Fifteen, twenty-five, thirty or eighty-seven, it doesn’t matter your age – you still want nice skin.  It seems more complicated than it’s worth sometimes with all the products clogging up the shelves and tips taking up space in our brains.  Isn’t there a ridiculous amount of water we are supposed to be drinking daily and what about green tea?  It seems endless.  It’s not.  It’s easier than you think and you can get started right away.

Fresh Steps

The first step to get glowing skin is to clean out that bathroom cabinet. Get rid of any products you haven’t used in the last six months. Just like your closet except that skincare products actually have expiration dates that are shorter than most trends.

Next, start with the basics. A simple gel cleanser or cleansing lotion is all you need to clean your face day or night. You don’t need two and it shouldn’t be harsh. How many times have you read about Cetaphil being recommended by a celebrity or dermatologist in a magazine? That’s because it is true. A cleanser like Cetaphil or Purpose actually works to remove dirt and make-up without stripping your skin. When skin is stripped dead skin cells buildup making your face appear dull and dry.

Tone Up

Yes, an alcohol-free toner is actually good for you. After you wash your face apply an alcohol-free toner that doesn’t bust your budget. It will balance the ph-levels in your skin and add moisture back into your face. Moisture creates a barrier and your skin can heal faster and protect itself from outside elements better than dry, ravaged by harsh product skin.

Activate

When it comes to gorgeous skin that get noticed a serum is a key element. Find one that is vitamin-rich and loaded with antioxidants. Arbonne makes a great one but so does drugstore brand Olay or RoC. Apply the serum in the morning or at night.  Put it on your face and neck after toner and before your moisturizer.  Serums work their magic day and night to help with discoloration and fending off wrinkles.

Protect

The last step is really the cherry on top, the glue that holds the whole process all together. It’s to moisturize with a good SPF-filled lotion. The SPF level must be over 30 and should be applied in at least a teaspoon worth for your face. Adding in a night cream with more antioxidants is wonderful but the best way to get great skin is to protect it from the drying, aging sun. Find a moisturizer loaded with SPF that works on your skin and you are good to go.
