Congratulations to Fit Mom’s Blog: the SocialMoms Blog of the Week!

Looking to know more about fitness? Want to up your work-out intensity? Looking for motivation and inspiration? Check out Fit Mom’s Blog. Rachel has been a marathon runner, bike racer, and is now an avid cross fitter. So, who better to motivate you! She launched Fit Mom’s Blog with the intention of sharing what she’s learned being an athlete.

I recently chatted with Rachel about running her site and her goals for the new year.

SM: What was your inspiration for starting Fit Mom’s Blog?

In 2007, I had just had a baby and was trying to get my body back so with the help of a friend, I started a blog to share what I knew about being an athlete. Getting fit and staying fit while still being a mommy..

SM: What has most surprised you about running the site?

All the cool people I have “met: via blogging. There are several bloggers who have made it to the big leagues today with either published books or are on TV or have received multiple awards for their blogging. They were who I looked up to way back when and still do today.

SM: What are you most passionate about?

Getting stronger.

SM: What is the most popular section of your site?

Several product reviews have been very well received that include New Balance, particular Yoga Poses that are helpful for runners, and protein powders for women.

SM: What is your favorite part of blogging?

I’ve always known I had a love for writing (maybe it’s not a talent), but I enjoy sharing my stories with others. Possibly by me sharing my stories, I could influence someone else to make healthier choices in their life.

SM: Do you have any blogging resolutions for the new year?

Post four days a week without fail!
