20 Best 12V Air Pump For Inflatables (2022 Updated)

I bought this air pump to inflate my 47-inch snow tube. I think it meets my expectation because it took about 3-5 minutes which is not too long to finish inflating. It has 3 different types of nozzles.

I feel like the default nozzle with the larger valve is quicker than the other 2 nozzles with the smaller valves. I don’t know if that is true because the instruction manual didn’t mention it. It is quite convenient because the size is not very big.

On the other hand, that means it will take longer to inflate larger objects like a boat or mattress. I can try to inflate birthday party balloons next time, but I need to be careful to not blow them up since it inflates quite quickly.

The nozzles cannot be used on basketball or soccer. Overall given the price, I think it is a good buy to help your life easier because I can never blow air into the big object myself or using a bicycle pump.

It would be better if there is a way or any indication to control the speed of the air flow.

This pump is small, compact, lightweight and should be used to pump up small things like pool tools, a small kids’ pool, an air mattress, or anything that you would blow up manually. This is definitely much better to use than causing yourself light-headedness and vertigo while fighting the urge to pass out.

What I absolutely love about this pump is that it comes with three different sized nozzles that fit most valves! And not only does it inflate, but it deflates too!! I just love this little pump. Being by myself, I have to do things on my own and anything that helps make my life a little bit easier is top of my list! I only gave it 4 stars because it is a little slow and it is noisy.

But I can live with both of those issues for what I get with this cute, gets-the-job-done pump! I received this product for an honest review and all opinions are my own.

I use this to inflate a 2 person Bestway Inflatable Kayak. With a basic single-stroke hand pump, it takes about 5 minutes to inflate one side tube. This pump will do the job in 45 seconds. Plus, since it is a relatively low-pressure pump, it CANNOT overinflate the kayak.

For the last. 5 pound of air pressure, I use the hand pump that came with the kayak. The assortment of nozzles that come with it did not fit my particular Bestway Kayak inflation tube, but I was able to make the tube fit the pump with just a little alteration.

Plus I love that it is 12V AND 120V. Wish the 12V cord was longer, but there are extension 12V cords available, or you can easily splice in a longer piece of light cord. Gets 4 stars, for now, we’ll see how long it holds up.

Purchased this inflator a month ago based on researching YouTube and other off-road forums. My first impressions: Love the color and the build – it feels solid and great quality. Came with a nice handy bag, though the quality of the bag needs to be seen.

Obviously, I didn’t buy it for the bag, so that is not a factor. I used it few times to get the deflators setup to the correct PSI and I am very impressed. It is quiet and seems to be filling up tires quickly.

The power source is from the vehicle battery – so basically you connect it to your vehicle battery terminals. I also tested it with an external battery source (that I use to charge my phones, power my dashcam and USB fan) and it worked great.

At the moment, I feel it was a great purchase plus came with FREE shipping. I don’t think anyone can go wrong with this product, based on my experience, and will be taking it on my off-roading and overlanding trips.

This is a powerful compressor, it attaches directly to your car battery because it draws too much power for a standard 12V power outlet to supply. This is my second one, I liket the first one so well I got one for my wife’s car.

It has a small muffler but i do not bother with it. The chuck screws on and off of the Schrader valve easily with little loss of air. The gauge on the first one failed but I just use a Bourdon tube gauge after slightly overfilling the tire so no big deal.

All of the parts fit nicely the carrying bag for neat stowage. Shipped promptly and arrived timely in good condition. Highly recommended.

No, im not filling 4 35’s at the same time, but im filling all 4 w/in about 18-20 mins (from 12-15psi up to 33), allowing me to secure and prep to head home after a day on the trails. i was going to go w/ an onboard system but was talked into this instead and im pleased.

it gets a little warm towards the end of using it, it takes a few minutes to cool off after use, but its quick and reliable. and very budget friendly. won’t lie, the name alone turned me off. seemed “gimmicky.

” I would happily buy another of these if mine ever craps out. so far, so good!.

VERY PLEASED WITH PRODUCT. I was surprised how quickly and easily this inflated all of our automobile tires. I only had to add 2-6 pounds per tire but only took about a second per pound (plugging this into home electric current, AC).

Extra nice automatic shut-off feature. Just set to the desired PSI and it stops when it reaches desired pressure. I haven’t tried DC (Car Battery) yet – but glad it has the feature so I can carry with me if needed.

I can attest it worked great on AC power – and easy enough to pull an extension cord from home electrical outlet to this unit sitting by my tires. Very Happy with this purchase.

My tire had the decency to pick up a screw while I was on my way to TSC to buy chicken feed. I just bought the van a week before, and had not yet supplied it with an emergency kit like I should have.

At most stores I would have been SOL, but fortunately, my tire went flat in the parking lot of a building that contained all the supplies I needed to get back on the road. One plug kit later, I was ready to try out my brand new tire pump.

This pump worked quickly, was quiet, and has a long enough power cable to reach the back tire of my E-150 van. I really liked the automatic cut-off at my desired pressure, and the nifty little cooling fan should ensure a longer lifespan for this pump.

The price was reasonable and, although I have not yet needed to use it again, I hope my future experiences with this tire pump are just as delightful.

I purchased this inflater to air into my bicycle tires. Using my Jeep as a source of power apparently was not compatible because I blew the inflater fuse within a minute. I did not return the item, but eventually I will buy a new fuse just in case I have something else that can be inflated, but with another power source.

Nice and compact. Like that you can preset air. With the weather change, tire pressure warning lights keep going off. This makes it easy to top off tire.

only one star because it requires you to put at least one. This pump smelled like it was burning after trying to inflate a raft for the pool. The raft is not very big. Plus the nozzle for filling the raft was large and I had to keep maneuvering it to fit in the hole.

It was hot to the touch and smelled like it was burning. I try to return and they want me to pay for the return and charge me because it is used. What kind of customer service is this? This is ridiculous.

I do not recommend this product.

The Intex 120V Quick Fill AC/DC electric pump does do the job of filling up am air mattress. My only issue is that the batteries seem to run out quickly, after only a few uses. I don’t care if I’m using name brand batteries, they still do not last but only a few uses, possibly 2 to 3 camping trips.

I just make sure I have plenty of batteries on hand when we go camping, just in case, because it definitely works better than hand pumping an air mattress.

I bought this at Target for about $30 dollars. We just purchased an inflatable kayak from Intex and heard to use this to speed up the process. I love that it has both the wall outlet and the car adapter.

Will help so much come time to fill this up on trips!.

bought it for my inflatable sea eagle fishing boat. the pig air pump is smaller in size than you think, but does the job very nicely : inflating and deflating. never got to understand the two release holes on the hose side, so from side you’re pumping air in and part of it is released immediately from the holes, but whatever.

the big problem is the small hose itself : it is cheap quality enough that if it is a little cold and you try to flatten or bend the hose less than delicately, it will crack in half. that’s what happened with me and walmart replaced the item within 48 hours which was really amazing.

I like to clean my tools and machines of dust and debris after cutting, planing and sanding wood for my projects. This is a wonder tool for cleanup. My vacuum always left some shavings and sawdust around and in my tools but this puppy will blow all the shavings and dust out along with blowing my clothes clean before going inside.

Oh yeah, it blew up my tube just fine.

This thing is hands down the way to go. multiple attachments makes sure it’s the right fit to inflate anything you own. The only issue is sometimes the inlet will accidentally get covered and cause unit to overheat.

Which isn’t a problem because the unit is equipped with overheat protection that automatically resets when unit has cooled. maybe a slightly longer hose since the units won’t always be flat on the ground while in use.

The pump operated well for less than 5 minutes. It then went into a shutdown. After cooling for a while, it was working again. On the deflation cycle, the same problem occurred — less than 5 minutes of deflation then it shut down.

Unfortunately, this amount of time is totally inadequate for a large inflatable. Instructions with the pump implied it should go for 15 minutes. I packed the unit in its original box and returned it to Target.

Bought for my 4 yr old son for Christmas. He loves it and says it is his favorite gift. Pretty good considering he also received a full size air hockey table. Very well made toy with cool light effects front and real.

Push one of the 3 buttons on top of the car and the guns fly out of their concealments on either side of the vehicle, fast as a switchblade knife. Really cool. Vehicle rolls very smoothly, is quite heavy.

My only gripe is that the Batman figure barely fits in the vehicle. It’s actually too big and my son ended up breaking off its head at the neck stem. Didn’t slow him down though. He just says he’s the Headless Batman.

Really nice car. Interestingly, the store had it for $50. Only one in stock at Christmastime. Went home, ordered it online from WalMart for $30. Went back the next day to pick it up, was the same one we looked at in the store.

Crazy system but worth the hassle for 20 bucks.

I bought this pump to inflate my raft. It comes with several attachments for the valve, none of which fit. It also does not have a long enough lead to reach all the way around my 14’ boat, nor does it seem to have the power to inflate it very quickly.

Half the price of the one I had for many years and works just as good. I would recommend letting it cool if youre using it for multiple items and if hooking it up to a vehicle battery, turn off the engine otherwise it will burn out.

Worked well but only lasted 2 seasons and then froze probobly due to exposure to salt air. Opened unit and found moisture and rust on motor

This gauge is terribly inaccurate. The needle is off by 1/4 PSI and wobbles by another 1/4 PSI which means its accuracy is off by 1/2 PSI across the board. That doesnt sound like a big deal for a car tire at 32 psi, but when you have inflatable products that need to be inflated to exactly 1.

5 psi, 2. 5 psi, 3. 5 psi etc, then this gauge isnt accurate enough to correctly inflate them. The difference between 3 psi and 3. 5 psi in my boat is huge in terms of performance, and 3. 5 psi and 4 psi is the difference between correct inflation and damaging seams.

Thats the whole point of using a 5 psi gauge, to have granularity to take readings in a lower pressure range, but this is too inaccurate to use. Dont waste your money on this gauge.

I bought this to inflate the pontoons on a small one man watervraft I just purchase. The reviews were great so I made the purchase. My experience though was that it is super slow to the point of useless.

I ran it for 20 minutes straight on one pontoon and it didn’t push enough air in to even notice. I finally gave up and put on the hand pump and filled both pontoons in 10 minutes. This pump might be good for filling cheap swimming pool toys, but anything that requires a significant amount of air like air mattresses or inflatable boats, there is no way.

I am really surprised at the number of positive reviews and that my experience was so opposite. The pump does not appear to be defective. It just appears to make a lot of noise but doesn’t pump even remotely enough air for my use.

I threw it away after one use.

I purchased this item from the Bass Pro Shop in Ft. Myers FL for use with my inflatable kayak. The first time I used the product it ran for 3 mins, began to smoke and then seized up. I followed the instructions and even installed the presure valve to elliminate any concerns about over filling or over heating.

The first tube on the kayak was maybe 50% filled when the unit failed. Its a real piece of junk do not waste your money!!! I purchased this based on the good reputation of the Bass Pro Shops for carrying quality products, however I should have done my research.

Upon doing internet search on this product it gets really poor ratings everywhere and is apparently prone to overheating and burning out. This “High Pressure Pump” is a real looser. I am truly surprised that Bass Pro Shops carries this product.

Now unfortunetly I have to deal with returning it.

We purchased this to air up our large and water toys after just one season it sounds as though the main bearing has gone out. When new it work amazing. It never left our shop. Just started making the noise and never stopped.

Airs about 60% of what it used too now. The price it high for the quality or this pump.

We have had a variety of pumps over the years, hand, rechargeable electric, then finally bought this one. Finally got a pump that has a built in Halkey-Roberts/Summit Valve adapter – that in and of itself is a nice convenience.

Plug the hose into the pontoon, switch ‘er on, and my ‘toon’s ready to float in almost no time at all. Still have to top off by hand, but for as fast as this thing inflates, I don’t really care! Best part is it connects to the marine battery I use for the trolling motor anyway.

And it’s small enough that if I do have to take it with me, it’s not taking up a ton of room. If you’ve hemmed and hawed about getting an electric pump, this is really fast and easy to use. For bigger inflatables, no more pumping for what seems like forever – and the fact that it actually inflates to the proper psi is awesome! Less time setting up – more time to have fun!.

It’s not a good feeling to write a bad review but I am just writing it to save other people from the bad experience we had. There is nothing to like about this pump. It held charge first time for about 10 minutes and since then it’s so annoying to even use it! The AC power doesn’t work directly at all.

It only works once charged and unfortunately the battery just doesn’t hold any charge at all. So in a nutshell this pump is not useful. Will try to return it.

This air pump is surprisingly tiny. Which is perfect for packing up your camping gear. When operating it on its battery it can last long enough to blow up a queen size air mattress. We did try to blow up a 2 person water tube and had to plug it into the car adapter.

Works just fine on the car adapter and has a long enough cord to reach far enough outside of the car. Only downfall is it won’t operate when charging into a wall outlet. It will attempt to run on its battery.

However it will operate when charging on the car AC adapter. I think its accurate to say that it takes about 4 hours to fully charge. It would be a nice feature to include a battery life bar, then you’re not stuck guessing.

Deflates just as fast as most air pumps. Definitely plan to get a lot of use out of this when camping, but will make sure I bring the AC adapter for backup. I also like that the cords for the chargers have a tie feature so you can keep them neat.

Bought this to fill swimming pools that are bigger than the average toddler pools. Was tired of the hand pumps breaking and was happy to find this electric pump at dicks. Made quick work of the pool in more than half the time.

I hope it holds up since I’ve only used it once so far. It also removes air from inflated items. Has various nozzles that should work for most inflatables. The only complaint I have is not w the pump but the stock online not being accurate.

A lot of time I look for items I know they have in stock because I frequent this location weekly. When I searched this item for pricing and comparing, it didn’t show. In fact, they had a few different models in stock and none were shown online.

I saw this little inflator featured on the Project Farm YouTube channel. It worked as well, or better then any of the other inflators that he tested. I didn’t want yet ANOTHER rechargeable tool to worry about.

It always seems that the batteries need charging when you despararely need the tool so getting one that plugs into the cigarette lighter (showing my age) seemed like a good idea. I first used it on an almost completely flat, 265/70R17 truck tire on a 2018 Ram 1500.

Actually the tire registered 5lbs of pressure. I plugged the cord into the lighter, hooked it up and turned it on. The directions do say to turn it on FIRST, then hook it up to the valve stem to avoid burning it out, but who reads directions? 🙄 The pump operated decidedly faster when I started the truck.

And who knows if this thing would drain your battery, so be prepared to run your vehicle while using the pump. It took about 18 minutes to get the tire to 40lbs, but it was in my driveway, so i went inside and made some coffee while I waited.

It might be annoying if you’re on the side of the road, or in a deserted Walmart parking lot at 3:00 a. m. , but 18 minutes goes by pretty quickly when brewing your favorite java bean. When the pump gauge said 40lbs, I unscrewed the hose from the valves stem and checked the pressure with my Slime brand dial gauge.

That also said 40lbs, so either the pump gauge is accurate, or they both are identically wrong. The only negative was that it got incredibly hot. So hot that I could not touch it for more than a second.

I don’t think it would light a cigarette like one of the lighters you used to find in the “accessory outlet” but hot enough that i wanted to let it cool down for a while before zipping it back up in the handy carrying case.

All in all, with a 25% off coupon, I was pretty happy with the results.

This has become a go-to for soccer practice and camping. It’s easy enough to throw in the back of the car, plug into the port, and fix whatever has deflated due to time, weather, or whatever. The cord-wrap is nice, makes it super easy to store.

I also like the way they store attachments and the power chord. It feels like being compact was a major focus, and it has paid off big time.

We just love our Sharper Image Car Air Compressor! It works well and is compact. You can keep it in your car or use it at home to inflate bike tires, etc. This would make a great gift because you can pump anywhere instead of looking for a gas station or somewhere to fill up your tires.

It’s so nice that it has lights on it too so if you ever are in a situation at night where you have to pull over you can see. It also comes with 3 different nozzles so fit whatever you need inflated.

I got this about a month ago. We put it in my daughters car because she travels back and forth to college a lot. This came in Handy for her on the road! She was coming back from college, which is about an hour drive, and she felt her tire go out.

She pulled over and was able to keep her tire aired until she could reach a gas station and get help putting on her spare. This saved her from having to pay the expensive fee for someone to come to the interstate to help her.

Works as advertised. My old, very similar pump (they both plug into cigarette lighter socket) finally gave out after well over a decade, and wanted a low cost replacement for occasional use. Used it to inflate, and then deflate two air matresses this past weekend and it did the trick with no issues.

Multiple nozzles for different size iopenings. Not particularly powerful, so took a bit to inflate, but does the trick. Time will tell how long it lasts but no complaints so far :).

I bought this to pump up my “Sevylor Colossus 4-Person Inflatable Boat – Grey/Blue” that I bought at my local Kroger store (Fred Meyer). I paid $69. 99 for the boat plus this $10. 99 pump and I was out on the lake for under $100! The pump was able to inflate the boat in under 2 minutes maybe even 1.

I bought this pump to inflate pool inflatables. It took a long long time to inflate one small lounger. I bought this to replace an old Intek inflater. My kids lost the adapters for the Intek so i was not able to do a comparison.

The Intek inflator is noisy but blows out a lot more air.

This came from Amazon which surprised me. It is a lot smaller in size than my original bought years ago. This was bought as a gift so I hope They like it. They borrowed mine several times and I expected to receive the same size as mine.

This inflator topped off 1 tire for 5 psi and died on the second tire after adding 5 psi. It is now junk. Would not recommend. First time using it.
