My son has asthma. It’s not a problem, most of the time – we have an inhaler and nebulizer to keep it under control. But recently we were on a family vacation and I forgot to pack his medication. He started to wheeze and I knew we were on a downward spiral. It was a weekend and I needed to quickly get my hands on a prescription for a new inhaler … and get that prescription filled! Luckily there was a Walgreens Healthcare Clinic right down the road. We were in and out within the hour, and my son was back to playing soccer that very afternoon. It was fast, convenient, and I didn’t have to worry about whether the physician was in my local network.
House calls used to be the only way patients received convenient family care. Today, professional, quality healthcare is available close to home at Walgreens Healthcare Clinic. It’s an extension of the Walgreens brand – friendly and familiar, knowledgeable yet approachable. I have several friends who have hopped into their local Walgreens, without an appointment, to get their children’s physicals for soccer and football and even Kindergarten registration! At only $39, you can quickly get the paperwork completed and get on with your day.
Walgreens Healthcare Clinics are staffed with licensed and board certified Nurse Practitioners who can help you manage and monitor a chronic condition, such as hypertension, diabetes, asthma or high cholesterol. Additionally, some clinics are staffed with physician assistants. Located in select Walgreens, the clinics are open 7 days a week and have both weekend and evening hours. Appointments are available, but walk-ins are fine (as we did) and they accept most forms of insurance.
As a mom, it’s nice to know that I have options for a quick diagnosis or check-up, and it’s definitely convenient to get a prescription filled without ever leaving the clinic. Head on over to Walgreens, or visit them on Facebook and Twitter for more information.
