SocialMoms.com, our flagship property within our parent company Megan Media LLC, is one of the world’s largest networks of women influencers — comprised of more than 45,000+ bloggers, sites and social media personalities. Our team works with leading brands to craft customized, high-impact social and digital media campaigns aimed at women 25-49 for leading brands including P&G, Unilever, Coke, Kraft, Pepsi, Disney, Kimberly-Clarke, Seventh Generation, Clorox, Alamo, Gap, Staples, Office Depot, MTV, Sears, JCP, Starbucks, Seattle’s Best Coffee and dozens more. It was founded in 2008 by Megan Calhoun, a mom of two who resides in northern California with her husband. She serves as the company’s chief executive officer.

Our Roots

SocialMoms.com began in 2008 as a popular community site for moms looking to build their reach and influence through social networking, traditional media opportunities, and brand sponsorships.

To this day, we focus on presenting our members with high-integrity opportunities from both media and brand partners looking to engage the web’s most influential women. We deliver meaningful and measurable impact for our partners. Tens of thousands of our members subscribe to our weekly RAMBO (“Reach A Mom Blogger Online”) news alerts for exclusive access to national media and brand sponsorship opportunities. We’ve helped our moms get featured in the New York Times, Chicago Tribune, on syndicated talk shows, the CBS Early Show, and dozens of additional media outlets.

History of Innovation

With our first blogging program in 2008, we fundamentally changed the ways brands engage influential moms online — leading a shift away from paid product reviews toward content-themed programs that unlock the creativity of our members and celebrate integrity. We are driven by the desire to offer our members high-integrity opportunities for personal and professional growth.

We are constantly innovating to better serve our growing community. In 2011, we launched the world’s first social networking loyalty program. We were the first company to launch a mobile social networking service built by and for moms:  SocialMoms Insider for iOS or SocialMoms Insider for Android platforms. The SocialMoms Insider app was built with the unique needs and interests in of our members mind.  The free service offers moms rewards for reviewing and checking into the places they frequent.

In 2010, we launched the SocialMoms Seal of Approval — the first “social seal of approval” program for brands. It’s the first program of its kind to include both standardized in-home evaluations by a panel of moms. It’s also the first seal program to include a QR code, allowing mobile shoppers to get insights from their peers moms on products we’ve tested.
