We’ve been hearing for months that color-blocking is in, neon is en vogue, and that adding a dash of high dose color to your outfit is the way to go.  What is the best way to do this?  Can you do it without spending a lot of your hard-earned cash?  Yes, you can. Adding a pop of pink to your ensemble is the best way to work this trend and brighten your day. Here’s how:

Shoes:

I like to wear basics during the week when working at home and with my girls – but that doesn’t mean I have to be drab.  Adding a cute pair of pink ballet flats like these from Lucky Brand, Emmie 2,are a sweet way to perk up a look and keep it youthful and fresh.  Pair them with trouser jeans and a boat-neck crew and you are good to go with the kids, lunch with a friend or to take a quick meeting.

Blazer:

Don’t want to go the ballet flat route?  Then slip on this stylish and well-cut Vince Camuto one-button blazer. It’s bright, bold and beautiful. Add it to khakis for something simple but pair it with a white tee or tank, skirt or pair of dressy shorts and you have a gorgeous look that is sure to put a spring in your step.

Jeans:

The Limited’s Forenza 678 skinny jeans in pink are another option for that pop of spring. Colored jeans are very hot right now and yet these pink ones are not as bright as the green and yellow versions you see on so many others.

Make-Up:

When I want to add color but keep my outfit simple I do it with make-up. A pretty in pink manicure is easy to do on your fingers or toes with colors like Essie’s latest coral pink, ‘Camera’.  It looks great on hands and feet and will definitely attract attention.  Zoya Nail polish in ‘Max’ and Chanel’s ‘Rose Exuberant’ are some other fantastic pink alternatives.  Not a nail person?  No problem. Go for a high voltage pink with lots of shine when you apply ‘Primrose Hill Picnic’ Lippy lip gloss by butter LONDON.

Accessories:

Make-up and clothing might not always work for you.  So go the accessories route with this pink trend.  Throw a pink handbag over your shoulder. Michael Kors zinnia pink Saffiano jet set travel tote looks great on the go or not.  Tie a hot pink scarf to your everyday purse handle. It’s a look that never goes out of style.

Whatever you do adding a shot of pink to your look can really bring you into one of the latest trends this spring and summer.  Have fun with it!
