Make a big splash this season with the right sunglasses. Sunnies, sunshades, just plain ol’ shades all help to protect your peepers from the sun. They are anti-aging and fashionable, and completely necessary to keep your eyes healthy. But how do you know which styles are right for you? What’s hot right now in 2016? We have the answers all right here and just for you.  (And remember; always buy sunglasses that have 100% UV Protection.)

Find Your Face

Picking the right sunglasses really depends on your personal style and choosing the right size and shape to suit and fit your face. While big styles are best for everyone because they protect your eyes and area around them; you still want to look good. First ask yourself … do you have a heart-shaped face? Or is it square, round or oval? Once you have figured this out you can find the right size and shape that flatters your face.

Heart-Shaped faces are defined by their narrow chins, broad jawlines and foreheads. Rimless frames or lenses with a wide bottom shape look best.

Square Faces can look their best with round or oval-shaped lenses. If your face shape tends to be wide then skip the frames with color on the bottom. Strong jawlines need to be balanced that play off the face shape.

Round Shaped faces narrow at the forehead and jawline but possess wider cheeks. Pair a set of sunnies with square lenses that compliment your cheekbones. Avoid oversized sunglasses that emphasize the cheeks.

Oval Shaped faces look to shades that show off their narrower foreheads and often high cheekbones. Smaller jawlines are found in oval-shaped faces so sunglasses from oversized to aviator or anything in between can work on this shape. The oval is the most versatile!

Trending in 2016

What is big in 2016? When it comes to sunglasses big is big. Oversized shades rocked the runways and are all about showing off your individual style. Worn in bold colors with wide accents, this style is not for the faint of heart. Details that go beyond rhinestone studs will also be seen in stores.

Big and bold isn’t forever and that’s why the classic cat-eye is still a welcome set of shades. Find a color and size that suits your face and style and you will look good all season long. Geometric shapes are also trending right now and are a good play off the cat-eye shape.

Forever chic are the standard aviators which suit many faces. Play up a pair by choosing a flattering lens color and keep them for years to come.
