Taking your style from day to night doesn’t have to be complicated. All you need is a little advance planning and about 10 minutes at the end of your workday to complete your transformation. Whether you’re heading out to the theatre, drinks with the girls or for a dinner date, if you follow these simple tips, you’ll be able to make yourself feel ready for anything in just a few minutes.

Take It To The Next Level

Regardless of what you’re wearing, you can instantly add flair with some extra height. Have you ever noticed when you wear heels you immediately feel sexier and more put-together? Whether you prefer strappy sandals or peep-toe pumps, adding a fun shoe with some significant inches will instantly up the ante on your outfit.

If you really want to glam it up further, choose a shoe with embellishments – sequins, crystals, a small bow – you get the idea. If high heels make you cringe because of the pain they cause on your feet, consider trying a wedge-style shoe. You’ll get the benefit of the added height but they are almost as comfortable as a flat.

Add Sparkle

The simplest way to move from day-to-night is to add some chunky jewelry. Try a statement necklace or an arm full of bangles for a quick way to turn even a simple top and pants into an evening look.

Jewelry instantly adds some much needed shine that says you’re dressed for the bar and not for the boardroom. The best part about this type of sparkle is that costume jewelry works great so you don’t need to empty your wallet to look great.

Paint One On

By the end of the day, we all feel a little less energetic and – let’s be honest – pretty. Our makeup that was applied in the early a.m. has faded. Before you head out for your dinner date or soiree, make sure you give your face a little TLC.

Start by added some liner close to your lash line. Black or brown will do well (brown is a little more subtle). Then contour your lids with some eye shadow in a medium tone (don’t stray from your favorite colors in your makeup bag – we’re aiming for a quick transformation, not experimentation!). Next, take a highlighter shade (an iridescent champagne tone is universally flattering) and use a small brush to highlight just under your brows and then at inside corner of each of your eyes. Voila! Instant face lift. Finally, add a swipe of gloss to your lips and you’re ready for a night out on the town.

Following these simple tips will allow you to look fabulous from your morning coffee through to that last glass of evening champagne!
