In yoga there are many principles for healthy living. One of these is called "Svadhyaya" – which translates to self-reflection or examination. While the New Year is an excellent time to reflect on the past year and look at ways we want to improve our selves, Svadhyaya should be done regularly, even seasonally or in the natural course of life.

My ego is not making me prone to injury. I keep my ego at a steady pace. Its never over the top, it doesn't need to be.Embarassed

That's the best balance you could hope for!  Being aware is the foundation of Svadhyaya and responding to situations as you need to without letting your Ego go over the top. That's where we get into difficulty, physically and emotionally.
