A 2 stage air compressor is a great investment for anyone who uses air tools frequently. The two stage air compressor is designed to compress air in two stages, which results in more powerful and efficient air compression.
The two stage air compressor is also much quieter than a single stage air compressor, making it ideal for use in a home workshop.

I searched online and while Rural had a great price, it was a little misrepresenting. The Dewalt DXCMV5048055 is what I searched for and thought I was purchasing. Rural King seems to have a different model with a.
1 at the end of the stock number. The difference is the model I thought I was buying has two air hose connections and a pressure regulator neatly mounted on the top of the tank. The model I received does not have this.
I take full responsibility for not noticing the number difference and not clicking on the picture to see that the tank was different. But imagine my disappointment when it arrived. I am sure the compressor is fine, but I wish I had purchased it elsewhere.
At almost $300 in shipping a return is not feasible. Buyer beware and do your homework.
Bought this to replace an old air compressor that was drawing its last breath. Needed power to run sand blaster and air tools. Thus one fit the bill without breaking the bank. Really impressed! One word of advice.
If you need home delivery those big trucks cannot come on your property so you need to have a way to move 500 lbs. from curb to garage. We picked ours up at the FedEx dock and had them use the fork lift to set it in the bed of our pick up.
Engine hoist and a bit of redneck inginuity got it out of the truck and into the shop.

Ive had the air compressor a couple months now and I really like. It works just fine for my needs. The only thing is the drain valve at the bottom darn near touches the floor, kind of a bad design. Other than that I would recommend it.
This new compressor provides all the air volume and pressures you will need. I anticipate I will not last as long as this compressor. I purchased a similar Campbell Hausfeld “Excaliber” air compressor over 25 years ago and it still works.
It never burned oil and it did not require high maintenance. The cast iron piston sleeves and aluminum block I think is genius. It served me well but it was no longer provided the PSI I needed to get full nail penetration with my nail gun.
It was time to give my old compressor a backup. My old air compressor will still be reliable and will be used to inflate tires and inflatable pool toys.
Have had this for closer to a year, have used it for various home garage enthusiast projects, keeps up well even with a portable sandblaster gun. I would not purchase it for a commercial use unless it’s just for airbrushing or some other use other than multiple persons at once or auto painting but it can paint small things like a fender or something like that.
I did have a 20 amp breaker installed on its own circuit to use it for 110v but i tried it on a regular 15 amp and had no issues i imagine if it were to run constantly while you are doing something you should book it up to 240 which i may have it done that way in the future Used a diegrnder, imoact gun, rivit gun, sandblaster gun, right angle socket wrench, grease gun, air blower to blow leaves out of my driveway, each time it was fine!.

Time to fill tank from empty to full 60 seconds. Recovery time from 95 PSI to 125 PSI 20 seconds. Easy to transport as it only weighs 67. 2-lbs.
I love this thing. It’s just what I was looking for. I wanted a quiet, small, and light compressor for my bench where I build and repair vintage tube amps mainly to blow off debris that gathers inside the chassis.
This is exactly what I was looking for. At first, I thought it was leaking air, although I couldn’t hear the hiss, but the compressor was cycling on as the air pressure was going down. I removed the blower tool on the hose, and it held air.
So, the problem wasn’t the compressor. Shipping was lighting speed as I live across the US and normally it takes 5 days to receive anything from the West Coast. But I had this in 2 days. It worked without a hitch right out of the box.
I will say this compressor is for small jobs, if you need more air or cfm, buy a bigger compressor. But the noise level of this thing is fantastic now if I only had a shop vac that was this quiet.
This two-stage industrial air compressor is designed for the serious professional. It is powered by a heavyweight 5 HP tops motor featuring a Thermal Overload Protection system that protects it from voltage fluctuations.
This heavy-duty machine has a 175 maximum PSI, able to operate a variety of tools and maintain longer run times. A patented pump and piston design provides cooler operation. This air compressor features patented deep-grove directional, asymmetrical cooling fins and a patented cast-iron flywheel design with large extended fins for improved cooling and low-pump RPM.
This compressor replaced a single stage so I was expecting it to be very noisy. I was surprised that it is quieter than my previous one. It is very quick to get from 150 to 175psi. The requirements for electrical say you need a 50 amp breaker but I am running a 40 amp with no problem.
DeWalt says it draws 30 amps so I have 10 gauge wire running to it. It is heavy and tall. They dropped the pallet in my driveway. 400+lbs. By the time I got it out of the shipping stuff my son and I were able to move it.
Did a lot of research on which air compressor to buy. Very difficult to do just looking at specs. Found that noise levels stated buy mfgs. may not always be accurate? This one is quiet when put into a sound insulated closet (vented to outside) Does need to have a drier of some sort added.
Very happy with the purchase. This same compressor is marketed under different brand names. Also purchased oil and filter kit that extends the warranty.
Easy to order from the website. Shipping took longer than I would like but it did come from Minnesota (to Calif). Very top heavy was a pain to get unit off the pallet. Once in position, easy to connect all lines.
This unit was quieter than I expected and welcomed. I would recommend this distributer and air compressor. Shipping company went out of their way to deliver the compressor within feet of the final location.
It utilizes its ability to deliver air at 175-PSI (Pressure Per Square Inches) to effectively power more than one air tool or device simultaneously. The expertly engineered 5. 2-Horse-Power, 240-Volts electric motor is fitted with a TOPS Thermal Overload Protection System that protects the motor from Voltage fluctuations.

It has been specifically designed with a conveniently integrated control panel that includes tank and working pressure gauges, airflow regulator, two quick-connect air outlets and a pressure relief valve.
The 80-Gallon ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) air receiver holds more air for longer run times on multiple air tools.
I ordered the -Stage DeWALT DXCMV5048055, 5-HP 80-Gallon Two Air Compressor IN 06/2016. After about six months in service the compressor stopped working. I called the DeWALT 1-888-895-4549 for service to repair the compressor.
After speaking with the customer representative I was told that it could be either a switch or motor. I was then given two different phone numbers (919-878-0357 DeWALT Factory Store & 919 856-0050 J&S Tool Repair) in my area for repairs, one was a DeWALT service center and a second was an independent operator.
I was also told that I should call the DeWALT service first because they like to handle their own warranty calls. After speaking to the DeWALT Factory Store I was told that they do not service this model and they do not make onsite service calls, however I could bring it in and they would take a look a look at it.
This compressor weights 500 lbs. , bolted to the floor and hard wired to the electrical system (bring it in, you got to be kidding me). I called J&S and they were glad to help me, after taking all of my information I discovered that the compressor was not manufactured by DeWALT but another company and place the DeWALT name on it.
I believe this compressor is manufactured by Powermate and the warranty is covered by them. This is the reason DeWALT does not repair this item. No where in the DeWALT product Features & Specs or Warranty does it mention they do not manufacture or cover the warranty on this product.
I have purchased & used the DeWALT line of tools for over twenty years, this is the first item that I have had warranty work done on any item. After this problem I will now look at other brands and their warranties.
I feel that I can no longer trust the DeWALT brand.
I’ve only had my DeWalt 5-HP 80-Gallon Two-Stage Air Compressor for a couple weeks. I didn’t appreciate that in order to maintain the warranty, I had to hire a “licensed Electrician” to hook it up. The compressor is a little louder than I thought it would be.
The drain valve is kinda cheap so I replaced it with a 90 degree street fitting and a 1/4″ ball valve. As another review stated it could have come with a 3/4″ pipe plug for the side hook up. Another minor cost and inconvenience.
Needs an hour meter to keep track of scheduled maintenance intervals. So enough of the bad. Performance wise, it meets all my expectations. I can run my die grinder nonstop and never wait for air. I haven’t given it a good work out yet but do not anticipate any problems when I start sandblasting.
I really like the built in line regulator. Very convenient when you don’t need dry unfiltered air. I will be adding a drying system.
I did a LOT of research before buying this DeWalt compressor. For the money and quality you can’t beat it. I opted to purchase the Maintenance Kit which I highly recommend as it doubles your warranty out to 4 years.
one of the best warranties in the business. The compressor itself does everything as advertised. This is a great product and would recommend it to anyone. And at about 500 lbs. it is not a cheesey flimsy unit ! Heavy metal all around.
Designed for heavy-duty air use, this 80 Gal. 5 HP 175 PSI 2-Stage Stationary Electric Air Compressor is ideal for home or work use. The cast iron construction adds durability and dependability and helps promote a smooth operation.
The HP TOPS motor protects the motor from unexpected voltage fluctuations.
No magnetic starter required. This compressor comes complete with everything you need to optimize your work and minimize down time with 18. 5 cubic feet per minute at the rate of 100 pounds per square inch.
The compressor arrived on a pallet covered with a plastic bag. I noticed that there was a lot of oil on the inside of the bag and thought that maybe it leaked out during shipping. After setting up in the shop and wiping it down, I noticed that the compressor drain pipe cap was not sealing.
I tightened as much as I dared, but it still leaks and runs down the tank. Other than that, it seems that the on/off switch is a little flimsy plastic. Hope it last.
Ok, so I was afraid this compressor would be too noisy for my application, as I have close-ish neighbors and I don’t want to limit my use when they are not at home, etc. I did put the compressor in an enclosure, but this enclosure is made from 1/2″ plywood to keep it out of sight, protected, and knock down the sound a bit.
Well that worked out and the noise that remains is more of a low thump-thump, so it’s not as annoying. I like the extra coolers, and I like the performance. I also like the full 3. 4″ feed. I run 3/4″ to my dryer/filter for my spray guns and there is just zero lag and zero droop when I spray.
I can run my 6″ Dynabrade DA all day and the 318 cycles maybe 30% of the time. Of course, it is clear that this compressor will last longer than I do.
I looked and looked for a compressor that would supply enough CFM for my new cabinet sand blaster. It had to have the CFM but it had to have 220C-AC single phase and not draw more than 30 amps. I was afraid my 30 amp breaker wouldn’t be enough but it is and it works great.
It fired right up and delivers 90 PSI and doesn’t run out of air while blasting away. I do need to get an air dryer on it to keep the sand dry- I noticed the sand is packing a little.

After doing much research before deciding on a compressor for my shop, I feel great about my decision. Along with its powerful American brand this compressor is more than enough to power up all my shop tools and air needs that I will have.
The extended warranty they offer, when using their correct oil/ filter start up kit makes it a no-brainer. The twin cylinder, cast iron pump is definitely a step above other compressors found at many stores.
I purchased this compressor about a year ago. The compressor operates dependably and appears to be well made. My one complaint has to do with the location of the tank’s drain valve – at the bottom of the tank.
My compressor is floor mounted so you have to kneel down and reach under the compressor’s stand to feel for the drain valve. The valve itself has a tiny knurled knob which is at times difficult to turn.
The operations manual states you should do this daily which I do – I just wish it were more convenient.
Ingersoll Rand, the world leader in air power, is bringing the power to you to tackle any project you may have with the two-stage air compressor. Whether it’s inflating tires, powering air tools, or blowing glass, this air compressor will give you what you need for any task.

Purchased aircompresser, loaded onto trailer, brought home, tried to use and my results were: not only was the pressure switch bad, it kept blowing off all the blowoff valves and we realized it was a USED aircompressor and was not told that it was a return.
(For obvious reasons)loaded it back on a trailer, drove 45 miles to the next store, returned this aircompressor and bought the identical one. Came home to try it and although this one was brand new and not a return we had the pressure valve issue once again! Contacted the company the next business day and they sent a brand new and better quality valve then the air compressor came with! Once we put the new pressure valve on, it worked great! However, this is not a 20 pound piece of equipment! We were hauling around several hundred pounds each time! Then had to travel to get another one! It was ridiculous that they would even put such a junky valve on in the first place! This was the most expensive compressor! And tractor supply should have informed us that it was a return! We paid on electrician on a saturday only to find out they both were junk! We were never comped by tractor supply for any inconvenience!.
I bought mine to do serious compressor work, air tools polishing stone. I went with the synthetic oil as recommended, compressor worked great. Now my season was only 3 months in the summer so when I start I never stop for more than a day so I never noticed that all the time it was leaking air.
So months later i know it full of air and I go out to find no air!!! Well I’m no dope andi get my soapy water out and start leak hunting and can’t find a leak. Now it goes from a full tank to no air in three days, and no leaks??? where is the air going? it must be going back through the valves! Next time a quincy!!!.
The Ingersoll Rand 2475 builds air fast and keeps up with any job my shop tackles. It isnt very quiet so i would recommend not having it in your shop area if possible. Make sure you buy the startup kit with the compressor otherwise youll be waiting two weeks for oil like I did (my fault).
Ingersoll Rand utilizes over 140 years of experience to bring you the best quality in compressed air. Applications include automotive services and body shops, fleet maintenance, machine shops, production and manufacturing lines, woodworking shops, dry cleaners, car washes, general maintenance, repair shops and farms.

Expected pump life: 15, 000 hr. 100 Percent continuous duty nema 1 starter on most units asme tank with manual drain and discharge isolation valve must be hardwired.
After 40 years, I finally decided to splurge and replace my very reliable old 2hp Quincy compressor. I needed more air volume to run my sand blasting equipment. So I researched the heck out of them and splurged and bought a real dandy! My criteria was: It had to be 220volt 10 HP, have heavy duty cast iron cylinders, crank & rod bearings, run at low rpm with high CFM, and be quiet.
I also knew I wanted 120 gallon air tank, and it had to be MADE IN AMERICA!Well, this certainly fits the bill 100%. What a beast!. and I mean that in the nicest possible way. It is certainly heavy duty.
And, I cannot believe how quiet this baby is. VERY NICE! The customer service at EMAX is outstanding. Real live bodies that speak perfect English and know their product. a huge win-win for their customers.
I purchased it online from Compressors Direct and they were great to deal with. Real straight shooters with no jerking you around. They told me up front that it would be a couple of months. No different than any other big ticket items these days.
Always go with the biggest tank to get the most out of your compressor. For the price, it should include an hour meter. I guess they do offer one as an accessory, but I didn’t see it and will order one online and install it so I can do maintenance on time.
Compared to the compressor it replaced it is about 1/2 as loud. Compared to a rotary screw compressor I own at another location I have it is about twice a loud as that one but less then 1/2 the price.
So that is all what I expected. My only complaints are. 1. I was told it was in stock when I ordered it but it still took 3 months. Really? 2. Two fittings were left loose from the factory and leaked air at startup.
No big deal. 3. No owners manual included. Had to go on line and down load. It was not easy to find. This compressor has a unique feature called continuous run. I havent used it yet but I can see it being very valuable for certain situations.
FYI this compressor is about 750 lbs in the box. That presented a few challenges to getting to its intended location.
I did a lot of research and this compressor had a lot of great features for the cost and seemed to have a good reputation. The silent option was the first I had heard of this feature and it is really great.
It is a lot quieter than my last compressor. So far it seems to live up to my research and the good reviews. I had to add a continuous run valve on my last compressor after burning out a motor, so I was happy that it was already a feature added on this machine.
Everything seems great so far. Very robust industrial quality, with great added features, and the silent feature is awesome. All of this and it arrived with free shipping a week after I ordered it.

Industrial Air offers a full line ofelectric professional compressors. Industrial Air compressors include lightweight, portable contractor units, high volume, high capacity wheeled contractor units and high capacity industrial compressors to accommodate the highest demand.
Appears to be solidly built I only have 1. 5 hours on it. Had to tighten some fittings as it had slow leak. Pressure switch cuts out at 160 not 175, not a big deal as my regulators only go to 150. I do not think I will even pursue this issue.
Has good CFM does all I need air tools and painting. I bought the maintenance kit to extend warranty to 4 years. I also installed an hour meter to keep track of hours. So far all good.
I purchased this compressor to replace an overworked 2hp Eagle compressor. I have a small/medium sized shop. The Eagle (while also a good compressor) just could not keep up. I have only had the new compressor for about 6 weeks, but so far it has performed flawlessly.
Just today we were simultaneously running a small blast cabinet, powder coating booth, and laser engraver. No shortage of air and the compressor was working well short of 50% on time. It’s a beast! Also my desiccant drier now only needs to be recharged once a week instead of every other day.
Wish I had done this a long time ago. Shipping was less than a week to my door. Unit was well packed.
One problem I dislike was wiring. Everything suppose to be in conduit but yet the pressure switch does not have a knock out for conduit its seems to be set up for a clamp for pigtail. Went to lots problems to find out were this was made even though it looks like made in USA.
The tank is made in USA but the pump and motor are not the made in USA. Sticker says made in USA with some foreign parts. I had to call manufacturer to find out this info. Hopefully I have no problems do yourself a favor, if you buy this buy the maintenance kit to double the warranty.
It has 6 quarts oil 3 new belts and 3 new air filters.

Fan-type, cast-iron flywheel delivers a powerful flow of air across the inter stage inter cooler, cylinders, and aluminum head. Lower operating temperatures extend compressor life.
The air compressor arrived on time. Getting my ff the truck and then the pallet proved to more challenging. During shipping the pallet was crushed under one of the 3 legs. Which added to the challenge.
During the un packing an moving into it’s new resting place I discovered the drain fitting was broken on the bottom of the compressor likely done during the shipping when the compressor broke through the pallet.
Wiring the plug was a simple process other than the confined space under the pressure switch housing to fit all the wires. Aligning the housing cover back on took some patience to get the tab to align with the switch as part of the wiring process and reassembly.
Big you are not careful easy to break. Looking forward to putting it to work and report back.
This is by far getting better, I notice it runs less than the other 3 I had. It’s less noise for sure, my last one was a 5HP Husky that had a high sound of 91 decibels and my Quincy is 83 right at it but goes down the farther away you are but are about equally.
Whereas 91 goes down to 83 @ 30 and the 83 goes down to 63 decibels at 30. Runs a 1/4 of the time my other compressors ran. The only thing that would make it better is if it came with an hour meter. I purchased one from McMaster Carr was like $40.
00. I am so impressed with this compressor could have spent less for the big box store compressors but then I would just have to buy another in a few years. This buys far should have been done years ago.
The Campbell Hausfeld 20 Gallon, 2 HP, horizontal, portable air compressor (VT6290) can power a variety of air tools for the serious DIY user, professional or contractor. With a dual-voltage motor that can operate on either 120 V or 240 V current, this versatile air compressor can work in more locations.
The large semi-pneumatic wheels make this unit easy to move from one job to the next. Designed for quiet operation, the heavy-duty, cast-iron, two-cylinder pump is oil lubricated for a long life and delivers 5.
5 CFM at 90 PSI. Finish your projects faster and easier with Campbell Hausfeld – the air power expert.
First time purchase. Great price and customer service. The compressor was drop shipped from Campbell Housfield. Regulator was a received broken and need to be replaced which is easy to fix. The freight company apparently takes the pallet off the bottom of the box for the final local segment of the delivery and by lying it over apparently creates the damage to the compressor’ regulator.
It works great and real pleased with the purchase. It’s a lot quieter and more efficient than the oiless craftsman I replaced.
I bought this same C/H air compressor 20 years ago from the Montgomery Ward store in Parkersburg WV, before every one had pc’s or mac’s to order from on line. This has been one fantastic piece of equipment.
I sat it in the rear my garage, hooked it up through a filter into PVC lines to the front of the gArage to an overhead air reel and down the wall to a hose coupler. It does not get a lot of use in the winter, but I just leave it on all of the time in the summer it gets used almost daily by young people filling their four-wheeler tires.
And, I use it to run a few air tools. My son and his friends use it to work on their vehicles it still runs as good as when I bought it. All I have done to it is drain the water from the tank once in a while adjusted the belt and added a little oil to the compressor.
First the positive: the pump, motor, and tank quality are exactly what you would expect from a Campbell Hausfeld $570 purchase. The engineering is also good, as the belt shield also acts as a ducted air guide for the compressor and dissipates the heat efficiently.
The regulator and support were a disappointment. The regulator had a 35 lb. swing from load to no-load. I phoned the “contact us first” number on the product manual and was directed to a local “service center”.
My particular service center isn’t directly affiliated with Campbell Hausfeld and I’m not sure that any of the people there had actually ever used an air compressor. They spent much time telling me that this was normal and when I informed them my older unit didn’t do that they said the gauge was bad.
After learning it was warranty they said all they could do was box the unit up and return it to Campbell Hausfeld for repair. In the end I just plumbed in my older regulator from the original unit being replaced.
If I had it do over again I would have thought harder about just purchasing and pump and motor and refurbishing my original thirty year old unit.
Rolair D2002HPV5 Single Stage Air Compressor – A Compact Unit with Varied Features The Rolair 4. 5gal single stage air compressor packs in a powerful 2HP motor with a pancake tank. This compressor can run roofing guns, framing guns and finish guns efficiently.
This is fitted with a Square D pressure switch that has an on-off lever and has a regulator with an airline pressure gauge.
We have had this compressor for 25 years. This thing cant be stopped. This thing will run trim guns awesome. This thing can run one framing nailer in full auto Rambo style all day. This can also run two framing nailers just fine if one is just doing normal nailing.
The one we have has had torcher testing done many times at 90-95 deg running for three or four hours about non stop.
After a good amount of research, I decided on this rolair for my construction business. Wanted it light, reliable, and it has to start in the cold and run on 15 amp circuits. First time used was in 37 degrees and it wouldn’t start.
Went to my shop this morning and it was 50 degrees cause I turned the heat off and it started really really slow, like it wasn’t goint to. Plugged into a 30 amp circuit w/o an extension cord too. Called company, said to put a lower temp oil in.
But seemed concerned like it was a lemon or had a bent crankshaft. Was kind and helpful but I’m returning and unsure about trying the same one it’s such a poor performer. When it did run, it recovered fast and was generally quieter than most compressors I’ve heard.
Bought this about a month ago & have been using it consistently with NO issues whatsoever. Airs up quickly, maintains pressure, & replenishes supply accordingly. It’s a must have compressor long as it will satisfy your needs.
I use a three way splitter to run multiple tools simultaneously without it missing a beat. Obviously, very happy with purchase & ACME TOOLS delivered the goods flawlessly, quickly, & had the best price on the net at the time.

I bought another classic car project that will require a frame-off restoration. From past experience, my smaller compressor with 10 scfm rating, just cannot perform sandblasting. I knew that this beast with 24 cfm could do it easily because my brother has the same unit, and it has been flawless.
We both bought our I/R compressors at TSC and I couldn’t be happier with the performance of this compressor for sandblasting, operation of more powerful tools that require more cfm than the old compressor could provide, and I know that reliability is an integral part of I/R products.
TSC loaded the compressor onto my trailer and I used cargo straps that i purchased at TSC to secure the unit to my trailer to haul it home. You will need a loader or forklift to unload it, and wiring was simple since i already had wiring out of the garage wall from my retired compressor.
This unit operates rather quietly, easily sandblasts a rusty car frame, does not struggle to keep up when removing wheels from a tractor/trailer, and provides a sense of reliability/security with the power it has.
I strongly recommend this specific compressor for the DIY’er and i have no doubt that it would handle constant, industrial use for a professional shop.

Owned for almost 5 years now, Still starts up everytime! Still has good air flow. Only issues were throttle cable came off once, and a couple engine bolts came loose once. Not bad for 5 years running for hours 4 – 5 days a week.
IR compressors have been part of my life as a mechanic. But the last one I bought I had to remove the belt shield. The noise was crazy. I compared it to a discount store’s similar model and the cheapo compressor was a lot quieter with similar CFM output.
The new IR compressors shields don’t have as many screws as the old ones. Other than that. great compressor.

I am not sure when I purchased this air compressor, but the date on the tank says 2000, so about 19 years ago! I purchased it brand new at a tent tool sale. In the 19 +/- years that I have owned it, the only thing I have had to do, other than general maintenance is replacing the switch and the pressure relief valve! One of the best purchases I have ever made!.
My son and I started looking at 20 compressors and finally narrowed it down to the Puma Key for us was the 110 power. Although 220 is not a problem in our garage we were concerned about using it in other locations and liked the flexibility of 110 power.
The compressor arrived within the week, well package on a skid. Assembly took 10 minutes and then a trip to the hardware store for a quart of non detergent 30 weight oil. The compressor is quiet reaches its designated pressure quickly and is a joy to use.
So far no problems using it with automotive and woodworking tasks.
We used the compressor about two hours and it began to make a strange noise. Upon checking, the drive pulley was loose and wallowed out. The key had come out allowing the pulley to slip on the motor shaft.
The set screw also dug into the shaft. I had another pulley that fit so we are able to use it. The key lay in the bottom of the guard.
There are a few different types of two stage air compressors, each with their own benefits and drawbacks. For the money, a pancake compressor is typically the most affordable option. These compressors are lightweight and portable, making them ideal for small jobs around the house or workshop.
However, they may not have the power or capacity to handle more demanding tasks. A hotdog compressor is typically more expensive, but offers more power and a higher capacity. These compressors are ideal for larger jobs or projects that require more air.
