Congratulations to 2 Wired 2 Tired: the SocialMoms Blog of the Week!
With so many parenting blogs out there, its hard to know who to pick. What I liked about the 2 Wired 2 Tired blog is that Tésa and her team give a good mix of personal blogging, parenting blogging, travel blogging, and product reviews. They blog almost daily, and sometimes several times a day, so there’s a lot to read and learn about.
Tésa says the focus of 2 Wired 2 Tired is to connect with readers through parenting. “Whether blogging about family life or reviewing products, my goal is for readers to come away feeling connected and grabbing a tip or two to make their lives easier as parents.” Here’s what else she had to say:
SM: What was your inspiration for starting 2 Wired 2 Tired
I started 2 Wired 2 Tired when my children were both under 2 years old. At that time, someone was always napping and I felt a little trapped at home. So I started reading blogs of other moms and then I began commenting and interacting with them. I enjoyed the community and decided to put my English degree to work and 2 Wired 2 Tired was born (it was originally called 2 Toddlers and Me).
SM: What has most surprised you about running the site?
There are two things that most surprised me about running a blog. The first is all the technical troubleshooting that goes on behind the scenes that many readers never know about. The other is the amazing community of mom bloggers out there. I enjoy interacting with other bloggers through my blog and on Twitter. Then when I have the chance to meet them at blogging events it’s so fun to get to know them in real life. It’s such a wonderful and supportive community. Whenever I find myself as a parent going through something and need to reach out for help, I can usually find great advice and even a few bloggers who have been there before me.
SM: What are you most passionate about?
My passions include reading, writing, and travel. I love that blogging allows me to keep my family involved in all of these interests as well. After all my blog is about my family, so writing about them and getting the chance to travel with them melds it all together beautifully.
SM: What is the most popular section of your site?
The most popular sections of 2 Wired 2 Tired are the tech, travel, family, food, and fun categories. They are a nice mix that reaches a wide audience so there’s something for everyone.
SM: What is your favorite part of blogging?
My favorite part about blogging has to be the same answer as number 3. The fact that I can include my family in my passions for reading, writing, and travel make it a wonderful experience. Lately I’ve been going back and reading some of my very first posts – it’s like an online scrapbook! There were memories and pictures there that I had completely forgotten about. So 2 Wired 2 Tired has become extremely dear to me in that way as well and this aspect is definitely one of my favorite parts.
