The back to school season is full of excitement, new school supplies, new clothes, meeting new friends and teachers. It's also a time of busier schedules and after school activities. Classrooms filled with kids, an abundance of shared surfaces and less fresh air offer the right environment for sharing germs. Take time this Fall to teach your kids some good habits while sharing the excitement of a new year to make it a healthy season for you and your family. I'm glad I can say that even though we have a full home, it's been years since anyone has been on antibiotics…

Thank you for your article!  I work in an elementary school and thankfully, I think I am immune to most of the germs there since I have been working with children for so long.  But, I watch how the children don't really follow our advice for hygiene :(  I am constantly on my daughter's case for properly washing her hands!  She sighs very loudly when I make her go back and wash longer, but I know I'm doing the right thing :)

Thanks for the great article, and for including two of my favorite tips – hand washing and leaving shoes at the door.  I believe handwashing is the most important and easiest thing to do to cut down on germs.   As soon as my son gets home from school, I have him (and any friends he's brough with him) wash hands – right after they've left their shoes at the door!
