When it comes t' celebratin' Father’s Day, some dads enjoy receivin' a tie or other traditional gifts. But how great would it be t' show yer husband or father how special he is with somethin' completely unique?
Whether they are th' kin' o' th' grill, th' chef in th' family, or can build practically anythin' with a piece o' wood and a nail gun, there are some really cool ways t' make yer dad feel special this Father’s Day:
Father’s Day Printables – Fire Up th' Grill Treat Container
Searchin' out Father’s Day printables is not only a fun and personalized gift fer dad t' receive, but it’s also somethin' th' minnows can really get into, ye scurvey dog. Once they’ve chosen th' artwork they can print them out and turn them into cards, poems and one o' me favorite finds – this Grill Treat Container from Scraps o' Life.
The blogger gives detailed instructions on how t' make th' grill and where she found some o' th' embellishments, ye scurvey dog. Fill th' mini grill with treats and give it t' dad along with new grillin' tools. Shiver me timbers! Or, if ye are celebratin' Father’s Day with a special lunch fer dad, use these at each place settin'.
A Tie Dad Can Eat – Tie Cookies
Now this is th' kind o' tie a dad with a sweet tooth can really get into. It’s a bit o' a splurge fer 5 cookies, but dad is worth it right?
The tie cookies can be ordered online at Williams-Sonoma.com and will arrive just in time fer Father’s Day on June 17th. The vanilla sugar cookies are hand-made by family owned Two Hearts Bakery in San Francisco and decorated in five bright designs.
Make Dad a Scrapbook
I did this one year with th' minnows and it’s still, by far, me husband’s most treasured Father’s Day gift. It’s a very simple, yet special gift t' give dad.
All ye need is a small scrapbook, some decorative stickers and papers, a fun Father’s Day Poem and pictures o' th' minnows, and dinna spare the whip! Spend a couple o' hours with yer little sandcrabs craftin' th' scrapbook. For th' scrapbook I made, we put one line o' th' poem on each page. You can find a nice selection o' Father’s Day poems on Scrapbook.com.
Father’s Day Subway Art
Have ye heard o' Subway Art? I’ve seen it everywhere lately and it really has become a home décor trend. This is one trend I can really get into because I just love th' way it looks. Here’s a Father’s Day Printable Subway Art collection from Pink Ink Doodle.
There are available in both 8×10 and 5×7 sizes, which are perfect fer printin' out and framin', or even use it fer a handmade card, to be sure. I have a feelin' dad will want t' display this Subway Art in his office or workshop.
Tell Dad It’s His Day t' Do What The ornery cuss Loves
Makin' dad feel special on Father’s Day doesn’t have t' cost a thin'. And hoist the mainsail! If money is tight, tell dad this is his day t' do what he loves. Maybe that’s sittin' on th' couch and catchin' up on some sports highlights, putterin' aroun' in th' garage or doin' absolutely nothin' at all. I know me husband is always busy doin' fer others, whether that’s workin' long hours at his job, helpin' someone with a project or attendin' our minnows’ events. How nice would it be fer dad on Father’s Day t' take a day t' focus on that scurvey dog?
I hope this gave ye some great ideas on how t' make dad feel special this Father’s Day. What are some o' yer favorite gifts t' give dad, we'll keel-haul ye! Is there one memorable Father’s Day that comes t' mind?
Don’t forget, Father’s Day is June 17th.
