There are 8 weeks until Christmas! Can you even believe that? The season of feasting and parties is upon us! This time of year, I am in constant need of new and innovative ways of making cookies, cakes, pies and all things sweet.

The big question? Whether to stick with the old favorites, or give some new more adventurous flavors a whirl. The answer, of course, is to do both, and you can by having lots and lots of sugar stocked in your pantry. Our choice? Domino Sugar. We promise your kitchen will start smelling like the Holidays in no time.

So – for a quick and easy idea to get you in the Holiday spirit? Character cookies.
I’d like to dub the week before Christmas – “Annual Cookie Week!” because It seems that about this time every year we begin to indulge in those little guys. Plates start showing up at the office, school parties are hosted with a request for batches, and friendly neighbors stop by to convince us to taste their favorites.

I’ve always loved a simple and sweet approach to the season’s treats, which is why Christmas character cookies have been a huge hit at home this year. The kid’s love how easy the cookies are to decorate and they look great with minimal effort.

Ingredients

3 Cups Flour
1 cup Domino sugar
36 Hershey’s® Kisses® Brand chocolates, (any variety) unwrapped
2 Cups Milk

Directions

Heat oven to 375°F. In medium bowl, make dough as directed on pouch.

Shape dough into 36 (1-inch) balls; roll in colored sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.

Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light golden brown. Immediately press 1 chocolate candy in center of each cookie. Remove from cookie sheets. Cool completely, about 20 minutes. And enjoy – because trust us – they won’t last long.
