October 3, 2016

To our SocialMoms community:

Last month we announced our new social good program, #SocialMomsLetters, which will showcase letters from our readers on specific themes to raise awareness on important topics and give back.

Each month we will announce a different theme and ask the community to write a letter addressing that theme. In addition, to do our part for social good, SocialMoms will either make a $10 donation to a charity of our choice for each letter that is submitted (up to 10 letters) each month, volunteer our team’s time, or take some other type of relevant action. Our goal is to raise awareness and inspire action. Let’s come together, give back, and have fun along the way! (If you haven’t seen the letter we selected for September on the theme Random Acts of Kindness, check it out here).

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, so we are asking readers to write a letter on that theme.

Feel free to address this theme anyway you want. You can write a letter to someone who helped or inspired you when you were diagnosed with breast cancer, for example. Or you can write a letter to a friend or relative who has breast cancer. Or you can write a letter about what you wish people knew about breast cancer. But please don’t limit yourself to any of these ideas; we welcome letters on every aspect of breast cancer and breast cancer awareness.

Letters can be as short as a single paragraph, and no longer than 300 words. Please include the hashtag #SocialMomsLetters in any social media postings.

If your letter is chosen, it will be featured prominently on SocialMoms.com and we will link back to your preferred blog or social platform. We will also be promoting the letter on our social media channels using the hashtag #SocialMomsLetters.

In addition, SocialMoms will donate $10 for each letter submitted (up to 10 letters) to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. We encourage you to donate to your preferred breast cancer charity.

To submit your letter, please email it to [email protected] by October 14th. If your letter is selected to be featured on SocialMoms.com, we will contact you to let you know.

xo,

Your SocialMoms Team!
