Looking for a new show to add to your summer list? Check out Political Animals, launching this Sunday on USA Network!  The show, starting July 15th at 10/9C,  stars Sigourney Weaver as Secretary of State Elaine Barrish in a drama about the first family and their relationships.

In the wake of a divorce from her philandering ex-president husband Bud Hammond (Ciarán Hinds), Elaine tries to keep her family together while dealing with crises of the State Department and hungry D.C. journalist Susan Berg (Carla Gugino) who is bent on destroying her.

Political Animals uncovers a family that is flawed, vulnerable and human, while still showcasing the working woman and how hard she works to keep her family together. It also provides a heavy dose of smart banter and interesting subtext. In the pilot episode, Elaine tells her husband: “I know, given your epic levels of narcissism, that it’s impossible for you to fathom this loss has nothing to do with you, but imagine for a moment that it doesn’t. The country loves you, Bud. They will always love you. It’s me they have mixed feelings about.”

Political Animals is also providing digital extensions at politicalanimals.tv. Online, fans can delve into the series’ mythology, explore the broader realm of political scandals throughout US history and test their knowledge of presidential history. You’ll also find in-depth interviews with stars, behind-the-scenes content and exclusive commentary from Greg Berlanti – available after each episode airs. You can also follow Political Animals on Facebook and Twitter, and make sure to join in the conversation while watching the show live Sundays 10/9C on USA with the hashtag #PoliticalAnimals!
