar panel doesn’t take up much roof space, but its energy can offset loads such as lighting, camera, and projector.
With the Wanderer Li 30A PWM Charge Controller, the kit can meet your further power needs by adding more of the same solar panels to expand up to 400W. The Starter Kit can build a reliable and environmentally friendly power supply, perfect for RVs, campers, boats, sheds, and cabins.
It can also be installed as a power supply for outdoor appliances and emergencies, and as a stand-alone power system.
Unlike traditional gas generators, Renogy’s Flexible Kits will silently charge your batteries and ensure they’re topped off just right. Our new 200W Flexible panels are thin, lightweight and take up minimal space.
I bought this to use with my small teardrop camper. Lightweight, versitile. For now I am going to mount in a lightweight wooden frame to make sure I capture all the sun I can. It may end up being mounted on my camper someday.
Time will tell. This package was also the best value for a solar kit at the time of my purchase – while still having outstanding performance.
Very easy installation. Instructions were easy to understand. Bought the inline fuses & battery temp sensor separately, as I did not know they did not come standard with panels & the Voyager controller.
But, it all went together easily & is working great on my 35 foot sailboat. Mounted on top of my bimini with straps.
Bought this kit to keep the batteries topped off while out cruising the Pacific Northwest. Easy to install, light enough to mount the panel on top of my spray dodger. While not needed it is easy to store below.
I use magnets with 20 lb pull to hold the panel in place. Should be enough charge to keep all my gizmos going.
The RV Kit is great for off-grid applications, such as silently recharging your batteries so you can enjoy the great outdoors without the extra noise. This kit comes with the tools necessary for a new adventure: 2 Renogy 100W 12V Monocrystalline Solar Panels, a 30A Charge Controller, a 40ft 10 AWG MC4 Adaptor Kit , a 16ft 10AWG Tray Cable, one pair of branch connectors, and two sets of Z-brackets.
Start your solar adventure with a Renogy Starter Kit.
This is a basic system for minimal usage and for keeping batteries charged in your RV. No need to plug in the trickle charger every month. The included controller monitors charge output and keeps the system from overcharging.
Be advised that this system will not support appliances such as refrigerator, coffee maker or microwave. For that you will need a larger system. Note you still have to run your generator, if included in your coach, to keep our currently provided cheap fuel from gumming up the carburetor.
The panel includes MC4 leads that extend from the junction box affixed to the back. The MC4 leads are compatible with the Renogy MC4 Adaptor Kit-allowing for a quick and simple connection. Each Renogy 200-Watt Monocrystalline Solar Panel is quality tested to ensure safety and longevity.
Built durable for outdoor use, these panels are capable of withstanding heavy snow and strong wind loads. Whether you plan to use the solar panel for seaside travels to the beach or your cabin in the mountains, this panel can be a great start or addition to any Renogy off-grid system.
I purchased 2- 200 Watt 12 Volt Monocrystalline Solar Panels, Rover Li 30 Amp MPPT Solar Charge Controller, 1000W 12V Pure Sine Wave Inverter, cables, mounting brackets, & all wiring. I would say I’m totally satisfied.
Installation was easy & straightforward. Customer service & tech support was excellent. They helped in correctly sizing my system & making sure all necessary items were bought. 1 solar panel was damaged in shipping, Renogy immediately shipped out a replacement panel, it arrived quickly.
They are very responsive to customer needs. I am very satisfied with the results.
Bought one of these to start out with, then bought another & then another for a small DIY van/RV/off-grid tool shed solar roof application. The panels are great, they work beautifully, they are well made/very good quality all around.
One panel was damaged in shipment by the carrier, Renogy’s customer service was great, they made the entire RMA/replacement process super simple, quick and easy. I would buy from Renogy again and therefore I highly recommend them, thanks.
Living on the Oregon coast, we are putting together a solar generation system as a partial “solution” for a potential Cascadia earthquake/tsunami event that could leave us “in the dark” for weeks or even months.
We decided to go primarily with Bluetti products. The first pieces of the puzzle are an EB150 sogen (AC300/B300 coming later) and one PV200 solar panel. These are all we have now, these two pieces. But a couple days ago I decided to test out what we had.
It was about 60F and mostly sunny skies when we tested this, on October 2 at about 46N latitude. Once I figured out to move these around (fold one panel over, carry the panel on either side, move around) and set the kickstands to a 45 degree angle (the sun was lower in the sky but this was intended to be a “quick and dirty” test) in a place where the panel was in full sun, facing south southeast at 11:30 AM.
I know that under close to ideal conditions, you may get 80% efficiency (that is, for every 100 watts the panel is rated for, you may get 80 watts of usable output). You may get a bit more under really ideal conditions and positioning; often you may get a fair bit less.
Once I hooked it up and put into the EB150’s input, I could see a very impressive input coming in, usually 155-160 watts — and that was without a lot of fine tuning to peak it! The video is a short clip to show what I was getting.
Also I tested partial shading, and unlike many other panels where the entire panel/array can lose almost everything with a little bit of shade, these don’t. They have four sections wired in parallel, so if one of them is shaded, the other three still produce well.
These panels are expensive — these are not intended for long term permanent installation (you want rigid panels for those). But for camping, for RVing, boondocking, or just occasional emergency use when you don’t need solar panels out all the time, it looks like these are doing a wonderful job.
If I need to update over time, I will do so, but my initial impression of the performance of these panels is very good.
Review for: BLUETTI PV120 120W Solar Panel for AC200P/EB70/EB55/AC50S Solar Generators, Foldable Portable Solar Power Supply with Adjustable Kickstand, Off Grid System for Outdoor Adventure, Road Trip, EmergencyYou want to use a power station with this or a solar charge controller/full setup.
What’s interesting about this one is that it doesn’t have the regular USB/phone charging inputs. It only has a box and you need a power station for any of those inputs. I don’t need them but that might be a con for someone who wants to use the panel to charge anything without a power station.
Pros=120w is what is key here. I had two 100w and I’m upgrading to this one and a 2nd one I have. =second best feature I’d say is the % angle tilt built in. I have a digital angle measure device for this purpose but it’s easier to have some idea already.
Make sure you look up your location and the time of year to see where you should point it and what angle. Don’t just use some default setting. Make sure it’s ready at the start of day to charge. =A 120-inches long charging cable with an MC4 connector -> is the best I’ve seen so far on a portable solar panel.
Make sure you factor that into the cost. =I’m in love with the girl on the second photo. =This is the only one I’ve seen mention IP65 waterproof. IP rated as “dust tight” and protected against heavy seas or powerful jets of water.
Cons=not a fan of the plastic handles vs. the rubber handle fold-up ones. =price on this is pretty high despite not having a solar charge controller. My other one for $300 include sa solar charge controller.
Ok I’m impressed. This is a real nice briefcase panel I plan on using with my camper. It folds up and has a bag on the back for the MC4 cable. There are kickstands with 3 levels of adjustments to better face the panel towards the sun.
It does not include a solar controller, so I paired it with a decent 20A solar controller. It connects via the attached cable with MC4 connector ends. I tested it on a clear sunny fall day, face it directly towards the sun (using the handy kickstands) and measured 23.
6v open circuit. However, I didn’t really expect to get a full 26v open circuit they state. I could have been off a few deg or there may have been some haze, my shadow etc etc. Where I was happy was where I think it counts.
When connected to my controller and battery, I measured 21. 7v while it was pumping 10+A to charge my battery. Very small sag. I expect it will charge up my group 29 Deep cycle quickly. For giggles It was heavily overcast (just rained) and dusk.
I could still get 15v with a load. Enough to charge things a bit. One feature I like is the handle is strong plastic that I can put a lock through. I suspect they would have to break the panel to or cut the lock.
That should stop most opportunistic thieves as many campgrounds. I am looking forward to using this this summer. I can take the generator but suspect I will not need it.

I use the panel to help charge my EcoFlow power bank. It was easy to connect into my existing power configuration. This solar panel is rugged and well constructed. The connectors are robust and firmly attached, and easily connect into a serial setup.
I am using it to supply some of my power needs at home, and will also be using it when I go boondock camping. Very pleased with this panel. With the December Sun low in the sky, I am drawing 88 watts per hour from it.
Coupled with others, this panel recharges my 1256 watt power bank in a few hours. I will be buying three more.
It’s of decent size and of durable material. Has anchor holes in the backside of frame to afix it to a wall or other solid surface. Although it doesn’t come with any connecting cables, I was able to find the ECO DC 5.
5mmx2. 1mm 18AWG MC4 Connector Solar Panel Adapter Cable for solar panel to power charger pack for a reasonable price.
I only have (2) of these panels, but so far I’m impressed with both the output & the quality. These were slightly less to buy than similar panels & seem to perform just as well. I’d certainly buy again if needed, and recommend to anyone with DIY projects requiring 100W solar panels.
Two Renogy 100Watt monocrystalline solar Panels(total 200Watts). 1 30Amp PMW Charge Controller(Charge Controller With basic function only, higher end available on store). MC4 Adaptor KIT. 100 watt monocrystalline solar panel charges 12v battery.
Withstand high wind (2400 Pa) and snow loads (5400 Pa) & Excellent performance in low light environments.
The Renogy 200W Lightweight Monocrystalline Solar Panel enhances module efficiency while minimizing its weight. It is the perfect option for any off-grid solar system, especially for transportation applications such as RVs and boats.
This solar panel frame features a lightweight substrate and laminate, perfect for outdoor applications. This solar panel combines high efficiency (PERC) monocrystalline solar cells with half-cut cell technology to improve electrical performance and power generation efficiency.
This panel comes with pre-drilled mounting holes, solar connectors, and a junction box that allows easy and fast installation.
Weight was my concern and reason for purchase. Bought 4. They work well and produce the power as advertised. Issue I have is with mounting, I had to use 3” eternabond tape to tape down to the rubber roof of our 5th wheel rv.
The dislike is I would have preferred to actually mount it using the 6 eyelets on the panels. I could have rigged some roof mount system but the eyelets are too small for the standard “strut” systems.
The eyelets only allow #10 size bolts. It would be better it they would accept 1/4 -20 bolts. So Renogy should either “engineer” some mount system so the panels are removable and can be affixed to rv roofs, or increase the eyelet hole size to accept industry standard bolt hardware so we the end user can engineer a removable mount system.
I was debating between these and a more efficient rigid panel for a 37 foot sailboat. I decided to save weight and purchased 2 of these flexible panels and affixed them to an ABS frame I built. After almost a week at anchor my expectations were exceded.
We ran a 12 volt fridge, 4 cabin fans and a few lights and our 200ah bank would drop to between 70 and 80 % overnight. By 9 am our batteries were fully topped off everyday and the panels powered everything during the day.
I also contacted customer service several times and while wait times take a while once you get someone on the phone they are extremely helpful and understanding. In truth I was reluctant to go with Renogy but now I highly recommend them.
You’ll never doubt you are getting the most out of your system with Renogy’s 200W Monocrystalline/Polycrystalline Starter Kit Mppt. Designed to draw out your system’s potential, this kit includes our 20A Mppt charge controller which uses Maximum Power Point Tracking technology, transferring power up to 30% more efficiently than PWM charge controllers.
