11 Best 11X17 All In One Printer (2023 Updated)

I have owned the MFC-J485DW for a few years. It was purchased as part of my new office equipment. I use it to print both personal and professional items. It has worked flawlessly as a printer, scanner and copier for years.

It gives me warnings when the toner is low as well as when I am out of paper. I appreciate the simple design and fact that it connects via wifi so other users on my network can access printing options.

I was kind of skeptical to purchase this printer because of the mix reviews that I read across various forums. However, I decided to take a chance and see for myself its strengths and weaknesses as noted below: Strengths: Setup was surprisingly easy! Firstly, I inserted paper into the machine and then turned it own which the machine prompted me to insert the various printer cartridges.

I ran a print test which was very successful. Thereafter, the machine prompted me to input general information such a date, time, year etc. Afterwards the machine quickly found and connected to my Wifi.

The machine prints very rich tones that really compete with laser. I was shocked that ink jet cartridges had improved so signficantly. Connections-I have about 16 devices including smart phones all of which connected and printed amazingly well without any hiccups.

The scanner integrated with my main PC without any hiccups. The scans are clear and transparent. Copying-I copied a document and the produced copy was clear and transparent as well. Weaknesses: The only true weakness that I see early about the machine is the time it takes to print is rather slow, but I sincerely believe this is due in part to the rich texture of print that this machine produces.

This weakness is not necessarily a biggie for me because I have another Brother printer, DCPL-2540DW which is my primary printer in addition to model HL-L2320D. I am partial to laser because of the longevity of toner versus ink jet.

Overall, strengths definitely outweigh weaknesses as a result, I highly recommend the purchase of this product if you’re looking for a good reliable printer at an economical price. Brother, definitely is on consumers’ side!.

I have had this printer for around six months and at this point, I have to believe that it is just a poorly made device. I have worked with dozens of printers and I can tell you more about a printer than I ever wanted to be able to, and this device falls short of a well-made product.

The value of the ink is fantastic. I print frequently and the ink has been consistent in quality and has lasted for quite a while. However, the fact that the device is incapable of staying on my wireless network for more than one print job at a time is a serious detractor.

Of course, I assumed there was a problem with my network, but after extensive testing, the only device to have constant connectivity issues is this printer. Well, whatever, I can make that work with a cable and rearranging some furniture.

This solved my problem, although it does defeat the point of the printer being wireless. So, at this point the printer actually prints and that is great. Until I have to scan something. The thing can’t scan.

It is hardwired to the PC and the blasted thing can’t connect. Control Center 4 can’t connect to the machine to scan. It sits and says “Connecting. ” and never connects. However, when I click the connecting bar, it can tell me that printer is low on yellow ink, so clearly it is getting information from the printer.

Essentially, the only thing the printer and software are genuinely good at is telling me that I am low on ink. At this point, I have concluded that both printer and software are just not up to par. When this machine runs out of ink, I will be replacing it.

In short, if you want a good value on ink, buy this printer. If you want a printer that can actually perform the functions it is supposed to be able to perform, buy anything else.

I purchased this HP All-in-One Inkjet Printer to replace my 3 month old Brother All-in-One because the Brother was not quite as compatible with my Mac or maybe is it my new Mojave operating system. In any case, it was unable to print envelopes, Avery mini address labels correctly without a lot of adjustments and even then my labels still was not printing out right unless you want to waste a whole sheet of labels for one label.

It also took 5 minutes to print out my monthly calendar with BusyCal. So I decided I am going back to HP which I have used for for decades. I went into Staples store instead of buying it online because I wanted to make sure this next printer does what I need it to do.

I was intent on buying a monochrome laser jet printer. When I got into the store, Ian showed me all the HP printers they had and monochrome printers are very few in between and even more limited was monochrome laser jet.

He suggested the HP OfficeJet Pro with Page5000 that is exclusive to Staples because it almost has what I needed. I was skeptical about ink jet printers because they use a lot of ink quickly and you cannot print if one of the cartridges is low in ink until you replace it even though it still had some ink left in it.

Also I wasn’t really looking for color because that is an additional expense of buying color & Black cartridges. Ian told me that the new HP color cartridges now is better than laser cartridges, they last much longer and uses very little ink.

With this printer, you enroll to get 2 years of free cartridges automatically shipped to you when you are running low as long as the printer stays on. He said I can pause the auto ship and restart it so I don’t use up the 2 year limit.

So far, it was not very hard to set up and get it going. I am now able to print my calendar quickly, my envelopes and labels without any adjustments. I enrolled and only time will tell if the ink cartridges do last longer and if the free cartridges is worth the price of the printer.

The only thing I wish this printer has is a multi-purpose tray because changing out the media when I want to print it is a bit of a hassle. Also the printer is louder than my Brother when printing and it shakes my printer stand which is plastic.

From reading reviews, I thought this would be heavy, but 5foot 140lb me could pick it up and carry it across the house and lift it to a desk easily, just not carry it across the yard from the fedex truck and up the stairs or ramp without needing a break.

I had the hp instant ink program before this for maybe 4/5 yrs, I read the fine print on this one too, the page5000 will start as soon as you enter the claim code, but you can wait until you almost finish the cartridges in the box, then start page 5000, so that’s what I am doing–up to 3yrs to use the claim code.

I’ve used maybe 100pages so far, one page printed my coupons doubled over on itself, never happened with my hp envy. Print speed must start from when it starts making noise, because it actually takes a few seconds longer from when I hit print until when it finishes printing than my last printer did.

The print quality is just as good as with the last printer, just a little more wet when it finishes a color page, sometimes the page curls a bit from the ink, using hp paper. I’m holding out for the page5000 to be like instant ink, that will make this product worth it.

Seems like not quite an ink jet, not yet a laser, maybe why it is called an officeJET, oh, it is a model 8710, I couldn’t find that before I purchased it but that is what it registers as. My setup was a little more complicated than the last hp, I ended up having to abort auto setup and go into manual setup to get it to work and I’m not fully tech savvy, I’m a 35 yr old who can figure it out when I have too.

Got to wait for it to do it’s thing as you use functions, I was trying to make my first copy and accidentally used ID copy, it caught my hand turning the paper over and copied that instead of the back.

And also used the autofeed copy once, had to really push it there and get it to recognize the trifold creased paper, but it and I got it the second time around. Would still buy, I think Page5000 will be great and replace having to pay every month for Instant Ink.

I should still get 2yrs out of it at about 210 pages a month, almost paid for itself. I have to keep the feed stopper out to stop the printing page from falling, extends out like picture times 2, then theres a edge stopper if that makes sense—like the 4th image.

Ink using XL is great! Printing on REGULAR paper awesome (but likes to jam a lot or margins are off)! Printing on card stock, envelopes, or any photo paper AWFUL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had the 8610 printer and it worked great for “ALL” kinds of thicknesses of paper but this piece of … is the worst printer I have ever owned.

I have wasted so much EXPENSIVE photo paper, card stock, and envelopes ~ it is just pathetic! Paper jams galore! Every piece of consecutive paper either jams or the margins are different on each paper printed.

It works great when it wants to; however, I would NOT and NEVER recommend this printer.

I have had no issues with most of the features with this printer, the printing is good and clear and the scanning jobs I have done were good quality. There is a warning for anyone that is looking at getting this printer to do a lot of scanning jobs, THIS PRINTER IS NOT CAPABLE OF SCANNING MIXED PAPER SIZES.

You have to set it to the largest size paper and scan your pages that way, unlike other printer/scanner combos that can detect the different paper sizes and scan them to the proper sizes. This is not important for some people but this affected the way I was trying to use the scanner for my business.

This aspect is not clear in the documentation or website. Perhaps because it isn’t so important for some people.

Pros: Loaded with features and unlike most other brands, Brother makes the cheapest MFC that can be set up to scan to a fax server. Network and local scanning is good and I have set up the scan software for a few users with USB-connected MFCs and no problems.

Reliability is much improved from the previous generation (no more toner leaking everywhere and clogging the fuser heating tube) Cons: Like others have said, creasing is often a problem with these. Depends on how long the unit sits idle and cools down.

I believe the heat-up cycle for the fuser is not long enough to prevent creases from a cold start. In an effort to have fast startup and be eco-friendly. we are using paper :/. they try to limit the warm-up time to as short as possible at the sacrifice of wasting paper, ruining the first few sheets: definitely not ‘green’.

I keep updating the firmware on these things in the high hopes that they will finally get it right. It has improved from the very first of these we received, but still NOT resolved. Please at least release an optional firmware that has an extra 15 seconds of warm up from a cold start.

Machine does great with scanning. We use it at a small office on a network, and everyone is able to connect and scan fairly easily. There are some settings needing to be done using a fairly easy to use controller module on every computer that wants to receive scans.

Unfortunately the printing has been poor from the very beginning. Printer puts creases in first 2 pages of every print job. Most pages after that come out OK. Also creases anything fed through the fold-out tray.

OK if for internal use, but not acceptable to be shown to anyone. Oddly, printing envelopes works fine, has never creased a single envelope, only full 8-1/2×11 pages. Also printing on heavier bonded paper (like checks) works better, no creases.

I have seen reviews where people complain about multiple pages going through the supply trays at once when printing. There is a specific way you must load the paper such that it will not pull several sheets at once, those folks just aren’t doing it correctly.

It can be set up for you to print to it from anywhere in the world through Epson Connect, Google Cloud Print, Mopria, or Epson iPrint (you can snap a photo on your phone and with a few taps it’s being printed at home – or any Mopria compliant printer for that matter!).

The two supply trays are HUGE – I leave 4×6 photo paper in one, 8 1/2 x 11 plain paper in the other. It can send you emails when ink is low or other errors take place with the printer, and you can set it up so that the vendor of your choice will automatically ship you ink when it is low through an automated “ReadyInk” program (I do it with Staples as the vendor, which is 10% LOWER than Epson prices – for OEM ink (not knockoff ink) – they give me a discount for using this service) – which is sent to me JUST BEFORE I need it).

I also set it up such that those purchases automatically go towards my staples reward points program, so every now and then I can drop by a staples and pick up FREE STUFF! (The way it works is you can register it with Epson so they can monitor your ink levels, Epson has a program with many vendors that connect to Epson to get the ink level information).

When you receive a fax you can set it so that it prints the fax of course but also saves it and moves it into a folder on your PC – even if you are not there and your PC is turned off – when you turn your PC on it copies the files onto a folder on your machine, and when receiving a fax it can give you a notification on your PC.

It connects via Ethernet, USB or wifi. You can also receive faxes without printing them – so you can just print what you want after reviewing them on your PC! You can also set it to scan documents not just to your computer but also to a place on your PC or even an FTP site on the internet.

I think this printer deserves a real consideration. Thrilled with the purchase. I keep the printer on and it is connected to my network through ethernet and also to a phone line for the fax functionality (the phone cord is actually plugged into an Ooma unit so there is no cost for a related phone bill).

With Epson Connect you can set up a special email address with Epson, such that every email sent to that address is automatically printed, including the attachments! The only negative think I found was I cannot get notifications on my phone when a fax arrives.

I have found there is the ability (not on this model but series one step up) to put the received faxes on a folder on the web – and someone can use IFTTT to monitor said folder and send a notification to their phone that way.

Even though that is doable on those other models I am certain I can find a way to do this (I can do it if I leave my PC turned on but there must be a better way). Stay tuned! Need I say more? BUY ONE OF THESE!.

I’m using the printer with a desktop PC, directly connected via USB. The print quality and print speed is good. Once there are only about 25 pages left in the tray, the printer starts sucking up multiple blank sheets, or printing half pages on the sheet below causing paper waste.

This is the second Epson Printer I own that does this. You must keep the paper reservoir FULL or you’ll be reprinting some sheets. I have not been able to transmit print jobs over wifi from my laptop, and I’ve had what I feel to be unnecessary issues scanning documents directly to my computer because I need to use the Epson program vs.

just plug and play like every other printer I’ve used. I end up scanning to a USB instead – an (easy) extra step, but an extra step nonetheless. Maybe I haven’t spent enough time setting it up. A fine budget printer – needs some user interface refinements.

I bought this printer to replace and old Brother Laser Jet in my home office, and I debated between this and another Brother Laser Jet. I have to say I’m disappointed with my decision to get this one.

First the pros: – nice touch screen interface – easy to use over Wi-Fi – easy to scan directly to a network share – reasonable print and scan quality for the price ($89) Given the price ($89 on sale), I’d typically find it hard to complain about anything.

But this device just doesn’t live up to Epson’s claims and the device fails on many of the selling points. First, I’ll start with printing. The printer jams with nearly every job. Beyond that, Epson claims a 20 page per minute black and white speed and 10 for color, which is in line with the speed of my old Brother and was a major selling point.

Although my Brother did that speed with no problem, this Epson gets no where close. In practice, it takes 4-5 minutes to print 10 pages black and white, dual sided. I expect some slow down, but not that much! And that doesn’t count the time spent removing jams or the additional 4-5 minutes spent reprinting the document after the jam (rather than reprinting jammed pages, it just skips over them, so you’re left missing multiple pages from your document).

This last point could cause ink and paper costs to nearly double. As for the scanner, Epson decided to include an auto document feeder, although I’m not sure why. This was another major selling point.

First, it doesn’t allow dual sided scanning; this must be done manually with the flatbed. (This is burried in the specs somewhere, so I knew before purchasing, but it’s not obvious so I thought I’d state it here.

) More importantly, the ADF jams continually. In my short usage, the fail rate is about 25%. In other words, the 20 page document I just scanned only showed 15 pages in the scan, and this is the rule not the exception.

The only way around this is to manually feed the paper into the ADF (but that defeats the purpose of course!) or use the flatbed. On top of that, the whole ADF paper feed mechanism popped out of the printer when I was removing one of the many jams, and sent small plastic gears and metal springs flying all over my desk.

I was able to get it reassembled and working, but I don’t think the average user would be willing to reverse engineer the mechanism and put it back together. Finally, Epson does not provide good support for Linux drivers for this printer, and I have as yet been unable to network it through my local Linux print server.

I can print from Linux via Wi-Fi print, but I’d prefer to use my wired server instead. Bottom line: OK printer if you can get it for less than $100, just don’t get it for the ADF and be willing to deal with frequent paper jams when printing.

For me personally, I would never buy this printer at full price, and would not buy it again any price.

The Brother MFC-L6800DW All-in-One is a solidly built device that is capable of handling just about all of your copying, printing, faxing and scanning needs with ease. These days, two-sided capability is a necessity to help cut-down on paper usage and save trees.

And the MFC-L6800DW has that capability built into all of its functions. The toner saver feature means that it can make more prints / copies without giving up print quality. The color display is clear and bright, and the menu system is straight forward and easy to navigate.

The Brother MFC-L6800DW has more capabilities designed into it than I currently need. But in my case, these additional features future-proofs this device when it comes time that I need these features.

Meaning I won’t need to go out and buy yet another device with the additional features I might need at that time. They are already here in the Brother MFC-L6800DW. I bought the Brother MFC-L6800DW to replace an aging Brother MFC-9700 All-In-One that I bought new and used for 14 years.

The Brother MFC-9700 worked flawlessly the entire time I owned it. In fact, I gave it to a friend of mine that is still using it today. So in my opinion, why consider another brand. I decided to go with my experience in owning the Brother MFC-9700 and bought the Brother MFC-L6800DW.

And so far, based on reviews about similar machines from other manufacturers, I am glad I bought the Brother MFC-L6800DW.

The most significant feature that I LOVE about my Brother Printer is the professional quality of the print copies; this is extremely important when I have to mail important correspondence to a government agency or regarding educational projects as a homeschooling parent.

Also, my printer saves me money because I am not buying little ink cartridges over and over again. I have saved a lot of money on print cartridges with my Brother Printer because the toner cartridges last so long.

My Brother Printer was a Great Purchase, and I will trust the Brother Brand when I purchase a color printer in the near future.

I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review. I have been using the Brother MFC-L6800dw Printer at work for daily jobs and A busy tax season. I will say that I am very happy with all of the printer functions, I successfully set it up myself and it took me about 25 minutes from unboxing to printing.

I will attest that the printer can definitely print large jobs fairly quickly. It is great on ink, and this newer model stretches the toner to thousands of pages before replacement. The design is very professional and modern, it fit wonderfully with all of my other office equipment.

One of the things that I liked the most was that It has a touch screen so it has a more trendy and tech look, I also find it very useful and easy to navigate. I was surprised to find that the printer was also energy efficient which is definetely a plus.

Lastly, it can connect through wifi for easy sharing and has a paper holder of over 500 pages. I really like that I dont have to refill it for days at a time. It also has many features that I havent used, like the NFC security capability which allows you more security when printing.

Overall, I recommend this printer for any medium size business who is looking for a durable, economic, high quality printer that maximizes savings with a high yielding toner. However I want to mention that this printer has tons of capabilities therefore if you`re looking for a more simplified printer this printer may not be the best option as it allows you To do more complicated functions like storing and printing jobs which you can later access with user id and password, 48 customized shortcuts, and an integrated NFC card reader which allows you to access functions with a compatible NFC card or badge.

I haven`t had the time to set all these functions up as they are little bit more complicated but I would like to put them to use as they enhance security within the office.

After being frustrated by the local print shops refusing to print on my own 24 paper, I managed to negotiate this new printer with my wife. My old Epson R2400 is getting a little worn out and only prints 13 wide.

My project required a 24×30 print. Reading reviews and articles about this and other wide format printers, the only adverse comment I saw for the T2170 were complaints about feeding paper. With plenty of experience arguing with recalcitrant printers, I took the plunge and purchased this one.

Surprise with the size and weight of the new printer had me a little worried if it would fit in my computer room. This is a BIG printer, nearly 3′ wide and 1 1/2′ deep, I couldn’t put it where I had originally planned (I should have bought the stand too.

) After rearranging things and finishing setup, I tried my first print. I had no problems feeding roll paper, and very little with cut sheets. The printer is very fussy about skew when loading, but if you carefully follow the guides, it goes in cleanly, even with an unevenly cut leading edge.

The automatic cutter took care of that on the first print. Prints were excellent and well worth the price. It is much more convenient to feed cut sheets from the back rather than the front of the printer, so be sure to leave some room, or put it on a moveable stand of some kind.

I consider this printer well worth the price for someone who needs the width. I can’t wait to try a really big panoramic print!.

Purchased the T5475 about 11 months ago and it’s been a disaster. About 4 weeks into ownership, it started skipping lines when it printed. Here I am 11 months later, and I have had to make 4 warranty calls for the same issue.

They said to swap paper brands so I did, but this did not fix it. Each time the encoder wheel gets dirty with small particles of paper dust. This time the tech has been here 2 days already this week and is returning today with more parts.

Initiated the current warranty call Thursday and here it is Friday of the following week and still not working. Just had to pay a local shop to make some prints for me yesterday. I do not print very often maybe one or two days a week and I have printed probably less than 750 sheets total.

Given that this printer has been torn up about 4 weeks during the first 11 months of ownership is totally unacceptable. Of the 90 days I have needed to print something this unit has been torn up at least 25 of those days.

When it works it is a great machine, but reliability has been awful. Over the last 25 years I have had 3 HP wide format printers and never had any issues. Too bad they don’t have lemon laws for expensive electronics.

This one would fall into that category.

Now that we have about 40 hours of experience with our wife-format sublimation printer, it’s time for an honest review. The Epson SureColor PRO F570 bundle purchased from Swing Design is perfect for home/hobby use.

Once dialed in, the finished custom sublimation fabric for purse and wallet liners is simply amazing. Just for fun, sublimation ceramic mugs and coasters make fun gifts at minimal costs. I am glad we went with the re-fillable F570 instead of less expensive 24″ Epson sublimation printers which require expensive print cartridges.

The F570 is perfect for our number of monthly sublimation projects. The Epson F570 is simple to setup and quick to the first print. The printer’s on-screen instructions are foolproof if you follow them exactly.

The included Epson software takes some time to learn and it’s unfortunate that it can only be installed on a single computer. Since this is a shortcoming of Epson, Swing Design does not deserve to be dinged a star for that.

It is puzzling why anyone would purchase an Epson F570 on eBay (or elsewhere) when prices here at Swing Design are significantly less for brand new, untouched equipment and shipping is included. Shipping to McAllen, TX was fast and everything arrived in perfect condition.

We could not be happier with our Epson SureColor PRO F570 bundle from Swing Design. What an awesome printer!.

I installed this printer a few weeks ago and its constantly showing an error message Printer Failure and will not print. I shut it down and unplugged the electrical cord and then plugged it back in and restarted it and occasionally will print once and then the printer failure error code comes back.

I Uninstalled the printer and reinstalled it and it printed for a few times and then the printer failure error code came back and it would not print. I called HP and they were unable to solve the problem.

They want to send me a refurbished printer not a new one. I do not recommend this printer.

We got this for our home/home-business. One of our criteria was the ability to scan directly to a network share which this does well. The printer prints quickly with great quality. The only downside is the cost of the replacement ink cartridges.

They are large and rated to print up to 10,000 prints, but they are expensive. We had to replace the cartridges that came with the printer after a year, so I am sure the ones that come with the printer don’t print 10,000 prints.

We probably won’t need to buy additional replacement cartridges for a few years. We do like the printer and recommend it.

After several years and many cartridges of use, my HP Photosmart Pro 8600 Plus lost its ability to connect to my home WiFi. I kept it on the network for a couple of months via a cabled connection to my router, but it felt like the time was right to respectfully retire this printer and buy a new one.

I have used HP printers for years and have had great service from them, so HP was my first stop for the replacement. I decided on a higher-end multifunction device this time around. I was originally thinking of getting a midrange color laser MFD, but was intrigued by HP’s PageWide technology.

As the name suggests, printing occurs over the entire width of the page at once with a page-wide cartridge rather than a moving print head. As you might image, this technology delivers amazingly fast print speeds.

The specs state up to 70 pages per minute for color printing, but seeing it hand out page after page after. Well it’s a thing of beauty. Construction of this printer is very solid (the term “built like a tank” comes to mind).

It is not significantly larger than my old printer, but the weight is nearly 60 pounds. Cartridges for this printer are not exactly inexpensive, but even the lower capacity cartridges are good for up to 3000 (color) or 3500 (black and white) pages.

That’s a LOT of pages for me, so I suspect that it will be quite some time before I need to worry about replacing them. I received the printer less than a week ago, so I’m just scratching the surface on its capabilities.

If you want a higher-end “prosumer” quality printer, I would recommend that you give this one a shot. It’s absolutely amazing!.

For 10+ years our MFC has served us well. Great build quality. We utilize just about every feature of this machine on a daily basis. The toner cartridges last much longer than we ever expected. FAX speaker is surprisingly loud (not a bad thing).

Double-sided printing is made simple. Holds almost an entire pack of paper, which is convenient. Honestly can’t say enough good about this machine as it has simplified my days in the office without worrying about parts breaking or the machine jamming.

One quick example to show light on the build quality – after 10+ years the DRUM life still displays at 30%. We would recommend this machine in particular based on our experience.

This does do duplex printing, copying and scanning. I think it takes out blank pages, but I’d have to check w/the staff to be sure. I’ve found great generic toner (as good as the brand name toner) for much less on Amazon.

We scan & upload at least 200 pages of medical records a day for different clients + our own correspondence + copying + faxing. Lots of faxing. I’ve been using dropbox but I now see that it does have a TWAIN driver so I’ll be able to scan to the VPN.

I only use Brother laser printers. My IT Guy (big in Northern CA) recommended this one b/c other of his clients loved it. He’s right, it is every bit as good as the brand that starts with X. In fact, if you put it on a cabinet of the same height, you can see that all that’s really different is the housing.

At the price, if it wears out every year, I’ll still save $$ rather than renting/leasing or whatever from the X brand people. The only thing I don’t like is that it doesn’t have a user-friendly interface on the machine itself.

Finding “jobs in progress” etc can be done, but it’s not easy from the machine itself. There’s a control panel in the software on the computer where you name documents, choose where to scan, email or whatever.

As I am an old person, I hate learning new stuff like that. Happily, I have younger staff & can hand it to them to deal with. We’re a small law firm that does Social Security Disability work. Our scans have to be perfect so they can be uploaded to the court’s online exhibit folder.

Bought this to replace another Brother MFC that we had for YEARS. This was a bit smaller and more modern with better features and we love Brother products. Started off great – needed some help getting it to connect to 2 computers and to set up the scanning software, but once it was set up, it was a breeze! After about 2 months, a vertical line started appearing along the entire length of the page.

Infrequently at first, but eventually it happened with every other scan. We had to wipe down the thin, glass panel on the left hand side of the scanner bed and rescan. We use this for a home business, so it gets a lot of work, and having to stop and rescan cases has gotten tedious.

After about 6 months now, the paper jams on about every other print. Still can’t figure out what THAT is about or how to fix it. It does say that the drum needs replacing soon, so maybe it’s that. I love the scanning software – easy to use and works well for our needs.

But at a price of about $300 (what we paid at the time), it’s obscene the cost of the toner and drums. Wish there was an alternative to using so much toner and can’t understand the expense of the toner and drum units.

If a standard and a drum unit is included in your initial purchase, that’s over $220. does that mean the machine itself is only worth about $80? Because it’s ridiculous that to replace toner and drum is ALMOST as expensive as an entirely new machine.

Unboxing the Epson Workforce WF-2930 printer, you’ll find the printer itself, a full complement of Epson ink cartridges, a power cable, and documentation. There is no phone/fax or USB cable included.

The printer has a very small footprint at only 12” x 15”. Setting up the printer itself is an easy process. With the printer unpacked and the Epson Smart Panel app installed to your mobile device, simply follow the chat-like prompts.

The app will clearly and concisely walk you through installing the ink cartridges, setting up your network configuration, and aligning the print head. At this point, you can start printing with little additional work.

Android 12 & 13 devices in my home on the same wifi automatically found and suggested the printer without any downloads or setup. And Windows 10 computers added the printer easily by downloading and installing software from Epson’s website.

Print quality for both documents and photos has been very impressive with sharp edges, solid colors, and dark blacks. Output is fast both from mobile and desktop and operation is quiet. And 2-sided printing worked quickly and reliably.

Scanning operations were quick and easy when initiated by either the computer or scanner. Results were impressive with quick operation, sharp images and good color representation. The document feeder, which only works with 1-sided pages, performed reliably with straight images and no jams.

Couple of final thoughts: I do not have a landline and was therefore unable to test faxing. Also, this model printer bucks the current trend towards ink tank style printers with large ink capacity. While this is neither pro nor con, it does mean needing to buy ink cartridges more often.

That said, cartridges are already available and are only $7 a for a standard capacity cartridge, which is super reasonable. Overall, the Epson Workforce WF-2930 is an excellent little printer.

Now that I, like a lot of people, am working remotely from home, I needed a printer for home office use. I had previously been printing out occasional documents and photos for my kids’ school work at nearby office supply stores and the local library.

While economical, it was not a convenient arrangement. I also considered getting a laser printer, but I also wanted color capabilities and a scanner. A laser printer with those features would have been well out of my budget.

This printer has fit my needs quite well. Setup was easy, to the point that I didn’t need to look at the documentation. Installing the ink and paper was very intuitive. Connecting the printer to my WiFi network was also a breeze, thanks to the on-screen setup wizard.

The only tedious part was entering in my WiFi password, but unless I get a new router or change my WiFi password, I’m hopeful that it’s a one-time deal. Since initial setup, I haven’t had any disconnects.

I previously owned a printer that would disappear from my wireless network, and even though it did a good job of printing when it was on the network, I boxed it up because of the constant headaches and maintenance it required.

The print quality of both black and white prints were good. They aren’t professional quality, but it hits the mark for my needs. Similarly, the speed of printing was acceptable — I’m not printing manuscripts nor making hundreds of copies — so no complaints there.

I have tried the Android app for printing, which is intuitive and convenient. I have not tried the voice printing capabilities; I’m not really sure that I have any use cases for it, but I could see my mother-in-law using a feature like that, since she still likes to print out recipes.

I haven’t used the printer enough to need ink refills. It looks like only genuine Epson ink cartridges are supported by the printer, which is a bit of a bummer because it means that I’m at the whim of the cost and availability of cartridges from Epson.

However, I’m hopeful that I won’t need them often; after a month of owning the printer, my ink levels are still in the 90% range. In all, I’d recommend this printer. If your printing needs are like mine — non-professional usage and for things like home office and school work — it hits the mark as expected.

You have larger ink cartridges, top loading paper, document feeder scanning, two sided printing, wireless, and voice control. One thing I am missing from my other Epson is document feeding for scanning.

It is much easier to lay the documents down on the feeder then tell it to scan than it is to one by one scan and flip each page over as well as scan the next page the same and repeat till it is done.

Wireless is a standard now for printers even at this price point but still many households still have an older printer with a cable which is just one more device connecting to your computer using USB.

And if you have a lot of other USB devices you will know that wireless printing is worth buying a new printer for. Connecting to my network was very easy and I was able to print from IOS devices of Iphones 12 Pro Max, 13 mini, the new Iphone 14 Pro Max, and Ipad Pro.

I also tested android samsung s22 worked just as great. My windows Pc worked great after installing the drivers to utilize all the features. After the driver install I updated and it was ready to go.

This does not have ethernet jack but unless your printer is very far from your WIFI access point you wont need an ethernet jack since scans and print jobs are not very large amounts of data. Scanning documents came out very clear with no issues of being able to read the text or see pictures.

Print jobs print out a decent rate but not the fastest offer by Epson, but for a work from home office/ printer for school I feel that you will not need to print that fast.

This is not a “Karen” review; I have genuine critiques regarding the performance of this printer. I work in prints quite literally all the time and it will be my full time job once I graduate. This printer is not necessarily budget friendly for a college student but it seemed good at first for me to try and investing in.

The first printer that came to me had issues printing colors smoothly and with saturation. There were horizontal strokes of patchiness so I contacted Brother regarding this issue. They determined it wasn’t my toners so they sent me a replacement printer at no extra cost to me which was excepted.

The same issues occurred. I don’t blame the customer service—they were great. My issues was with the performance of this printer. How can I receive two disappointing printers that don’t work any better than my crummy HP inkjet printer that barely has ink? It was my fault for not contacting Brother sooner within my 30 day warranty they gave me, but I cannot express how much I’m deterred from buying Brother printers here on out due to this experience.

Also, if you print directly from any Adobe program, the printer doesn’t read any of my typography as vectors and prints it horribly. You have to save it as a PDF and then print it, if you’re wondering.

It’s a black and white printer for general use now at my house despite all my attempts to change print settings and triple check the printer settings. You’re better off getting a different printer or going to HP.

Brother print app also need serious help it is not user-friendly and will benefit from making it a smoother experience. (EDIT: I’ve tried uploading this review multiple times turning off my adblocker and it’s prevented me from doing so.

I’m hoping this posts so people can understand that this printer may not be for them. ).

I recommended and purchased this printer for my Amish friend’s business. He has a fairly high workload as the printer is used for faxes and printing. I had a chance to see in person what he was not happy with and that is the speed of the printer.

I was asked to assist him in printing a number of 16-page booklets that required full color, two-sided printing on 8-1/2 x 11 stock. We were never able to use the print on both sides feature as this was so slow it hurt.

We decided to print odd and even pages separately to speed up the job. In single page mode, the printer would spit out three pages and then rest for a few moments, then print another three or four, and so on.

On top of this, we experienced papers sticking together causing jams. We attributed the sticking to the high humidity of the day and the 50# gloss paper we were using, To finish the job we found it best to print one side at a time, manually, then print the backside.

The pauses between every few copies took hours to complete only 40 copies of the booklet. I am in agreement with the owner as the printer does not perform very well for printing multiple copies of prints when using a computer or receiving multiple-page faxes.

Our booklet was an Adobe Acrobat document. If I had been able to stay longer and it had not been a weekend, I would have contacted tech support to see why the printer is so slow. I feel guilty in recommending the Brother printer as I own a number of Brother printers, including a lesser model color laser MFC and have not experienced any problems or slowness.

I bought this Brother printer to replace an older version (MFC9340) that has served me well for several years, but was nearing the end of it’s life. I was specifically looking for a color laser all-in-one with the ability to do 2-sided printing and copying.

Like my old Brother, this machine is fast printing and the color images are coming out very sharp. The Auto Document Feeder holds plenty of pages (not sure exactly how many) and is very fast for copying and scanning.

I’m very impressed with the scanning capabilities. It scans multiple pages into a single document much faster than my previous model. Set up was a breeze, and so far the wireless communication has been flawless.

I already had the Brother utilities software downloaded from my old printer, and this one integrates with it perfectly. I am definitely happy with my purchase, and look forward to several years of service out of this machine.

For years i have searched for a single device that can satisfy my needs for scanning, copying and printing as well as faxing. The Brother L2710DW satisfies all those requirements. I would have to say the best feature is being able to copy something with just a button click.

My wife loves this feature! No computer required and you still have control over copy count, density and scaling. Having a wifi network connected printer was a huge game changer for me. No more going to the computer whenever i had to print a document or user manul or woodwoking plans.

I can connect to the printer from the phone and print directly. Another wife pleaser too! Scanning multiple document pages used to take hours using my flat bed sanner. With the new L2710DW i can scan a whole document in minutes using the automatic document feeder.

It was quick and easy to learn. The only feature i have not fully examined is the fax capability. I may need this is the future for business purposes so i made sure it had the capabilty. Based on the excellent performance of the other features, i have no doubt the fax will be just as easy to use and intuitive.

Finally i would like to praise the fixed button specific controls. I have read all kinds of reviews that say that the menu driven single screen is the best format; I disagree! I don’t have to look a tiny screen with a small font on the L2710DW.

The screen is large and easy to ready and backlit and the apllication specific buttons make it super easy to switch between copy, scan, print and fax. This is a huge plus for this is the only office device i have and can quickly switch between features.

I give the printer and overall rating of a 5, even though i have not tested the fax feature. Im sure the fax will not disappoint and will be just to easy to use as the other features. The L2710DW is a real time saver, feature packed, easy to use smart device that evey personal or home office should have.

Replaced a 12 year old HP Laser Printer with this AIO because I needed a new laser and my Epson AIO InkJet was doing bad scans. For some odd reason, laser all-in-ones cost much less than equivalent laser printers.

Maybe it’s the lower capacity cartridges? For home use, this cartridge may only last a few years vs 5 years with a higher capacity one, but it’s still less than inkjet. I don’t give this 5 stars because sometimes the scanner document feeder doesn’t pull the pages 100% straight.

And the image quality on the scans from the feeder could be sharper for graphics. But it makes “kinkos” quality copies most of the time, which is better than inkjet AIO. I have had no issues so far printing from the Mac, Scaning to the Mac, printing over AirPrint, etc.

I have the printer connected via Ethernet. I haven’t tried faxing. One other reason I don’t give this 5 stars is that when it wakes up, it seems to draw LOTS of volts (not Amps). It is so strong that it can cause a voltage drop if connected to a UPS system, causing it to click.

I also have that connected to a voltage regulator, that clicks when the printer wakes up. This is before it prints. So it’s not the fuser drawing this power, it’s the machine waking. I had to connect the printer directly to the wall, bypassing these devices because I don’t want to shorten their lives or the lives of things attached to them.

I am assuming the printer itself is designed for this and hopefully will live a long life. But I have never seen another printer do that to the line voltage, so it is something to consider.

This is our third Brother printer, hoping each new “generation” would be better than the previous one. But no, These are very cheap quality machines. Scanner is very loud and becomes louder with use.

Scanning coverage area is about 90% despite ample room on the scanning screen. Paper jams with the feeder are very common. Printing is loud too. These machines are not durable in our opinion. We’ve had OEM toner and drum issues plus more (see below).

We never had these issues with Lexmark and other brands. The installation software is ridiculous buggy. The naming convention of the downloaded files are absurd and completely irrational. The manual is ok but when you run into an issue when things don’t go as planned, the manual is useless and you’re forced to search online.

Should you need to add another printer such as a warranty replacement, the software doesn’t play nice when trying to install, especially the printer as a network printer. The consumables are not accurate after adding a replacement, especially when under warranty.

Brother doesn’t send drum and toner, you have to use the old one and insert it into the new. Even though the toner level is not 100% it shows up as 100%. There doesn’t seem to be a way to change this in the settings.

When you run into software installation issues, the only workaround is to re-install Windows or if you used the Brother uninstall tool which doesn’t work (and is not user friendly) system restore. The troubleshooting section of Brother’s website is again, not user friendly.

These devices are not user friendly. We will never buy Brother again.
