Only a few hours from many southeast cities, the quaint village of Gatlinburg, Tennessee is the kind of special place that you’re destined to want to visit for summers to come. Gatlinburg is set in the natural beauty of the Smoky Mountains and offers a vast variety of activities. Take your family on scenic hikes, go ziplining, dine in restaurants downtown, visit local attractions, or simply enjoy the area’s amazing natural beauty with outdoor adventures. Start a new family tradition. You’ve never been closer.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park

You can’t get any closer to the Smokies than Gatlinburg. You can walk from downtown right into the Park, or hop in the car and drive deep into the most visited national park in America. With nearly 400 miles of scenic drive there are plenty of pulloffs, streams, waterfalls, picnic stops and trailheads around every bend.

There are a variety of activities you can engage in. Head up into the mountains and find a swimming hole. Practice geocaching, fly-fishing or scouting on more than 800 miles of trails. Pitch camp. Explore the Park on horseback. Action-packed and fun family vacations are one of the area’s biggest draws.

Downtown Gatlinburg

Back in town, Gatlinburg is filled with quaint galleries, great places to eat, and fun activities for the kids.  Make your way through the mirror maze, visit museums, soar to new heights at the sky lift or Space Needle, or putt for par on some of the craziest mini-golf courses you’ll ever see. There are rides, shows and arcades everywhere.

If you are looking for an amazing 4th of July celebration, Gatlinburg can’t be beat! They feature the “First July Fourth Parade in the Nation!” Their parade starts at the stroke of midnight to begin Independence Day and over 100,000 people will be on hand to watch the event.
