Trends come and go every year and the holiday season is no different. Just when you want to hunker down in a comfy sweater, leggings, and fur-lined boots or slippers, it is time to get dressed up in heels, a velvet gown, or a silk or satin shift. Why not give yourself the gift of the pajama blouse? The looks are endless and can take you from day to night, and cozy couch to office party. Here are three ways to wear the pajama blouse—our fashion pick of the season!

Do Denim

The wide cut of a pajama blouse may beg for skinny pants, but when it comes to denim, a wide-leg cropped pair or set of boyfriend jeans is the way to go. Roll the boyfriend cut and wear them distressed or faded with the pajama blouse half-tucked in front or all the way out, depending on the length. Add a pair of smoking loafers or moccasins and you have yourself a great look for the day.

The same tucked style can be worn with culottes jeans. This look is perfect for brunch or a holiday lunch with friends, a weekend party, or any day-time event. Wear with a saddlebag purse and strappy heels to create a more stream-lined outfit, too.

Party Pretty

Make a statement at your next party with an embroidered silk pajama blouse. Find one in a bold floral print with an intricate design on the back, and match it with a set of skinny ankle pants for an elegant outfit that feels good and looks good, too. I love the idea of pairing this outfit with a bold cocktail ring and bejeweled pumps.

Create a longer and leaner looking line when you mix the blouse with wide-leg trousers and heels. Find a top with a tie-waist for an alternate approach. Wear it on New Year’s Eve, a night out, or at your own affair. Add a clutch that complements, and you are ready to ring in 2017.

Set Up

Pajama blouses don’t always come alone. Find a luxe set of silky women’s pajamas in a jewel-toned solid or paisley print, and wear them with pumps for a throwback look. To accessorize, add an on-trend choker for a modern twist, or a delicately layered pendant that falls within the neckline. If you are wearing a whole pajama set, go minimal with anything you layer over it. Keep all other colors neutral when using a printed pajama set beyond the bedroom.
