Does your honeymoon seem to have taken place a long time ago? When was the last time you dined over candlelight? Or explored a new city without pushing a stroller, too? Are you craving time to reconnect with your partner in parenting and life? Then it’s time to call the grandparents STAT,  to let them know the kids will be visiting soon, and start planning a honeymoon re-do. Here are three getaways – no passport required, and all easy to reach from most major hubs – that will make for an indulgent long weekend of romance.

Atlanta

Atlanta is known for its sizzling nightlife scene and is the perfect go-to spot for a long weekend of romantic fun. Check out Prohibition, a swanky nightspot with a 1920’s speakeasy feel – you’ll need a password to enter (step into the antique phone booth at the entrance and dial) – where master mixologists whip up craft cocktails on the spot. Or enjoy the oysters – there are ten types on the menu – and cozy up in a vintage table nook at the historic Kimball House. At the Atlanta Botanical Garden, stroll together on a tree-canopy-level walkway that extends 600 feet and surround yourself with azaleas, camellias, hydrangeas, roses and hundreds of other vibrant flowers.

Stay: The W Atlanta Downtown is a sleek and sexy hotel complete with an infinity pool, a luxurious spa and high-tech room amenities.

New York City

A  long weekend getaway to New York City is ideal for couples that enjoy exploring new sights together. Indeed, with its intimate, historic, and just plain extra-special spots – from restaurants to parks to museums – around every corner, New York City always keeps travelers on their toes. Take a sunset carriage ride, rent a rowboat and paddle to Bow Bridge, or pack a picnic for two – all at the magical and iconic Central Park.  Make like Holly Golightly and browse the lovely jewelry at Tiffany & Co. on Fifth Avenue, America’s premier jeweler since 1837. Cap off an evening of romance atop the Empire State Building.

Stay: Built in 1924, the Gramercy Park Hotel overlooks the charming Gramercy Park, which was modeled in the 1830s after a London square. Cuddle up beside one of the hotel’s three fireplaces or spend the day lounging in your elegantly outfitted room with its oak floors, sweeping red velvet drapes, tapestry-covered chairs, and handmade velvet headboards.

Charleston

With its cobblestone streets, elegant restaurants, and historic homes and gardens, Charleston sets the scene for romance. Begin a date night to remember by catching the sunset as you stroll along the beach at dusk. Then catch a dinner cruise,  saving an onboard  dance for your sweetheart as you float along the Charleston Harbor. Afterwards, explore the French Quarter, where you’ll find quaint cafes, historic homes, and art galleries. Cap off your evening with a nightcap at the lovely bar at Tristan, one of Charleston’s most elegant restaurants.
Stay: Originally built in 1853, the centrally located Mills House Wyndham Grand boasts southern hospitality and old-world charm. You’ll find not only 17th and 18th century artwork and antiques on display but also modern luxe amenities.
